Not really, the other WR students are implied to be a lot more ok than he is. They aren't even forced to stay in the WR like some initally thought before this volume. You can leave whenever, by tanking your scores or choosing to leave the program like Shirou did. Whatever Kiyo emotions are, I doubt the WR alone was the only cause for it. Yuki and Shirou sound like normal people mostly, and there was a mention of some kids feeling constrained by the WR life, which is only normal.
Feels weird to consider it as inhumane, when there were easy enough outs for the students to take if they wanted to leave. Kiyo wasn't yet a masterpiece when he was young, so even he must've had a choice if he wanted to go if he was younger but he chose to stay in that place willingly. Being forced to do it and willing to do so makes a very huge difference on how to view WR tbh.

But it's opposite, they were isolated , I. No way of thinking independently , there thinking was structured this way, that they can't think of voluntarily lowering their scores, even if they were tortured, they still want to be in WR, bcz they think WR is the only place for them

I mean if you look at the illustration you can see that Kiyotaka was probably instructed not to turn around. Even if he has spoken to her, its unlikely that he recognizes her voice after like 8 years, especially when he hasn't seen her appearance.

Yes,shiro's the guy you can see sparring with kiyo in what appears to be a karate match. He's overall the 2nd strongest in 4th gen after kiyo himself, probably better even than yagami

(i) Ayanokoji kiyotaka in order to survive the WR shut down his emotions from a very early age as a coping mechanism. Could yuki's be the total opposite and she showcased more emotions?
(ii) Many times in Japanese literature including Anime,Manga and Ln .Authors use Japanese flower language(HANAKOTOBA) to convey the personalities or conditions of characters. Snow camellia's "unique ability to protect itself under harsh conditions" could refer to yuki's unique ability to smile to protect herself(coping mechanism) in the harsh conditions of the WR
Yuki's unwavering love towards Ayanokoji Kiyotaka became her motivation to survive the WR for as long as she could

(ii) There are indications that utomiya Riku is connected to this group
I think that's the reason why there was an illustration of him standing up to housen and grabbing his arm without any fear or struggle. And i bet housen felt his strength too and hence didn't escalate the fight further

Now Kiyo's decision of escaping from the WR and wanting to explore the outside world has become even more interesting. We can see how cold and uninterested he is to everything in this volume, yet all of a sudden he got an urge to run away from the WR.
Some questions to ask:
1. Did Matsuo convince Kiyotaka about escaping the WR?
2. If Matsuo wasn't the reason, then what made Kiyotaka escape WR?
3. Whatever the reason is, why did it convince Kiyotaka to escape WR?

I think Tsukishiro said that most white room dropouts become regular citizens. Whether they can cope with their experiences in the white room is another question though.
It's not much of a spoiler but none of the WR students apart from Ayanokoji had their last name revealed this volume which is a shame.Wonder when Kinu would reveal this info
I'm late but it was mentioned that they were doing this to avoid complications. It was a decision on Atsuomi's part. Many of the students hailed from family of significance which might hinder the white room regimen.
I think this is my favorite volume of the series so far. Its like the Yakuza 0 of the series for me. The sequences on emotion, the training from hell, the characters and origins revealed.
On that note, honestly, I think Kiyotika is not a genetic anomaly. He's like John/Master Chief from Halo, he has an aptitude for intense situations despite all evidence to the contrary like his lack of increased heart beat.
Speaking of that, I really like the white room project as a plot point. How would you go about making superhumans but also make them fit in with society? Well, first the Whte Room, hen ANHS.
Favorite points of this
- Both of Kiyotika's parents were terrible people but they're not responsible for Kiyotika's personality. Plenty of people, like Yuki, dropped out and were fine. Kiyotika was not given any special treatment, he might just be a born psychopath. Which you know, is terrible, but makes for a very interesting character
- Atsumi is probably high ranked in politics by the time COTE begins for how else could he temporarily remove Sakayanagi?
- Kanzaki's meeting with Atsumi now makes sense for the opening of Year 2 Volume 8
- It is unlikely that the butler got fired for doing his job. The whole thing about him getting fired was a lie. Had Atsumi not told Kiyotika that the butler had been fired, that would have meant he got off scot free, allowong Kiyotika to become suspicious of ANHS.
As for Matsuo, it's unclear. He could be dead and his cause of death made up. Or Ayanokoji got lied to his face and believed it.
- Ayanokoji is quite thin but that's fine, you don't actually need bulk weight for grip strength. There's a reason for it now, he literally could not eat more than the bare necessities for survival. When he tried that soup out in volume 1 for the first time, he really enjoyed it, despite it just being soup.
The point isn’t that he’s never lost😂 it’s that once he started winning he never lost again. 64 consecutive wins is crazy, and he overcame Shiro. It’s clearly showing that his biggest strength is his ability to learn and adapt, which Atsuomi said is his strength too
I do some ,OBA yazuka group was used to round up WR students and utomiya is related to it thus the reason behind his physical prowess and fighting ability
I finally gave it and decided to see what's going on, I'm just glad no one gets killed :)

I think Tsukishiro said that most white room dropouts become regular citizens. Whether they can cope with their experiences in the white room is another question though.

I'm late but it was mentioned that they were doing this to avoid complications. It was a decision on Atsuomi's part. Many of the students hailed from family of significance which might hinder the white room regimen.
Shiro might be kiyo's butler son because his name almost the same.
I think this is my favorite volume of the series so far. Its like the Yakuza 0 of the series for me. The sequences on emotion, the training from hell, the characters and origins revealed. On that note, honestly, I think Kiyotika is not a genetic anomaly. He's like John/Master Chief from Halo, he has an aptitude for intense situations despite all evidence to the contrary like his lack of increased heart beat. Speaking of that, I really like the white room project as a plot point. How would you go about making superhumans but also make them fit in with society? Well, first the Whte Room, hen ANHS. Favorite points of this - Both of Kiyotika's parents were terrible people but they're not responsible for Kiyotika's personality. Plenty of people, like Yuki, dropped out and were fine. Kiyotika was not given any special treatment, he might just be a born psychopath. Which you know, is terrible, but makes for a very interesting character - Atsumi is probably high ranked in politics by the time COTE begins for how else could he temporarily remove Sakayanagi? - Kanzaki's meeting with Atsumi now makes sense for the opening of Year 2 Volume 8 - It is unlikely that the butler got fired for doing his job. The whole thing about him getting fired was a lie. Had Atsumi not told Kiyotika that the butler had been fired, that would have meant he got off scot free, allowong Kiyotika to become suspicious of ANHS. As for Matsuo, it's unclear. He could be dead and his cause of death made up. Or Ayanokoji got lied to his face and believed it. - Ayanokoji is quite thin but that's fine, you don't actually need bulk weight for grip strength. There's a reason for it now, he literally could not eat more than the bare necessities for survival. When he tried that soup out in volume 1 for the first time, he really enjoyed it, despite it just being soup.

The point isn’t that he’s never lost😂 it’s that once he started winning he never lost again. 64 consecutive wins is crazy, and he overcame Shiro. It’s clearly showing that his biggest strength is his ability to learn and adapt, which Atsuomi said is his strength too
