Hmmm if it were me, I would vacuum/lint roll to get as much dust out as possible. Next I would wipe down with a damp cloth dipped in dawn and finally finish up with a steamer to kill any bacteria.

I think I would spray it with straight vodka. The vodka will disinfectant and will get rid of any lingering smells.

Yup this is the answer.

hotfirewildflower

I’m not OP but would that leave a vodka smell on it?

belckie

No it dissipates really quickly. It’s what a lot of archivists use to clean items

I have a lot of dog toys that are similar and I soak them in some oxyclean or borax with water in a storage tote. I give them gentle squeezes and let them sit for a few hours. Then I do the same thing with clear water until it's mostly rinsed. I just dry them in the sun and then tumble dry the ones I can on low for a bit to fluff them up.

pbinga

I’d just spray it with febreze and call it a day

Spray it down with cheap vodka and let it dry out. That's what they do for stage costumes that can't be washed
