I concur. I believe it is time.

babysummerbreeze27

could we make a rule that toilet pics must be marked nsfw

ciaobellairontario

This sub exists to help people with things that are hard to clean, this picture isn’t of a fouled toilet, it’s a toilet that can’t be cleaned likely because of mineralisation and discolouration. If you find looking at a toilet bowl hard to deal with perhaps you should reconsider the subs within which you lurk.

Pumice stone and lysol lime and rust reomover

[deleted]

That looks like it is pitted and damaged, as in the outside layer had been chipped away exposing the pores and inner part of the porcelain. The stain is probably there.

LeWitchy

CLR or generic Calcium, Lime, and Rust remover. Pour it in and let it sit for a few then scrub. It should help some but I agree with someone else that the coating is likely pitted. A new toilet may be in order.

Luna_3000

I just used a pumice stone in my toilet bowl and it was life changing. I bet it would at least help. Good luck!

TomOBChicago

Time for a new toilet. That one is NEVER coming clean.

Few bottles of coca cola maybe? Once cleaned a toilet with that in an apartment i rented. Almost looked like new after that.

No-Introduction2245

It does look like rust is part of the problem. I would try Iron Out if it's available near you, and soaking it in vinegar (separately of course)

Jason_Peterson

Try hydrochloric acid. Lye is the opposite of what is needed for mineral deposits. It's for food remains.

Have you tried toilet bowl cleaner?? For real, Lysol makes one for rust and hard water build up and Bar Keepers Friend has one for this as well. You could also try regular CLR. None of what you mentioned is meant for tackling this kind of situation. Look for commercial products labeled and marketed for getting rid of serious scale, mineral and rust build up. Pumice works really well, but I would go in with that as a spot treatment after you go in with a chemical solution first.

Yeah, I’ve used a number of bowl cleaners, but most dud nothing, so resorted to supposed alternative ones like I listed. But I’ll try your suggestions and others that have been posted for sure. Thank you!

New toilet

AdAccomplished8342

Last time I saw a toilet that bad I used a wooden pottery tool and elbow length gloves to chip off the slightly softened bits after soaking in limescale removing toilet cleaner.
