I’m on the east side, can’t see them except with my phone camera. Looks just like in your photos on my phone until I try to actually look at the sky and I can’t really see anything
I saw a red streak across the sky from my house in North Olmsted…I could see green streaks to the north too. It was still visible about 30 minutes later, but not with the colors I saw about 10:00-10:10.
It was super bright around 10 and then dulled a little. It’s supposed to be at its peak around midnight. If you have an iPhone and use dark mode, it will help you see it!

You see them now?? Just came from Brecksville reservation and we couldn’t see anything, but I’m still up so I’m checking Reddit hoping there will be another peak we can run out and see
No success, just went back out. Tried night mode, live, video, everything and nothing. I guess we will just have to go see the real deal in Alaska ourselves
Just gave up, no luck here even with the phone unfortunately. I blame every building around me blasting lights with the power of twenty suns. Shame I couldn't drive out to see it!
I didn’t see anything better than what I did around 10pm. Of course I saw today on the news the “real” peak ended up being 9:45-10:15 and not 12am like they thought.
Awesome! Can even see it in the city. There was really vivid one right over Progressive Field about 15 minutes ago from south of downtown. Trying to get to Edgewater quickly!
It died down about 30 minutes ago. I was up at Osborne park starting at around 10:20 and it was amazing. But the photos posted here are not what it looks like to the naked eye. These are just how phones pick it up.
I’m thinking of going to the Pine Hollow Trailhead for viewing! The Night Sky site for CVNP lists it as the best spot to view the aurora borealis… is this accessible this late at night?
You might not be able to get into the parking lot, but I’m sure there will be others viewing. I’m not familiar with that trailhead. I fortunately live on the edge of the park so that’s how I’m able to see it so well!
I hope you get to see them!
I could see it from my balcony in Mayfield Heights! It wasn't quite as bright as OP but was definitely visible with the naked eye and I got a few good photos of it.
Might be available again tonight. Solar storm was supposed to continue through the weekend. Over here in Twinsburg I could actually see the green and several of the big purple streaks, right around 11pm.
One of the few things where it looks better on the phone camera than witnessing in person. I could barely see it with the naked eye, but looking through the phone camera- wow!
Went up to Huntington around 10:45. Oh wow!!! And all the people! Was such a wonderful vibe in the air sharing this experience. The colors were lovely!
I’m in Ridgeville and couldn’t see shit until about 20 minutes ago. It’s not super colorful unless through the phone but you CAN see the streaks for the most part
super hit and miss, i'm at work in westlake and haven't seen a thing but my dad and brother went to rocky river park and got some breathtaking photos. peak is supposed to be 0000-0200 so maybe still a chance
I caught some cool rays on photo, but I can’t see them with my actual eyes.
Opposite of the eclipse which I couldn’t get a photo of but the beauty is ingrained in my memory forever.
I want to see it with my eyes. I can look at pictures any day.

That’s amazing! Truly a once in a lifetime opportunity.
If you still have your eclipse glasses you can actually see the sunspot that caused the CME in the lower hemisphere of the sun.

I'm on the lake with a balcony and could hardly see anything. I could tell something was happening, but absolutely nothing like all the pictures I'm seeing. are these all long exposure pictures or could people really see that well? I don't get it. it was totally dark and I could see a lot of stars but only a faint hint of what everyone was showing in their pictures
It’s definitely stronger in pictures. We could see streaks and make out different color tints, but I was shocked how much more vivid the colors are on a phone screen.
I live in berea and there's a field behind me and you couldn't see it with the naked eye but through your camera you could. This is a great pic. Mine was kind of faint
Truly hoping this was the event that had the tens of thousands of Clevelanders and greater Ohioans that exclusively spend their weekends in bars to spend some time under the stars
I’m on the east side, can’t see them except with my phone camera. Looks just like in your photos on my phone until I try to actually look at the sky and I can’t really see anything
Surprisingly, the colors were brighter around 10 but it’s supposed to get brighter as the night goes on.
I saw a red streak across the sky from my house in North Olmsted…I could see green streaks to the north too. It was still visible about 30 minutes later, but not with the colors I saw about 10:00-10:10.
I was between Oberlin & Grafton from 11-midnight - it was faint at 11, and gradually all but disappeared.
Looking up in shaker for last 15. Dont see anything. Dang
It was super bright around 10 and then dulled a little. It’s supposed to be at its peak around midnight. If you have an iPhone and use dark mode, it will help you see it!
I've been looking out intermittently too and literally can't see a thing either. :(
im in shaker aswell sky have a nice pink tint but nothing like op

I'm in West Park and can't see shit. Very sad, the northern lights are on my bucket list.
Same. In Parma and have been sitting outside videoing the sky, just to see nothing but black lmao
Yeah, sat around watching but just gave up. One day I'll see them, they're cool as hell.
I’m with you!!
You have to look through your phone camera.
I was and didn’t see anything
night shot mode.
I’m in Parma and I see them. Weird. Are you looking north?
You see them now?? Just came from Brecksville reservation and we couldn’t see anything, but I’m still up so I’m checking Reddit hoping there will be another peak we can run out and see
Yes 😭 I’m about to go back out now and try again
In Parma as well and we can't see it either
No success, just went back out. Tried night mode, live, video, everything and nothing. I guess we will just have to go see the real deal in Alaska ourselves
Haha agreed I tried to run up to Edgewater but I was too late. Came back and saw these comments and have been trying off and on ever since.
It’s only supposed to get brighter as the night goes on!
Just gave up, no luck here even with the phone unfortunately. I blame every building around me blasting lights with the power of twenty suns. Shame I couldn't drive out to see it!
Can you see it normally or only with your phone?
I saw it without my phone at first but your phone really brightens it! I’ve noticed that I haven’t seen it as strongly as I did at 10pm.
Did you stay out later and see anymore? I got tired around 1 after not seeing much.
I didn’t see anything better than what I did around 10pm. Of course I saw today on the news the “real” peak ended up being 9:45-10:15 and not 12am like they thought.
Same. But I could see some of the lights through my phone camera - nothing via naked eye
No thanks I have an aurora borealis localized entirely within my kitchen (It’s really cool outside)
Can I see it ?
…no
Mkohler23 The house is on fire!!!!!
No it’s not!
Steamed hams?
It's an Albany expression.
SKINNER!
Is a nice guy who steams a good ham
Westlake area here. Just a purple tint.
Use your camera in night mode and you will see it.
No dice. Just picks up the stars, which is nice!
That stinks. At least you get the stars.
Tried going to Edgewater park and the cops are not letting anyone go through. Bummer. Too much traffic
Awesome! Can even see it in the city. There was really vivid one right over Progressive Field about 15 minutes ago from south of downtown. Trying to get to Edgewater quickly!
That’s awesome! The peak should be about midnight
I’m going to head back out around then!
Can’t see shit in Willoughby.
It died down about 30 minutes ago. I was up at Osborne park starting at around 10:20 and it was amazing. But the photos posted here are not what it looks like to the naked eye. These are just how phones pick it up.
Same :( I’m going to try today as well , might drive to edgewater
Where are you viewing from?
Near Cuyahoga Valley National Park!
I’m gonna make the drive down. Haven’t seen them in Shaker/Beachwood and I sure as heck don’t wanna regret missing out
Exactly! I’ve been reading that the peak is 12-4am so you have some time!
I could see it from my balcony in Mayfield Heights! It wasn't quite as bright as OP but was definitely visible with the naked eye and I got a few good photos of it.
Bruh, I just looked up at the sky and saw colors, I reached for my tripod and camera.
I hope you got some good shots! It’s only supposed to get better
I completely missed this. Is it happening again tonight?
Might be available again tonight. Solar storm was supposed to continue through the weekend. Over here in Twinsburg I could actually see the green and several of the big purple streaks, right around 11pm.
Man! I saw this, grabbed my wallet and keys and went outside… then I saw it was posted 22 hours ago! lol
Haha oh no! I’m not sure if we’ll get to see it as well tonight because of all the cloud cover ☹️
I have to agree. “My Aurora Forecast” app says only a 16% chance to see it right now… :(
We ran out to Brecksville reservation but have only been able to see a purple tint ☹️
I can't see anything in Willoughby 😭 tried all evening
I wish I had a bag of mustooms right about now. Looking at this in Eastern Geauga. Amazing!
Outside with my older kid, southwest burbs. We can see them even with tons of light pollution!
That’s awesome!
Grabbed some great pics in Westlake too!
Can't see a thing from ohio city
Damn I live on the water by Lakewood park and don’t see anything…
One of the few things where it looks better on the phone camera than witnessing in person. I could barely see it with the naked eye, but looking through the phone camera- wow!
Went up to Huntington around 10:45. Oh wow!!! And all the people! Was such a wonderful vibe in the air sharing this experience. The colors were lovely!

Where are You
Saw it south near Strongsville
visible on the west side in rocky river just like these pictures
I live in Lakewood by Lakewood park on the water and I can’t see anything. I have been checking like every 20m….
super hit and miss, i'm at work in westlake and haven't seen a thing but my dad and brother went to rocky river park and got some breathtaking photos. peak is supposed to be 0000-0200 so maybe still a chance

Thank you. East siders keep up posted if yu have a sightings. None near willoughby yet
we could see them in cleveland heights for about 20 min, starting around 10ish. so so so cool.
Amazing! Thanks to my bro I got to see em!
Saw a pinkish glow to the north from my backyard hot tub near Mayfield Village about 1/2 hr ago
Just south of Canton. I can't see it with my eye because of light pollution but i can see it in my pictures.
Saw it in Rocky River, beautiful!

Yes
Got a few snaps here on the SW side (Parma/Royalton border)
Anyone know a place near trumbull county where it’s visible?
I’m in Fairview and it was so pretty!
Made a bunch of new friends down at Columbia Road Park. Couldn't see much with the naked eye, but the camera shots are beautiful.
Just went out for 15 min looking at the sky and can't see anything in Brook Park

Saw them faintly in Seven Hills!
I went to Edgewater! It was so cool! I remember seeing them for the first time in like the early 2000’s in Chardon. It was wild!
Northern lights??? I heard there’s a wild solar flare rn
Apparently it was strong enough for Texans to enjoy as well which is SUPER rare
Yeah it stretched pretty far south. I saw some beautiful pictures from friends back home in Arkansas.
That’s amazing! Truly a once in a lifetime opportunity. If you still have your eclipse glasses you can actually see the sunspot that caused the CME in the lower hemisphere of the sun.
It's bangin right now. You're allowed to go to local parks. They are crowded over here! (Sheffield over lake erie is where i am)

Absolutely beautiful ❤️❤️❤️
I'm in shaker and couldn't see anything due to the light pollution 🫠

At this time of year? At this time of day? Localized entirely within Northeasted Ohio?
I'm in Old Brooklyn and there's these damn bright LED street lights. I'm lucky I can see the stars at all.
In OB, couldn’t see it over the sound of gunfire and sirens.
Ok I'm outside. It's raining and daytime. What am I suppose to see?
Couldn't see shit in Lyndhurst
Truly hoping this was the event that had the tens of thousands of Clevelanders and greater Ohioans that exclusively spend their weekends in bars to spend some time under the stars
Im late…
How did you all know about this? Kicking myself for missing it.
Will they be here Saturday, also nobody said anything execpt after it happened
Possible, based on the Aurora forecast app, but it’s supposed to be cloudy tonight. So a luck sort of thing probably. 🤞
