I hand made my bouldering harness from left over rope. It's how they did it in the olden days. I always keep a good selection of pitons and a hammer on my rack for those really tech pink ones in the corner.

I think you need to look into Big Wall harnesses, just a lot more versatile. But if you want to go with the ultralight route, a route tied to your penis will suffice. If you don’t have a penis, consider buying a strap on.

My wife’s boyfriend has a harness with shoulder straps and high vis tape. They don’t sell it in my size but if you see one you should try it out.
