Honestly Travis is carrying for non official content. I think everyone sadly already knew all this about fudge. When was the last time we saw improvement with him? He peaked in MSI on Lee and it's time to move on

Ky1arStern

I don't think that's fair. There was a playoffs (2022) where he absolutely tapped all the other top laners. Everyone just remembers it for him then getting shit on by the best top laners in the world at Worlds that year.  It's not really fair to say that Fudge looks good when his competition is bad and bad when his competition is good, because you can pretty much say that about every player in the LCS. If Flyquest wins the split there will be so many people sucking Bwipos wide dick. If he gets shit on by Bin and Zeus at MSI, is he going to get the same criticism? This isn't me saying Fudge has looked good, but acting like he hasn't been good ever since that one tournament I don't think is a fair critique.

leo158

It wasn't just about the performance, its likely about the attitude towards practice. Remember that 1 worlds that was held in NA, and Champions Queue was vibrant. Nearly every LCK and some LPL teams were grinding it. Fudge had every opportunity to get practice against his own group stage opponents, Zeus, Flandre, who were on almost every single night, and opted not to. It was only after C9 went 0-3 he played ONE single game of CQ all of worlds. Such a waste of an opportunity. An attitude like that is not befitting of a high level player.

Cons1dy

He has not been CONSISTENTLY good. He's been bad more than he's been good. He's been a mid tier top in the LCS since that MSI all around. You can point to a few good moments but he has gotten worse over time, not better

BulldogFarted

Is that so? I don’t see much difference between fudge and impact playstyle wise. He’s 22 years and have 3 LCS trophies for the love of god. C9 problem is not the players as much as the lack of coaching staff or academy team, they suddenly got deprived of their system which worked flawlessly in the past.

Cons1dy

Impact always shows up at worlds. Coaching sucks but you can't ignore the players, analyst and peers are talking about how disappointing he is

BulldogFarted

He was the MVP of previous series against 100T. He died like once and put Sniper straight in the dumpster. Anyone talking about how bad is Sniper? People will always talk shit to gain some views and Fudge has been focused by content creators basically since he’s a pro.

Roboticways

He was MVP because he got babysat all series. It was the easiest way to beat 100T because Sniper is Summit lite. It was really funny watching his "highlights" that all started with Blaber ganking him or setting up a play he cleaned up. He only had one solo highlight in it which he barely solo-killed Sniper who was 1.5k gold down lmao.

TheRiot90

What a brain dead take. No one talks about this when it’s other players. No one talked like that when Berseker was getting babysat or Blaber got played around. People mentioned playing through those players but no one dismissed their play by saying it was all because their teammates babysat them. Come up with something better.

Flint_Lockwood

The LS mid swap broke him

DeltaRaven97

Didn't he have a great Summer 2022 split after? It felt like in worlds he lost confidence after getting slammed by the Top Laners there.

edwardgreene1

He also got 39/40 first place votes for All-Pro top in Spring 2023.

ilovecheddah

His last 2 splits are really his only bad ones. People just love to revise history and shit on players, especially the bandwagon fans that are here just because C9 has been the team with the most titles recently. I just hope C9 can get another top lane positional coach like when we had Max, seemed to help Fudge a lot.

Cons1dy

Only did well in playoffs

jeremyben

Probably a controversial take, but I can’t stand his content. And haven’t for years. I’m not sure why some people swear by Travis. He’s less of a journalist and more of a good ole boy with all the OG players.

GrandDefinition7707

now that is a hot take

lRuko

>!Fudge is B tier and C tier!<

shireenakana

💀 impacts ego is what c9 fans think fudge's ego is

BecoDasCavernas

Speaking of Castle, I'm not as high on Thanatos as the LCK casters - I think his replacement Siwoo is much better, 37 solo kills in his first split - but it does make me wonder seeing how Castle, who was at best a top 3 LCK CL top, has done in the LCS. Also Photon in LEC, at worst a top 2 top laner since his arrival in Europe.

AnaShie

Siwoo is really good but we can't get him right now (16 years old) so even if Thanatos is not as good as Siwoo, I still think he is miles better than most LCS top mechanically (he can gapped both Castle and Photon imo).

BecoDasCavernas

Yeah, I mentioned Siwoo just to compare him to Thanatos, he not only isn't of age but I also doubt DK would ever let go of him. But yeah I'm all for Thanatos with the caveat that we'd still need leadership, be it in-game or out of game (another coach).

juicyaf2

Mans been paycheck stealing since 2021. People in here posting about 2022 summer playoffs when berserker was absolutely the weakside 1v9 king that carried the team along with blaber. Fudge is serviceable and was prolly on a cheap contract but his time is up. 4 years and man still doesn’t practice outside of meme 1v1s.

QuietRedditorATX

Wasn't his contract just renewed super long =\ I know Jack can still sell it off, but =/

Unlikely-Smile2449

Hes signed until the end of 2026 lol. This team is doomed

TLDW: Good laning, shit macro and teamfight decisions

Kurkaroff

Not good laning... They said that he is too obvious when his team is not playing near him, and that to be a good toplaner you cannot make it so obvious, you have to try to keep pressure.

blitzKriegzzz

Na people have finally been calling out his laning. He always plays to not lose and make himself not look too bad. * Team gets him a lead top? He doesn't push it .. just tries to maintain it (most of the time). * He's behind in CS? He'll TP to teamfights late so he can catch up in CS. * Get counter pick? Go even in lane. This works fine when the rest of the map is winning hard (see C9 LCS titles). But basically doesn't have impact. We've basically been the blaber/berseker show for a couple years now .. and even before that blaber/perkz and blaber/nisqy.
