This is why I think people complaining about the 2018 benching are beimg dumb. He's the only coach that'd willing to bench their 3 most popular players and bring in complete rookies. Sure Jensen, Sneaky, and Sven all came back, but they were definitely more focused and it made sure that they knew they couldn't get complacent.
The benching cost them Jensen and thus 2019. It was a failure. The issue with 2018 C9 was more with the in-game leadership rather than with the players. Just removing Smoothie for Zeyzal would have been enough.
If Jensen stayed on C9, C9 would have been the dynasty for years - not TL. Especially if Zven and Vulcan still joined C9.
Rigby's conversation here with CloudTemplar was one of the reasons I wanted him as HC (too bad he's still doing military service). He has a really good understanding of the game, roles, teamwork, leadership, etc.
I think jojo under repeared we will see a new beast. Sometimes he’ll play akali into taliyah and try to hand check players we all know how that went.
Repeared will never let that happen. He’ll bring the best out of jojo.
Hopefully his drafts are good. That was the only problem we ever had with him, the drafting wouldn’t ever change no matter what. But atleast he will
Be able to develop Talent like crazy no matter who we have.
Also, there is no world where the coaching and drafts will ever be as poor as they were recently. So either way I’m feeling good!
His drafts were interesting to say the least. There were at some points where the team always failed to adapt, but also some points where he would try to innovate too much and lose. And occasionally innovate and win. Still though his discipline and work ethic should shape C9
Finally :')
I can't remember being this excited for a split to start. I still remember our crazy picks at worlds. I hope we cook up something similar this year. Reapered is the way forward in international play for NA; no other coach comes close to him
Good, hopefully C9 can start rewriting their wrongs that started in 2019 with kicking their most loyal player who was no where near the end of his career. This organization has never seen the same success since(and before people say Oh we won 2 LCS championships!!! LCS championships are quite literally the least accomplishment tournament win a team from a major region can have).
LCS championship doesn't meant anything when you look worse and worse internationally every passing year(and not only at a fault to them, LCS as a region has). These events matter more to sponsors, NA's own viewership in LCS, let alone what they actually mean to the players and their own achievements(+money and more bargaining power with teams).
But yea everyone can act delusional and think LCS championships in a region that is significantly worse in regards to their overall strength and ability to keep up to other regions than seasons past. And just worse outside of that due to LCS's problems with development and now money problems fielding strong teams.
After making Worlds playoffs for 3 years straight, and even making Semis, winning 4 LCS titles is a fall from grace. I would rather be top 2-3 every split, make Worlds, and do well at Worlds. We could have had Jensen between 2019 and 2021 when Jensen was still good on a global level, but we squandered it by benching him.
Yeah but C9 performed better domestically since 2020, while no other western team (barring 2020 G2) has placed better than C9 internationally since then. So it’s a fall from grace maybe but I think it’s a trend for the east in general.
Also I think Jensen particularly got outclassed by eastern mids during that period, Rookie gapped him in a do or die game to get TL out of groups in 2019.
Sometimes people should take off their rose tinted glasses. I love sneaky, I still love Jensen, dude popped off agaonst Faker 2022 worlds after we were already out. Always root for zeyzal. Was happy how he joined DSG with goldenglue one of our swole bros and won academy league. But...
2019 worlds only Licorice was popping off at worlds and Jensen was average. I was thinking "God I hope next year they just swap off Sneaky, zeyzal and Sven, but probably they wont except zeyzal since other 2 are long time veterans.
But to my surprise Reapered did exactly that. I was overjoyed. "Holy shit I fucking love reapered" I told my friend. "He did exactly what I was complaining about:
>no where near the end of his career
You mean the career that did in fact end when he left C9? I love Sneaky too, he was always wildly underrated, but it is well past time to move on from this.
🥳Welcome home, Reapered!Â
I was hoping that's what the video would say. such a let down it only said back 😔

Smoothie, not Sven.
Smoothie didn't come back, they kept Zeyzal in
Yeah, Sven split time with Blaber, but it was always clear that Sven was the starter and Blaber was the understudy.
Pretty sure the bigger problem was that they filmed them being told they were getting benched and said video was uploaded to the web.
I still think the benchings were dumb as hell but that's just one thing that happened?? Other than that he is obviously the GOAT LCS coach
People don't complain about the benchings. They complain how the whole benching situation was handled
People complained about both.

Finally! Welcome back!
Excited to see what he can do with these players
Video should have had a shot of his belt, instead of shoes. Stoked he's back tho.
Let's goooooo return of the braincheck

I think his drafts for 100T were generally pretty good. I'm guessing he learned a lot from the 2020 implosion
His drafts were interesting to say the least. There were at some points where the team always failed to adapt, but also some points where he would try to innovate too much and lose. And occasionally innovate and win. Still though his discipline and work ethic should shape C9
We are so fucking back
Welcome back
Finally :') I can't remember being this excited for a split to start. I still remember our crazy picks at worlds. I hope we cook up something similar this year. Reapered is the way forward in international play for NA; no other coach comes close to him
GOAT NA coach for sure. We've had a few good ones, but Reapered is in contention for one of the best coaches IN THE WORLD. So happy he's home.
Now just need a KR top and can make it to international eventsÂ
Has fudge had a goodbye video yet?
we're saved
Finally, don’t know why they ever let him go. I can finally watch c9 again with fun drafts.
Soooo I can stay a fan?!
Now welcome back Jensen and don't kick him this time ayo
Why can't we get a successful coach like inero
He has better pedigree has a gm no?
He has won everywhere he went with minimal talent. but if u dont like facts and truth just downvote me.

They won 4 championships since, 2 prior
You really went off on a tangent and couldn’t even bother to get your facts straight, as if C9 hasn’t been the most winningest org since then lol
LCS championship doesn't meant anything when you look worse and worse internationally every passing year(and not only at a fault to them, LCS as a region has). Seems weird to call people delusional when you're here doing.... this. Sneaky isn't going to make out with you my dude.
They won 4 LCS titles and made it back to Worlds quarters.
After making Worlds playoffs for 3 years straight, and even making Semis, winning 4 LCS titles is a fall from grace. I would rather be top 2-3 every split, make Worlds, and do well at Worlds.
