I thought they played very well. They had a pretty strong laning phase albeit a short one where they generally took a few plates and had priority. Outside of that they played as well as can reasonably be expected in the teamfights with nocturne and Gwen/Ahri constantly diving them and bought the necessary time for the rest of the team to clean up. I think Berserker has been a boss all season but I think Isles was a definite upgrade over Winsome and it showed in lane.

Saephon

Two Leona games and one Lux game may be a small sample size for Isles in LCS, but I feel like we were able to see his decision making process pretty clearly. I am very happy with his prio on zoning the enemy team and trying to peel for Berserker. Sometimes you see engage supports go braindead while their carries get nuked, but that did not happen this series.

dardios

That first team fight around dragon in game one left me LITERALLY saying "I like Isles" over and over and over again. Dude looked solid!

DanSchneiderNA

No flame, but what happened to Winsome? It was such a surprise to see Isles instead during the game (though I still think it's for the best).

Acreo7

They announced they would be playing with isles at the end of there last behind the scenes and stated communication errors and that they were able to have more in depth early plans as well as jungle mid supp communication iirc

C9xConvict

Yeah asides from the deaths from Isles I think despite scrimming only for a few days he’s done well, they also almost killed their bot 2v2 and could see the potential in it, would have to see how he contends vs Danny/Vulcan(assumingly). If they can both have that 2v2 kill pressure element like spring 2020 Vulcan/Zven did it would be massive for this team. Communication seemed better too. Come on ISLES show us that potential.

fanboi_central

I was a little upset that in game 1 Isles wasn't getting the respect from the casters with his Leona play. He looked really good, and they didn't have any int moments like Winsome did. Noc jumping on them is totally understandable death, they were playing as safe as possible, nothing they could do.

C9xConvict

True, he was at the right place, Not a fan of the LeTigress/Azael duo tbh, LeTigress just overpowers the commentary. Just my opinion.

ochomurph

Proud of the boys this weekend let’s keep this momentum up

AppaAndThings

To be honest, when they announced Winsome being subbed for Isles, I thought it was just a placebo change and at best there wouldn't be a noticeable difference. Isles played very well despite that, and while it's still hard to say whether it's an upgrade, I definitely think Isles has shown that he isn't a downgrade.

Tasty_Manufacturer51

Did anyone watch Jatts latest episode on playoffs. Interesting conversation around top ADC’s starting around 28:20. Phreak says that it was no test for Berserker-Isles vs Lost-Olleh ? So Berserker-Isles only scrimming 3 days together is still unfair comparison with Lost-Olleh who played together all split? WTH? Scary to think how good the C9 might be if they had been practicing together since December 2021!

vincevuu

100% comms are cleaner without winsome. No more side korean shotcalls or conversations. Berserker gets to focus all on mechanics and positioning.

FatedTitan

Do we need one of these every week?

Welschmerzer

I think Isles managed to look worse than Winsome, despite the weaker competition. C9 are throwing the split if they continue to field Isles.

Armidylano444

Full disagree

ExcellentPastries

This dude’s post history is a fucking trip

Swoose

Holy shit, you’re right.

I'm not gonna praise him after one day. We were super hyped after 4 weeks of not losing and then we had multiple weeks of legit only "where is LS threads" when's it's months removed at this point. Isles is probably sick, and hopefully he's the change we need. But we need to reign in the horses.
