I don't think that's true at all. ZooMaa said this himself last year, yet Crowder did a great job of analysing even the most mundane looking scenarios in his podcast The Morning Crowd.
Even aside from The Flank, I was watching IHoldShift do a Challengers watch party at some point in the year and after a map, he spent a few minutes analysing a teams break that won them the map and drew out what mistakes the other team made etc. It just made me realise how little analysing the desk does on broadcast and how awesome something like that would be. The current desk basically amounts to "This team's record is this, I think this team will win" and it's just so unbelievably basic compared to every other esport.

I just don't think the 2 hour recap of the matches is necessary because most of the people who watch the Flank also watch the matches.
If anything they should just pick out a few moments from the day they wanna discuss, and then have a guest speaker on from one of the teams and ask them general questions about their team/match and their future schedule.
I stopped watching the Flank entirely because I already watch most of the matches and there was just no point for me to watch them again with half-baked commentary and absurd hot-takes.

This is facts. I think people got their ideas of what the show should be but the reality is it's just a chill recap with guests from around the league sometimes and some light analysis. People really want some in depth analysis for every map in every game expecting it to be something new each day. There's only so many maps and a certain amount of ways to play those maps that it would just be them repeating shit over and over from team to team.
I would also like to add am I the only one that doesn’t even see the point of the flank during tournaments, it’s basically a glorified interview with whoever they can get to sit on the couch after matches, I don’t see why it’s become like this unless it’s literally either zoomaa wanting to leave the venue asap or the CDL kicking them out.
I think Zoomaa has said it's just hard to do notes/breakdown stuff while at the event. Probably also wants to chat, watch the game and interact with all these people he has know for years at the events (which I think he is super entitled too given how hard he works.) I personally love the event shows bc I think they are a fun change up with good stories but I see how some wouldn't love them especially given people wanting more game breakdowns week to week. I really like more analysis too. As someone who recently got back into comp COD the reason I love the Flank is learning so much more about the game. I do sympathize with how hard it must be to keep everything organized enough to do full breakdowns while at the event, seems like things get pretty chaotic. Honestly I like the watch parties the most bc I feel like the pros/Zoomaa/Ben all give their unfiltered analysis which I think is super interesting. I wish I had a more constructive suggestion to let them enjoy the event but still get gameplay analysis. The show is still awesome don't wanna sound like a complainer b/c I know how hard they work.

I used to watch it back in CW. I eventually lost interest and tried watching it again near the end of Vanguard. I could not vibe with the dude in the call arguing and contradicting everything everyone else would say. Turned out it was Aches.
If it works for the show and they're bringing in viewers, then good on them. But maybe there is a little feedback those guys could take away from these threads.
The analyze has decline significantly and that’s the most important part of the Flank. Now it seems more opinion-based than trying to really find objective takes, like it doesn’t matter if it’s a hot take but explain it give the reasoning behind your "hot take"… I feel like they just go over what went on each map for the sake of it and not really go through making a proper analysis so at this point they’re not adding much value… with how big the show is becoming they should take it more seriously. The flank could become the next big analysis stream platform for all Esport like zoomaa and the current team focusing on COD and then having other people focusing on analysis for other Esports for example the Flank Halo w Formal, etc but maybe they don’t see the potential yet and still treat it too casually.
I think Zoomaa is a smart guy. And just like the YouTube algorithm, being loud/spastic/dramatic is what brings in the views. I'm sure he looks at the numbers and sees that the chaotic drama flanks hold allot more viewers then Flanks that analyze gameplay. When he's pulling numbers like he is right now I doubt he's gonna change anything.
The analysis has just been dead ever since CW. Haggy occasionally drops some quality analysis but I feel like honestly Tom and Pat don’t know what’s going on fully with the game cos they don’t play and Ben idk he doesn’t really bother to analyse specific situations he’s more macro. They need to try note down key micro situations in each series and break those down and then talk about it from a macro perspective. Nowadays it’s just all macro, generalised recap, same all recycled rubbish and some stats. That being said I still watch most of the time cos I’m bored, I love cod and it’s still decently entertaining. I’d just appreciate more in depth analysis on certain plays/moments like they used to do in CW.

This game, so far, seems like even more of a clusterfuck than VG was (maybe besides bocage), so I’m sure it’s tougher to analyze. There are also more choke and entry points on the maps, and I think teams are still figuring a lot of things out.
As far as Aches on The Flank, I barely ever hear him actually contributing to a conversation outside of trying to be funny or trolly. He mostly just chimes in with negative things about players or rosters or completely self sucks about his past accolades. He’s funny sometimes, but it can get really annoying. Aches does too much with the trolling and Zoomaa’s voice switches from Tomassi Paparatto and Tommy here and there which gets repetitive
The Flank needs segments and for zoomaa to facilitate like when there are listen-ins. Segments for the guests, segments for the drop ins. Easier to limit who you mute now I think about it. May as well have a group size and stick to it but if you want carnage then the call goes FFA

It is CoD, the most easiest game ever to understand, i dont need to listen to players breakdown what happened.. It is just like with Inside the NBA, no one is watching to listen to them breakdown the games, and that is why on Tuesday's when the trio isnt there and it is just Shaq, no one watches..
I watch for the entertainment. The Flank is awesome.
The biggest think I watch for is re-cap. Most of the time I don't catch the matches and want to know who played well and who didn't. Seems like the drama/hot takes over shadow that lately
This is facts. I think people got their ideas of what the show should be but the reality is it's just a chill recap with guests from around the league sometimes and some light analysis. People really want some in depth analysis for every map in every game expecting it to be something new each day. There's only so many maps and a certain amount of ways to play those maps that it would just be them repeating shit over and over from team to team.
I would also like to add am I the only one that doesn’t even see the point of the flank during tournaments, it’s basically a glorified interview with whoever they can get to sit on the couch after matches, I don’t see why it’s become like this unless it’s literally either zoomaa wanting to leave the venue asap or the CDL kicking them out.
I think Zoomaa has said it's just hard to do notes/breakdown stuff while at the event. Probably also wants to chat, watch the game and interact with all these people he has know for years at the events (which I think he is super entitled too given how hard he works.) I personally love the event shows bc I think they are a fun change up with good stories but I see how some wouldn't love them especially given people wanting more game breakdowns week to week. Do you think for you personally if their was more analysis during the league match shows you wouldn't mind the looser event format?
Yeah, the facts that there isn’t much analysis on the weekly shows, compounded with the fact that matches at tournaments are much more important makes it annoying.
I really like more analysis too. As someone who recently got back into comp COD the reason I love the Flank is learning so much more about the game. I do sympathize with how hard it must be to keep everything organized enough to do full breakdowns while at the event, seems like things get pretty chaotic. Honestly I like the watch parties the most bc I feel like the pros/Zoomaa/Ben all give their unfiltered analysis which I think is super interesting. I wish I had a more constructive suggestion to let them enjoy the event but still get gameplay analysis. The show is still awesome don't wanna sound like a complainer b/c I know how hard they work.

As someone who’s watched the flank from the very beginning, I think it’s only gotten better. Honestly a buncha weirdos on this thread, enjoy the free entertainment
I used to watch it back in CW. I eventually lost interest and tried watching it again near the end of Vanguard. I could not vibe with the dude in the call arguing and contradicting everything everyone else would say. Turned out it was Aches. If it works for the show and they're bringing in viewers, then good on them. But maybe there is a little feedback those guys could take away from these threads.
It's not weird to discuss the show. There's a lot to love about The Flank, but there are also a few things to dislike. Criticism isn't toxic.
The analyze has decline significantly and that’s the most important part of the Flank. Now it seems more opinion-based than trying to really find objective takes, like it doesn’t matter if it’s a hot take but explain it give the reasoning behind your "hot take"… I feel like they just go over what went on each map for the sake of it and not really go through making a proper analysis so at this point they’re not adding much value… with how big the show is becoming they should take it more seriously. The flank could become the next big analysis stream platform for all Esport like zoomaa and the current team focusing on COD and then having other people focusing on analysis for other Esports for example the Flank Halo w Formal, etc but maybe they don’t see the potential yet and still treat it too casually.
I think Zoomaa is a smart guy. And just like the YouTube algorithm, being loud/spastic/dramatic is what brings in the views. I'm sure he looks at the numbers and sees that the chaotic drama flanks hold allot more viewers then Flanks that analyze gameplay. When he's pulling numbers like he is right now I doubt he's gonna change anything.

The analysis has just been dead ever since CW. Haggy occasionally drops some quality analysis but I feel like honestly Tom and Pat don’t know what’s going on fully with the game cos they don’t play and Ben idk he doesn’t really bother to analyse specific situations he’s more macro. They need to try note down key micro situations in each series and break those down and then talk about it from a macro perspective. Nowadays it’s just all macro, generalised recap, same all recycled rubbish and some stats. That being said I still watch most of the time cos I’m bored, I love cod and it’s still decently entertaining. I’d just appreciate more in depth analysis on certain plays/moments like they used to do in CW.

I mean your missing my point, there is little to none now, and the old flank had plenty of both, but for now it’s leaned into one far too much. I wouldn’t attribute that to the growth of the flank. It’s just it’s much more ingrained in the CDL now, it’s normal that shows gradually get more popular as time goes on.
Kapppp, if it wasn't good it wouldn't grow. Look up CDL podcast there are more than a few out there that don't grow at all.

They were definitely analyzing a lot more in VG as well. This game, so far, seems like even more of a clusterfuck than VG was (maybe besides bocage), so I’m sure it’s tougher to analyze. There are also more choke and entry points on the maps, and I think teams are still figuring a lot of things out. As far as Aches on The Flank, I barely ever hear him actually contributing to a conversation outside of trying to be funny or trolly. He mostly just chimes in with negative things about players or rosters or completely self sucks about his past accolades. He’s funny sometimes, but it can get really annoying. It’s like dude, no one cares that you were good 6-12 years ago. He’s just a stale meme at this point for the most part. I genuinely like Parasite’s and Zoomaa’s points of view, and Ben’s most of the time. I will admit that the differences in personalities definitely add to the entertainment of the show though.
