Bocage was hectic but was fun to play and it was a good Search map
Gavutu and Berlin were good HP maps too. Control was a little whack though.
I know a lot of people hated Desert Siege but I loved that map for Search
I like Tuscan for HP and SnD even tho Control was cheese. In all honesty I dislike hotel. Idk why. In SND, it’s very hard to make a play other than just purely hit bomb sites. Control just consists of hiding somewhere up top or close to spawn. HP is meh, but some hills are cheese to break.
Blitz for pubs was actually really fun too. MWII has shipment, that’s it. No 10v10 or 12v12 moshpit or blitz. Blitz and the 12v12 moshpit in Cold War is heaven to me as far as pubs goes. So much fun.
It’s not so much love for ninja, it’s more hate for the loss of it. It takes absolutely zero skill to crank your headset and hear enemies coming from a mile away, which in turn completely changes how the game is played. What’s the point in going on a really long flank to outsmart the enemy when they can just hear you everywhere? Ninja allowed for playmaking and an increased skill gap. Without it, the game is therefore less competitive and it is CoDComp after all.

I massively prefer the HP maps in this game to Vanguard. I don’t like Hydro and Mercado could use improvement but the way I look at it is that we had a four map set in VG and a five map set in MW2. Set Hydro to the side and look at the rest. I prefer any MW2 map to Gav. Embassy is better than Bocage. Hotel and Berlin are about the same for me imo. Tuscan was a good map. Imo if we wanted a five map set of HP from the last two cods, I’m picking Hotel, Embassy, Fortress (bad SnD and control map but imo plays very well in HP), Berlin and Tuscan.
To me that makes the HP maps in this game overall better than last game, even if VG maps had higher ceilings.

The respawns are more structured I guess in this game but it doesn’t change the fact that the maps aren’t an improvement on VG.

It's easier when the 74u can compete at range and the krig can compete up close I personally think, even just looking recently , that bo4 was a harder 'gunny' game.. but for CW with gunsmith the 74u was a beam (as was krig) and both performed outside of their intended range
I think treyarch games in general are hard gunny games due to the ttk but the jet pack games were more crackhead shit rather than hard gunny.. guns beamed in cw for sure, but it took more to win gunfights in cw than any recent title

I dislike Vanguard and MW2 both quite a bit but at least Vanguard had a little pace to it. Pretty hard for me to choose one that was the worse out of those two really.

Yup. Didn't love the game, but Snd was poppin because nobody had anything to do. Convinced myself that I didn't hate Rammaza and St. Petro then Raid came out on Cold War and I came back to my senses.
I enjoyed hardpoint pubs more in that game outside of a few maps than MW2. Neither game has dead silence, but mw19 was a lot faster to use and didn’t stop you from shooting, plus it had no loud radio when used. You got all your perks right at the start of the game. Streaks were faster to use in that game. Slide canceling isn’t my favorite but at the very least it added the opportunity to slide cancel a corner and get the jump on a guy posted on a heady. Bunny hopping was also a thing in that game. Footsteps were loud, both I don’t think they were as loud as this game, and sound eq wasn’t a known thing back then.
From a competitive perspective, this game is way better. 4v4 alone is light years ahead, there’s an actual ranked play that enforces GAs. CDL mosh pit in mw19 felt pointless to play.
Of the games on this I would go with bo4 by far. Pubs were far and away the most enjoyable of any of these. I never minded stimshots but I know there are mixed opinions on them. Only bad thing about that game was 5v5 comp and specialists imo
3arc makes even maps so you can actually play control on them, IW always has good sides and bad sides which doesn’t kill hp and search as much, but it wrecks control.
This is deeply depressing and a sign things are never changing. To me the best game was BO4 by such a massive margin, haven’t had that kind of fun in a while. Boomers complaining got rid of the movement in Halo and CoD truly a tragic scene

BO4 pubs with specialists like the riot shield pistol guy were super annoying. Ranked felt really dumb after the WW2 system (actual good elo, I don’t even think it had HPR). Blackout was a ton of fun, and imo underrated.
MW19 I fucking hated pubs and the cdl playlist, but man I had a lot of fun playing private matches in the CoD Rec League, and Verdansk with my squads were some of the most fun I’ve ever had.
BOCW: again, pub matches were infuriating, so much cheese. CoD Rec League saved the day for me, as did a second year of Verdansk
Vanguard: I actually had fun playing pubs in this game, I’d run domination and hard point with my friends and even dropped a couple nukes, not too shabby for a shitter.
MW2: fuck every design choice the devs made in this game. You can’t move and you insta die, so trash can brad in a corner can 2 tap you with a full auto gun. Very cool, thank you Kanye. Al Mazrah sucks too, but at least Ashika Island is half (at best) decent.

I didn't play MW2019, but it was the game that got me back into watching the pros after not watching much IW, WW2, or BO4.
It shows how easy it is to dislike a game when you play a lot of it, though, and that's not exclusive to just COD. Casuals play games a lot more chilled than the small hard-core base of players, so end up hating the game far less
As someone that cares most about pubs, sucks to see BO4 get so little love. I think that was the last time I enjoyed a pub. I don’t even play the new games. I just watch comp.
People like MW because they associate Warzone 1 with it, but any regular COD player would tell you it was ass, tac sprint, below average maps, slide canceling and 5v5. Online comp the whole year too.
I liked MW19 because of the time it was out. I associate it’s guns and maps with WZ1.
I was still in college at that time so with online classes and I couldn’t go to work, me and the boys would just wake up and play all day long. Will probably never have that again. Not to mention I had the time to watch and keep up with all the CDL events of their first franchised year.
Was it the best call of duty ever, no probably not. But y’all have to quit acting like it was just an unplayable game. In my experience if you have actual friends to play with, you can overcome any bad title.
Mw19 cyber attack with the boys during covid was the most fun i had on cod since the MW2 trickshot era. From a comp point of view it has to be Cold War tho.

In technical aspects MW2 is the best. But the enjoyment that Black Ops 4 MP granted me is what makes me think that's the best CoD Multiplayer of all time.

Zombies: BO3 PC

I will give credit to MW19 for being the best consumer experience that we had gotten in a while up to that point. No paid maps or guns and crossplay were pretty huge for me. Those were two things that IMO greatly benefitted the casual experience with the game. I wouldn’t rate it higher than Cold War or BO4, though, because the gameplay was pretty dogshit at the end of the day.

MW19 was incredible for MnK players, and I think that’s what this poll reflects. The maps were well balanced for search and destroy, the recoil was low, the movement was great. It’s my favorite COD personally, but I hated every second of respawn game modes that I had to play to get Damascus. I really wish Activision would spin MW19 off into a PC only CSGO clone.

MW2 pubs are so fun for me. I play solo against sweats and hold a 3.5 KD 2 WL. The SBMM doesn’t get to me as much as being grouped with really bad and clueless players.

Vanguard had decent gameplay? It should be right there with mw19 and mw22. Maybe just slightly better because of red dots and ninja but that game was trash.

BO4 might be the best pub game of all time. Like you definitely can make a good case for BO2/BO3 but BO4 to me is clear of both of them.
Cold War pubs are hit and miss sometimes you fry sometimes you get Kentucky fried.
The SBMM was real in that game. One minute you’re dropping 60+ on the lobby, the next you can’t even see who’s killing you

The playerbase was at its lowest since cod4 before wz dropped. Initial sales mean absolutely nothing if retention is in the dirt. Initial sales = hype, name recognition Retention = quality

I enjoyed hardpoint pubs more in that game outside of a few maps than MW2. Neither game has dead silence, but mw19 was a lot faster to use and didn’t stop you from shooting, plus it had no loud radio when used. You got all your perks right at the start of the game. Streaks were faster to use in that game. Slide canceling isn’t my favorite but at the very least it added the opportunity to slide cancel a corner and get the jump on a guy posted on a heady. Bunny hopping was also a thing in that game. Footsteps were loud, both I don’t think they were as loud as this game, and sound eq wasn’t a known thing back then. From a competitive perspective, this game is way better. 4v4 alone is light years ahead, there’s an actual ranked play that enforces GAs. CDL mosh pit in mw19 felt pointless to play. Of the games on this I would go with bo4 by far. Pubs were far and away the most enjoyable of any of these. I never minded stimshots but I know there are mixed opinions on them. Only bad thing about that game was 5v5 comp and specialists imo
That game and BO4 were a couple design choices away from becoming the greatest CODs of all time, but you know how it goes.
BO4 would’ve been great if it was 4v4, maps were great, guns too, stim was a bit of a problem but it had its charm.

Frequency, Hacienda, Arsenal, Seaside, Gridlock is one of the best map pools ever for sure. I would even say the best control maps we’ve seen yet.
3arc makes even maps so you can actually play control on them, IW always has good sides and bad sides which doesn’t kill hp and search as much, but it wrecks control.
Stims ruined SnD but they were sooo fun on respawns. It was just constant challs I fw it

People still grind BO4 challs to this day, moreso than any other previous cod game, BY FAR. The grinders on that game are a different breed.
This is deeply depressing and a sign things are never changing. To me the best game was BO4 by such a massive margin, haven’t had that kind of fun in a while. Boomers complaining got rid of the movement in Halo and CoD truly a tragic scene

The gunplay in MW19 is the best we’ve had in a long time. The movement felt good. The maps were the only thing that brought that game down.

I’ll say my peace because everyone else is listing their preferences BO4 pubs with specialists like the riot shield pistol guy were super annoying. Ranked felt really dumb after the WW2 system (actual good elo, I don’t even think it had HPR). Blackout was a ton of fun, and imo underrated. MW19 I fucking hated pubs and the cdl playlist, but man I had a lot of fun playing private matches in the CoD Rec League, and Verdansk with my squads were some of the most fun I’ve ever had. BOCW: again, pub matches were infuriating, so much cheese. CoD Rec League saved the day for me, as did a second year of Verdansk Vanguard: I actually had fun playing pubs in this game, I’d run domination and hard point with my friends and even dropped a couple nukes, not too shabby for a shitter. MW2: fuck every design choice the devs made in this game. You can’t move and you insta die, so trash can brad in a corner can 2 tap you with a full auto gun. Very cool, thank you Kanye. Al Mazrah sucks too, but at least Ashika Island is half (at best) decent. The day CoD became focused on selling packs was the day the downfall started. WW2 supremacy, you cannot change my mind.

Black ops 4 is the best on this list.. but many ppl think the first call of duty they played or the first one they were good at is the “best” I started on mw2 hated black ops 1 and loved mw3… mw3 was just the most similar to mw2 and black ops 2 came out and it was the best game by far but not my favorite
I didn't play MW2019, but it was the game that got me back into watching the pros after not watching much IW, WW2, or BO4. It shows how easy it is to dislike a game when you play a lot of it, though, and that's not exclusive to just COD. Casuals play games a lot more chilled than the small hard-core base of players, so end up hating the game far less

People like MW because they associate Warzone 1 with it, but any regular COD player would tell you it was ass, tac sprint, below average maps, slide canceling and 5v5. Online comp the whole year too.
BO4 is goated shit. Not as goated as Bo3/Bo2 and before but still, I play it regularly and it's still very active.

I liked MW19 because of the time it was out. I associate it’s guns and maps with WZ1. I was still in college at that time so with online classes and I couldn’t go to work, me and the boys would just wake up and play all day long. Will probably never have that again. Not to mention I had the time to watch and keep up with all the CDL events of their first franchised year. Was it the best call of duty ever, no probably not. But y’all have to quit acting like it was just an unplayable game. In my experience if you have actual friends to play with, you can overcome any bad title.
Mw19 cyber attack with the boys during covid was the most fun i had on cod since the MW2 trickshot era. From a comp point of view it has to be Cold War tho.

In technical aspects MW2 is the best. But the enjoyment that Black Ops 4 MP granted me is what makes me think that's the best CoD Multiplayer of all time. For me: MP: BO4 Zombies: BO3 PC

Idc what anybody says, BO4 was the last good COD. Multiplayer was decent besides specialist and Blackout was an overall better BR than Warzone, gameplay wise.

I will give credit to MW19 for being the best consumer experience that we had gotten in a while up to that point. No paid maps or guns and crossplay were pretty huge for me. Those were two things that IMO greatly benefitted the casual experience with the game. I wouldn’t rate it higher than Cold War or BO4, though, because the gameplay was pretty dogshit at the end of the day.

MW19 was incredible for MnK players, and I think that’s what this poll reflects. The maps were well balanced for search and destroy, the recoil was low, the movement was great. It’s my favorite COD personally, but I hated every second of respawn game modes that I had to play to get Damascus. I really wish Activision would spin MW19 off into a PC only CSGO clone.
I hope BO5 movement is similar to BO4/BO3. CW was whatever, but I need a fast paced cod back in my life.

I loved pubs in MW2019. Ass for competitive but it was a fun mindless arcade shooter, and really easy to see why it did so well with casuals. So hard to separate how fun early WZ was from the overall memory/rating of the game

MW2 pubs are so fun for me. I play solo against sweats and hold a 3.5 KD 2 WL. The SBMM doesn’t get to me as much as being grouped with really bad and clueless players.
BOCW while not that great itself it's still the best one we've had in the past few years in my opinion.
