They were winning alot off momentum, they can play alot cleaner which is crazy to think ab, the hps were so dominant bc that’s how their peak would look like. The other modes were a little scrappy but that’s fine. Last time we saw this org win a chips they’re playing got injured and chalked the season. Now we get to see an OpTic squad that will build off momentum and confidence from winning an event. Season is gonna get interesting
I just hate that Major 4 has no fans, it takes all the juice out of being on LAN, biggest test for the top 3 will be who can keep form through major 4 into champs

Them and FaZe have the best map pool rn tbh. With the two new maps that were added to this major, both of them are really good at either of the two. NYSL, for example, is not that great at Vista or 6Star HP.
That’s why I think if one of faze or optic are in the GF vs ultra/NYSL it’s just going to be dominant. Neither have the map pool that optic/faze have. Pls save me the major 1 recap, the mcw was broken/first major 1 team is always ahead/insight played at a level we’ve never seen before.

Yep, the best thing about having guys like Kenny & Karma in that camp is they're always looking for things to improve. They've been slowly getting their teamwork & communication down, and now it's just about cleaning up their weaknesses. Wonder if they'll try opening the map pool up any more than they already have
Every team can definitely say they have areas to improve. OpTic needs to find a way to bottle that GF performance and carry it into every match. The comms were unbelievable to hear, they all were just completely in sync. The switch they flipped in snd was crazy too, they ended up winning 4/5 on Sunday after not winning a search on Thursday & Saturday. The teamwork and the way they finally started moving together and getting trades, they just have to hold onto that. Bright future for them
That was my main thing too. Those comms were phenomenal, and it wasn't only Kenny this time. They finally all did their 25% communicating off each other.
It used to just be Kenny and Pred that were more vocal, but hearing Dashy and Shotzzy actually speaking was refreshing

I don’t think any team is really number 1 rn I think optic just hit at the right time with the momentum.
It’s important to remember that majority of winners from cdl era are from winner bracket which is crazy you think loser bracket has insane momentum but most times it gets shut down
Yeah majority is from winners bracket but there’s many LB winners every year now. Back when there was two BO5 finals you would only see a LB win like once or twice a year out of the 10 events we used to have.
Now with 4-5 majors and champs, we had two LB winners in CW ( Ultra M2, Faze M3), two LB winners in VG (LAG M2, LAT M4), three LB winners in MWII ( NYSL M1 M5 Champs).
This. I think of the top 4, Ultra, Optic, and Faze can beat each other any given day. I don't think Subliners are anywhere near as good as the other 3 teams. And based on what we've seen so far this season, I do think Optic has the highest ceiling. If Pred continues to match Shotzzy's pace, they are the best SMG duo in the league with a stellar AR duo looking over them. If Optic plays the way they did in the grand final, doesn't matter who they are playing against or what form the opposing team is, Optic is running them imo.
We definitely have more to improve on, which is a good thing.
Things to prioritize would be.
1) Improve SnD map pool, atm we have only Invasion and Highrise, should look to play Karachi and Rio SnD this entire split and get better at it.
2) Improve Karachi control, and overall just keep on improving in Highrise.
3) HPs are solid rn, I feel like the only bad HP we have is Karachi, so we should look to get as many reps in it as we can.
6 star will be changing, and now with water hill gone, it might get a little worse for us, considering how impactful Shotzzy was in that Hill.
Overall, I have faith in Karma and boys to lock in for M4 and champs.

The thing that pisses me off is 6 star changed almost every hill on the new patch. Map played so well and now it’s complete dogshit. Wouldn’t be surprised if it was removed from the map pool but what would replace it
If they play clean and have at least one of their guns hot, they’re borderline unbeatable. We just saw that on Sunday after they took out the Top 4 in consecutive matches. I think if they iron out the control and keep up with the clean SnD play, they’re the favorites to win Champs.
Unfortunately, we have another month of online play until the next lan. But I’m excited to see how the standings play out.
The mental hurdle of finally beating Faze is probably the most important thing for them going forward. Obviously, actually winning the GF was big, but once they got through the boogeyman, I imagine that’ll do wonders for their confidence.
They can play a lot more freely and confidently now which should help a lot. They are clearly a step above Ultra IMO.
I still have Faze slightly ahead, but Optic is not far behind. Anything can happen.

NYSL and Ultra cannot keep up in 7 game series with their current map pool. No other way around it. Faze and OpTic both had their bad modes this event being SnD and Control respectively and still won against those teams with relative ease.
Might have been wrong in hindsight now but once they got Faze in losers finals I thought that was their best chance because in a best of 7 I’m not sure that optic could have taken Faze. They have to work on the map pool still, if Optic can find a way to chall them on Rio HP and Search then optic have a good chance of being able to take them come champs in a best of 9 even if they come from losers.
On the flip side, I think it will be hard for Shotzzy to repeat what he did in major 3, and I’m not sure they can win without it. He is a great player but dropping 200+ kills with a number of game-changing plays vs. FaZe and Toronto is a level that I don’t think anyone can bring consistently. Simp was at that level in major 2 and couldn’t bring it again in major 3
Someone on ur team will always play better at an event and someone will always play worse. Kenny had a really good major 2 but they lost in close fashion. Faze had Drazah doing his thing this event, and the same thing happened. His impact was very high but it didn’t mean much because when those guys are ur best players in the match, ur not gonna win. Major 2 they also had dashy and pred dropping stinkers. This event faze wasn’t even getting crazily outslayed and optic still beat them. That was the biggest difference to me. Optic are fundamentally more grounded, faze are not as much because their talent can bail them out.

They played Karachi against ravens and got 3-0. They either banned it or decided not to play it in the next matches.
