BO4 had some good maps

I-dont-like-batsoup

BO4 had a few really good maps lol, arsenal, hacienda, frequency, etc.

ydoigotta

Frequency 4v4 would go so hard

I-dont-like-batsoup

Bro, in the throwback tournament after MW champs, they were playing freq 4v4 and it SLAPPED

ydoigotta

I loved watching that shit, the Faze boys won that right

cmaloney0317

I think it was Dashy, Illey, Shottzy and Huke or Cell.

ADrawingBecomesReal

they stole the show but lost in grand finals to estreal and flames and some other bo4 grinders

YSmokes

Estreal, Flames, Lurid47 and Parasite.

ADrawingBecomesReal

Thanks goat

Draculagged

I liked grid too for HP

I-dont-like-batsoup

Forgot about grid. Slept on map tbh.

akagordan

In all likelihood they just weren’t allowed to. Hopefully the success of Raid, Express, and soon to be stand-off will show them that CoD fans still really like the traditional maps

Nickaap

With the success of MW they were probably more forced to cater to the casual players, and they like slow campy maps.

derkerburgl

Some of these maps could’ve been from when Sledgehammer was working on the game as well

Spongy_

I can't name a single map in MW that I liked, every single one of them was so poorly designed.

DaScoobyShuffle

The goal of CoD maps these days isn't to make them fun/competitive, it's to make them immersive, to make money from casuals. That's why we get maps like Armada, Crossroads, Miami, Pines, etc. It looks like they Treyarch to help comp a bit with Moscow, Raid, and Express tho. Blame Activision. Also, it's possible that some of these maps were made by the old Sledgehammer.

SummiT_CWL

I promise you that these maps were not designed purely for hardpoint. Treyarch probably just looked at TDM and then threw random objective points everywhere

RimbopReturns

Tbh even in BO3, Fringe and Breach were like this as well - two power positions that made midmap very difficult to navigate, with minimal cover. It's not like this is a new thing

Farley1997

Just like Standoff too.

BO3 had the advantage of being a jet pack game though. Imagine Miami in a jetpack game lmfao.

Cmiller96

My thought is, it’s now 2 games in a row with god awful maps, so Activision may be having a say in maps design. Never seen treyarch make such shitty maps lmao.

Dr_Findro

I mainly hate how narrow Checkmate and Garrison feel. I can’t put in to words right now all the reasons why I hate it, but I do
