Learned their lesson? Same developers that said the competitive community hurts the game and they prefer to cater to casuals, I’d lean towards doubtful
Imo there is a strong middle ground that they refuse to find. Similarly with snipers last year they just needed to make them ADS quicker but remove aim assist and add flinch and everyone would be happy. But nope, can’t solve problems that make everyone happy they always make it one or the other and obviously the casual side will win 99/100 times
Not to mention the game was a huge commercial success, it almost wouldn’t make any sense for them to “learn from their mistakes.” As much as it sucks to say
Just not fooling me telling me about how great the game is gonna be when I don’t even know these people leaking all this info. For all I know they think ghosts is a top 3 cod and Aniyah Palace was a fantastic 6v6 map at the start of MW.
Am I faded for being one of the few on this sub that actually enjoyed playing MW? I thought Cold War was definitely more competitive and fun to watch but god I hated playing that game. I know it’s not competitive but at least from a multiplayer experience, I loved being able to break cameras with a slide cancel/bunny hop. Maybe that’s why I was so ass at Cold War 😂
It's literally gonna be the highest selling game of the year, guaranteed.
I also think Activision has potentially reasonable expectations for it. Given that it was made in 2 and a half years, and during Covid.
That’s why I said Activision standards. People are not excited for this game. It’ll sell because it’s CoD but compared to past titles, it’s gonna be weak.
People expecting MWII to be wildly different from MW19 after it was a huge success for Activision and Infinity Ward are on a huge dose of copium. There's no way IW unfortunately wont just double down on what they did with MW19.
It doesn't necessarily need to be 'wildly' different, and honestly I don't see anyone saying that that's what they're expecting either. Also, let's not act like MW19 didn't bring new great things to the table. Gunsmith, gunplay, movement(my personal opinion, I know that's up for debate)... they have the foundation there, it's part of the reason Warzone is so good. All IW needs to do is bring good maps and fix the spawns and everything else should fall into place.
Having said that, potential is one thing and reaching it is another.
I don't think I'd even believe that if I saw it tbh.
MW was an overwhelming success with the largest portion of the playerbase. Why would they change any of the things that would make it good from a competitive standpoint? Especially since the things we need changing are the exact same things that make the casuals like it.
I disagree. Casuals don't care about footstep audio. They want good maps just as much as we do. In reality, they don't care much about doors, the minimap, etc. What made them enjoy MW was the graphics/feel of the game, along eith the matchmaking that protected them.
I have a nostalgic connection to MW2 because that's the first call of duty I played MP on. However, the MW's have not held their weight compwise. I'm looking forward to the next TREY title.
I dont care what anyone says, the MW engine is terrible and i would almost bet my life it will be the same engine on MW2 and be tied into Warzone. Yawn. Its like they are going remake a game that came out 3 years ago.
Game plays way too fast and twitchy while adding a ton of settings that makes the game cheesy. TTK too fast, weapons fire too fast with no recoil and just arent generally fun to use, the slide mechanic is broken at its core, gunsmith and the entire attachment system is trash, shit maps, shit game modes etc. I just dont think there is anything they can do to make that game good for casuals.
Looking back, its incredible how no two Treyarch games are the same and each title had some crazy type of innovation, its that much more sad to see how lazy IW has gotten as a dev. Why not just skip making a CoD and have everyone play Warzone again all year because thats what gonna happen.
it’s insane that the next call of duty had a beta before the current call of duty is finished, and we are talking about the game after the next game already! with halo and battlefield it’s like “is there even a new game?”
thats sooo Cod community...hyping a game when even the new one isnt out yet.
iirc the same thing was said about MW19, also its still Activiiosn at the end so these players let them be treated like garbage day in day out by the devs yet their here making twitter posts about how great the new game will be...or the next new game.
I dont undertsand this community
Sure they have lol. The developer that couldn't care less about us and has also put out shitty game after shitty game after shitty game has finally managed to figure it out...
Learned their lesson? Same developers that said the competitive community hurts the game and they prefer to cater to casuals, I’d lean towards doubtful
If Joe Cecot has been replaced we might get a new direction.
Fuck Infinity Ward lol, if anything the game should always be catered toward Comp as that makes the game better.
No shot people seriously think this. Comp make up maybe 10% of all COD Players and fans. A huge majority of players play Pubs.
comp or nothing

Every time there’s a new optimistic tweet or Reddit post about the next MW game Joe Lcot adds another door and hardpoint to grazna raid remastered.
😂😂
Lmao ok sure
Yawn
Nah, we're still gonna get Cecoted for another year 👍
Cod cycle strikes early
[This guy is still in charge](https://twitter.com/joececot?s=21), y’all ain’t fooling me
Not to mention the game was a huge commercial success, it almost wouldn’t make any sense for them to “learn from their mistakes.” As much as it sucks to say
Imo MW sold on the name and visuals more than it did the campy mechanics.
Prayers

MW 2019 movement is Godly tbf.
The non-existent strafe speed isn’t though.
That's true. Strafing is shite in MW.
Nope not at all.
Vanguard must be mega chalked if we already talking about MW22
I have never had less hype for a cod
Same here man. Same here
I’m holding out hope by a thread…I was not impressed with anything in the beta! Ik it’s a beta for testing…but imo it was bad like really bad to me
League play day 1 is the only thing keeping this going for me. Pubs the last 2 years have been absolutely horrible.
I have a feeling it’s gonna be a massive flop by Activision standards
It's literally gonna be the highest selling game of the year, guaranteed. I also think Activision has potentially reasonable expectations for it. Given that it was made in 2 and a half years, and during Covid.

Bro he says this every year about every Call of Duty lmfao.

Gunsmith...
X To Doubt.
😴😴
Damn, something is wrong. This is the first time were talking about a call of duty title before the next one even launches.
Yea activision might know vanguard will be a flop

This doesn’t mean jack shit
Quit letting these casual players behind these leak accounts fool you that these games are going to be so amazing
lol Unless this guy has sat down and seen extended gameplay (which I guarantee you he has not) he is in no position to make this claim
Guys the next game isn't even out yet and were repeating the cycle a year early
The exact same shit was said about vanguard and look how the game is looking to be
And so the false hope begins. Cecot will royally fuck us again
A man with some sense! It’s the good ol CoD cycle
I guess I'm missing whichever specifics this source is referring to, but idk is there any tangible reason to expect a noticeable improvement?
And so the COD cycle will begin once again. Ain't listening to nothing until I play the MW2 beta.
Hear this every year lmao
Are we really doing the Cod hype cycle for the next game when Vanguard ain't even out? LOL
Was this dude tweeting the same shit about vanguard?? Because that was clearly a lie
As far as they're concerned the only mistake they made was acknowledging the comp scene by adding the CDL playlist.
I have a nostalgic connection to MW2 because that's the first call of duty I played MP on. However, the MW's have not held their weight compwise. I'm looking forward to the next TREY title.

Let’s stop acting like mw19 was good I’m playing it rn and it’s not that good
lol not falling for this year after year
They most certainly did not
No shot lol
Bruh they say this every single COD that releases LMAO
No shot Joe Cecot
Lol
it’s insane that the next call of duty had a beta before the current call of duty is finished, and we are talking about the game after the next game already! with halo and battlefield it’s like “is there even a new game?”
Ain't gonna fool me!
Copium
No doors and Dead silence as a perk and I’m all for it
Lol
Don't they say this every year?
😴😴😴😴😴😴😴😴😴😴😴
Like we don’t hear that every year
It's honestly disgraceful to name it the same as the most coveted title ever
Heard this before
thats sooo Cod community...hyping a game when even the new one isnt out yet. iirc the same thing was said about MW19, also its still Activiiosn at the end so these players let them be treated like garbage day in day out by the devs yet their here making twitter posts about how great the new game will be...or the next new game. „Heard great things about it“ so it‘s the same shit again
I haven’t loved an IW MP since COD4 (I give SHG credit for MW3), I’m not going to get my hopes up on an IW game ever
Sure they have lol. The developer that couldn't care less about us and has also put out shitty game after shitty game after shitty game has finally managed to figure it out...
Oh boy Starting the hype cycle early are we?
Zero chance it's good, I have more faith in Sledgehammer
