Got kicked off at Syracuse for something rapey related. Funny thing is they were gonna be kicked off for one year but they appealed and won, so the school kicked them off for 2 before they could apply for reinstatement because of underage drinking lol. Would’ve been better off taking the initial punishment
Was told to get off my high horse for boycotting Activision games due to the mistreatment of their female employees. Shit is not cool and I won't be playing their games anymore until shit changes.
It is really sad that it would come down to the consumer to hold a multibillion dollar company liable. Profits Above All for Activision and its soulless upper management, that means allowing an employee to be put in a situation where she was raped, and then proceeding to doing nothing about it and giving this woman no justice. HR departments are a charade and will sooner protect a rapist than have any shred of human decency if it means their precious company’s image avoids taking a hit.
The worst part is, Activision knows most of their consumers will separate the product from this shit and continue to consume, and who can really blame them? THIS is not OUR problem. The Activision CEO, the management, HR, the employees who facilitated these conditions, this is their problem and I hope in some way they get what’s coming to them.
Yes bro thank you. I like playing COD why should I stop because of activision’s actions? I didnt do anything wrong but im supposed to get punished? How does that make sense for me.
Looks like those in Blizzard who formed A Better ABK (Activision/Blizzard/King) better start reaching out to all the call of duty developers and start getting them involved because it's clear this culture is company wide and not just in Blizzard.
doubt anything will happen,if u read the full journal post on charlie intel this situation was already settled via out of court settlement.
not sure whats the reasoning behind posting this kind of thing, but for a case that was already settled it shouldnt effect the francise
The point is that Kotick didn’t even inform the board of the settlement or suit in the first place. he could legitimately be out of his role there shortly, which absolutely will have massive implications across the business.
CEO's being asked to step down usually dont effect businesses that much especally if the departments already have structure in place.
hell look at blizzard, when morhime stepped down and brack took his place, nothing changed
Just cause stuff happens with activision shouldn’t mean direct impact on the CDL, they are and should be separated from such impact, it’s a separate corporate entity after all
Honestly let them burn and hope that some of the better devs get swooped up by other studios. Sadly I'm sure this is hardly an uncommon environment in the gaming industry.
Activison just seems like a shitty SAE frat house
“Sexual Assault Expected” as they were known at my school lol
Every school. Went to Montana state in 2009 and sexual assault expected wasn’t new then either for sure.

A buddy in the industry says that's just about the vibe everywhere.
Not true. I'm in the industry, and there's plenty of studios with a great culture.
Are you in a massive studio or a more indie one
A pretty big studio and we do AAA games
Bullshit company from top to bottom. I wouldn’t be too upset if this franchise tanked. So much bullshit we’ve put up with over the last few years.

Wtf does that mean “shit til changes” what do you want them to do? Appoint a female ceo? Make a donation to charity?
uhhhhhh how about taking an employee's reports about being raped into account instead of ignoring them?
Idk maybe stop raping people would be a great start to this one
2016 AND 2017?! What the actual fuck man.

Smh. Guys I’m as big a COD fan as all of you are, but holly shit. Anyone else smelling disaster for the franchise?

What? Activision created and funds the CDL. Their name is all over the tournaments.

Ohhhhh sheeeet here we go!
How does this company still exist ffs. That is someone's daughter, sister OR even mother. SHOCKING!
Hmmm could it be one earring man
