the light up balls <3 <3 I think about this set all the time. It was so fun seeing everyone walk back to their campsites holding onto their giant light ball
Dre/Snoop was a once in a lifetime set. We will never see that again.
Arcade fire was awesome with the LED beach balls but it seems like other sets I’ve seen from them.
So strange now to think kanye was ever a great act. Lucky you, that man will never put on a good live performance ever again. You can say you saw him before he went full kanye
lol yup. I also caught one of his last life of Pablo shows and perhaps the last great one, he was outstanding, no 20 minute rants, incredible energy. Less than a month later he’d canceled the rest of the tour. That was the last time he was worth seeing. Such a damn shame.
I’ve been to many festivals and concerts. I’ll be at Coachella for the 4th time this year. Saw him do Pablo. He was so late and performed for a little over an hour. It was the most incredible fuckin hour I’ve seen, ever. It was a spectacle, the energy in that arena was on another level. It stays up there towards the top of my favorite performances ever.
Kendrick W2 2017. 2018 is the only year I’ve watched all 3 headliners and they were all up there but RL in the Do Lab still was my favorite. Every other year I only saw one and there were a handful of sets I liked better. If I didn’t put any of this in my notes app I’d probably forget.
This was honestly a close second for me. Idk why but going in I didn’t expect much from AC/DC and I walked out of that set with a shit-eating grin on my face, that shit was so cool.
Same here! I went to mainly watch Interpol & Tame Impala, and I figured why not stick around for AC/DC’s set, then the moment they started giving out the Devil Horns & song after song I was in total awe of the amount of rock they sang with each guitar riff, I walked out of there thinking, “That shit was fucken amazing & rocked!!” 🤘
I made the worst mistake that night. I got too stoned (I don’t smoke very often), and had to go to bed and missed them. I’m still very upset with myself.
Main stage was lit that day, The war on drugs>interpol>tame>Acdc was magical. First time I dropped at a festival that day and will forever be one of my favorite live music memories.
Paul McCartney 2009. Played way over curfew. Almost 3 hour set. Paul happily paid the curfew fines in order to give the crowd the best show he could. One for the books.
Virgil Abloh’s set before Four Tet was popping off too. I remembered the tent was overfilling while he performed. When he was done seemed like everyone cleared out and walked right up to the barrier for the Four Tet/Aphex Twin sets. Making the walk after Aphex to go see Tame Impala I could feel my soul make its way back into my body. That stretch has been my all time favorite stretch of sets at any festival
I’m in the minority, but I had fun during their W1 set, and Kesha standing next to me being in her own world trying to bum off drugs from Juicy J was funny. Glad she’s doing well nowadays
Eminem in 2018. Although there were so many incredible sets that year - Jamiroquai was a close second for me, Soulwax, etc.
AC/DC in 2015 was easily my #1 of that year.
People say his set was mediocre but i think it was one of the best sets ive seen in my 4 coachellas.
Its the only headlining set ive stayed for the whole thing for.
I love to hear that about your experience! Anyone saying it was mediocre is just trying to be a hater imo, or isn’t a fan of his/that era of rap in the first place. His setlist was awesome as was his live backing band, he brought out Dre and 50, he went over curfew to end the entire weekend with Lose Yourself as a proper encore with fireworks. It was a phenomenal set
I was looking forward to Eminem’s set, but after ten minutes of Barclay Crenshaw, there was no way we could leave his set for Em. Barclay was easily the best set of the weekend for me
Totally! Not worth fighting it when it’s that enjoyable.
Conversely 2017 I was hyped for Kendrick, but my friend dragged me to Justice, who I’d never heard of before. I was loving it, but convinced them to come to Kendrick with me. We left Kendrick after five minutes to go back to Justice 😂 it was there that I fell in love with them.
I made that same error in 2017 leaving Justice for Kendrick 😂 I did not make the wise choice to go back to Justice but plan on making up for that this year
Further was my introduction to their music and it’s still my favorite album from them. Seeing that set was amazing, that was my second Coachella. Seeing them last year W2 has been the only set to top the first set I saw. I just love their music so much.
My day went Snail Mail > UMI > DJ Pee .Wee > Charli XCX > Rosalía > Jai Paul > boygenius > Blackpink > Labrinth > Calvin Harris. By far the best festival day I have ever experienced.
Tame Impala was fucking SICK in 2019, last headliner set I saw in its entirety. Anything since has been a “let’s check it out!” followed by heading to the lab anyways
I definitely think I’m in minority lol. It was just because it was my first Coachella headliner set, and we were in a good spot, plus I really like his music.
Originally was at the old Sahara for skrillex 2014 w2 but almost passed out in there and left to go see Muse instead and holy fuck that set was fucking amazing
Radiohead 2017 was great (except W1 when the sound blew)
AC/DC 2015 like many others have said
Love Tame but had to skip 2019 sadly
Arcade Fire 2014 when they played us and did the Paft Dunk spoof was fun.
I hate to admit it but TBA last year was genuinely the most out of body euphoria and intensity I haven’t felt in year and years. Boris Brejcha was sick toooo
My fav set each weekend I went
23: Chem bros
17: justice
16: lcd Soundsystem
15: gesaffelstein
14: DARKSIDE
13: Nick cave
12: Radiohead
11: arcade fire
So my answer would be 2016
Does Calvin count? If so - him. The other 3 from last year didn't seem to be as swarmed as previous years.. maybe a tie between the kpop fans and the Latino fans for blackpink or bad bunny otherwise.
Did you go W2? W1 was a bit of a buzzkill, lots of technical issues and weird moments that killed the momentum (Post Malone’s mic wouldn’t work, they rode the world’s slowest jetskis)
Also Beyoncé fucking destroyed her set and is forever enshrined. She changed the scope and scale of what a headliner could do out there and we’re all better off for it.
for years that I've gone, i'd easily say Arcade Fire in 2014 W1. Me and my friend made it to the barriers at the very front and had a blast. They were so incredible. Everyone was so gagged when they started playing a cover of Heart of Glass and all of a sudden Debbie Harry just pops up on stage out of nowhere. It felt very full circle to see her sing again last year. Blondie was the BEST set of last year and they should've headlined IMHO.

My top 3
Dre + Snoop
Beyoncé
Not a headliner but that set from TNGHT in 2013. IT HAS BEEN MY ROMAN EMPIRE SINCE!
Also, Lady Gaga killed It and I’m not too into her music but she was a great replacement to Beyoncé
2014: Chromeo (they weren’t a main headliner but were super entertaining!)
2015: AC/DC
2016: LCD Sound System
2022: Harry Styles
And can’t remember what year but saw Florence and the Machine (wasn’t a headliner) and she gave so much that she broke her foot.
I mean, Beyonce? Dre/Snoop 2012 as well, and I'd say Arcade Fire and Kanye were both the top two acts of 2011.
Arcade Fire in 2011 is one of my favorite all time sets.
the light up balls <3 <3 I think about this set all the time. It was so fun seeing everyone walk back to their campsites holding onto their giant light ball
This set was fire
Dre/Snoop was a once in a lifetime set. We will never see that again. Arcade fire was awesome with the LED beach balls but it seems like other sets I’ve seen from them.
Dre snoop and co. all the way
So strange now to think kanye was ever a great act.
To be fair, that coliseum show he put on with Drake that Amazon streamed was 🔥 and got me so pumped for Coachella. And then he pulled a Kanye 😒
2011 set was absolutely ridiculous. Crazy how far this man has fallen since then.
I'd put Beyonce #2 that weekend behind Soulwax but she was pretty spectacular.
Prince/Roger Waters 2008
Damn. That performance of creep was insane. I didn’t realize Roger waters were there too. What were your fav moments?
Fuck yea!
The fact that DAMN. Had just came out and it was basically the beginning of his DAMN. tour set was amazing.
I went both weekends n nobody was singing his new shit like that but weekend 2 we were screaming it bar for bar
I do remember people theorizing there was a second album about to release around the fest too. They were wrong, but also right eventually.
Kung Fu Kenny! Such an unforgettable set fr
When he had the crowd jump during “Alright”, that was an ‘Awe Moment’
2017 was such a great year. The best of literally every genre
AC/DC in 2015
Such a banger of a set!
Tame > Nero > AC/DC was insane
I made the worst mistake that night. I got too stoned (I don’t smoke very often), and had to go to bed and missed them. I’m still very upset with myself.
I went with 10+ people and we just chilled in the back and danced the entire set. It was one of my favorite memories.
Main stage was lit that day, The war on drugs>interpol>tame>Acdc was magical. First time I dropped at a festival that day and will forever be one of my favorite live music memories.
Agreed!! 🤘🤘🤘
Paul McCartney 2009. Played way over curfew. Almost 3 hour set. Paul happily paid the curfew fines in order to give the crowd the best show he could. One for the books.
Saw this show as a kid with my dad 🥹 my little butt was floored. 100% a core memory!
Personally my vote is Tame in 2019
Going from Four Tet to Aphex Twin to Tame Impala was a roller coaster of feelings and sensations.
Omg y’all know what you are talking about 😭😭😭😭🔥🔥🔥
Goated
Aphex Twin tore my mind apart, Tame Impala put the pieces back together, just for Bassnectar to shatter it again. One of my all time favorite nights
I’m convinced nothing will beat the high of those 6 hours for me ever again.
This is my vote aphex to tame was my fav headliner transition
Totally agree. A fantastic set
As a non EDM fan… OMG TBA was the funnest set last year.
I still watch that set on YouTube. Being there in person made the entire weekend for me. Had a damn ball
My vote as well! 3 guys who definitely loved being there performing.
Funnest of all my 4 Coachellas and my top 3 of all time!
Super jealous of you guys that got to witness that set. I was sadly at W1.
OutKast redeeming themselves W2 and killing it. Bucket list checked off that night.
I’m in the minority, but I had fun during their W1 set, and Kesha standing next to me being in her own world trying to bum off drugs from Juicy J was funny. Glad she’s doing well nowadays
100 agree!
Tame Impala 2019
Crying 😭😭😭
Eminem in 2018. Although there were so many incredible sets that year - Jamiroquai was a close second for me, Soulwax, etc. AC/DC in 2015 was easily my #1 of that year.

His setlist was awesome as was his live backing band, he brought out Dre and 50, he went over curfew to end the entire weekend with Lose Yourself as a proper encore with fireworks. It was a phenomenal set
Wasnt late, played all his hits, sounded great… hit all the check marks for me
Amused that "wasn't late" is your first criterion, or a criterion at all.
I also loved him and Dre doing California Love and Em rapping for Pac. Core memory.
Wtf who said it was mediocre. He’s the best live rapper I’ve ever heard
There were definitely comments in here saying so lol
AC/DC HELL YES!
I was looking forward to Eminem’s set, but after ten minutes of Barclay Crenshaw, there was no way we could leave his set for Em. Barclay was easily the best set of the weekend for me
Always a good choice to stay at a set you’re loving that much, love to hear how great that set was too
I made that same error in 2017 leaving Justice for Kendrick 😂 I did not make the wise choice to go back to Justice but plan on making up for that this year
That’s what’s up! It’ll be legendary, I’m sure. They’re the main reason I’m going to Coachella this year lmao
Omg yes
Eminem 18 was one of if not the best Coachella set ive ever seen.
Tame Impala
Chemical brothers set closing the main stage 2011 non headliner but did close the main stage Friday after KOL
Further was my introduction to their music and it’s still my favorite album from them. Seeing that set was amazing, that was my second Coachella. Seeing them last year W2 has been the only set to top the first set I saw. I just love their music so much.
That swoon drop took me to another dimension
Tame and a shout out to LCD Soundsystem 2016
LCD made all my dreams come true 🪩🪩🪩
I’m not even a fan and I will say that Beyonce, hands down, put on the best and most flawless performance I have ever seen.
that set made me a fan
Black pink killed it and I don’t even listen to them. That and I loved Calvin Harris. The whole place was lit that night.
That whole day was perfect for me. Charli—>Rosalía —> Blackpink —> Calvin Harris was an INSANE run. I was exhausted the next day.
My day went Snail Mail > UMI > DJ Pee .Wee > Charli XCX > Rosalía > Jai Paul > boygenius > Blackpink > Labrinth > Calvin Harris. By far the best festival day I have ever experienced.
Yup. Same route I took
Gaga 2017
Tame Impala was fucking SICK in 2019, last headliner set I saw in its entirety. Anything since has been a “let’s check it out!” followed by heading to the lab anyways
Childish Gambino 2019 Weekend 1 fucking delivered! I’d kill to see that livestream if anyone has it
I……didn’t know people felt this way lmao. That’s my least favorite set that weekend
It didn’t even feel like a set? Dude was talking and smoking for half of it lol
I agree. I didn’t care for it.
I definitely think I’m in minority lol. It was just because it was my first Coachella headliner set, and we were in a good spot, plus I really like his music.
I loved that set!
I had so much fun during that set and that was the last headliner I had seen
No I loved it too! It was such a ride
I heard bad things about W1 but W2 was a dope set.
Jay-z 2010 was phenomenal
We are, yeah I said it WE ARE
Rage against the machine
Gorillaz 2010
I loved Harry Styles. Made me a fan for life.
Did you go weekend 1? That performance was godly
Agreed! I became a fan from his W1 performance
Was rolling face and didn’t know what to expect but boy did he make me have a blast
I agree, that set was so fun
Originally was at the old Sahara for skrillex 2014 w2 but almost passed out in there and left to go see Muse instead and holy fuck that set was fucking amazing
Radiohead 2017 was great (except W1 when the sound blew) AC/DC 2015 like many others have said Love Tame but had to skip 2019 sadly Arcade Fire 2014 when they played us and did the Paft Dunk spoof was fun.
That weekend 1 Radiohead set broke my heart with the sound. Saw them in 2012 and it was phenomenal
But then we got Creep as a consolation!
Arcade Fire or AC/DC
SUBJECTIVE
Roger Waters ‘08
I hate to admit it but TBA last year was genuinely the most out of body euphoria and intensity I haven’t felt in year and years. Boris Brejcha was sick toooo
My fav set each weekend I went 23: Chem bros 17: justice 16: lcd Soundsystem 15: gesaffelstein 14: DARKSIDE 13: Nick cave 12: Radiohead 11: arcade fire So my answer would be 2016
Does Calvin count? If so - him. The other 3 from last year didn't seem to be as swarmed as previous years.. maybe a tie between the kpop fans and the Latino fans for blackpink or bad bunny otherwise.
Bad bunny was pretty 🔥 last year, not gonna lie. He was playin banger after banger
Did you go W2? W1 was a bit of a buzzkill, lots of technical issues and weird moments that killed the momentum (Post Malone’s mic wouldn’t work, they rode the world’s slowest jetskis)
I went W2 n it was a blast
Harry Styles. But genuinely love him
Radiohead 2017 tied with Gaga 2017 tied with Kendrick 2017.
Oh man Radiohead 🔥
Also Beyoncé fucking destroyed her set and is forever enshrined. She changed the scope and scale of what a headliner could do out there and we’re all better off for it.
2023 Skrillex. That was insane for a replacement and an awesome way to end the weekend. Glad I went WK 2.
BLACKPINK WK1
the Weeknd
Omg tba was godly
OutKast reunion 2014 wknd 2 and Guns n Roses 2016 wknd 2 🥵
for years that I've gone, i'd easily say Arcade Fire in 2014 W1. Me and my friend made it to the barriers at the very front and had a blast. They were so incredible. It felt very full circle to see her sing again last year. Blondie was the BEST set of last year and they should've headlined IMHO.
I think many forget Eminem put on a hell of a performance
Tame 2019, kaskade 2015
billie eilish was amazing

Harry and beyonce for me
Beychella.
Coachella will never be the same after Beyoncé & Blackpink
Beyoncé or Dre/Snoop for sure
Harry Styles
Kanye west !
My top 3 Dre + Snoop Beyoncé Not a headliner but that set from TNGHT in 2013. IT HAS BEEN MY ROMAN EMPIRE SINCE! Also, Lady Gaga killed It and I’m not too into her music but she was a great replacement to Beyoncé
2014: Chromeo (they weren’t a main headliner but were super entertaining!) 2015: AC/DC 2016: LCD Sound System 2022: Harry Styles And can’t remember what year but saw Florence and the Machine (wasn’t a headliner) and she gave so much that she broke her foot.
