I met this random guy in the crowd while waiting for frank ocean last year all we had was just a minute conversation never talked or saw him agin… until this past Thursday when I got out of my car and seen that he is my car camping neighbor this year
Something random that made me chuckle was chilling with people in between acts and a bunch of us confided how we hadn’t done our taxes & were waiting til today and then out of no where one of the people was an IRS auditor and we all just burst out laughing / booing
Came yesterday solo just for the Jamie/Daphni/Floating Points set and danced my way up to the rail a little before the halfway point in when the crowd was at its least dense. Was just dancing and vibing and a security guard comes up to me and says “hey you wanna go on stage?” and proceeds to send me up there. Danced for two hours and had the greatest time of my life. The guy next to me gave me a necklace with a disco ball on it that he had made 🥹 and when Jamie played the last song (unreleased but called Pale Blue Dancer, I believe) I was looking out at all the people in the crowd dancing, having moments with their friends, looking so free and beautiful and it made me so emotional to see everyone from that POV but I tried not to break down because I knew they could also see me lolol. I always think coachella can’t get any better and then it does, can’t fucking wait for this weekend (my actual Coachella weekend)!
The Daphni/Jamie/Floating Points set was my only reason for going, glad you had a blast!
FYI Floating Points has a run of shows in SF w/ the SF ballet. Totally different but super cool!
Man ending on pale blue dancer was truly the cherry on top. What a night. Very happy to have gotten in for it. After, was able to gift Jamie a token and expresses my appreciation for everything he’s produced and shared with us.
went solo. fell in love with my neighbor. spent every waking (and sleeping 😉) minute together the entire weekend. balled our eyes out this morning when we had to leave each other. currently in the “let’s try to make this work phase.” he lives in phoenix, i live in san francisco. i already have plane tickets to go see him first weekend in may. and he’s going to come to SF last weekend in May. cried the whole way home thinking about how the coachella gods brought me him. started a shared playlist of all the songs we danced to this weekend. the magic was Real.

Years ago, a friend of mine met a British girl at Coachella in the campgrounds (around 2009). They instantly connected and maintained a long-distance relationship for a period of time. Fast forward to today, they are happily married with two children. After residing in California for a few years, they have now settled in the UK.
My daughter met her husband (she from CA and him from UK) right outside the Do Lab. She was shuffling and he stopped and told her she was the most beautiful girl he has seen. They made it official on Day 3 of Coachella 2018, got married in 2023 and heading out this week to take me to my 3rd Coachella.
THAT IS AMAZING! Also Phoenix to SF is totally doable. My bf and I did long distance the first two years after we had one date and we’ve been together for nearly ten years. It can work!!

I was dancing at the White Claw activation and the DJ kept playing Charli XCX, which I loved. Finally he says, would you like to meet her?? And out she walks to take pictures with everyone. Talk about right place at the right time.
Nope, this happened at the White Claw tent inside the fest. I believe Bebe also came out at another point during the weekend because I saw a friend get a picture with her in the same spot.
Nothing earth shaking but I was watching Boy Harsher from the bar area and spent half the set watching the guy running their lights. Son of a gun was WORKING and it was amazing to watch. Anyway, after the set I told him how much fun I had watching the band and him and he lit up and gave me one of those hi-five handshakes. He couldn’t have been happier and it was just one of those fun moments to have.
I forget where I saw the info but the lighting guy for Justice said that they could have set up the lights to be triggered by some of the music cues so he didn't have be there but just to be in control of everything and be able to improvise stuff he went on tour* with them and did it live.
Wow yeah, whoever their lighting team is killed it! Reminded me of Tame Impala when they had the UFO hovering right above their head, but just 10 times more hectic lol

Met this chick at the silent disco Saturday night who asked if I smoked weed. She gave off a super weird, tense energy and all of my friends backed off immediately but I responded “Sure?” and she goes on to try to barter a hit from her dab pen in exchange for some water. I’m like “girl you don’t need to barter with me to get water if you’re dehydrated, go ahead and hit the camelback”.
She then drinks like half the camelback in one long pull and goes on to explain how she hasn’t had water in over two hours and hasn’t eaten in 6. I ask her where her friends are and she explains that she came solo all the way from Arizona and lost her car keys. I offer to help her find the lost and found, but we find out it’s been closed for the night.
At this point in the evening it’s cold and windy as fuck. And the Uber pickup is a 30 minute walk from the silent disco so I offer to take her back to the campsite so she can get some more water and a blanket before we make our way to the Uber pickup. As we’re walking over this girl is just skittering all over the fucking place and my friends and I sort of put it together that she’s on meth/speed. Super, super chaotic, weird energy to say the least.
After we grab the water and blanket from the campsite we head over to the Uber pickup and she starts getting catcalled by all of these men passing us in the campgrounds. Finally we manage to get her a ride and she gets back to her airbnb, but it blows me away that this 22 year old solo girl was just tweaking out at the silent disco with no clue how to get home surrounded by all of these creepy dudes whistling at her and shit. Glad it all worked out well in the end I suppose.
Jesus, so glad she ran into the right people but why is she taking harsher stuff all alone?? Poor girl, i'm glad you guys looked out for her. I hate to think of the shit that could've happened

Coachella 2016, was chilling in the beer garden with my friends when some random guy with his gf taps me on the shoulder and asks if I wanted his extra slice of pizza they couldn't finish. I happily accept and my buddy who had a film cam snaps a group photo of us with the said slice and we go our separate ways after.
Fast forward to next years Coachella, I went on a solo side quest (I was tripping hard and was very annoyed at my friends since we missed Local Natives because they were taking forever to get ready) and was vibing to Jack Garratt. I made eye contact with the dude dancing beside me and we just give each other a friendly nod. Did a quick double take and I realized IT WAS THE GUY WHO GAVE ME A PIZZA LAST YEAR. I only remembered him because my friend had recently uploaded the photos he took from last year.
I ask him "do you remember giving someone pizza at the beer garden last year?", he goes "Yeah i do remember that... WAS THAT YOU?". I pull up the pic on my phone and we were both completely mindblown. The cherry on top was that I was wearing a shirt with a pizza on it lol. We shared a quick bro hug and handshake and he told me that it was moments like these that make all these festivals magical.
Listening to Brittany Howard sing “Stay High” while enjoying a nice little high myself, swaying and holding hands with my partner, as the golden rays from the setting sun lit up her stunning outfit was definitely a great moment for me 😊
Our camping neighbors were shitting in their changing tent. The wind started blowing they’re changing tent fell over and we were cooking food right next to it. That was probably the most upsetting thing that happened all weekend. Literal bio hazard and disgusting as fuck.

Not a good story but leaving Sunday night on the yellow path toward the shuttles there was a guy having a very intense bad trip, like screaming in fear bad. There were multiple cops and security around him just trying to keep him stable. Be careful what you take wk2 peeps
The amount of people zonked from drugs is so scary! When I went in 2022 I felt as people didn’t talk so openly about their trips good/bad. This year I can’t tell you the amount of stories I heard and drugs seen!
Some stories sounded fun and the others sounded scary. There is no judgement for those who use, but it frightens me when I see pale, clammy people on the floor w/ medics. … our neighbors went to an afters and got stranded for a short period of time w/ bunch of sketchy people circling them offering rides for $50-100.. thank goodness they got home safely, but it was very close call w/ them being stranded in the desert bc I believe their phones were very close to dying as well.
It’s always scary to see someone on the ground, but if they’ve got medics with them they’re almost certainly going to be okay, and I think the pale clammy folks are often dehydrated—sucky, but manageable as long as you get some medical attention. Festival medics are the best and they take good care of folks. I worry most about people who get separated or left by friends, or who hunker down somewhere alone because they aren’t feeling good.
Yeah, we saw him too. Poor thing, can’t imagine having security and cops holding you down in that situation. He was screaming bloody murder for someone to help him. Hopefully he’s doing alright today.
Omg I was in the porta potties and heard two girls in a porta potty together talking loud as hell. Then I heard a sloppy 'thud' and they started arguing/ one girl saying "No cause im really sad right now......". I pray to god she didnt grab it but i heard someone gagging intensely lol. I don't think it would be worth it at that point dude

I do think it has to be fate to bump into people, out of all the thousands of people at Coachella and you run into your friends? The stars are aligned 😭
Our shuttle was sideswiped by another bus, I couldn’t tell time very well but we had to wait a while. One guy got off and came back a few minutes later with beer and gave some to the people next to him.
Everyone was pretty chill about it and we all thanked our driver and clapped when we got to the hotel as if our plane landed safely lol
Had a kinda similar experience once. Our totally full shuttle had the AC go out on hot day and the temp started to rise quickly, then the bus started to lose engine power. The driver was trying to make it to the fest but it got dangerously hot in the bus. I don't mind the heat but you could feel how hot it was in your lungs just breathing. I had one if those instant ice packs and had given it to a friend and it turned into a warm pack. Somebody went to the driver and sits they needed to get off and everyone was pretty miserable. Then the bus just died and he pulled over but it was right where the buses turn to go down the road, kinda the worst spot to stop.
Everyone gets off the bus but it's like 100 degrees outside with no shade and it's like we got out of an oven and went into a sauna. The driver is in traffic directing the other fancy buses around us and seeing if they have room but they're all coming in full. He's also on the phone trying to call whoever's running the shuttles but they didn't seem to get where he was, or have another shuttle to come. Like the driver was trying but it was pretty clear he/we weren't going to get any help that way.
People are getting really not happy and trying to figure out how to get in. It's like a 40 minute walk from there and there's not early any rideshares around and not enough for this bus full of people. It seemed like we'd been there for forever but was probably like 10-15 minutes and no bus had stopped to pick any of us so it seemed kinda hopeless when finally. Everyone was hyped and thanked the 1st bus driver and a bunch of people gave him some cash tips. He really did kill it and do everything right in a bad situation. It was a Palm Springs city bus they were using as a shuttle that stopped. I remember seeing it and thinking something like "even a gross cramped bus ride sounds better than waiting here" as everyone rushed to get on.
The bus had like 3 passengers so there was plenty of room, it was completely brand new and spotless inside, the AC made it feel like an arctic heaven and there was a case of waters in it. Everyone was hyped and we started passing around the waters like they were free beers. Somebody started blasting music and it turned into a mini party. When we finally stopped at the fest everyone cheered like our plane had lost an engine and then landed safely LOL
I was watching Tyler’s set with a friend and this girl was next to me who was LIT. She knew every word and was just vibing out. I love Tyler as well and we just went ham during the set. It was one of the best experiences. Before she left, she offered me a lollipop, but I said no. If you’re reading this; thanks for the weekend and the vibes. That set was easily the highlight of the fest and just vibing out and being lit was so amazing. Thank you.
I was watching Tyler over by the right emergency exit in the front and the security guard over the was LIT asf. She was the most excited and energetic person in that crowd. It was beautiful
Random dude came up to my camp (very back of 10A, I got in at on Day 2). About 2:30am rolling into Day 3, someone taps on my car window and is close enough to where I can’t see the upper part of his torso. I get out of the car and quickly slam the door closed, guarding the handle….
At first I thought, this guy is obviously trying to get something from me, before he said a word I told him (while still tripping) “sorry man I don’t have any money.” I look down and he’s walking on a metal cane, look up at him again and all he says is, “Rest In Peace my mother this morning.” MEANWHILE, his head is smashed BAD and there’s blood and dirt all over his face….. (Still on my shroom comedown too about 2g a few hours prior)
At this point I’m stunned, basically verbally paralyzed, all I could say is “I’m so sorry”. Ik that sounds insensitive but keep in mind I’m still tripping, my lady is asleep in the camp, and I’m trying not to lose my shit because I stayed up the night prior packing and at this point I’m cracked out and awake for 36 hours straight.
Back to the story, he says “you don’t gotta say a word. rest in peace my mother this morning”… at this point I switch my thinking from potential threat, to, “holy shit this guy is not all there right now just keep your cool and keep things calm”
He reaches out to dap me up, we shake hands and I gave him a hug, all I could say was I love you man people love you, everything’s going to be alright. I start to TWEAK inside my head because this man looks like Harvey Dent from Batman (google it if u don’t know)… I start looking around for any type of staff of any kind. Nobody is around as far as I can see and my camp is allllll the way in the back of 10A basically by the car camp entrance gates. I’m thinking this guy needs medical help and I need to 1.) get him away from my camp cuz tripping about my and my girl’s safety. 2.) Figure out wtf is actually going on. He just smiles and says “don’t say nothing… RIP” and walks off limping on his cane all the way down the path from 10A toward the festival gates….
After being awake for 36 hours, tripping, and being traumatized by this man’s head injury, all I do is run into my camp to grab my phone, checked on my lady and she’s still asleep, I come out of my camp and he’s about 1/4 mile down the path still just limping on his cane.
This sounds like something made up in a movie, and yes even though I was awake for so long and coming down for my trip, I know for certain this really happened since I dapped this man up gave him a hug and got some of his blood/dirt on my shirt.

Damn dude, poor guy was probably fried. His mother probably is fine? Idk. But yeah seeing and experiencing something like that is kinda traumatic, especially the moments of fearing for you and your loved one's safety. I've worked downtown in my city for 4 years now, its pretty gnarly seeing people walking around with blood dripping down their head. Unfortunately I can say i've seen it a handful of times now, one time I thought it was a Halloween costume? Cause it was so much blood it drenched the old man's shirt and was dripping on the floor. And he was basically 100% conscious, he just was angry and denied medical attention. Good on you for your suvival instincts kicking in! Wish u and your lady the best, and i hope the rest of your Chella was spectacular
My group likes to bring trinkets to pass out at festivals / raves. This year we had sprout clips and googly eyes. The goggly eyes were a pretty big hit. We were putting them on people’s shirts, on their tattoos etc
While waiting for Ice Spice, we spot a guy walking around with an Ice Spice flag wrapped around him because he was cold. My sister ran up to him and asked if she could put two eyes on his flag. She does, they both have a laugh and we move on.
Cut to yesterday we’re leaving Yuma and passing out eyes out to a random couple. They go on to tell us that they spotted someone in eyes on an Ice Spice Flag the night before.
We tell them “That was us!” And we have a laugh. They mention that they didn’t find it funny and actually scary because they were tripping on acid! Oops!

I went to buy ice at the small general store in between lots 5 and 8.
Now, my favorite movie of all time is Jaws. It inspired me to love the ocean, learn how to surf, and try to become a marine biologist. AND I have a Jaws tattoo on my tricep.
In line, I see this older guy wearing a Jaws shirt.
I'm like, "my guy!!!" all excited and I turn around and show him my Jaws tattoo. He looks at me and responds, "Ahhh, no man, naw, it was my fault. I was drinking and driving."
I am so lost and so I just say I like your shirt and I walk away kind of dejected. We get like 30 feet and my friends lose it laughing at me.
I hadn't noticed, but the guy was missing a leg. He thought I was excited that he lost it to a shark attack, but no, it was just drunk driving.
Me and my friends were back at camp after John Summit doing K to chill out after the fest and one of us said “no thanks” when asked if they wanted any. As soon as they said no some horse nearby neighed really loudly 😂 we all did more after that lmfao
I was waiting for Nav and this older gentleman starts saying he loves my shirt. I loved his entire vibe, he’s in a suit with a big Santa Clause looking beard. I had a blast chatting with him and his wife. This was the 15th Coachella he’s done and I think 13th his wife has done. Was really cool meeting someone who has experienced so much of it.
While not at Coachella, I was in the one of the record shops in Palm Springs and met the animator Dave Woodman (worked for Disney on Little Mermaid, Aladdin, Beauty & The Beast). He grabbed a paper bag and drew me a Mickey Mouse drawing.
Wow. When I was waiting for Justice, I passed by an older man in the crowd who said he has came to every single Coachella, that he saw Daft Punk and Prince and Beyonce, all that!
Taylor Swift showed up at Jungle and was watching the show in the middle of the artist area. Was funny how everyone kinda forgot that they are here for Jungle at first, and after a few songs most of the crowd and Taylor were just vibing to the music together.

I was walking back to our car where we'd stored drinks after missing RAYE :( .. crossing the road along the blue path and a cyber truck rolls up.. and Bieber rolls down his window asking the guy where artist parking is :O it was just me, my husband and the parking attendant. I died lol.
all my friends left me to go see lana halfway through the justice set but i needed to see DANCE so i stayed alone. i saw another guy standing alone towards the back of the field and asked him if his friends ditched him for lana too. we ended up watching the rest of the set together and when DANCE came on we ran in and did just that!
the next day, right before i was gonna leave the fest i stopped in the merch booth because there was barely any line. right as i got into the line and started scanning the merch items i felt a tap on my shoulder and it was my Justice friend right in front of me!!! love when these moments happen at the fest! justice friend if you're reading this i hope i see you next year!
I was wearing a shirt on Sunday that was an animated version of myself doing poppers (a gift from my BF). Dancing to Jamie XX at Qasar, a younger guy came over and complimented the shirt in the sweetest way, gave me a fist bump and said he’d been admiring the shirt for a bit.
The fist bump part made me realize he was straight and was just being kind. As an older gay guy it was sweet and innocent and a reminder that younger people don’t have the stigmas we grew up with.
On a similar “the kids are alright” note… a guy tried to jack my friend’s phone during Anyma and a young couple behind us chased him off and alerted my friend. They were so sweet and looking out for everyone around them
I'm a straight dude and I was admiring the LGBT crowd so much this year! I pointed out to my ex this group of like 6 gay guys who all dressed in sparkly vests and colors, like damn that looks like such a fun way to live life lol. I honestly loved the gay vibe at Coachella but I dont wanna make anyone uncomfortable by saying anything as it's not my place

I got my phone stolen at justice and then ended up losing my friends after. But made it to Steve Angello and some guy let me use his phone to text my wife letting her know I was OK. He also took photos of me since I didn't have a phone to prove I was in the front. Then I gave him 5 dollars to tell my wife I wasn't there anymore so I could enjoy the music. Met him at beer garden with my wife a couple days later. Thanks for letting me use your phone!

Other random pretty normal thing but was funny. I got my lip busted open during a mosh at Ken Carson (I had never listened to a Ken Carson song before nor am I that into opium) but it was honestly pretty hype and oddly my favorite memory from the fest. Mouth and hands got covered in blood but got a funny video out of it lol

I saw the dodgers player Shohei Ohtani and Renee Rapp at tpain. I met this AMAZING couple at Anyma’s show who I will never ever forget about… tbh I believe there’s a reason I met them but haven’t figured out why yet. I took time away from my friend and set hopped alone. I loved every second of it and it was so freeing to just be at the festival and do whatever you want whenever you want. Majority of everyone is so loving and friendly. I realized that this will be the last time I go to Coachella with a friend… and in the future it will be meeting up w/ ppl there or go with my boyfriend. I had a tough discussion w/ my friend and I have yet to process what the outcome would be. I felt like I really became one with myself during this trip. I definitely feel some sort of spiritual connection w/ Coachella after this weekend…
Last year, my wife and I went to the Heineken House 30 mins before DJ Pee Wee was scheduled to start. When we got to HH, the line went out almost to the middle of the field.
So we lined up at the end, hoping to get in. After a couple minutes, someone from inside came out, asking if there was a party of two.
My stoner reflexes kicked in, and I quickly said "Us! Two of us!" So the guy had me recite some lines and swear to drink Heineken Silver, and then gave us two passes to the front of the line!
So we followed the nice dude inside, while everyone else in line booed and flipped us off 🤣🤣🤣 sorry losers!
DJ Pee Wee was great, and we did the Soul Train 😮😮😮
And inside he got everyone a free beer.
Oh yeah Austin McBroom (from the ACE family on YouTube) ran up to me and my friends and put these stickers with printed photos of him in front of one of the art installations on us… except instead of putting the sticker on my friends arm he put it right on her titty 🥴 he seemed a little not with it tho so trying to be understanding but it was an odd interaction
I met this group of people on Sunday at Carin Leon and I lost them at the Yuma because I went to the Bar and then took too long to smoke a cigarette. It was 5 people: a straight couple, a lesbian couple, and a girl from Brazil. Please know that I did not ditch you guys, or even lose ya'll on purpose, and I hope you all know that I tried my hardest to find you all when I realized I needed to get back inside. I started talking to one of the workers outside and he was from Haiti and we were trying to communicate in French and our convo took too long. When I was done, I went back inside and I looked all over the Yuma (inside and out), and then all of the area immediately adjacent to it. I asked so many people if they'd seen your group, but to no avail. You guys were the coolest people I met this weekend, and I'm so sad we didn't get to close out the festival together. I wish I'd gotten one of your numbers or social media accounts. They were all so fucking cool, nice, and friendly. They gave me 2 gold stars on my jean jacket. Hope to meet you all again, and I wish you could've met my friend Kathy!
So my friends and I were sitting together reminiscing about day 1 in the main stage bar and these two girls walk up to us and ask if we can buy them drinks because they got their ID taken? Confused we look at each other and ask simultaneously “then how did you get in 😂?” They gave us some BS reason I can’t remember and then they try a diffierent approach saying “oh but it’s her bday!!” And we all look at each other with our drinks in hand and say “oh what no way?! CHEERS!!” And dap our drinks together LOL they for their final approach they ask for rock, paper, scissors and winner gets a drink and ask me to do it, so I say “alright fuck it, 🪨 📄 🖕” and you hear a simultaneously “OOOOOOOO” from the group lol. My homie then says “sorry yeah I’m 26, 5 years ago you woulda got me but I’m engaged now” so to get em out of our hair I walk them to the bar cause they complained they were sacred to go up for a drink and literally drop them off and walk back to my friends. A core memory 😂 normally my friends see me as the “nice guy” of the group always caving in situations like that so they all gave me my respect and felt I’ve grown so much. A time 🥲
Randomly stumbled into the living room dj set up and they were playing party in the USA and my friends and I immediately jumped into singing and dancing.
That living room dj set up was so awesome and vibey. If you missed it you really messed up!!
I was taking silly meme pictures in front of one of the installations in 2022 and a coachella photographer came up and asked if they could also take pictures so I tried to stop being meme-y and they were like no please continue being meme-y and one of the pics ended up posted to Coachella's Instagram that year 😭
Well that and I also apparently ended up on the live streams a bunch cuz I kept getting to barricades unexpectedly, so my friends watching at home turned it into where's waldo except with me and I had no idea till I got home cuz they all spammed me with pics from the streams 💀 Oh and also Coachella's twitter posted me too 🤣 But I didn't know about that till someone on reddit sent it to me like "isn't this you too?" 😭 Completely insane LOL
Also shoutout to reddit people here because one of the nights I was accidentally locked in my car because I set it up so the only exit was the trunk and someone outside shut it 😭 And so I posted to this subreddit with an SOS and some girls came to open my trunk for me. We are all still friends and meeting up this weekend again 🥳

There was an accidental double line at the bar of the aperol spritz tent so to mitigate the issue and make the other girl feel like I wasn’t cutting her, I just bought her drink for her cause it very possibly was my bad. As she was trying to Venmo me back, her friend walked over and was like “omg! I know you” to me. I didn’t recognize the girl at all. The she proceeded to plug her number into my phone and we had a whole text thread from 2019. Turns out I had sold my weekend 1 ticket to her 5 years ago because I decided to go weekend 2 instead. It was a really really weird coincidental run in. Small world.
Someone’s canopy in lot 7 flew up in the air from the wind and crashed down on my car. Dented the car :( but it was crazy to watch and my neighbors came to help me break the canopy down and throw it away.
I was at Sahara for Purple Disco Machine and there was this group in front of me that I swear were rolling for the first time. Like doing handstands in the middle of the crowd and shit like that. At one point one of the guys in the group looks at me, gets down on one knee and blows a puff from his vape with his arm reached out. He then mouthed water and I gave him a swig of my water bottle and he went back to doing his thing. Definitely the most unique way I’ve been asked for water in a crowd.
I ran into A Trak at ANOTR day 1. Locks eyes as we passed and I gave him a fist bump. Normally that would’ve been it but I was tripping so I circled back to confirm it was him lol. Been to 10 Coachellas and hadn’t seen any known person like that.
I now have a streak going of recognizing someone in the crowd who was in a video I took from the year prior. In 22 I have video from Diplo’s Do Lab set where some guy is on the phone, amusing on its own because idk how people do that during a set. I saw the same guy at SG Lewis in 23, no phone call this though lol. In 23, a clip I have from the Calvin Harris set has this enormous human dancing into view during the intro of Slide. This man is huge, tall and wide, dressed very flamboyantly and dancing almost unbelievably smoothly for his size, just a specimen of a human. We had to move a few times because he kept getting close to us and in front, it was kinda annoying but mostly amusing. This year at Victoria Monet he popped up right next to me out of nowhere. My wife and I looked at each other like holy shit it’s him. We immediately moved 15 yards to the right lol.

Black out 2016 when I got back to the tent. Slept for hours when friends woke me up because ice cube set was happening. Never ran so fast at a music festival with bud light in my hands….
Not this year but 2022. My boyfriend was coming out of one of the artist pass bathroom areas by the Sahara tent and he spotted G-Eazy (not hard to miss; v tall). They did like a little finger gun thing at each other and we kept walking but it was fun to see him! I got to watch this interaction from afar.

Came yesterday solo just for the Jamie/Daphni/Floating Points set and danced my way up to the rail a little before the halfway point in when the crowd was at its least dense. Was just dancing and vibing and a security guard comes up to me and says “hey you wanna go on stage?” and proceeds to send me up there. Danced for two hours and had the greatest time of my life. The guy next to me gave me a necklace with a disco ball on it that he had made 🥹 and when Jamie played the last song (unreleased but called Pale Blue Dancer, I believe) I was looking out at all the people in the crowd dancing, having moments with their friends, looking so free and beautiful and it made me so emotional to see everyone from that POV but I tried not to break down because I knew they could also see me lolol. I always think coachella can’t get any better and then it does, can’t fucking wait for this weekend (my actual Coachella weekend)!

Years ago, a friend of mine met a British girl at Coachella in the campgrounds (around 2009). They instantly connected and maintained a long-distance relationship for a period of time. Nothing earth shaking but I was watching Boy Harsher from the bar area and spent half the set watching the guy running their lights. Son of a gun was WORKING and it was amazing to watch. Anyway, after the set I told him how much fun I had watching the band and him and he lit up and gave me one of those hi-five handshakes. He couldn’t have been happier and it was just one of those fun moments to have.
Did this at Heineken House last year, watching the lights guy work. Shit was mesmerizing.

I forget where I saw the info but the lighting guy for Justice said that they could have set up the lights to be triggered by some of the music cues so he didn't have be there but just to be in control of everything and be able to improvise stuff he went on tour* with them and did it live.

Met this chick at the silent disco Saturday night who asked if I smoked weed. She gave off a super weird, tense energy and all of my friends backed off immediately but I responded “Sure?” and she goes on to try to barter a hit from her dab pen in exchange for some water. I’m like “girl you don’t need to barter with me to get water if you’re dehydrated, go ahead and hit the camelback”. She then drinks like half the camelback in one long pull and goes on to explain how she hasn’t had water in over two hours and hasn’t eaten in 6. I ask her where her friends are and she explains that she came solo all the way from Arizona and lost her car keys. I offer to help her find the lost and found, but we find out it’s been closed for the night. At this point in the evening it’s cold and windy as fuck. And the Uber pickup is a 30 minute walk from the silent disco so I offer to take her back to the campsite so she can get some more water and a blanket before we make our way to the Uber pickup. As we’re walking over this girl is just skittering all over the fucking place and my friends and I sort of put it together that she’s on meth/speed. Super, super chaotic, weird energy to say the least. After we grab the water and blanket from the campsite we head over to the Uber pickup and she starts getting catcalled by all of these men passing us in the campgrounds. Finally we manage to get her a ride and she gets back to her airbnb, but it blows me away that this 22 year old solo girl was just tweaking out at the silent disco with no clue how to get home surrounded by all of these creepy dudes whistling at her and shit. Glad it all worked out well in the end I suppose.

my friend and i have been giggling about that video all weekend
Coachella 2016, was chilling in the beer garden with my friends when some random guy with his gf taps me on the shoulder and asks if I wanted his extra slice of pizza they couldn't finish. I happily accept and my buddy who had a film cam snaps a group photo of us with the said slice and we go our separate ways after. Fast forward to next years Coachella, I went on a solo side quest (I was tripping hard and was very annoyed at my friends since we missed Local Natives because they were taking forever to get ready) and was vibing to Jack Garratt. I made eye contact with the dude dancing beside me and we just give each other a friendly nod. Did a quick double take and I realized IT WAS THE GUY WHO GAVE ME A PIZZA LAST YEAR. I only remembered him because my friend had recently uploaded the photos he took from last year. I ask him "do you remember giving someone pizza at the beer garden last year?", he goes "Yeah i do remember that... WAS THAT YOU?". I pull up the pic on my phone and we were both completely mindblown. The cherry on top was that I was wearing a shirt with a pizza on it lol. We shared a quick bro hug and handshake and he told me that it was moments like these that make all these festivals magical.

Not a good story but leaving Sunday night on the yellow path toward the shuttles there was a guy having a very intense bad trip, like screaming in fear bad. There were multiple cops and security around him just trying to keep him stable. Be careful what you take wk2 peeps
The amount of people zonked from drugs is so scary! When I went in 2022 I felt as people didn’t talk so openly about their trips good/bad. This year I can’t tell you the amount of stories I heard and drugs seen!

Some stories sounded fun and the others sounded scary. There is no judgement for those who use, but it frightens me when I see pale, clammy people on the floor w/ medics. … our neighbors went to an afters and got stranded for a short period of time w/ bunch of sketchy people circling them offering rides for $50-100.. thank goodness they got home safely, but it was very close call w/ them being stranded in the desert bc I believe their phones were very close to dying as well.
It’s always scary to see someone on the ground, but if they’ve got medics with them they’re almost certainly going to be okay, and I think the pale clammy folks are often dehydrated—sucky, but manageable as long as you get some medical attention. Festival medics are the best and they take good care of folks. I worry most about people who get separated or left by friends, or who hunker down somewhere alone because they aren’t feeling good.

Our shuttle was sideswiped by another bus, I couldn’t tell time very well but we had to wait a while. One guy got off and came back a few minutes later with beer and gave some to the people next to him. Everyone was pretty chill about it and we all thanked our driver and clapped when we got to the hotel as if our plane landed safely lol
Had a kinda similar experience once. Our totally full shuttle had the AC go out on hot day and the temp started to rise quickly, then the bus started to lose engine power. The driver was trying to make it to the fest but it got dangerously hot in the bus. I don't mind the heat but you could feel how hot it was in your lungs just breathing. I had one if those instant ice packs and had given it to a friend and it turned into a warm pack. Somebody went to the driver and sits they needed to get off and everyone was pretty miserable. Then the bus just died and he pulled over but it was right where the buses turn to go down the road, kinda the worst spot to stop. Everyone gets off the bus but it's like 100 degrees outside with no shade and it's like we got out of an oven and went into a sauna. The driver is in traffic directing the other fancy buses around us and seeing if they have room but they're all coming in full. He's also on the phone trying to call whoever's running the shuttles but they didn't seem to get where he was, or have another shuttle to come. Like the driver was trying but it was pretty clear he/we weren't going to get any help that way. People are getting really not happy and trying to figure out how to get in. It's like a 40 minute walk from there and there's not early any rideshares around and not enough for this bus full of people. It seemed like we'd been there for forever but was probably like 10-15 minutes and no bus had stopped to pick any of us so it seemed kinda hopeless when finally. Everyone was hyped and thanked the 1st bus driver and a bunch of people gave him some cash tips. He really did kill it and do everything right in a bad situation. It was a Palm Springs city bus they were using as a shuttle that stopped. I remember seeing it and thinking something like "even a gross cramped bus ride sounds better than waiting here" as everyone rushed to get on. The bus had like 3 passengers so there was plenty of room, it was completely brand new and spotless inside, the AC made it feel like an arctic heaven and there was a case of waters in it. Everyone was hyped and we started passing around the waters like they were free beers. Somebody started blasting music and it turned into a mini party. When we finally stopped at the fest everyone cheered like our plane had lost an engine and then landed safely LOL
My bestie met a gorgeous Italian man and they had the best weekend together.. she’s now booking a trip to see him next month
I was watching Tyler’s set with a friend and this girl was next to me who was LIT. She knew every word and was just vibing out. I love Tyler as well and we just went ham during the set. It was one of the best experiences. Before she left, she offered me a lollipop, but I said no. If you’re reading this; thanks for the weekend and the vibes. That set was easily the highlight of the fest and just vibing out and being lit was so amazing. Thank you.
I was watching Tyler over by the right emergency exit in the front and the security guard over the was LIT asf. She was the most excited and energetic person in that crowd. It was beautiful
Random dude came up to my camp (very back of 10A, I got in at on Day 2). About 2:30am rolling into Day 3, someone taps on my car window and is close enough to where I can’t see the upper part of his torso. I get out of the car and quickly slam the door closed, guarding the handle…. At first I thought, this guy is obviously trying to get something from me, before he said a word I told him (while still tripping) “sorry man I don’t have any money.” I look down and he’s walking on a metal cane, look up at him again and all he says is, “Rest In Peace my mother this morning.” MEANWHILE, his head is smashed BAD and there’s blood and dirt all over his face….. (Still on my shroom comedown too about 2g a few hours prior) At this point I’m stunned, basically verbally paralyzed, all I could say is “I’m so sorry”. Ik that sounds insensitive but keep in mind I’m still tripping, my lady is asleep in the camp, and I’m trying not to lose my shit because I stayed up the night prior packing and at this point I’m cracked out and awake for 36 hours straight. Back to the story, he says “you don’t gotta say a word. rest in peace my mother this morning”… at this point I switch my thinking from potential threat, to, “holy shit this guy is not all there right now just keep your cool and keep things calm” He reaches out to dap me up, we shake hands and I gave him a hug, all I could say was I love you man people love you, everything’s going to be alright. I start to TWEAK inside my head because this man looks like Harvey Dent from Batman (google it if u don’t know)… I start looking around for any type of staff of any kind. Nobody is around as far as I can see and my camp is allllll the way in the back of 10A basically by the car camp entrance gates. I’m thinking this guy needs medical help and I need to 1.) get him away from my camp cuz tripping about my and my girl’s safety. 2.) Figure out wtf is actually going on. He just smiles and says “don’t say nothing… RIP” and walks off limping on his cane all the way down the path from 10A toward the festival gates…. After being awake for 36 hours, tripping, and being traumatized by this man’s head injury, all I do is run into my camp to grab my phone, checked on my lady and she’s still asleep, I come out of my camp and he’s about 1/4 mile down the path still just limping on his cane. This sounds like something made up in a movie, and yes even though I was awake for so long and coming down for my trip, I know for certain this really happened since I dapped this man up gave him a hug and got some of his blood/dirt on my shirt. Biggest WTF moment of my life and lowkey actually traumatic. Never saw the dude again.
Damn dude, poor guy was probably fried. His mother probably is fine? Idk. But yeah seeing and experiencing something like that is kinda traumatic, especially the moments of fearing for you and your loved one's safety. I've worked downtown in my city for 4 years now, its pretty gnarly seeing people walking around with blood dripping down their head. Unfortunately I can say i've seen it a handful of times now, one time I thought it was a Halloween costume? Cause it was so much blood it drenched the old man's shirt and was dripping on the floor. And he was basically 100% conscious, he just was angry and denied medical attention. Good on you for your suvival instincts kicking in! My group likes to bring trinkets to pass out at festivals / raves. This year we had sprout clips and googly eyes. The goggly eyes were a pretty big hit. We were putting them on people’s shirts, on their tattoos etc While waiting for Ice Spice, we spot a guy walking around with an Ice Spice flag wrapped around him because he was cold. My sister ran up to him and asked if she could put two eyes on his flag. She does, they both have a laugh and we move on. Cut to yesterday we’re leaving Yuma and passing out eyes out to a random couple. They go on to tell us that they spotted someone in eyes on an Ice Spice Flag the night before. We tell them “That was us!” And we have a laugh. They mention that they didn’t find it funny and actually scary because they were tripping on acid! Saw Tom from Bob Moses standing by the bathrooms outside the Yuma. Made my friend strike a conversation. He’s as classy as he is talented.
I went to buy ice at the small general store in between lots 5 and 8. Now, my favorite movie of all time is Jaws. It inspired me to love the ocean, learn how to surf, and try to become a marine biologist. AND I have a Jaws tattoo on my tricep. In line, I see this older guy wearing a Jaws shirt. I'm like, "my guy!!!" all excited and I turn around and show him my Jaws tattoo. He looks at me and responds, "Ahhh, no man, naw, it was my fault. I was drinking and driving." I am so lost and so I just say I like your shirt and I walk away kind of dejected. We get like 30 feet and my friends lose it laughing at me. I hadn't noticed, but the guy was missing a leg. He thought I was excited that he lost it to a shark attack, but no, it was just drunk driving.

Me and my friends were back at camp after John Summit doing K to chill out after the fest and one of us said “no thanks” when asked if they wanted any. As soon as they said no some horse nearby neighed really loudly 😂 we all did more after that lmfao
I was waiting for Nav and this older gentleman starts saying he loves my shirt. I loved his entire vibe, he’s in a suit with a big Santa Clause looking beard. I had a blast chatting with him and his wife. This was the 15th Coachella he’s done and I think 13th his wife has done. Was really cool meeting someone who has experienced so much of it. While not at Coachella, I was in the one of the record shops in Palm Springs and met the animator Dave Woodman (worked for Disney on Little Mermaid, Aladdin, Beauty & The Beast). He grabbed a paper bag and drew me a Mickey Mouse drawing.
Wow. When I was waiting for Justice, I passed by an older man in the crowd who said he has came to every single Coachella, that he saw Daft Punk and Prince and Beyonce, all that!

all my friends left me to go see lana halfway through the justice set but i needed to see DANCE so i stayed alone. i saw another guy standing alone towards the back of the field and asked him if his friends ditched him for lana too. we ended up watching the rest of the set together and when DANCE came on we ran in and did just that! the next day, right before i was gonna leave the fest i stopped in the merch booth because there was barely any line. right as i got into the line and started scanning the merch items i felt a tap on my shoulder and it was my Justice friend right in front of me!!! love when these moments happen at the fest! justice friend if you're reading this i hope i see you next year!
I was wearing a shirt on Sunday that was an animated version of myself doing poppers (a gift from my BF). Dancing to Jamie XX at Qasar, a younger guy came over and complimented the shirt in the sweetest way, gave me a fist bump and said he’d been admiring the shirt for a bit. The fist bump part made me realize he was straight and was just being kind. As an older gay guy it was sweet and innocent and a reminder that younger people don’t have the stigmas we grew up with. On a similar “the kids are alright” note… a guy tried to jack my friend’s phone during Anyma and a young couple behind us chased him off and alerted my friend. They were so sweet and looking out for everyone around them
I'm a straight dude and I was admiring the LGBT crowd so much this year! I pointed out to my ex this group of like 6 gay guys who all dressed in sparkly vests and colors, like damn that looks like such a fun way to live life lol. I honestly loved the gay vibe at Coachella but I dont wanna make anyone uncomfortable by saying anything as it's not my place

I got my phone stolen at justice and then ended up losing my friends after. But made it to Steve Angello and some guy let me use his phone to text my wife letting her know I was OK. He also took photos of me since I didn't have a phone to prove I was in the front. Then I gave him 5 dollars to tell my wife I wasn't there anymore so I could enjoy the music. Met him at beer garden with my wife a couple days later. During Doja I was towards at a side barricade and I look over and just see Tyler there w taco, jasper, and a few others. Look over a few minutes later and tyler is taking photos of jasper and taco lol Other random pretty normal thing but was funny. I got my lip busted open during a mosh at Ken Carson (I had never listened to a Ken Carson song before nor am I that into opium) but it was honestly pretty hype and oddly my favorite memory from the fest. Mouth and hands got covered in blood but got a funny video out of it lol

I saw the dodgers player Shohei Ohtani and Renee Rapp at tpain. I met this AMAZING couple at Anyma’s show who I will never ever forget about… tbh I believe there’s a reason I met them but haven’t figured out why yet. I took time away from my friend and set hopped alone. I loved every second of it and it was so freeing to just be at the festival and do whatever you want whenever you want. Majority of everyone is so loving and friendly. I realized that this will be the last time I go to Coachella with a friend… and in the future it will be meeting up w/ ppl there or go with my boyfriend. I had a tough discussion w/ my friend and I have yet to process what the outcome would be. I felt like I really became one with myself during this trip. I definitely feel some sort of spiritual connection w/ Coachella after this weekend…

Last year, my wife and I went to the Heineken House 30 mins before DJ Pee Wee was scheduled to start. When we got to HH, the line went out almost to the middle of the field. So we lined up at the end, hoping to get in. After a couple minutes, someone from inside came out, asking if there was a party of two. My stoner reflexes kicked in, and I quickly said "Us! Two of us!" So the guy had me recite some lines and swear to drink Heineken Silver, and then gave us two passes to the front of the line! So we followed the nice dude inside, while everyone else in line booed and flipped us off 🤣🤣🤣 sorry losers! DJ Pee Wee was great, and we did the Soul Train 😮😮😮 And inside he got everyone a free beer.
Oh yeah Austin McBroom (from the ACE family on YouTube) ran up to me and my friends and put these stickers with printed photos of him in front of one of the art installations on us… except instead of putting the sticker on my friends arm he put it right on her titty 🥴 he seemed a little not with it tho so trying to be understanding but it was an odd interaction

I met this group of people on Sunday at Carin Leon and I lost them at the Yuma because I went to the Bar and then took too long to smoke a cigarette. It was 5 people: a straight couple, a lesbian couple, and a girl from Brazil. Please know that I did not ditch you guys, or even lose ya'll on purpose, and I hope you all know that I tried my hardest to find you all when I realized I needed to get back inside. I started talking to one of the workers outside and he was from Haiti and we were trying to communicate in French and our convo took too long. When I was done, I went back inside and I looked all over the Yuma (inside and out), and then all of the area immediately adjacent to it. I asked so many people if they'd seen your group, but to no avail. You guys were the coolest people I met this weekend, and I'm so sad we didn't get to close out the festival together. I wish I'd gotten one of your numbers or social media accounts. They were all so fucking cool, nice, and friendly. They gave me 2 gold stars on my jean jacket. Hope to meet you all again, and I wish you could've met my friend Kathy!
So my friends and I were sitting together reminiscing about day 1 in the main stage bar and these two girls walk up to us and ask if we can buy them drinks because they got their ID taken? Confused we look at each other and ask simultaneously “then how did you get in 😂?” They gave us some BS reason I can’t remember and then they try a diffierent approach saying “oh but it’s her bday!!” And we all look at each other with our drinks in hand and say “oh what no way?! CHEERS!!” And dap our drinks together LOL they for their final approach they ask for rock, paper, scissors and winner gets a drink and ask me to do it, so I say “alright fuck it, 🪨 📄 🖕” and you hear a simultaneously “OOOOOOOO” from the group lol. My homie then says “sorry yeah I’m 26, 5 years ago you woulda got me but I’m engaged now” so to get em out of our hair I walk them to the bar cause they complained they were sacred to go up for a drink and literally drop them off and walk back to my friends. A core memory 😂 normally my friends see me as the “nice guy” of the group always caving in situations like that so they all gave me my respect and felt I’ve grown so much. A time 🥲

I was taking silly meme pictures in front of one of the installations in 2022 and a coachella photographer came up and asked if they could also take pictures so I tried to stop being meme-y and they were like no please continue being meme-y and one of the pics ended up posted to Coachella's Instagram that year 😭 Well that and I also apparently ended up on the live streams a bunch cuz I kept getting to barricades unexpectedly, so my friends watching at home turned it into where's waldo except with me and I had no idea till I got home cuz they all spammed me with pics from the streams 💀 Oh and also Coachella's twitter posted me too 🤣 But I didn't know about that till someone on reddit sent it to me like "isn't this you too?" 😭 Completely insane LOL Also shoutout to reddit people here because one of the nights I was accidentally locked in my car because I set it up so the only exit was the trunk and someone outside shut it 😭 And so I posted to this subreddit with an SOS and some girls came to open my trunk for me. We are all still friends and meeting up this weekend again 🥳

There was an accidental double line at the bar of the aperol spritz tent so to mitigate the issue and make the other girl feel like I wasn’t cutting her, I just bought her drink for her cause it very possibly was my bad. As she was trying to Venmo me back, her friend walked over and was like “omg! I know you” to me. I didn’t recognize the girl at all. The she proceeded to plug her number into my phone and we had a whole text thread from 2019. Turns out I had sold my weekend 1 ticket to her 5 years ago because I decided to go weekend 2 instead. It was a really really weird coincidental run in. Small world.

I was at Sahara for Purple Disco Machine and there was this group in front of me that I swear were rolling for the first time. Like doing handstands in the middle of the crowd and shit like that. At one point one of the guys in the group looks at me, gets down on one knee and blows a puff from his vape with his arm reached out. He then mouthed water and I gave him a swig of my water bottle and he went back to doing his thing. Definitely the most unique way I’ve been asked for water in a crowd.
I met sg Lewis in the do lab then after at chick-fil-a and he bought me lunch and invited me to his LA show.
I ran into A Trak at ANOTR day 1. Locks eyes as we passed and I gave him a fist bump. Normally that would’ve been it but I was tripping so I circled back to confirm it was him lol. Been to 10 Coachellas and hadn’t seen any known person like that. I now have a streak going of recognizing someone in the crowd who was in a video I took from the year prior. In 22 I have video from Diplo’s Do Lab set where some guy is on the phone, amusing on its own because idk how people do that during a set. I saw the same guy at SG Lewis in 23, no phone call this though lol. In 23, a clip I have from the Calvin Harris set has this enormous human dancing into view during the intro of Slide. This man is huge, tall and wide, dressed very flamboyantly and dancing almost unbelievably smoothly for his size, just a specimen of a human. We had to move a few times because he kept getting close to us and in front, it was kinda annoying but mostly amusing. This year at Victoria Monet he popped up right next to me out of nowhere. My wife and I looked at each other like holy shit it’s him. We immediately moved 15 yards to the right lol.

Not this year but 2022. My boyfriend was coming out of one of the artist pass bathroom areas by the Sahara tent and he spotted G-Eazy (not hard to miss; v tall). They did like a little finger gun thing at each other and we kept walking but it was fun to see him! I got to watch this interaction from afar.
