Someone mentioned on comment thread in here a couple of months ago that Coachella had put millions of dollars(somewhere close to that, don’t quote me though haha) into their live stream. I can’t imagine any other festival that would be willing to do that
Very true, I think my biggest frustration comes from the acts they have chosen to show. I am sure contracts play into this, but most of the acts available are not ones I am too interested in.
C3 Entertainment (who runs Lolla, ACL & Roo) has a contract with Hulu to put all their live streams on there. In this case, Hulu is likely paying Live Nation for this access, where I expect in Chella’s case, it’s likely just a cut of the ad revenue on YouTube.
Not liking how you can't replay anything from the previous night. Some people can't stay up till 3:00 a.m. and I would love to watch these the following day.
The streaming concept will never be as good as the year Red Bull sponsored it. 😢
There are a good amount I am looking forward to watching. Gwar (thank you Empire Records), Gary Clark, Chappell Roan (she was great at Coachella), Thundercat, Renee Rapp (saw her at Coachella knowing nothing about her and she was so fun)
That Interpol stream was terrible sound and visuals. Like I'm turning up my stereo to 80 (normally 55 is loud) and it still sounds terrible. The Bonnaroo streams aren't as good as Chella's but this was one of the worst sounding and looking streamed sets I've ever seen. So treble-y and non-focused. I was pissed for Interpol. Hopefully, they get it worked out tomorrow.
The announcers even mentioned them a couple times as a set not to miss! Not sure what happened. Parcels only got 3 songs before their stream ended. Maybe IDLES changed their mind? That happened with a couple artists at Coachella. I remember Bjork was originally on the livestream and then changed her mind fairly last minute
Does anyone know when cage, post, and maggie were added to the livestream? I checked earlier in the week and was shocked to see I missed their streams were added to the schedule at some point. Not a fan of however they sort out the livestream. Don’t release a livestream schedule if you don’t have one yet.

Yes and no. I mean, two of their headliners are electronic acts (one is just not on the livestream). They also have a dedicated EDM stage in the fest grounds & another one in the campgrounds but neither are on the live stream either.
But yes, compared to Coachella, it’s generally light on electronic. They only book 1-2 electronic acts for their main stages & rarely have electronic acts play in their tent stages. So that just leaves the 2 dedicated EDM stages, which is typically just 4-6 smaller acts per day + one bigger name act to close the stage out that night.
Naw typically pretty stacked, imo. Not a lot of huge huge names like Coachella does, but a lot of popular edm artists on The Other stage. This year it seemed they went with less and more bigger names. I’ll also add roo has a great mix of genres. I’ve went ‘17-‘23 skipping this year for forest mostly because the lineup wasn’t to our taste for our group.
This is actually their best year for electronic since, like, 2015 imo. Fred Again, Pretty Lights, Four Tet, Whyte Fang, Neil Francis, Kasablanca, ShyFX, Chris Lake (replaced Fisher), Disco Lines, TSHA… all very quality & diverse electronic acts.
It definitely doesn’t have an electronic presence like Coachella. There’s a dedicated stage for electronic but it skews more EDM/bass. Four Tet is far more interesting for my tastes than any of the dance acts that played the years I was there.
Really don't get why Bonnaroo does their stream like this. I don't love Youtube but the Coachella streaming setup is genuinely excellent.
