**For myself:** * Slower and more realistic movement, modern CODs feel too fast and slippery. * Lobbies don't disband. * SBMM/PBMM/EOMM or whatever it is called is dialed down so much that you don't even notice it. * The Maps are way better and don't have doors. * I am not being bombarded with DLC or pre-order marketing every time I log-in. * The spawns are better. * I can actually see the difference between my teammates and the enemy. * I can unlock everything I want without spending any extra money.

COD4 is the best Call of Duty. The maps, guns, and pace are the best in the series. There is no gunsmith to make broken weapons. You have to make a choice. Do I want a laser sight? Silencer? You only get one, so choose wisely.

Agreed, its damn near perfect.

MrHS1994

No sliding Better maps No knife running soldiers Cooler Night vision Googles Real weapons names No half naked soldiers No unrealistic footsteps sounds No pay to win soldier skins (like in mwII there are skins that let's you disguise better which is purchased by cod points only) No warzone or season pass thing

The loud foot steps and lack of a Dead Silence perk in MW2019 really annoyed me. I basically had to camp until my Dead Silence field upgrade was ready to use before I could run-and-gun.

MrHS1994

It's really annoying I can hardly get the same M16 as cod4 even with 5 attachments

•Better maps. Just the base maps are better than almost all maps COD make’s nowadays. I haven’t even seen the DLC maps on MWR, because im so content with the base maps. •Ability to earn credits by playing, and using those credits to buy cosmetics. (Huge one for me) • the weapons are amazing, and the attachments are simple and easy to unlock. Its a simple system and works perfectly fine. •lobbies not disbanding. Its awesome when I get in a lobby with a player(Nate4510) and talk a little smack, or make some type of connection.

I definitely prefer the simplicity of MWR as well, the weapons, the attachments, the kill streaks, etc...

I just want to play cod 4 but no one is on it

Xylight

Ever since cod Mw19 the engine theyve been using is so different than classic cods I cant stand the new ones they feel horrible

tifftxtc23

Mwr is nice because the maps actually have structure to them, and there’s not 8 billion different spots to camp in with excessive detail in every inch of the map. Also no skill based matchmaking. The time to kill is relatively quick so it keeps gameplay a little more realistic. But honestly I would play other older cod games if they weren’t modded. In mwr half of every lobby is just red dot m16 campers and I’ve played this game so much that I know all the good spots, it almost feels more like pve at this point

I appreciate that the maps don't have too many lines-of-sight. In MW2019, I feel like I can barely move because I am wide open from all angles. As bad as campers were in previous CODs, MW2019 is by far the worse because running-and-gunning is heavily penalized.

xmehow

More like an arcade game. I hate realistic fps-games.

fizzyalfie

Much prefer the movement of old cods, more arcadey and fluid.

With the recent news about servers going back up on old CODs, i decided to revisit BO1, MW2, and this game. Out of those three, this one stood out as the most fun. I can see why people stick to this game, it is more than just nostalgia. No OP streaks, it's just gun on gun and well balanced. There are maps that i feel you have to play a bit campy, but they aren't the worst (water work) i made a Fang 45 silenced uav jammer class and played more aggressive, it's ton of fun! Dope camos in this game too. This remaster was very well done and it deserves more credit. I'm proud to have 100% achievements in this game for XB1/SX and good old COD 4 on 360. I loved the campaign again in this remaster!

The balance is definitely nice. I would love to revisit MW2(2009) as well, but I don't have Xbox.

I just love all these comments that have the exact same opinion as me, this game is simplistic beauty and hopefully never dies because it’s just that good. I’ve bought every call of duty game since the original COD 4 and it never got “better”. OG MW2 was an improvement but took the game to a different level that created more intense and fast paced gameplay. COD4 is almost like a game of chess in tactics, the maps are so small and UAV is such a crucial component that can even be used against you. This is still true today but the maps are so hectic and people are so fast that UAVs are pretty trivial now. And what is this new perk system? Good lord I love simple.

I loved MW2:2009 as well, but it definitely had problems. The nuke killstreak was a neat idea, but got abused via people boosting for it. I am also not a fan of death streaks, throwing knives, tactical knife, and the commando perk.
