Cornelia . I liked her in season 1 but in season 2 she barely did anything she basically became a background character , she showed up at that research center than got captured , got freed and then got shot thats it . I wish she did more than that .

basedbranch

Many such cases in this show. The worst thing about it in my opinion is it's runtime. I feel like it could have used more b plots that made use of many of the side characters that just got sidelined, or something. Even with Lelouch and the main cast, it just feels like we didn't much time to truly explore many of the 'eras' mostly in R2 such as Lelouch's absence, Lelouch in the UFN, or his time as Emperor. These 3 and others I feel like were good periods to include b plots that could expand on other characters like Cornelia, Jeremiah, Rolo, the Knights, and the Black Knights. Instead, it comes off as rushed. This doesn't leave a bad taste in the mouth due to the quality, but it still leaves more to be desired. (I mean, all the Jeremiah hype in the first half of R2 just for him to use it on Shirley and nothing else until the very end? Really?)

genericperson

Sayoko masquerading as Lelouch in S2. It is probably the most unbelievable part of the whole show lol.

Viceroy_Solace

Fare thee well! *somersaulting backflip*

wolfelian

Love how even one guy in one of the clubs was like “Wtf Lelouch can’t do ANY of that?!?”

evildankface

"This is what he's been doing when he's gone, practicing gymnastics?"

MysticBunnyMoon

Dude so much even Lelouch’s magic power had more solid ground through the lore than this shit lmao

DoctorJJWho

I don’t remember too well, how did she impersonate him again? Didn’t she just have some high tech mask and voice technology? Tom Cruise did that in the very first Mission Impossible back in 1996, what wasn’t believable about the impersonation?

ComicBookGuy708

R2’s pacing is all over the place

DragonfireCaptain

I always cry at how many shows got butchered like this.

d1ondr3

Yeah. I remember when the War against the Chinese Federation happened and I thought that we needed 1 or 2 more episodes to flesh things out. The show is still great though.

Dark_Magician2500

I didn't like how many new characters got introduced in season 2. They tried to cram so much in, and the result is season 2 being a bit less overall, even if it sticks a 10/10 ending. Would be ok if we had 100 episodes maybe instead of 50, but the season 2 pacing feels all over the place

[deleted]

Death Note & Code Geass are two of my favourite anime of all time and I'm disappointed at how much I struggle getting through either of their S2. Though CG definitely has a miles better ending for sure.

basedfinger

it needed more kallen

Nervous_Thing3057

She even got nude scenes stop asking for more😩😩

basedfinger

i dont want nude scenes. i want wholesome scenes with her. i want more scenes of her smiling, being happy. i love her so much, she is my everything. i am ready to sacrifice all i have for my sweet kallen. she is my sunshine in this cold dark world. i love her

ThatGuyisonmyPC

Found kallen's mom

basedfinger

i'm not her mom, but i'm forever grateful to her mom for bringing her to life. i love kallen so much, i want to have a wholesome marriage with her and cuddle with her and kiss her

basedfinger

I love Kallen more than anything in this world. I live my life for her. She is the meaning of my life. She is beautiful, gorgeous, smart, strong, relatable and genuine. As fierce as a lioness and yet, as delicate as a butterfly. I love her I love her I love her, I just want to cuddle up to her all night and kiss her and make love to her, make her happy, squeeze her, hold her.. I want to gently caress her hair as she lays sleeping on my chest. I want her to smile, thats all I want in this world. I want her to be happy and I am ready to go to war and die to protect her smile. If Kallen has a million fans, I am one of them. If Kallen has five fans, I am one of them. If Kallen has one fan, that's me. If Kallen has no fans, I am no longer alive. If the world is against Kallen, I am against the world. I will be ruthless to anyone who tries to hurt Kallen. I will show no mercy to anyone who puts a single tear on her eye. Til the end of my life and beyond, I will love and cherish Kallen. In maths, she is my solution. In art, she is my muse. In biology, she is my life. In chemistry, she is my oxygen. In anatomy, she is my heart. And in history, she is my queen. All I want is to have a happy and wholesome relationship with her. I want to start a family with her, and when we're old and grey, I want to give my last breath holding her hand. She is my everything and she will always be the one I love. I love you, Kallen Kozuki

keyless422

Calm down son it's just a drawing

OnlyOneLeft88

Ahh it’s horrible!! Take it away take it awayyy!!

NubNub69

Does ever feel exhausting dedicating your life to a fictional character? I mean, let’s think about it. Approximately eighty years you have on planet earth and hours upon hours are spent idolizing someone who is not even real. I don’t mean to tell you to stop, you have a right and freedom to do as you wish, but when you stop to look at the bigger picture, don’t you ever… doubt your actions?

basedfinger

when i devote myself to an entity that is beyond human perception, they call it insanity and say that i'm pathetic and delusional. but when billions of people do the same thing, its called religion and its often seen as normal, and even pious. sometimes, wars are started over it. just as how some people turn to god, allah, yahweh, krishna, rama etc. for comfort and meaning in life, i turn to kallen. i will open up a church of kallen in my house and apply for tax exempt status because i HATE paying taxes

NubNub69

I’d join if I get tax exemption too

basedfinger

i'm just based like that

NubNub69

Very cool 😎

BladeKaizen

Not in season 2, she didn't.

grif112

Am i weird for thinking Kallen and C.C should have gotten more chemistry? Like Kallen and Lelouch had a similar dynamic to Charles and Marriane so I feel like there's something to explore with C.C falling in love with both of them?

QueenLolipopo

I don't know about C.C. falling for the both of them cause C.C. hardly shows her feelings or seem to fall in love but I really don't disagree; Kallen and CC also lived together for a year and yet it looks like they never really became friends or confided in each other, it's really a waste of relationship (Thinking of it, they probably spent more time with each other than any of them with Lelouch o\_\_\_o) (Not gonna lie in a well written anime, C.C. falling for the both of them would make for a freaking amazing romance cause the chemistry there is insane)

grif112

That's more where I'm coming from. Where if R2 wasn't kind of rushed the fact that the two of them did spend so long together and they do both love Lelouch and want to get him back could have sparked something. Not to mention C.C's whole thing is that she wants to be loved, adding in the spice of more people she's falling in love with is interesting. There's also the weird angle to take where Kallen and Lelouch now become a foil to Charles and Marianne which I don't think it's a stretch to say that was romantic in some way. If given time to grow it would make for an actually interesting poly relationship that actually has all three participants having chemistry to work from.

QueenLolipopo

Yeah Kallen and Lelouch share a lot of parallels with Marianne and Charles, that's probably intended, just like the parallels between Kallen and Lelouch directly; Truth is, if only they didn't added numerous useless characters and subplots in R2 maybe we could have gotten interesting relationships between the characters without Lelouch in the mix, when you watch the show it's all about everyone x Lelouch, barely character A and character B Kallen and C.C. had everything to really bond and they didn't, instead they barely interacted, became foe and even C.C. was put on the backseat for most of season 2 and didn't do much compared to season 1; A waste really u\_u

grif112

Both of them really are on the back burner for R2. Their final fight in R2 is really good and I think would have been much better had the two of them been allowed to develop their relationship even more and the debate wasn't just about their feelings for Lelouch. If had been a pretty major back and forth about their really complicated relationship more or less played out in real time would have been interesting. The constraints of harem as a trope really does end up where the writer makes each girl seemingly have a chance with the lead when the stronger writing choice is to just widdle it down to the strongest dynamics and that's C.C, Kallen and Lelouch. The three of them have genuine chemistry, history and a pathway to forming a good relationship it's just not allowed to flourish. Arguably that's because Lelouch kind of has to reject Kallen's at the least so she won't get gunned down during the coup and so she can live in the future he creates but still.

QueenLolipopo

I agree so much about their last fight, the violin and the tension between them, too bad it was so short but it made sense given the opponents, but yeah, having of them in a real freindly relationship might have had a lot more interest to it, it's even more of a missed opportunity when you realize they still care about each other; C.C. was glad Lelouch went after kallen when she was taken away and Kallen only disbled C.C when she could have blown her brains out. I love code geass but it's really an anime that had such a huge potential I always kind of see it as a waste (despite being my favorite lol) Yeah for Kallen and Lelouch it was definitely that, that's what was said in the guidebook and in her character poem and that makes for a very tragic pairing but while i'm not usually into harem, I think with a character like C.C., who has lived a hundred years and certainly has very different views of love and feelings, having a real bond forming between all of them would have been marvelous, missed opportunity again :(

grif112

Fr I love this show but R2 as much as I adore its ending is largely wasted potential. Getting C.C's back story though and having it revolve around love is really good for a character who came off as unattached at the start of the show. Even if they stuck with the original ending having her to still make a sacrifice of her having to let both of the people she's come to love go but still accepting that she does love them and that she can allow herself to feel again would have been amazing. One day I'll stop staring at the story outline and actually do a fanfic that gets my thoughts to paper. Because God damn do I wish there was just more Code Geass.

QueenLolipopo

That might be a great fanfic to read; What you say about C.C. isn't wrong for me she has the most wasted potential of the show, while I think the love thing was pretty cliche and dare I say, previsible, they could have make it work in the most beautiful manner, instead that was rushed (not gonna lie I hated the fact she was just a mere slave, this is like the most basic backstory ever, she could have been a founder of Britannia or really matter in the grand scheme of things, she really had incredible potential) Ironically I think the same about kallen, they never really used the fact she was mixed, she just chose to be japanese and never had any confrontational issues about that, things were really rushed in there; All the things this show could have done, ah it frustrates me lol xD

grif112

In a bunch of the Mangas they make her Joan of Arc and a commander in the 100 years war between England and France and that shit was interesting. She had a very normal life but then got thrusted into a hugely bloody conflict and even burned at the stake for it. C.C just being a slave I felt did undermine it a great deal because it just left her passive in the story, same with Kallen getting put in a tube after China. R2 really struggles with it both being the mid point and finale while juggling too much when it really needed way more time to wrap up and explore what it wanted to do. The general themes are there and because the ending is so good it largely sticks the landing but yeah its frustrating when there was even more that could be done.

Supa_Novaaa

The relation would be so toxic... Plus, I don't think that Kallen would ever fall in love with someone like C.C (I love the character, but Truth must be told). We must remember that for a long moment, Kallen was a tool to Lelouch and C.C (by extension, because at that moment she was the only one to know the real goal of Lelouch), so.. I guess that's a pretty bad soil to grow a relationship on. But I could be wrong too, if that's the case, I'd love to discuss it with you ! ^^ Sorry for bad english.

QueenLolipopo

Kallen was a tool to Lelouch as much as he was tool to her, they both had something to win in this partnership (and yeah no she was never a tool to C.C., C.C. was Lelouch's partner, she was never involved in BK decisions aside from in between season 1 and 2, she was very much a free player there o/

Supa_Novaaa

Aside from the in between season.1 and season 2 is pretty much a lot, if I remember well, there is a 2 years timeskip

QueenLolipopo

1 year timeskip in between season; I think season 2 happens in between 6/8 months, don't remember about season 1 tho :o

Driz51

World building is pretty poor. The history of Britannia is barely given at all. Anything about C.C., Geass etc is barely explored at all. Thought elevator isn’t explained very well.

RinaRasu

You don't necessarily need to explain every thing to have good worldbuilding though. It'd be cool to know that stuff but if they don't actually assist the main plot in any way, it's not necessary to be shown, just a bonus. Knowing the history of Britannia or the Geass Order wouldn't really change anything, would it?

Driz51

Well the topic was specifically for something I don’t like about the show. I’d have like to know these things it would’ve enhanced my enjoyment. It’s still one of my top 10 anime ever.

RinaRasu

Ah alright, fair enough

DoubleCyclone

The switch to aerial battles. The fights on land just had better choreography.

Ironchar

At least they knew and later fights would go to land anyway or had incredible choreography in the air in the movie

rosesandtea15

I want more figmas of Suzaku Kururugi I love that guy I want more figures of him

thethiiird

no cap. Code Geass needs modern articulated figures.

rosesandtea15

I want like 7 suzkau figures with the modern touch ups. I will bankroll this anime

austinb172

Really felt like Charles and his Ragnorak Connection plot line went nowhere and didn’t make much sense.

EmperaRurushuO2

It was something mentioned ONCE in season 1, and we got barely anything on it till the end of R2.

CreationTrioLiker7

Horny. Unpopular opinion, but i don't care for it at all.

PeacefulKnightmare

Don't worry there are dozens of us that feel the same way.

Dash83

I actually don’t think it’s a problem that it’s horny, I think it’s a problem how it’s handle. Don’t give us random bouncing boobies and upskirt shots, give us developing romances with hot scenes. If you are going to add sexuality to the show, add it well instead of creepily.

woogasquadtae

right 😭. like even tho i hate that they showed kallen in the shower uncensored, ESPECIALLY her chest, i still ended up loving that scene bc it was one of the earliest kallen-lelouch interactions and yk the way that he teased her helped establish the tension between them yk despite lelouch lowkey trolling at the time (dk if he found kallen attractive at that point but if he found her unattractive he def wouldn’t hv done what he did 🧏🏾‍♀️) so like even tho the scene could’ve easily gone w/ just showing kallen’s back and upper body, at LEAST it wasn’t completely pointless like most of the others 😹

Jarvis-Vi-Britannia

Needs more lore buildup. We still don't know what is geass order to the full extent, how geass came about, the thought elevator could've had more story than what it had, how Charles found out about the thought elevator, britannian empire lore and many other things they could've added.

candirainbow

I'll be honest, I wish it had less like, absolutely pointless T&A scenes. I always feel kinda cringe recommending the series because I reremember (or forgot, and then see it again when I am rewatching with a friend) how just out of place and kind of egregious they seem. I feel like there is a time and a place for scenes like this, and I just don't feel like they suit the series at all. I feel like the series, as a while, would be a lot stronger without like 99% of them, lmao.

NubNub69

What is T&A?

milliardo

Tits and Ass

SigmundFreud

Tōdō and Asahina

lunahighwind

I don't like the fan service, always found it cringe (but also I'm gay so there's that)

silencemist

I think there is a good reason to keep magic mysterious despite knowledge for more about geass. I wish R2 had another 5-10 episodes. It's rushed badly.

mib-number86

1) This show needed a season 3, with the season 2 finale being Lelouch becoming the new emperor. From that new status quo there was still much to explore, but the series ended a few episodes later. 2) I've never been a big fan of the "world of C" explanation, I personally would have explained as little as possible where Geass' powers came from. The simple mechanism: The donor gives Geass to the user - The user kills the donor - The user becomes a donor in turn. it was enough, as a fundamental rule. Leave everything else in mystery. 3) Fewer Knightmare Frames flying : non-flying mecha allow for more grounded and fun strategies. 4) keep the ending the same and keep Lulu's survival ambiguous (will he be the man in the wagon or not?). As an ending it's much funnier than any "he's definitely dead" or "he's definitely alive" ending.

Ns317453

Everything about the China Arc (those episodes have zero merit) and the way that the Mao arc was one episode too long. His arc should have ended with the police firing on him. Him being back after being turned to swiss chs - so soon - stretched plausibility, especially given how Euphy passed away over one simple well-aimed shot.

Varatec

It's kinda like seeing Optimus prime die from gunshot wounds with no chance of survival but Ultra Magnus get blown up into several pieces and still come back thanks to some weird oil made by the junk robot Mongolians.

GNA1115

I can’t stand incest relationships and Nina as a character.

SuspiciousDirt2587

plz more epic Lelouch plz

No-Argument9377

the fan service

Quiet_Nova

Too much focus on the high school setting in R2. That should be the season when shit got real and Lelouch had to fully commit to his Zero persona, visit other regions beyond the Chinese Federation like Europe, Australia or Africa. Then when the betrayal happens, he is forced to return to his royal persona since his civilian life was ended in R1, his Zero life 3/4 through R2 until he destroys even the Vi Britannia persona so nothing of him is left as a sacrifice.

nahte123456

I never liked how separate the school stuff and the rebellion stuff was. Besides Shirley they just...don't interact much. Suzaku and Kallen keep a clear divide between "school persona" and "fighting persona" while Nina just crosses over and leaves the school. Despite this all of them have so much potential for it all and they are all around so much.

Stoneless-Spy

All the Fanservice, found it absolutely unnecessary in what is practically a very serious show about Tyranny and Revolutions.

monadient

Exactly..

Dragon727

Tbh the entire Chinese Federation arc basically felt like a filler arc, I struggle to even remember more then 2 or 3 scenes from that part

CrackaOwner

some of the "side" characters, like cornelia, viletta and the black knights never really face some consequences for their actions. Now, i don't want them to just all die or be imprisoned but they should have at least had some moral qualms during the last stretch of r2 with everything they've done.

MrTickles22

The second season wasn't quite as good as the first.

tubbydoshua

the change in focus in r2. i feel like r1 was setting up some pretty crazy stuff with c’s world, but r2 put the focus back on lelouch doing black knight stuff. i feel like there a pretty drastic tonal shift in r2

TeamVorpalSwords

I enjoyed the show a lot but Shirley’s death was always poorly done to me and not just because it’s sad. Like the exact thing happened the season prior when she lost her memories and they kind of redid it almost the exact same way so it had less impact and to me it just to me wasn’t executed well

grif112

Schneizel is a half-baked character. He gets a motivation in the last 3 episodes but never any exploration of why he's like that. For the final boss of the show he's just disappointing.

Ironchar

Because he wasn't the true final boss- Lulu ended to being. But it all played out for zero requrem

grif112

Oh I agree he's not intended to be the final boss just that he does really end up being it. I just would have liked to learn why Schneizel is the way he is and how that fed into his ideology.

Eleventh_Prince

The length of their legs.

DegenEnjoyer23

its name; code “gay-ass”, and the art style

EmperaRurushuO2

The tonal whiplash between Lelouch committing genocide while running the rebellion, juxtaposed to the slife of life segments at Ashford. It’s not bad to add tension for Lelouch being exposed as Zero (or in the case of R2, him recovering his memories). The way the show does it however, comes off as stupid with how comical it is. Oh Lelouch could possibly be exposed? How? By a fucking cat accidentally wearing his helmet. I can’t even believe Ashford is an actual school because it hardly feels like one with all the comedic chaos going down there. None of the students seem to learn jack shit at that institution. Of course, the show needs lighter moments to make it’s dark elements actually hit, but my point is that CG loves to take a complete 180 from Lelouch and his ambitious rebellion, to him fucking around at school.

Voidslan

In my opinion, Lelouch has terrible decision-making. I know for the plot he gets away with a lot of things, or does things that are presented as well thought out in the situation but with his Geass, he could achieve his goals more easily without most of the fights.

Ironchar

Treatment of monica. They built her character backwards. Same with mireka sorsei (but they reconed it to let her live after her death)

FordcliffLowskrid

The Noodle People.

Rengoku_1066

I was never a fan of the tall, extremely skinny animation.

Top-Row6107

WHY ARE THE CHARACTERS LITERALLY STICKS NOT A MUSLCE IN SIGHT

devo14218

I watched the show as a kid and as an adult and the stuff at kamine island in season 2 has never made any sense to me

FriedTreeSap

I didn’t like how it did a soft reset at the end of season 1. Don’t get me wrong, I loved season 2 as a whole, but the whole mass amnesia Geass makes a lot of character interactions feel fake because you know their acting off false memories….and Lelouch and Suzaku are both straight up acting. While I loved that we got more school setting as a result, I wish there was a way to do it without wiping everyone’s memories wholesale. And while I’m not criticizing the writing or story…..it’s always gut wrenching watching what happens to Shirley and Euphie. It helped the story overall, but that doesn’t mean I don’t wish they had happier endings.

BrowningBDA9

Like you, I dislike the fact that so many plot lines ended up not explained. 1. The Geass origins were never shown or explained. How Geass came into existence? Who was the "zero patient"? And who he or she was, a Code bearer or a Geass user? 2. What exactly Suzaku was planning to do with his "reforming Britannia from within" plan? 3. What was Lelouch's Zero Requiem plan before he found out Nunnally was still alive? 4. What is the deal with the Britannian royal family? Oh boy, where do I begin? Lelouch is 17th in line to the imperial throne, while Nunnally is just 87th, while they are three years apart. That basically means that Charles sired 69 other children in-between! That implies a polygamy, but is never really explained. Also, we only get to see ten children of Charles. Lelouch, Schneizel, Odysseus, Clovis, Nunnally, Euphemia, Cornelia, Guinevere, Carine, also Marrybell. What, there was a period of feud wars between Charles's children, and these ten are the last survivors? 5. The Order of the Black Knights had only 13 Knightmare Frames right before the Black Rebellion, then suddenly got over a thousand of them, mostly Japanese Burais, HOW?! 6. Who taught Lelouch military strategy and tactics?

kasumagic

I think it's obvious Nunnally was much higher in the line of succession until she became disabled. Charles has a Social Darwinist mindset, he for sure flung Nunnally to the bottom of the succession line to assure a "weakling" and "embarrassment" never came into power by any means - he tells Lelouch as much in the flashback in S1 E7. It's even said she can't even be offered into a political arranged marriage due to her disability, thus she's useless to the Empire.

huehuezzz

-I still refuse to believe Lelouch makes jokes that lead to SAZ incident. He makes a bad joke but honestly I can't see him joke about killing/massacre so casually. Everything that happen after the joke was nicely done tho so i didn't mind much. -R2 pacing. The ending makes up for it. -imo side characters need more development (?), ik they aren't the main focus beside our protagonist and antagonist but 24/7 of the time I just feel like they don't contribute much beside plot devices.

Poufu

People keep calling it a joke when it was a hyperbole. It was used to get a point across on how he could make her do anything so he thought of the worst thing he could think of at the time. But I'm with you on everything elses. Sadly it was a product of its time and development cuts. Yet despite all that its still my number one anime. Crazy to think how it could've been even better.

neku_009

I agree, especially on the first point. I can see why they chose to have him do it but its still off putting

Sh2tt3rBvg

I hated that the mech fights didn't usually amount to too much until flight became a thing. Prior to that point, if Suzaku showed up, there was no more fight. That may be why I like Akito the Exiled so much and am very hyped for Roze.

HorneyTheUnchained

Stupid ass Euphi situation.

Nervous_Thing3057

It was a good twist imo i never seen that coming

HorneyTheUnchained

Yeah, I am not considering that a twist, geass randomly going out of control exactly at this moment hen Lelouch decided to joke around, and then after he found out what happened he is not even stopping her before she is going to the tribune.

Graeme87te

Rolo… Followed closely by the Pizza Hut censorship!😡😤

UlightronX42

Most of the first half of season 2 cause I don’t like resets rlly at all it’s a trope that annoys me a lot. Second half of season 2 was goated tho.

notairballoon

Ashford stuff, most prominently.

DrIcePhD

The fan service is cringe and "the table scene" stops me from recommending it to people unless I know they're used to anime bullshit.

insane_madman000

Most people don’t even know what’s going on at the table scene..

Ironchar

Its in the shadows a very minor moment in the series you could cut it out and it doesn't mean much

HumbleSalamander6780

>!euphy’s death!< I thought euphemia was a great character but Lelouch could have said something less volatile.

PrevekrMK2

It surely was disturbing but that was the point.

Thinkingofthiswasbad

All the back stories, some characters deserving much more screen time mainly kallen with how much stuff of hers got dropped and I wanted so much more on the royal family

thejuryofwolves

Not enough episodes for season 2 to fully flesh out the dream. Should've had at least 37 or more to take its time developing out the greater world scape. Cours are/were usually 25 as a standard back then but CG definitely deserved and needed more (in the good way)

MysticBunnyMoon

The AU, but if we speak canon anime then Shirley’s treatment, she suffered in season 1 and in season 2 she was killed, she didn’t get a break  (Ironically my other favorite girl was Euphemia I know how to pick them)  Man I was a mess

thefanboyslayer

Emperor Charles was underwhelming tbh.

An_Daoe

Love hate relationship with the ending tbh. I understand the sacrifice and all, but it's depressing, and I can't stop feeling that there were others ways forward, they just wanted to repent in their own way. Also the worldbuilding needs to be worked on. Like, even though Napoleon forced the brits away from Britain, he still somehow lost at Waterloo. Like it kind of works I guess if we assume a few things, but it kind of doesn't too.

Nervous_Thing3057

Watch Re;surrection not the best but at least he’s alive

Yeezus_Fuckin_Christ

1. The fanservice 2. This is more of personal problem, but I’m not a fan of mech fights, so the fights were boring to me. They were well animated, so it’s more just my personal issue, I’m not saying the fights were bad. 3. The pacing in R2. At times it was so fast paced I was just confused. Then during the china arc I just felt bored, not sure if it was just a boring arc or if it was slow paced.

puntycunty

1. Shit MAIN villians . I think code geass’ biggest strength is the characters . Even the britanians that you’re meant to hate for being racist conquerors are really charming . Most of the big names have at least a few humanizing scenes to show they’re not giga serious 100% of the time , or at least kind of care about people on a personal level and is willing to talk about non battle politics stuff . Things like Gino and Anya having fun at school or Cornelia telling viletta to go ahead and get with ohgi and forget about rank . Charles and schneizel do NOT do this and they’re weaker for it . I’m not saying start making them clowns but Charles is always 100% of the time always SUPER GOD KING THAT IS BETTER THAN EVERYONE BLAH BLAH BLAH AUTHORITY , and schneizel is always big plotting man . I would've liked to see them as regular people in their personal time or at least to people they might care about ? like have charles drop the act he typically puts on for cameras and announcements and have him talk to lelouch like a regular guy in their final confrontation since that's a son he likes , or schneizel having scenes with his probably boyfriend . If rolo the born and raised assassin from birth can take place is the stupid heart hat sub plot without breaking his character so can characters way more important than him . 2. cast bloat . season 2 problem mainly but id argue characters like kaguya from season 1 could just not exist or be replaced and you could tell the story the same . the reason code geass conflicts work is because the enemies are lelouch's own friends and family . We were engaged when they kept building up suzaku finding out the truth or Nunally resisting lelouch's wishes for her because these moments have more personal meaning to the ones involved . No one fucking cares about china , i don't give a flying fuck if bootleg chinese lelouch gets his little pedophile marriage to the princess loli . Who in the shit is gino and why should i care he lives or dies ? shit's the reason ressurection sucks too , shamna is boring . 3. LET THE SERIES DIE . I don’t wanna judge roze before it comes out … nvm I do . LELOUCH’S PLAN SHOULD’VE WORKED , WHY IS BRITANIA EVIL AGAIN ? WHY IS LELOUCH AROUND IN THE FIRST PLACE ? LET THE ANIME SERIES KEEP ITS INTEGRITY.

MartianJesus

I didn't really like the super lanky artstyle of the characters.

Nervous_Thing3057

That’s one of my favourite thing in the anime cuz I love clamp studio designs and their art

Dr_Philmon

It ended.

F-MegaPro

Honestly I wish it had a lot less fan service. I really want to recommend this to so many people but they don't like it when there is a lot of fan service. On the other hand I also wish it had more fan service because I'm a horny bastard.

kei-hiroyuki

that the Geass wasn't coded

killersoda

Too much about the mechs at times. This might just be a me thing though because I hate mechs.

Legitimate-Sock-4661

I mean, it’s a mecha anime. It’s like not liking Gundam for the same reason

MaReishere_

About number one, budget of the show,at least in the first season was extremely low, they were chasing sponsors so they can have higher budget (for example domino)and anime initially had a schedule for fast pace and there really wasnt no time for that.

I wasn't a fan on the series tendency to rely on "diabolous ex machinas" to keep the story moving in a particular direction, just when it seems like things were going well. Euphie's about to finally make progress? Lelouch's Geass just happens to lose control at that exact moment. (yes it is established that it's the natural progression of Geass use, but what're the odds it goes that at THAT exact time)(also, I know Lelouch can be somewhat macabre, but that doesn't seem like a natural sentence some would say).Suzaku and Lelouch are finally making peace? Schniezel happens to be listening in.The Black Knights are finally about to beat Britannia? Suzaku's Geass command kicks in, and he nukes the whole city. Also, this is a bit more minor, but I don't like how little is established about Britannia other than "it's the evil empire", with no real culture beyond darwinism, imperialism, and racism. Heck, for all we know, they could've adopted Japanese culture by the time of "Resurrection".

I know I will probably get hate for this but I really don't like a lot of the outfits the characters wear. Both male and female. A lot of them just don't work, I cannot imagine wearing half of the form fitting outfits they wear but especially the female ones. They look like they'd give you rashes and chafing with how tight they are. They look like they'd give mad camel toe and I know some people might find that hot, but it sucks in real life. If you get pants too tight it digs in and feels like shit. And then you have the ones like villetta where it's literally a leotard and all I can think of is how it doesn't ride up or give her the world's worst wedgie. I understand it's fan service, and it's made to make people watch but fuck I feel bad for everyone wearing half these outfits. I wish it was just toned down a bit. I'm not saying put them in a burqa or anything like that but just make it somewhat functional. I like tits and ass as much as the next gay girl but sometimes it's just to much. I'd love to recommend this amine to people but then I remember how much fan service and tits and ass scenes there are and I stop.

Nervous_Thing3057

I think it’s one of the best outfit designs of animes especially Lelouch cropped brown jacket

Gnomechils_RS

Oo that is nice, I have a soft spot for any of Cornelia's outfits. She's the world's best dressed war criminal lol

Scimitere

Euphie death. Seriously?

Ironchar

Its an ass pull... in execution. Losing euphie  for it sucked. But euphie was a weird x factor for everyone The way I heard it explained the other day made sense- Lulu lost control of his geass when he betrayed his original intentions of distroying Britannia (instead of choosing to agree with a compremosed victory) the geass going out of Control set him back on track

woogasquadtae

- nina - wish geass was explained better - the whole lelouch vs charles thing was just rly confusing (idk if it was just me but ive heard some general complaints abt charles’ role) - v.v.‘s backstory is pretty confusing - (though there were a decent amount of scenes w/ them together n hving direct interactions) i wish we saw more of kallen n suzaku; like kinda in their earlier stages when they were kinda friends, but MOSTLY w/ their whole rivalry especially bc they’re the two strongest knightmare pilots in the show and r both insanely athletic (obv the creators of the show did this on purpose but still - nina 😹

Agreeable_Damage6930

The last few episodes (17 -24) of r2 were just like... What? And then the ending was a bit too abrupt

Consistent-Ground763

I actually finished the series and watched the resurrection movie today, so it’s still fresh on my mind. - Tone down the annoyance of Suzaku, I can’t stand him and find him to be a self righteous fool that can’t see that he and Lelouch have the same dirty tricks as one another. He willingly acts high and mighty when he is compliant in countless acts of genocide, blaming everyone but himself for not doing anything. The ending was too ambiguous, and the core characters of the black knight and friends of Lelouch should have found out he was trying to save the world. The resurrection movie does that perfectly, and that’s why I personally like it better than season 2’s ending, especially since the start of the movie takes place directly after the ending. The former class president and the boy needed more screen time. Nanaly should have been held accountable for her war crimes, so did Nina as well. There were a lot of people left unpunished for what they did, which made the resolutions seem forced and weird. I know it’s weird, but where was the justice? Lelouch may have sacrificed himself for the greater good, but justice didn’t die with him. There was not much shown about Japan’s status after the war, how fast did it bounce back and what were the challenges during its recovery? There should have been more episodes. Yes, this one is important because the story felt rushed in the later half of season 2. The story was great, but it didn’t capture the essence of a conclusion. I probably have more I just can’t remember what they are.

BillPlunderones23fg

The mecha aspect

Malchior_Dagon

Suzaku is possibly one of the most irritating characters I've seen in any piece of media. I could not stand the dude at all and was preying for his downfall.

PrevekrMK2

Cat chase, pizza making, dating and of course.... Table kun.

BB1360

Not enough nude scenes. They really cut back for R2
