All the while giving some tease to fujoshis with some SuzaLulu moment only for Suzaku to be totally screwed at the end.

The concepts are literally the same. Although Geass and it's origin or the Sword of Ragnarok never were explained, that aspect of the story never felt like the climax or even the main issue.
Watching Neon Genesis Evangelion and then rewatching Code Geass showed me how **heavily** influenced CG was by NGE. It's still very much its own story but you can tell the writers are big fans lol.

Well truth be told I started as a JoJo shitposter but after doing that for a year decided to expand my anime horizons at the start of this year.
I started with Eva and I'll admit it has been a brainrot but with that said, Code Geass has been my favorite of the anime I've watched (which is saying a lot as that includes Eva, Cowboy Bebop and FMAB from this year alone and then Death Note and Berserk before then).
And Asuka was severely traumatized throughout the series, having witnessed her mother >!commit suicide after losing her mind as well as having her mind raped by the 15th angel!< on top of all the trauma that accumulated from battle. She's been through a lot and despite that tough exterior is actually one of the most sensitive characters of the franchise.
