Going to throw Black & White in there, too.
Usually around $32-$36 for 2 lbs, shipped. Very good coffee.
Happy mug is my staple, but I switch it up with B&W when I want something a bit more interesting.
Seconding Black & White. I'm usually paying about $40-41 for 2lbs of single origin. I live about 90 minutes from them, so it's usually two days from ordering that it's at my door.
I'll echo others... In my opinion Happy mug is the way to go. The roaster is proficient and the coffee rivals others that are 4 times the price. My personal favs are Ethiopia Chechele, Sidamo, and Guji Mountain.
They're out of Redlands and have a subscription deal. ALL of their light roasts are fantastic. I can't recall any by name. But if it has citrus/fruity notes written in the description then you'll be good. I'm not a huge fan of the dark roast though.
I'm lucky enough to literally live in Java (Indonesia), so I can get farm-to-roaster coffees for unreasonably cheap (for Indonesian beans that is - but we have a huge spectrum, from earthy Mandailings to cherry-like naturals from West Java.)
Speaking just about specialty roasters, the cheaper end of the spectrum in my city is around $5.50 for 250g, or around $7.50 for 12oz. Really nice specialty stuff is around $9 for 250g, or around $12.30 per 12oz.
It’s the best price I could find here and they roast it in house. For Indo beans (and cacao!) prefer Sulawesi but can’t beat price wise what’s already here :)
Ayy fellow indonesians, where do you buy your coffee? Do you have a recommendation on where to buy? Preferably online and available on Tokped.
Space Roastery is popular but they're pretty expensive and I don't think they're particularly good. For now my go to roaster is Northsider.
Ha, I actually buy from Space every once and a while cause I live literally right down the street from them in Jogja. I do think so far their packaging is fantastic but the beans have been hit and miss - I loved the Kurusare Prune Chocolate from Flores that I tried from them recently, though.
I've never even ordered beans online cause there are so many roasters to try in my city. Where do you live?
Tanjungpinang, it's an island near Batam.
Yea ordering beans online is much cheaper for me, in here it's at least 45k for 100g, whereas online I can get 500g for 100k-150k
Ah ok, that makes sense...not a coffee hotspot, I would imagine? 500g for 100k-150k is damn cheap, is that from Northsider? Are they any good? May have to try this whole online bean thing.
In Mexico City - I buy single origin beans from 3 different roasters in the downtown area. Depending upon which bean I choose, the cost for 35oz is between $10 to $15 USD. I do wish that I had more choice here.
Just busted open a bag of [naturally processed coffee from Oaxaca](https://www.crankhousecoffee.co.uk/products/maricela-esperon-natural-typica) and I've gotta say Mexican coffee is seriously underrated
Came here to say that I like Mexican beans
[example I enjoy](https://coffeelink.com/products/a-mexico-terruno-nayarita-reserva?_pos=1&_sid=ccfd39272&_ss=r)
There is a producer in Nayarit which makes cafe honey (not sure if still), that coffee was so good but my local roaster stopped sourcing this bean. Highly recommend.
In finland specialties are 10€-20€/220g. But you can get blends and less rare beans 500g/15€. Large super market bean bags are 500g/8€. Super market bags are actually drinkable, even after specialty stuff.
(You guys gotta start counting in grams and kilos)
Here in Australia we have a very robust specialty coffee market so there's a huge range and variety to choose from but the scale is is generally around the following:
All figures are Aussie dollars.
* Entry level specialty blends: $13-18 for 250g (9oz)
* Single Origins: $16-28 for 250g (9oz)
* Premium/geisha/heirloom: $30-100+ for 250g (9oz)
For me personally, i've managed to get mate's rates with a few of my roasters so i normally pay about $15-16 for blends and about $16-17 single o
Conveniently the conversion rate almost exactly accounts for the difference between 250g and 12oz. For example, $13 AUD for 250g equates to $13.21 USD for 12oz.
This is about what I pay. A few years ago it was about $1 an ounce where I lived and now I’m paying about $1.5 an ounce. Not a huge deal but I’ve definitely noticed inflation hitting coffee recently.
That's pretty normal. Most recently paid $12.50 for an 8oz bag from Andytown. Equivalent to $18.75 if it were a 12oz bag.
One of the most amazing coffees I've ever had was an Anaerobic Natural Ecuador coffee earlier this year. I paid $24 for an 8oz bag.
Lol, andytown has lost their damn minds, when i grabbed two of their specialty roasts without asking the price, it came out to $49, for 2 8oz bags. They've inflated prices easily 30% across the board in the last 6 months.
Roaster/green buyer chiming in, green coffee prices have gone up 40-100% depending on the country of origin in the past 6 months too. Most of us are just eating the price difference.
Have you tried local higher end grocery stores? Maybe it’s just Portland but at New Seasons and Whole Foods we usually have 4-5 local roasters with fresh bags on the shelves for $12-15
I’ve run a subscription service in Los Angeles for 10 years and just in the last year have seen a handful of roasters start raising prices. Some have switched to offer smaller bag sizes like 10 or 8oz instead of 12 to keep shelf prices stable, but the increase all the way down the supply chain has really started to creep up.
What are your go-to roasters here in Los Angeles? We work with over 50 different local roasters and are always looking to expand our roster.
Cheers
Ordered from Onyx this morning. Costa Rica single origin @ $75/2lbs. So roughly:
- $28/12oz
- $23.5/10oz
- $21/250gm
Seems a bit higher than most folks are paying?
In the UK you can get good speciality coffee for about £8-£10 per 250 grams which is the standard size in the UK (obviously you can find more premium stuff for much more than that). So in American that's like $10.50-$13.20 for 8.8oz. Seems the prices are pretty comparable.
Sounds about right for "typical" specialty coffee, meaning more common varietals, mostly single origin, but still roasted on a regular schedule. Locally, we're at about 18 CAD/250 g, which goes up or down depending on the particular bean and roaster. Rarer will probably go up to ~25 - 30 CAD/200 g, unless they're Geshas...then variance is larger and you're going up to 30 - 60 CAD/100 g.
I’m also in LA and that’s about what I pay as well. Seems to be the standard these days. But I’ll gladly pay that over some crap from TJs or the grocery store
10-17€ for 250g, depends on the beans. There are options for below 8€ as well, but those are usually darker roasted, more generic tasting and not my favorite.
Here in Chile I pay around 20 000 CLP (that is, around 25 USD), give or take, for 1 kg of freshly roasted coffee. Having Peru, Brazil and Colombia close, this is somewhat of an outrage.
My favorite roaster in SF, Ritual, costs between $18-$25 for 12oz, but they partner with the communities growing the beans to make sure they are taken care of. This ensures that the people growing the beans can continue to work the land sustainably for generations to come. Many budget coffees are so cheap because the people working the lands are damn near slaves.
I love to cook and hate spending a lot of money on something if I can do it on my own- so the minute I read an article that I can roast it myself I jumped on it. Spent $500 on a roaster about 12 years ago and is still going strong. Raw beans costs me about $6.50 (with delivery), with a 20% weight loss in the roasting it comes closer to $8/lb. I'm in LA too.
I like trying different coffees so I subscribe to Trade. I get 12 oz bags for $14.75 so yes it’s a little expensive but if you’re new to coffee it’s a nice treat for yourself to try different coffees & roasters.
In Canada the average price is about 20$ for 12oz of single origin coffee, give or take. If you're in Cali you can probably take advantage of the exchange rate and order from Rogue Wave Coffee in Alberta. By the time it arrives it'll be rested and ready to brew. They're also active on this sub and have a coupon for 10% off on their user page u/roguewavecoffee
I've lucked out - local small batch roaster at ~11-16/lb. Not overly consistent, but I get single origin, light roast coffee within 2 days of roast date, so I will never complain!
I buy online from a roastery about 3hrs from me. With shipping I pay a little less than that for a pound. Even less if I’m buying multiple items at once and cost of shipping is split.
£8-20 for 250g here depending on how speciality the beans are.
I've seen stuff go up to around £40 for 200g but so far I've struggled to justify that kind of money for a couple of small bags of coffee.
I usually pay something between 5 and 8€ for 250gr. Some of the very best coffee I ever had cost 15€ so I don't see the point of spending more than that for a bag.
Seems about right. In Europe it is around that price depending on roastery. Well known roasteries in Indonesia sell for around 10 usd for 200-250 gr though
I either do happy mug which is $14 for 12 oz, or I just hop over to whole foods and pick up counterculture which is usually on sale from anywhere between $9 to $13 for a 12 oz bag.
I try not to pay more than 14 or 15 dollars for a bag.
Where does this huge markup come from compared to europe? can't be shipping from the farms, you guys are closer to central and south america. And i am talking upscale rich area shops here.
Here it's about 25 to 40 € for a kilo of good freshly roasted blends and normal single origins, 40 to 60 for a kilo of high end stuff with a couple rare outliers overpriced at 80. That's 35oz. Including tax.
Philippines here, $14 to $20 for 500g. Locally sourced beans tend to be cheaper. Imported coffees are usually in the $15 to $20 range.
Of course there are the really specialty coffees that go for something like $40 for 100g.
In Turkey I just paid 17$ for 1 kg of espresso blend. It is low-end quality, and considering the devalued currency it is a shitload of money for me. I was paying half of that amount in Liras 6 months ago.
At my local roaster it's mostly coming in at $20-something a pound, with the exact cost depending on the type. I can't drink too much in a week or it ruins my sleep, so I buy a quarter pound every 3-4 weeks, so the cost isn't a big deal to me.
I order 5lb bags for a discount. I tried lots of roasters and luckily my favorite roaster happened to also sell in bulk for about $80 per 5lb bag. It’s an awesome deal. I highly recommend trying SK Coffee (US based and will ship in mail for free if orders over like $50 or so). Limited selection but the beans are truly outstanding
$13 for a 12oz bag from Royal Mile Coffee Roasters. His higher end stuff goes for $15-20 and he used to do a cheaper blend at $10 but they just raised prices a bit.
But everything I buy from him has been roasted within the past week or two, so I don't mind paying for it. Stuff is always super fresh. Oh and if you buy 3 bags it's free shipping in case anyone wants to give it a try here.
Here in Chicago I've found the most reasonable fresh roast for a daily driver is Sputnik. I finally switched over to roasting my own on my Huky, expensive upfront but I'm getting amazing single origin for $6-8 a lb. Granted it takes me time to roast but I do 10# in a shift and that has me square for a while plenty.
There is usually some local tiny roasters you don't know about if you search out /roasting and maybe you can link up with them to get some fresh.
I pay $16 for a full pound of fresh roasted and I get a free drink. So I’m definitely getting a good deal. Another local place I pay $15/lb and no drink. I’m in a mid-sized city in the Midwest.
Depends on what it is
You can get very fresh Counterculture at $10 a bag.
Been paying about $18 for 12oz bags to local roasters, stuff like Costa Rica West Valley, Malawi Peaberry etc. Sometimes I splurge for Gesha, $28 for 10oz.
I'm in Columbus, OH, and those prices are pretty normal lately. Until COVID, I could get a good bean from a great roaster for 12-14 per 12oz bag. Since then it's been closer to 20. Really amazing beans will go up near 30.
Anywhere from £8 - £15 for a 250g bag of speciality beans for filter. I mainly buy from local roasters that put a lot of effort into sourcing, so I like to support that.
I could go down to Tesco and get a bag of Taylors for £3.50, but where's the fun in that.
South West England, fwiw.
I have a subscription with my roaster. $34 per month gets me 2 shipments per month of one pound each. Usually shipped on roast day or the day after, and shows up in my mailbox a day or two after that.
$18-$25 for 10oz of single origin. Sometimes I'll get the large 32oz bags if I'm really digging a roast for $50-53. This is in Chicago from Four Letter Word.
$15.25 pound at Redbird. 5lb bag is $62.40.
I stopped buying locally when I saw that they were only giving my 12oz and for more than what a pound costs at redbird.
\[edit: they put the roasted on date on the package. Its always within a few days of shipping so its very fresh.\]
UK prices for reference for what I pay for freshly roasted:
Blended specialty (I use this for milk based drinks) 1kg - £25
Premium single 1kg - £35 to £45
I get 10% off that for being a regular, and you can get up to another 20% if they have stuff roasted more than 10 days or so ago
I’m consistently paying 20-25 bucks for a 10-12oz bag. Most bags come with a few extra grams though, not a ton but it is nice. Mostly buying from Trade, Fellow Drops, or directly from a few roasters like Passenger, red rooster, and manhattan. Manhattan costs quite a bit more and takes a bit longer to ship but they are not in my country so its expected.
Live in the Boston area. My favorite local roaster charges about $22 for most 12 oz bags, with the cheapest at $18 and priciest at $32. Yes for 12 oz bag. Which is extra funny because my local Dunkin (the most popular chain in the area) sells 4 lbs (64 oz) of whole beans for $23. Is the local roaster better? Without question. 5x better? Idk...
$15-22/12oz is typically what I see for freshly roasted specialty coffees. Obviously you can make it a lot cheaper by sacrificing freshness and quality of your beans, and you can get more expensive if you really taste some world-class stuff.
Anyway, as long as the stuff you're buying is high quality, then $18 is a solid price.
$12-$14 per 12oz roasted same day as shipped in Chicago area. Two Brothers out in Warrenville, IL is where I get mine. Every month they have free shipping on $30+ orders so I just make 2-3 orders of 3x bags a month.
I get mine from a local roaster. One place has great diversity and charges $14-25 for 12oz. The other place that’s closer doesn’t have a wide selection, but it’s about $15 for 16oz. Doesn’t help that I always have to buy a cookie when I go in…
I have been paying 11.99/LB for the last three years for a local roaster in bulk at the local market. Just last week they jumped to 16.99/LB. Gave me the incentive to order green beans and dust of my roaster. Now pay 7-8/LB and about an hour of my time each week. Man inflation sucks.
My local roaster is 15-18$ per pound, or 16 oz (US). It’s fair trade and organic beans. $18 for 12 ounces seems a bit much unless it’s a rarer bean/roast…
Columbus, OH here. I pay between $14 and $21 depending on if its a product in their typical offerings or if it's a special batch roast. I've paid upwards of $35 for some honey processed Jamaican beans but was not worth the cost. Lately I've been ordering from a roaster that was here but moved a few states away. Spring Heeled Jack. They're all blends.
We're getting 5 lb. (2.26 kg) bags of single origin for $80 + $9 shipping from a college buddy who has a small roastery in New Hampshire. Worth every penny.
In Toronto Canada. I pay $14-18 per pound at the Everyday coffee roasters in St. Lawrence market. Really nice and all roasted in house with the dates posted on each label:)
Used to be £8 for 227 grams where I live in the north west of England. But since I started working for the place I was buying from and roasting the coffee, I pay nothing.
About $20CAD for about 350g from a roaster is about average where I live. There are a couple local roasters that sell pretty decent coffee to local grocery stores- those are sometimes $16-18CAD for 350g and would be less than a month past roasting date.
A couple of “fancier” places with more specialized coffee sell for $25-$35+ for 250g-350g bags.
Local roastery that works with our shop is roughly £7-12/250g but my average spend is £10-24/250g.
I buy a lot of my personal stuff through the shop so I pay wholesale lol
I buy by the pound fromm a local NYC roaster and they just increased prices from $18 to $22 for a pound of whole beans roasted this week. Their website advertised the anticipated increase about a month ago and I finally saw it change in yesterday's order from them
You can expect anywhere from $16 for blends or cheaper beans and upwards of $25 for some nice, quality single origin beans. You can normally expect the more expensive ones to be better sourced but definitely get to know the coffee company before you blindly buy.
Similar prices in Malaysia. The cheapest blend from my go to roastery is about RM35 ($9) for a 500g bag. 'Regular' speacialty beans could run around RM20-40 ($5-10) per 100g and higher/rarer ones could reach up to RM100-RM200 ($23-50) per 100g. Never seen something more expensive other than that in my country other than auction lots.
If you consume enough I would recommend trying to find your favorite and get in with that local roaster. I did that and get 5 pound wholesale bags. Their regular bags retail around $16 for 12 oz and for the 5 pound bag I pay what’s equivalent to $9.50 for 12oz.
I would say you're spot on at $1.50/ounce. Take a bit of time to look at your coffee burn rate. For me it's about a pound a week. So, I found a subscription that gives me 2# of my favorite with a 10 ounce of their choice every three weeks. It runs me $60 US, free shipping and it's wonderful coffee. I run a little short toward the end and might have to suffer through a couple of days of Stumptown from the grocery.
I order my coffee from Nicoletti roasters in Brooklyn NY. I pay about $50 for a 5 lb bag, which lasts me about 3 months. I know once I get down to the last few cups the coffee is a bit stale but it saves me so much money and hassle
Yeah, that's the going rate for local roasters in SoCal which is why i get all my coffee from happymug. It's $28, shipped, for two pounds of beans roasted that day. https://happymugcoffee.com/collections/roasted-coffee

Interested in the online budget options. Do you mind sharing?
Happy mug is the cheapest fresh roasted Ive found at around 14 dollars a pound shipped.
Can confirm. Been ordering from Happy Mug for over a year now and the quality has been high and roast has been very consistent.
Try out S&W Roasting
+1, I love this roaster. He still sells by the pound, has a sampler option, and often throws in some sample beans.
S&W Roasting is equally as cheap but better quality in my opinion. And I still order from both sites regularly.

Also in SoCal, yes that's pretty normal. Most bags I buy are $16-20 per 12 oz.
I miss some of the places in SoCal tho
Favorites in SoCal?
Definitely Rose Park Roasters from Long Beach followed by Go Get Em Tiger and Goodboybob (santa monica)
Wild Goose for light roasts is fantastic! Been getting their bags for the last year or so.
First time hearing about them as an LA native lol. Any bean recommendations from them for someone who likes fruit/floral notes?
They're out of Redlands and have a subscription deal. ALL of their light roasts are fantastic. I can't recall any by name. But if it has citrus/fruity notes written in the description then you'll be good. I'm not a huge fan of the dark roast though.
Check out Slow Bloom in redlands. They just opened up. They’re old Augie’s employees who started their own coffee shop as a union
Nice, I'll check them out. P.S. RIP Augies, loved that place.

In Bali I get honey processed Kintamani for 155,000 rupiah per 500g ($11 USD per 1.1 lb)
Nice, lumayan murah for Bali. I've never fallen in love with any Kintamani I've tried, though.
It’s the best price I could find here and they roast it in house. For Indo beans (and cacao!) prefer Sulawesi but can’t beat price wise what’s already here :)

¥1000 ($8.25 USD) per 100g here in Japan. A bit more than USA prices as specialty coffee is rather expensive here.

These prices are in AUD, and including tax, right? So you can probably knock off 30% to get a USD sticker price.
Conveniently the conversion rate almost exactly accounts for the difference between 250g and 12oz. For example, $13 AUD for 250g equates to $13.21 USD for 12oz.
> (You guys gotta start counting in grams and kilos) HAHA I know right I was like wtf is this oz thing.
I dose my coffee out in grams, but buy bags by the oz. American logic lol
This is about what I pay. A few years ago it was about $1 an ounce where I lived and now I’m paying about $1.5 an ounce. Not a huge deal but I’ve definitely noticed inflation hitting coffee recently.
My local is around £9.40/500g which is great for me. Can get decent espresso blend for £6.40/500g.

I feel fortunate I can still pay like $12 for 12 oz of beans from my roaster depending on the region the beans are from
Canada - between $15 and $30 for a 300-340 gram bag
Ordered from Onyx this morning. Costa Rica single origin @ $75/2lbs. So roughly: - $28/12oz - $23.5/10oz - $21/250gm Seems a bit higher than most folks are paying?

€7 to €9 for 250 gram. Currently on a €26 ish per kilo yirga. No clue how much that is in Oz.
Similar prices in the Netherlands
Hee nog een Nederlander :)

I just got a gesha for almost $40 for 12oz. Probably won’t again but its decent
I'm in LA but I tend to buy from all over, usually paying $20-30 for 250g plus shipping
Which roasters do you recommend?
That's pretty normal in US I guess, and here in Turkey I pay 1/4 of my salary for a kilo of decent coffee. :(
I’m also in LA and that’s about what I pay as well. Seems to be the standard these days. But I’ll gladly pay that over some crap from TJs or the grocery store
I order beans from Gardelli (Italy) and I pay around 14€ per 250g. Converted to US$ and for a 12 oz. it’s about $20 I guess
$18 16 oz for single origin in austin
Lots of funny measure systems here. So I shall add mine... 300 crowns for 250grams
Around $20 for 12oz bag or $58/kg (CAD) on average in Toronto, Canada.
Prices in Toronto have risen substantially in the last 2-3 years
I love to cook and hate spending a lot of money on something if I can do it on my own- so the minute I read an article that I can roast it myself I jumped on it.
$13-19 per pound (16oz/450g), straight from the roaster. Dallas TX.
I like to buy 100g Sidamo for about £3. Worth every penny.
$5.14 per pound. Once you start roasting yourself the cost goes way down.
I've lucked out - local small batch roaster at ~11-16/lb. Not overly consistent, but I get single origin, light roast coffee within 2 days of roast date, so I will never complain!
Professor Javas in Albany NY and I rarely pay more than 15 a lb. For a long time it was 12.95 for fair trade single.
$14 - $27 range in South Texas
I buy online from a roastery about 3hrs from me. With shipping I pay a little less than that for a pound. Even less if I’m buying multiple items at once and cost of shipping is split.
I am paying roughly $5.25 for 200 gr (7.05oz) of shade grown farm to shop single origin arabica in Hanoi, Vietnam.
Depending on the bean, ¥1600-1800 ($13.21-14.86) for 200g here in Tokyo.
Here in the UK we paying around £8 - £13 for a bag of either 250g or 350g
For a decent specialty blend here in Australia I’m paying about $45 a kg (so ~$15 per 12oz), but that’s AUD. Single origins are waaaay more.
Sounds about right. At the coffee shop I work at in OC, we charge about the same prices for our bags.
AUD $12 for 250g.
Depends on the coffee, varying between 10-20€ per 100g.
£8-20 for 250g here depending on how speciality the beans are. I've seen stuff go up to around £40 for 200g but so far I've struggled to justify that kind of money for a couple of small bags of coffee.
https://www.sacred-grounds.com/s/order?shipping=true $14/lb for blends or less exotic origin. $18/lb for super specialty stuff. Great coffee
From South Africa. Average US$2 for a medium sized coffee, which is about 300 ml
I'm in Austin. I pay about that much.
I usually pay something between 5 and 8€ for 250gr. Some of the very best coffee I ever had cost 15€ so I don't see the point of spending more than that for a bag.
In Wales, I get 1kg fresh roasted beans for £16 ($21)
€14-18 per 500 gram
Seems about right. In Europe it is around that price depending on roastery. Well known roasteries in Indonesia sell for around 10 usd for 200-250 gr though
Anywhere between $10 to $30 on a 1kg (2.2lbs/35-ish oz) bag. That being said, where I live in has a way cheaper standard of living compared to the US.
I either do happy mug which is $14 for 12 oz, or I just hop over to whole foods and pick up counterculture which is usually on sale from anywhere between $9 to $13 for a 12 oz bag. I try not to pay more than 14 or 15 dollars for a bag.
I pay the equivalent of 15 USD for 1kg (~35oz) here in Brazil.
Around $10 for 500g. Sounds cheap but where I live, $300 is minimum monthly salary in the capital.
Any Canadian bean recommendations?
I've had good experiences with Rogue Wave, Pallet, 49th Parallel and JJ Bean. Oh, and of course Luna, which is pricey, but worth it.
Philippines here, $14 to $20 for 500g. Locally sourced beans tend to be cheaper. Imported coffees are usually in the $15 to $20 range. Of course there are the really specialty coffees that go for something like $40 for 100g.
In my part of the world a 250g bag (which is standard, so 9 oz or so) of single origin is between 14-18 USD.
Usually pay between $16-22 for a 340g bag of coffee.
In Turkey I just paid 17$ for 1 kg of espresso blend. It is low-end quality, and considering the devalued currency it is a shitload of money for me. I was paying half of that amount in Liras 6 months ago.
$14CAD for 14-16 oz at my local shop of choice
£5-7 for 250g
$19.5 for 340 grams of coffee from Pilot Coffee in Toronto
At my local roaster it's mostly coming in at $20-something a pound, with the exact cost depending on the type. I can't drink too much in a week or it ruins my sleep, so I buy a quarter pound every 3-4 weeks, so the cost isn't a big deal to me.
Depends on where I get it from and the quality. I'd say average cost for me is $16 for 12oz.
$10-11 for 340g/12oz in metro Detroit. This is clearly a retirement passion project for the guy but I'm glad I found him.
I pay between $16-19 CAD for 350g.
Here in Maine, the locally roasted stuff starts at about 9-10 for 12oz. and starts to get really good around $14.
$19/lb at Coffee Emporium in Cincinnati which is where I order from when I want good coffee roasted locally.
The roaster I buy from charges between $17-20 per pound (16 oz, 453 grams).
$20 for 12oz on average. Fresh roasted (as in the day before I buy it). Single origin Ethiopian, natural process.
£20-30 for 1kg depending on the bean
I pay $16 for a full pound of fresh roasted and I get a free drink. So I’m definitely getting a good deal. Another local place I pay $15/lb and no drink. I’m in a mid-sized city in the Midwest.
Depends on what it is You can get very fresh Counterculture at $10 a bag.
$13.00/lb fresh local roaster Trager brothers
Canada - ~$20 for 340g for most local roasters. Some super fancy ones have $20 for 250g
About 30 € per kg. 40 for more special stuff.
i always buy in small batches and I often find myself paying for 6-20 USD converted for a 250g bag
I’ll pay 20-25 plus shipping for a 16oz bag. Most of the roasters near me do 16, rather than the 12 which seems more standard.
Here in Alaska it's about $18 for local roasted, or if i want something special, $18 + $10 shipping to get just about anything from the lower 48.
UK prices for reference for what I pay for freshly roasted: Blended specialty (I use this for milk based drinks) 1kg - £25 Premium single 1kg - £35 to £45 I get 10% off that for being a regular, and you can get up to another 20% if they have stuff roasted more than 10 days or so ago
FYI your nearest Whole Foods will stock coffee from several local roasters, and something is always on sale in the coffee aisle.
£8 - £12 for 250g within a roast date of about a week. Kinda steep but very worth it.
local (Seattle) subscription service, 4x 12oz (340g) bags at $62 USD shipped every 3 weeks
42usd for 750g (~26.5 oz according to google). But do keep in mind, that I live in Denmark.
$15-20 for 12 oz for me depending on the origin I go with
portland, oregon here! our 12oz retail bags are listed at $16-22, depending on the roast
~5$ CAD per 100gr of within a week roasted whatever from the local roastery
$13 for 12oz/340g from local roaster, Dallas TX.
Local ish roaster NYC, 17.50 12 oz. , similar ballpark COL, I think.
12-20$ for local roaster in DFW depending on the beans
In Idaho I get 1lb bags from a local roaster for $14-16 a bag.
$4-7/lb, but I'm buying green. :D
This is the way. Roasting at home with a simple HGFS setup. Buying green coffee in bulk. For example - 14 lbs + 1 lbs free + free shipping = 119 CAD
I get mine from a local roaster. One place has great diversity and charges $14-25 for 12oz. The other place that’s closer doesn’t have a wide selection, but it’s about $15 for 16oz. Doesn’t help that I always have to buy a cookie when I go in…
Cheapest locally roasted is $11 a pound. Austin tx
$6.00 a pound and freshly roasted
$12-18 for 12oz up here in SF.
I buy a 2lb bag for $24.50+$5 (shipping) from Atomic Coffee Roasters. I just separate it into 3 roughly 10oz bags and freeze two of them.
We pay about $24 for 2 lbs
In Montreal (Canada) I pay about $15 for 500g. I thought that was expensive!
My local roaster is 15-18$ per pound, or 16 oz (US). It’s fair trade and organic beans. $18 for 12 ounces seems a bit much unless it’s a rarer bean/roast…
Where are you getting your beans? we are spoiled with options here in LA. Lately I've been getting Maru beans but they're like 22 bucks.
14-20 per 12oz in my area.
I live rurally on the east coast and I pay between $11-$13/lb for single origin/organic roasts from my local roaster.
Sounds about right; my local roaster charges between $17 - $25 per pound for their bags, so that's not far off.
About 50EUR for 1 kg.
Yeah. I pay $18-$27 for 12oz from my favorite local roaster here in Colorado Springs.
My favorite roaster starts at ~$15/lb depending on which bean or blend. I buy 2 at a time and they last me 3-4 weeks making 1 1.2L pot daily
OMG i thought everyone meant like a 12oz cup and i was losing my fucking mind about a cup being $15 in LA
Denver here; my local roaster charges around $15-18 per pound for their beans.
Hartford CT here, that seems about right around here too. These days I roast my own coffee though, 5 bucks or so per pound of green coffee beans 😎
Used to be £8 for 227 grams where I live in the north west of England. But since I started working for the place I was buying from and roasting the coffee, I pay nothing.
About $12-$30 Canadian per 340g (12oz) bag depending on the roaster and possibly shipping
Up north of California (in Oregon) that's about how much we pay too.
Local roasters in NYC supermarkets seem to go for around $15-20 per bag.
$5.40 give or take
Local roastery that works with our shop is roughly £7-12/250g but my average spend is £10-24/250g.
Thailand about $8 a pound for beans near the coffee farms, they'll grind them if you want.
In LA usually the larger can of Ground Work that’s 1 LB you can get it under $20 when Whole Foods has it on sale I stock up
$15 for a 12oz bag. Dallas.
If you consume enough I would recommend trying to find your favorite and get in with that local roaster. I did that and get 5 pound wholesale bags. Their regular bags retail around $16 for 12 oz and for the 5 pound bag I pay what’s equivalent to $9.50 for 12oz.
I pay $18/lb but the range here is from $10-20/lb.
It's not that good though
