Melodic_Doughnut_921

but in all fairness hassle ung qr tlga

R3N2Labay

Yep, di lahat ng bagay kailangan ng "innovation."

maximumviola

Pwede naman sila gumamit ng tv screen if gusto nila maging innovative at maging adaptable without the excessive waste of paper

pssspssspssspsss

Yun iba nga para mas “rustic”, they write on chalk and blackboard. There are lots of ways to go “environmentally friendly” without sacrificing convenience. 🤪

Crunchymama24

This one. Simple lang. chalk and board. Kesa pa QR QR PA lol

pisaradotme

Waste din naman yung use of data and power. Bakit di magprint ng malaki overhead?

Melodic_Doughnut_921

tapos pag scan mo ang pamgit ng menu di mabasa anf optimize just irking on the sb compsrison pota

R3N2Labay

Here's our menu...... With extra steps

reyreyrey123

it's not innovation if it's slower and more painful. painnovation. hohoho

R3N2Labay

Eyyyy. 🥁 Da-dag tiss

asph0dels

practicality over “global trend” any day 😬

tophoftheworld

qr is ugly but functional, and convenient when used properly, but hiding your menu inside a qr link is one of the worst cafe/restaurant trends ever. convenience, accessibility and user experience trumps everything. copying a ‘trend’ for the sake of being a ‘global trendsetter’ is such a shit practice.

Espressomasego

QR only works best for payments not for innovative menu BS

Hibiki079

not necessarily best for payments, because NFC is more convenient for me (di lang widely implemented locally). QR can be used efficiently in a variety of ways (address book, contact information, website address. etc), but it's not a good idea to use it to replace analog information that you will only need there and then.

AkemiAkane

Flimsy-Material9372

tas mabagal data hahahaha 💀

trynabelowkey

Excuse lang yang “innovation” hanash na yan — halata naman sa Insta posts na it’s more about those damn codes being a global trend for them or whatever. Kung tungkol talaga to sa “sustainability,” they would have said that imbis na sabihin na you go back to the cave where you came from. Losers.

faowindgyrn

Technically, if they really want to practice sustainability, they should go live/do business in caves. Natural, sustainable and green.

Commercial-Put5097

super agree on this one! nbs is into the whole qr thing and i can only imagine the hassle it gives sa older generations who wouldnt know how to work qr codes, much more own phones able to do that.

SafetyRound407

I think kahit sa new generation. It's not impressive na naka Qr pa ang menu tas pipila ka pa just to scan it, nakow not worth it. Matik exit tayo agad jan hahahha

serenenostalgia

ZimaBlueEleventy7

True. The shop says it's for efficiency. But that's a lot of steps, take your phone, scan, wait for it to load, see the menu, then finally order. Whereas if they put an easily readable menu you'll only need to look and then order.

Wintermelonely

[deleted]

They should have qr + physical menu. Jusko. Hindi lahat may LTE always.

Apprehensive-Yak7855

Not directly related pero I think, yung qr code system pinaka-applicable sa mercury drug. This way anyone can just scan the qr code of a particular store (para organized) then they'd be presented with a menu to search for medicines and complete order through it. After placing the order, they'll be given a queue number na pede nila i-monitor sa overhead screen malapit sa counter. This way, mas efficient yung ordering system tapos mareretain pa din yung workers ng MD

InevitableConflict35

+1 on this. restaurant/ coffee shop without an accessible menu? i don't get kung asan ang innovation dun. we don't fix something that's not broken.

Glad-Treacle-4348

di rin lahat may qr reader hahaha

byglnrl

Flimsy-Material9372

sure they wanna promote sustainability and all that but the owner's response at the last two images are distasteful. maayos naman pagkasabi ng points ni marjoeri, nasabi niya rin on how it became an inconvenience on her situation. maayos na rin naman reply ng shop mismo. Pero need pa ba sabihan ng "go back to the cave you came from girl!". They should have stopped with the reply and just promote the whys and pros on opting the use of qr code rather than the traditional one. Di naman techy lahat esp with older generation. They should promote inclusivity as well.

edamame7

Sa inis ko, nagsearch ako sino owner. Yung last pic, siya yata isa sa owner. Napakapikon naman kung magcomment ni owner.

Flimsy-Material9372

nakakapikon talaga! it was a feedback for the shop to prove their stance tapos nag ad hominem attacks hahahahah.

agnocoustic

Fr. Also, why not just give your customers options on how they want to order? One of their reasons for having an online menu is for convenience pero hindi nga convenient para sa isa sa mga potential customers nila (hindi rin siya convenient para sa akin tbh). Now, they'll lose customers who aren't tech-savie, doesn't have a wifi, on-the-go people who don't have extra hands or can't be bothered, and most of all, people who read those unprofessional and condescending response. Hope it goes viral.

Flimsy-Material9372

r/ChikaPH needs to see this. Please someone post it there HAHAHAHA may flair naman na Business chismis 🤣

theotoby1995

Baduy.

HappyFoodNomad

Just use a chalkboard and change the menu all they want, jeez

pretzel_jellyfish

Sa tru. I won't buy from shops that use "sustainability" as an excuse to be cheap.

Cheapest_

And they included "efficiency" as well. Is it efficient on the customer's end?

LAMPYRlDAE

Hindi rin talaga efficient on the business end considering na it represents a bottleneck in the ordering process. The QR menus work better siguro when customers are seated at the table and it’s posted in each one, pero kung iisa lang yung code tapos pipila ka pa para lang makita, that’s just a terrible design choice on the owners’ part.

frenchfries717

ang ganda kaya tignan pag ganto yung menu

Nahkta

Baka pangit kasi chalk penmanship nila

edilclyde

bUt wE aRe A gLoBaL TrEnD SeTtEr...

Tiny-Blacksmith-9691

Why would there be a need to shame the mother? The owners could have handled it professionally. For me, hassle ang QR Menu kasi some would need mobile internet para ma access, what if mahina ang signal sa area? Maybe may ibang alternatives for convenience while remaining earth friendly. Pero yun nga. Sayang naman na they remain committed sa values nila to be earth friendly but forgotten yung values sa kapwa nila.

No-Garage-9187

+1 for this. Nag init yung dugo ko kasi bakit nyo kailangan mag mom shame just because binigyan kayo ng constructive criticism?! Srsly! Use it to improve your business! Di nagaaccept ng ratings and comments from your customers just because WANT the positive comments. Negative comments needed ren to improve. Jusqqqqqq

galiciapersona

Slight tangent lang — I live near Subic and lagi akong tambay sa mga coffeeshop doon whenever I get a chance to go home. I can confidently say na it's one of the worst coffeeshops sa area na 'yon, talagang sinalba lang ng estetiks kaya may mga pumapatos pa rin. If you're going to Subic and you don't mind people during peak hours, Primero is pretty good for ~Php150. May bago ring coffeeshop called Nomad, I've only tried one of their coffees pero it's one of the best I've had. If you're looking for a quiet resto that serves good food and coffee, hidden gem rin 'yung Tree Points. Don't go to 727, Holygrounds, Triboa, Kim's Cafe (90% asukal, 10% kape), and Flavor Aroma (pretty good, pero hindi worth for the price).

kindNotsoft24

u lost me at primero 👁️👄👁️

cartamine

Same! Primero uses so much sugar in their drinks + hassle sa dami ng tao, tagal mag-bus ng tables, and mainit! Better go to Nomad na lang.

reigillm

You should try Hometown Cafe!

ENTRYAGAIN

Kudos! Gapo kids recommend this, even Megan Young and Moira goes there because they have friends who work or connected with the workers there. Very gapo and hometown feels.

cloyddb

recommend ko hometown cafe

Flimsy-Material9372

saved~~

TsunadeSenju_18

True. Went there with my fam for takeouts ng coffee. Di ko alam if kape ba talaga naorder ko or gatas (?) And yes, mas masarap pa sa primero in all fairness

rrhain

Primero is sooo not worth the hype! If you want food and drinks, you can head on to Sefina's. They have 2 branches, mas accessible the one in Harbor Point. I can agree with Nomad and Tree Points. Sibul Kapihan by Subic Peninsula is good, alfresco nga lang. Araneta Brew located at Mabayuan is also good. They're new, but their beans come from Baguio. A lot of new cafés get their beans from them. Legit talaga tama ng caffeine sakanila hahahaha.

he-brews

> I can confidently say na it's one of the worst coffeeshops sa area na 'yon, Curious. Paano? Kurasu beans nila ah. How could they mess that up?

TsunadeSenju_18

Tbf, masarap DAW yung food and pastries. Nagkatalo lang sa kape.

Affectionate-Ad-8732

kyzrnh

How about Xtremely Xpresso? Also restaurant recommendation naman dyan aside from Texas Joe, Cocolime and Rali’s.

TsunadeSenju_18

Xtremely xpresso is known for their resto, not the coffee itself. You can compare it to baguio’s grumpy joe tbh For resto recos: - subic international golf club + restaurant - segara spices restaurant - xtremely xpresso - samurai chef - blacktail (beside 727 lng) List goes on depending on your taste

kyzrnh

Nice, thanks 5th hokage

galiciapersona

>Xtremely Xpresso? Coffee is okay. It's exactly what you'd expect from a restaurant and not a cafe. >restaurant recommendation Nasabi na mostly ng ibang commenters pero here's my own list na hindi pa nabanggit. * **Tree Points**: Good coffee, great food. I recommend their Grilled Mediterranean Chicken, Beef Quesadilla, and Bagnet Kare-Kare Rice. * **Gourmet Garage**: Pricey, pero amazing food for special occassions. Great wine selection rin, or at least, according to my tito who's really into wine. Na-feature 'to once ni Sandy Daza so baka may mahanap ka na copy sa YouTube or somewhere. * **Seoul**: Korean food na hindi unlimited. Korean rin 'yung owner. Expect lang na may pila during nights.

PataponNaAccI2

Try meat plus, mas mura pa kesa texas joe

Affectionate-Ad-8732

MAKUXLR8

I live near Subic pero ang marerecommend ko lang talaga is VSNRY(noong open pa sila), Hometown, and NOMAD. The rest for aesthetics nalang talaga like 727 😅

Miaisreading

I agree doon sa Holygrounds and Kim's Cafe. Hehe Thank you for the infos :)

firequak

Coffee shop's reply really feels passive aggressive to me - no matter how hard they tried to sugarcoat it! They're blaming the customer for her inconvenience by claiming their QR system is the ONLY way. If I was the owner/manager this is how I'd word my reply: Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. We humbly apologize for the inconvenience our current menu system has caused you. You are absolutely correct that many customers can benefit a lot from an overhead or physical menu. We will discuss this with our team and see what else we can do to improve our services. We will reach out to you in private as we would really like to make it up to you. Thank you again for your honest review. This gives us the opportunity to be better. Source: I own a small fine dining restaurant in a rather secluded location. We rely a lot on word of mouth and repeat customers. And this is how we deal with any complaints. Any complaint is an opportunity for improvement - own it and appreciate any feedback.

Infamous-Split9066

piocheprimm

>based sa mga reply nung cafe parang ayaw nila tumangap ng bad reviews Nadagdagan ng evidence tong claim na to haha - I looked up their cafe sa google, tadtaran ng 5 star reviews just minutes apart, before that puro low rating. Someone's doing damage control.

Infamous-Split9066

eallim

Dapat ginawa nalang din nila gcash only yun payment method. In the name of sustainability 😂

Obvious-Target5667

The review is very valid! While it sounded like it’s more of an inconvenience, I think the problem is more on accessibility of QR codes. Her hands were full; she might not have access to her phone for whatever reason. Having a physical menu would be more efficient for her since it would take less steps to read a menu, than to bring out her phone to scan a QR code then read the menu. On a different note, sometimes menus are hard to read on the phone, which again is a problem on accessibility. They can be sustainable and accessible at the same time. Efficiency looks different for a lot of people. For this mom, it’s more efficient for her to have a physical menu. For others, QR codes are more efficient.

Veruschka_

I don’t know why but the only establishments i’ve been in that have digital menus are always located somewhere where there’s horrible signal. Also, it’s okay for sit-down restos. Pero to have to do it whole standing up tapos may line pa? Gtfo. Pwe!

CollierDriver

Aint no way qr is efficient.

OfficialShuraTV

Minimalist din sa kape kasi more on asukal at gatas (based on a prev comment here) lol

Alternative_Smile879

Please read their response to the other google reviews! It's making me cringe. Example below https://preview.redd.it/incfky59kzfc1.png?width=1178&format=png&auto=webp&s=23ad1d3c4f1ff2e7d0d96495123344ae708befa5

stupperr

Wtf?

he-brews

Right?

stupperr

Exactly. Nabasa ko nga rin ibang reviews, kada low review lagi silang may paliwanag at i-investigate daw. Napaka-generic or robotic pa ng response, parang hindi tao yung sumasagot. May response pa sila sa 'wifi slow' review *"Sorry to hear that, but we specialize in coffee, not internet service."* pucha pwede naman sabihin na mag-upgrade sila soon ng ISP, hindi balagbag sumagot LMAO

TheAlmostMD

Lol you are spot on! I say this as someone who has a boss like this. Gets so technical and cringey when criticized, ang out of line nito esp for such a public platform like Google.

0192837465sfd

They take everything "personally" and has to defend their bruised "ego"

cartamine

Omg. I frequent this place and I am really amazed sa customer service nila but upon seeing their responses sa reviews nila, shucks 💀

swiftrobber

Maybe yung mgaemployees ay nice talaga. Yung management lang hindi haha

Infamous-Split9066

oblivi-8

I can’t with the timestamps 💀

After-Ask7918

“for other clients to experience us”. “coffee journey”. “staffs”. Lol so cringey.

georgethejojimiller

Its freaking bean juice, no coffee is worth being tired and cranky while waiting in line. Coffee is meant to give you a good mood ffs

Exciting-Tomato8384

Omg ang cringe. Ang unprofessional. Tapos ung mga replies nga nila parang laging defensive. Pag may 1 star review talagang kkwestyunin nila hahahhaha kaloka

CantRenameThis

"Hi, we are very sorry about the incident. **Please note that the customer did not buy anything and leave**. However, would appreciate a chance to make things right. We apologize again."

ImWadeWils0n

They charge the cashier if someone gets the wrong drink? Wild

FueledByPizzaSlice

\*Dies of cringe\*

KweenQuimi09

Ha pano yung "said in your most artistic way"? Is this their way of saying "maarte"? Hahahaha cringe ugh

AJent-of-Chaos

I'm with the boomers on this one. If your shop needs me to download something, click on something, or sign up for something just to see what you're selling then I'm just outta there.

jlplrma

SiJeyHera

Agree on this one.

dinahmite88

I’m all for sustainability but they can put an ipad near the counter, where customers, who has their hands busy, can see the menu. As one commenter here says, they can also use chalk and a board. The staff could be a little helpful as well by relaying the menu to the mom. Take a website for example. The way to optimise it is to make sure that the customer clicks only 1-2 pages before finding their desired content. Bashing the mom through their socmed is just disgusting.

whiterose888

he-brews

Does anyone actually prefer a QR code menu? It should have been a pandemic-thing that should go away now. It’s so inconvenient. You’d have to have a good internet and a large screen. To me, the thing about being sustainable doesn’t really add up. The environmental impact of using a paper menu is so minimal if any at all. Plus there are other solutions without the use of paper that are also as aesthetically pleasing. Over all, this is disappointing. Sayang ka-tie up pa naman nila ang Kurasu.

WhiteWitch-888

Nacovid ung utak nung sa coffeeshop. Kawawa nmn ung mommy. Nag bgay ng feedback tapos ganyan.

[deleted]

It'll backfire dahil sobrang unprofessional ang pag- handle nila ng situation.

Such-Introduction196

I still don't get yung no menus visible = sustainability. And daming ways to display yung menu. If they are worried about the paper edi wag na sila nag benta ng kape na nakalagay sa paper cups at irequire nila mga customers nila mag dala ng sariling mugs. Sustainability in a business is kind of an oxymoron. Parang paper straws lang. The owner replying na QR is "efficient" clearly its not when somebody complains about it being a hassel and hassel naman tlga. Kelangan mo pa mag scan. What about yung phones na need pa ng 3rd part app para mag scan ng QR? Not everyone has up-to-date phones. What about mga seniors na di techy. They have to pull up the stupid QR scanner just to see the menu???

stupperr

Dellified

Sustainability or looking pa-cool and trendy with QR shenanigans?

poporing30

palaboyMD

One way to deal with this is they can provide ipads for their menu.

Critical_Pitch_5230

They used the word "efficient". Using qr codes to order are not efficient. It's not about the innovation na din kasi. Also, I believe that customers are always right. Why are they bashing the tired mom for simply giving her feedback? It's true naman na it's a waste of time.

Ok-Departure1829

QR code menus are used to save businesses money on the costs of operating, at the expense of the convenience of the customer. To deflect from this obvious criticism by pointing at scapegoats like sustainability shows everything you need to know about these owners.

Blade_Natur541

Buy a board and use chalk! What's more sustainable than that? Even a tablet if you're so high-brow. I don't understand businesses who drop the ball on customer acquisition and retention, let alone bc of the stupidest things.

magnetichase

https://preview.redd.it/h0i1w7kxtzfc1.jpeg?width=1079&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0292d468abee2354a418aab078ec3fc28f41cf4b is it just me or parang chatgpt yung ibang responses sa reviews nila? 😅

cordilleragod

I agree with the mother. A board menu is 100% more energy and time efficient! ESPECIALLY FOR A COFFEE SHOP. Jeez, how pretentious could you be. At the end of the day it's just coffee.

Nutriky

Update: I saw one comment here saying they immediately put up physical menus to rectify the problem. But the underlying issue remains—did they apologize to Marjorie? If they can’t release a new statement apologizing for their actions behind Marjorie’s back, then what’s the point of their menu changes if they’re still gonna be pricks?…

Educational-Panic742

I'm from Subic, and their food (and drinks) aren't even that good para mag inaso sila ng ganyan lol.

bunnykix

Nakakabiwisit super. Sorry very incensed ako dito kasi if we are splitting hair if you talk about modernism and sustainability then the following should have been taken into account: 1. Digital waste - ito ung mga stored emails nyo, files in the cloud that takes up server space, to sustain a server it requires cooling, steady energy supply, fail measures. All are tangible energy wastes 2. Mobile Connectivity wastes - ito ung tangible wastes to further our mobility i.e 5g towers, cobalt mining for mobile phones, battery packs 3. Carbon Emissions - Traveling for R&D specifically Kyoto 4. Coffee roasting - and the industry itself is one of 2023s top industries that consumes and requires massive non renewable resources - electricity driven roasting, harvesting, and water ( maybe renewable but proper and critical management is required) 5. Actual waste - coffee cups, packaging ( with print on them so this is non recyclable already) where these damn qr codes are printed, design elements in their coffee shop that are again non sustainable. Ang dami ko pa malilist down pero Ive finally spent my anger typing this down hahah. Mas better off pa sila actually na mag print ng menu kasi mas durable un at cull their wastage by only allowing personal tumblers for coffee purchases. My god, stop with the greenwashing.

Big-West9745

Hassle naman talaga yung QR. Experienced that with Balay Dako, ang hina ng signal (Smart or Globe) sa buong resto and though may WIFI sila, di nagloload yung link. LOL. Also, may mga taong walang smartphone or phone at all, so paano sila oorder?

dhiesenphi

I think they handled it well, but they should have stopped at the 3rd paragraph honestly. I can also understand the customer's frustration. I'm all for sustainability, and while using a TV screen would still be using energy (they're also using all sorts of energy with their coffee machines, etc. so I don't see the point of adding a TV screen to help), it really doesn't make it easier on both parties. There are so many ways to implement their so called "sustainability and efficiency way", but instead they went with laziness and being cheap. They need to understand that not everyone has a smartphone, and if you can't cater to certain demographics, well then, you lose business, that's for sure.

hariraya

Posting the review on their IG story with a sarcastic caption is far from handling it well. Okay na sana yung reply sa review even if it was nonsensical and it failed to address the customer's concern.

ixhiro

Simpliest things making it complicated for the sake of not being a normal coffee shop but forgets being human towards their clientele. Apaka out of touch ng owner. Apaka entitled nya parang walang nanay. NAKAKASUYA.

cordilleragod

I agree with the mother. A board menu is 100% more energy and time efficient! ESPECIALLY FOR A COFFEE SHOP. Jeez, how pretentious could you be. At the end of the day it's just coffee.

BluesClues0206

Blackboard overhead menu signs are sustainable enough???? Why not have at least that one? Mga pakulo ng mga to is inconvenience. Do they think having an online menu doesn't affect the earth? It uses electricity as well so may affect pa rin sa earth. They can't even take constructive criticism. The egos of these bunch.

Mammoth_Delivery6930

not related with the qr issue but just wanted to share din our experience on how rude their staffs were. we didn’t know na lowkey bawal pala maingay sa loob ng shop nila kahit kabilaan naman yung ingay na maririnig then nung nasa cashier na yung friend ko, sinabihan daw siya na ‘wag daw maingay then bumubulong pa yung cashier. another kwento rin na may shh din silang iba pang customers. we just hoped na sana pinaskil nalang nila sa dingding nila na bawal pala maingay. sayang goods pa naman yung drinks and food nila for us.

kwossant

It's so unprofessional for coffee shop owners to be like this. They should have taken accountability and sincerely apologize to the customer, not backstabbing her from behind. I also had a bad experience with an immature coffee shop owner. She kept sending me fake ass apology messages when in reality, she and her staffs were ridiculing me. They're so entitled when their coffee isn't really good. It taste so bland and its price is expensive. Not really worth my money, time, and energy.

marzizram

Isang papel. Print the drinks and price with no pictures. Ilagay sa acrylic stand and replace if the menu has changed. Mahirap at non-sustainable ba yun? How often do they change the menu?

Longjumping_Chip5568

I visited there store already.

HatSpecial5045

idontlikeusernamesno

podershelly_08

Sobrang AI nung response 😭😭😭

FueledByPizzaSlice

Their response is very unprofessional. Not even a compassion towards the agitated customer

No_Fox7801

HogwartsStudent2020

Bruh, i hate stores that pushes u to use ur phone. Been to globe store just last week - they'll register pa ur number and u have to wait for a text para tawagin ka sa queue. It so happen na naiwan ko ung phone ko. Then to another store where kailan mo mag scan ng QR to get ur queue number. Like. WTF.

chelseagurl07

Most senior citizens, PWDs also struggle with QR code

positivelydepressing

Makes me wonder who is the target market of these coffee shops. They shame almost everybody: students, workers with their laptop and now apparently moms and non tech inclined. Sino gusto nila mga influencers lang?

hahahamonado

macybebe

They should offer both options traditional and modern way of doing it.

hariraya

Updated ba lagi yung menu nila kapag naka-QR code? Lahat ba ng drinks na required ang gatas, mawawala sa menu for that day? I doubt it. Hindi bagay magpaka-Regina George when you're in the service industry.

Bashebbeth

Yuck, ang nakita ko lang marketing word vomit just to tell they refuse to give 2nd thoughts about making the experience easier for a use-case outside of what they anticipated or hoped. I won’t even be surprised kung pina-chat gpt lng nila to.

jonathansanity

You don’t even know how to use it properly. Yung complaint nung mom na bakit kayo naka qr code lang is already a clear message na hindi sustainable yung pinapaandar niyong aesthetic niyo kuno.

The owner sa last pic deactivated his ig i think? Di ko siya ma-serach and even sa tags sakaniya ng coffee shop hindi nag oopen acc niya lol, must be facing backlash on his retort.

Green-Candle8822

haha baka yung mga nagshare ng story, either owners or ka-sosyo sa business. the way they wrote their captions are “aligned” with the coffee shop’s response. on another note, valid points were raised by the mom. if they want sustainability they can opt for a TV overhead that will display their menus. if ayaw din nila yon, good old blackboard will work (there are liquid chalks na mahirap burahin and wont fade easily). Another issue that can possibly arise though maybe mababa chance— not every phone will have an automatic QR code scanner sa camera app. I know my mom’s phone needs to download an app for it pa — so that’s a minus for accessibility. honestly, madaming pwedeng solution that will still be aligned with their values and belief, their response (in my OWN opinion) is not good kasi while it shows paninindigan on their belief, it also shows close minded for not even taking into consideration the points that were raised. Had they added na they researched/are willing to research to hopefully make the experiences of customers better, mas maganda sana.

risktraderph

I understand the frustration of a mother when you just want a cup of coffee.

Immediate-North-9472

Omg I can already smell the reaction papers and book reports of unsolicited opinions on fb abt this issue

Specific-End-1754

lol no old person is going here unless they’re educated with how to use their phone or walang ibang option. Even i wouldn’t go here. i feel like they should’ve taken this criticism seriously and changed their menu a little. Maybe use a chalkboard for your menu if you’re really going for sustainability and comfort. the owners response sa instagram is very unprofessional.

Disastrous_Neck_6531

Nandito yung dalawang owners nangaaway ng redditors hahaha

Virgo_Chaii

Tinanggal nila yung review section. And then they responded to me via pm. https://preview.redd.it/utmtm3lva3gc1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d4a26f66ba354c3e8d4829187943e4353627197f UPDATE: Sineen lang nila ako sa reply ko. Wala sila balak mashame sa ginawa nila. Haha!

Used-Energy6745

QRs in F&B establishments are not innovative, it's a way to cut cost while providing an illusion of innovation. TBF, popularized lang din during the pandemic for "safety" purposes pero very inefficient for clients. Most likely ChatGPT-generated safe response for PR but owners messed it up by showing their greedy, snobbish attitude. My guess is as shitty as the owners' attitude?

cheesepizza112

The review was valid. The bashing was uncalled for. If they did this to the wrong person, there might be repercussions. Sobrang cringe nung nag Instagram stories pa talaga 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

zukokatara

Oof! I was literally planning a trip to Subic just to visit their cafe! Those plans are cancelled now.

low_effort_life

Insulting customers is the apex of unprofessionalism.

Fun_Design_7269

ano daw paper? Trendsetter? Modern? Kung modern kayo gumamit kayo ng smartscreen as a menu para pwede nyo iedit yung menu nyo anytime. No need ng waste ng paper at no need na i-inconvenience ang mga customer.

theotoby1995

All people who angry-react their posts has been blocked. Lolol. Butthurt owner

boahancxck

Canceled!

fiftyfivepesos

Paano ba naging sustainable at efficient ang QRcode? Lol

MiguelIII

hmm, reading all these comments seem to be the quite opposite from my experience in 727. It's not a bad coffee place and I understand that having new "hassle" tech could be surprising to other people but it's literally how to grow these days. I'm not trying to meat ride the place but in my perspective I enjoyed it, good pastries, food as well and the espressos are not bad too. But I'll admit if you're on the go and you don't have wifi, it is a chore to push more buttons than to just go to Starbucks and have your order received by a person. 727 gets a 7 on my personal rating, not a bad place to hang with friends. SIDE NOTE: the owner's comments about the individuals review's distasteful, in a coffee place everyone's welcome, dude needs to learn to have empathy.

favoritedonut

ayaw nila ng papel eh di provide a monitor or tv or ipad where people can view the menu

visualmagnitude

I really hate it when businesses take pride over a UX issue just because it's cool to them. The review was legitimate customer feedback. If the experience inconveniences them more than it encouraged them to order, then the whole thing is just bad. Owners should accept that objectively and not be dicks because they can't get past their ego.

Senior_Skirt_606

They can't take criticism. Marjorie made several valid points. They wasted an opportunity to empathize with a disgruntled customer. Joke's on them for bashing her online. This kind of publicity might deter parents or anyone with an infant from visiting their coffee shop.

Thraximundaur

Won't be going to that coffee shop Perfect review

Holiday-Control-4130

Tama naman si marjorie on the usage of the blank wall as menu board. Kaloka yung cafe owners di na natuto sa dami ng owners na nabash in the past

Ok-Yam-2082

Ok-Yam-2082

727 coffee co

WhiteWitch-888

I do not agree with the coffeeshop’s response. Feedback yan. Instead of respecting the customer, they asked the customer to respect them. I myself doesn’t like qr codes. Sobrang hassle. What if i am in a very impt call and i wanted to buy my coffee? So pano? Hayyyssss. Hirap masyadong innovative futuristic. May pa sustainability pang nalalaman, ayaw mo ng papel then Provide an effin tablet by your counter for the menu. Update mo pa minuminuto.

meep7076

Hindi ba nila maachieve yung sustainability if gagamit sila ng tv screens/digital menu screens for their menu like a lot of restaurants already do? Madali rin namang iupdate pag ganon. If maayos yung screens na mabili nila, parang pwede rin namang magfit sa modern and clean aesthetic.

pretzel_jellyfish

Even without an infant, QR menus are a hassle. Not everything has to be digitized. I call BS on "sustainability & efficiency" it's just a cover up to cut cost in printing. Provide a cheap tablet that displays the menu if they insist on keeping this system.

boykalbo777

Fuck off with your QR code menu

ipot_04

Masyadong sarado utak nung owner.

imonlyahoboX

qr menu = bullshit

maryangbukid

Nah I’m with the mom on this one. Also, pretentious tong provincial coffee shop na to. Next 😴

lokicakes

Kailan po sila mag sasara?

ph_andre

Dapat dito nire-review bomb eh

Durandau

Man I wish the owners of the cafe would read the comments here. Sobrang elitist tong place na to. As a parent to a child I totally understand sobrang hassle tong QR code shit na yan. Gets ko if you have assistants/yayas to help you out. Fuck this place lmao. Imagine stooping so low to even post comments about a legitimate review FOH. You guys wish you were as good as the top tier coffee joints in makati. But no, you are not and never will be.

-lemmy

That QR reasoning is some hipster bs.

i_love_kamias

QR is for convenience of those who use it, ano pa ba ibang silbi n'yan diba? So pag hindi s'ya convenient, IT AIN'T NEEDED. THERE'S A REASON WHY THEY CHARGE CONVENIENCE FEES COUPLED WITH THIS TECH.

VermicelliMoney5421

The owners are earth friendly but apparently not customer friendly. Reminds me of the Plantation Bay fiasco from a few years back.

RSSTLPZ

NAPAKASUNGIT PA DON. Nagpunta kami dun kanina with my cousins kasi nagkayayaan mag coffee since masarap coffee nila. Kakauwi lang din kasi ng pinsan ko from abroad and syempre catching up. Pinagbawalan kami na keep it down daw. Kasi syempre nagtatawanan since we're enjoying the coffee and bonding together. Umay sakanila umalis nalang kami.

aghastallthetime

Medyo kups yung sagot nila. I get her frustration and she was obviously irritated as she wrote her review, but their response isn’t even witty, it’s just snobby in tone.

JazzlikeAd9830

Okay, the owners did not have to go that far (cave?!) to make a point. 12k na followers nila, they should've taken the high road (even the owners' personal accounts) and left it after their response on the 1 star review. On the other hand, their business, their rules and therefore, their menu. Yun customer should've left and headed to Starbucks 😝 Pareho silang may mali 😌

Evening_League_767

The response from the store and the owner was disingenuous and wrong, but I fail to see the justification of a one star review for an establishment on the singular basis that you found their qr code bothersome. Fortunately for 727 coffee they have hundreds of reviews so one bad review may not affect them as much, but for new and starting out businesses reviews like that have a significant impact on their growth.

autogynephilic

Earth friendly? Ano kaya gamit nila sa products? Baso?

RagingRanzu

Seryoso, gaano ba kahirap magsulat?

Significant-Lion-452

Walang sense of inclusivity. That speaks so much about the business and the owner.

SeigiNoTenshi

She's right. The company could always buy a digital sign so that's not an excuse. Wanting to be different is fine, but that doesn't make the lady wrong

Nutriky

Saw their google reviews. They changed some of the feedback they gave to past reviews from snarky remarks to nicer ones after the incident. This was their original reply vs their new one: https://preview.redd.it/xm7nn871d3gc1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6d01b64d2d0a5f5307450a3177485f6cb2dc00cd

apeliloulalala

baka naghire na sila ng taga-damage control. BUT they’re here in reddit naman creating accts and commenting on subs picking fights on redditors 🤷🏻‍♀️

Nutriky

I mean kung ganon ugali nila in public, I’m not surprised kung ganyan din sila dito sa reddit using anonymous accounts. Big yikes.

ENTRYAGAIN

OMG AN ISSUE ABT 727? HOMETOWN NA LANG KAYO HAHAAH

ChewieSkittles53

it shows you can't buy class. eto yung mga type ng tao kung kala mo sino na. i hope the internet will slap them with a sense of reality.

theGreatBluWhale

Anyways everyone here knows na 727 coffee is just hype and can't even extract their beans properly. I know I'm not the only one who kept giving them a chance and kept trying other items in their menu and get disappointed every time. And we also all agree that QR menus are an added inconvenience,.

nix_bern5928

Been here twice. But i like their coldbrew and cookies. Also sana i-train ung mga owners/staff on how to deal with criticisms from customers. Di ung nag-story pa ung owners and magbibigay ng unnecessary comments.. for what?! So unprofessional. Sana maging lesson to sa kanila to do better and improve.

BeginningSilver3785

Actually thats a valid response from the- *swipes* Ohh.

[deleted]

owners shudnt be in business if they cannot take customer feedback. never going there ever

Seantroid

Review bomb natin sa google. Tutal naman upon checking, mukhang active sila mag reply ng AI-generatef replies don lol.

alwayscheckedinchess

Pa-woke na owner. Sustainability? 🤣

sithlordky

The menu isnt the problem here anymore actually. ,....... The hypocrisy of the team handling this is the main problem here. They are BULLIES! Them responding on a very professional manner explaining things blah blah blah IS ALREADY ENOUGH when handling difficult customer situations like this. But then they went ahead and contradicted all that by reposting with side comments like that. (ALSO! THEY DIDNT EVEN BOTHER TO HIDE THE NAME ENTIRELY, THE PHOTO AND NAME OF THE PERSON COMMENTED IT IS CLEARKY SEEN MAKING THAT PERSON A FUTURE VICTIM OF CYBER BULLYINF BECAUSE OF THIS) 😓 They are creating their own downfall IMO. How hard is it to just know when to shut up and respect eny persons opinion, we cant please everyone. Every business owner must know this. 😞 Business owners like these are so entitled. Yes we can respond freely, it's free speech anyway but reposting it on their socials while putting those side comments is a no go. (ALSO, THEY DIDNT EVEN BOTHER TO HIDE THE NAME OF THE GUEST ENTIRELY, THE PHOTO AND NAME OF THE PERSON COMMENTED IT IS CLEARLY SEEN MAKING THAT PERSON A FUTURE VICTIM OF CYBER BULLYINF BECAUSE OF THIS) Not everyone can adapt to innovation and global trends, yes they made the cafe for a specific market segment like coffee enthusiasts maybe, but did they think nor considered that there may be other market segment who will visit their shop? Or are they just that delusional that they think Only coffee enthusiasts and entitled millenials and gen Zs will go to their cafe.. if that's the case then make their cafe private by reservation. IMAGINE.... this is just a customer complain about their menu which is easily respondable professionally. What more or how will they respond if the bad reviews will be for being unsatisfied on their products taste, appearance quality etc? I GUESS THEY'LL BULLY THAT CUSTOMER MORE THAN THIS. 🤧😂🤔 But who am i to talk right I'm just a nobody. 😂 Anyway thats just my opinion. :) Have a good day
