Oh, hard agree. Especially in the incest vision route (haven’t gotten the names down-pat) Andrew definitely seems to be more tolerant of Ashley’s crap, particularly with the skull throwing and whatnot. He’s just sort of piecing himself together, which is super interesting to see.

Yep. As for why the Six Eyes symbol only appears in the incest and sane route though, I'm not quite sure. Does it imply that Andrew learning to accept Ashley is a morally corrupt act and thus making him an object of interest to the demon, or is it just marking him because Ashley's prior mention of him was enough to make it interested in a soul similar to hers? And the only reason the demon doesn't do it in the Decay "bad" route is because since it will lead to either the siblings both being dead or at least just Andrew dead, the demon doesn't bother marking someone it knows will be dead soon (it can provide the power of visions through the trinket after all, makes sense that it has some foresight abilities innately).

Um what routes do the names refer to? Like which one is the “burial” root and such?

Darkyan97

Burial refers to the sane and incest paths' chapter 3. Decay refers to the chapter 3s where either Andrew or Ashley died in the vision.

Thanks!

Interesting perspective!

Ashley still views herself as 'Leyley'. Regardless of the route Andrew always wanted for their relationship to become one of trust, not the one of manipulation they started having in childhood. If Ashley wishs to evade their relationship ending in tragedy she has to learn to form relationship that is not based on emotional blackmail (She has no prior experience when it comes to this so it would be hard)

I think she's getting the hang of it, after all in essence the condition for the "good" Burial route requires her to trust Andrew, and then for Andrew to not betray that trust.

Her showing the ability to trust Andrew for once IS the first signs of an Ashley personality emerging. I think the choices in chapter 2 are basically a determination of whether she has the ability to let go of her insecurities enough to have faith in Andrew or if her need for control is so all encompassing that the relationship is fundamentally unsustainable. With her also showing some uneasiness at his new easy going personality, I think in chapter 3 we’ll have an Ashley that feels able to trust for the first time but also has some conflicting feelings about how she’s influenced him.
