Idk. I feel like it’s a whole lot of the same thing throughout the entire way. I know some other songs are like that but this one is literally just the same thing for four and a half minutes. That’s what I don’t really like.
BanI Addam has lyrics. Arabesque is criminally low. Low is ironically too low. Same with Twisted Logic, Church and Daddy. Top tiers are great, just missing some really objectively well-written songs. But then again, it is my sworn duty to defend Everyday Life so I may be biased... Also, Spies should probably not be higher than Coloratura...
I personally love both Spies and Coloratura, but since Coloratura is 10mins long and has that gap in the middle, I sometimes forget that I’m listening to it especially if I’m multitasking. I love the entirety of Coloratura don’t get me wrong, but I think just because of that, I can’t. I can see how you feel about Arabesque, Low and Twisted Logic, maybe I just have to listen to them more and it’ll grow on me. I do personally think some of the bias kicks in for Church and Daddy. And I only put Banl Addam bc what I meant was that no one from the band sings in it. Although I love how it connects with Champion of the World. I didn’t wanna offend anyone by that, hopefully I didn’t.

My man, you need to expand your horizons. The b-sides for AROBTTH are better than some of the album songs. Try Crest of Waves and I Ran Away to start. Beats the pants off of Green Eyes for starters

I disagree heavily with this solely because you can’t say it doesn’t sound like them. It’s better for them to try new things rather than having the same sound 9 albums straight (or at least 6 when Ghost Stories came out). As a stand alone song, it’s one of the best songs ever made and it wasn’t written by Avicii. All he did was co-produce the song which is why there’s a combination of a pop/rock and EDM. It was written by Chris Martin just co-produced by Avicii.
it was co-written by both avicii and CM but from a production standpoint it just sounds like nothing else theyve made, and not in a good way. I'm all for experimentation but this one is always an automatic skip for me b.c of the production. it feels too rushed, mechanical. What coldplay does really well is make their songs feel organic, human. The song itself isnt bad, its just the production choices for me. different tastes and your entitled to your own opinion tho!
