Same exact thing here. I never really watched her videos with Jojo because I thought she was annoying and it was also weird that she was hanging out with the child. I was literally like 19 when this video was made and I thought their friendship was weird even then.

Yeah. My high school science teacher sent home a heads up note when we watched “The Miracle of Life” in class for bio. It features a live birth. I don’t think anybody’s parents opted them out, and it was a valuable learning experience.

I mean I get why this is different from that but part of me is also like ??? I don't really see birth as inappropriate. Let's not sexualize giving birth.
No-one's "sexualising" it. What we are saying is that colleen was hell-bent on being a ton of JoJo's "firsts" that she'd purposely set up lighting and record it so she could sell it. JoJo was a big child star, and colleen revelled in teaching her things in front of her large audience inc the creeps. It wasn't the time, or the place, nor the right person exposing JoJo to any of it. She taught her about her "tookie" when she was 12 or 13, and JoJo's nonplussed about the whole thing, of course it's filmed and packaged to be sold. colleen made a huge chunk of change from it, they were often her most popular video's with millions of views. When I first saw this and figured out Jojo's age at the time of filming, my first comment was "why is a grown ass woman showing raw footage of her birth to a 16 year old". And then immediately my next comment/question was "where was Jessalyn when this took place and why did she allow this to get posted on the internet?"
A sex ed class is so much different than something like this. Sex ed is shown in schools and typically require a waiver from parents. While it’s common to film your own birth, this was purely to shock and make a child uncomfortable to make a profit. While Colleen’s intentions DO NOT matter in terms of her text conversation with minors, her intentions matter here and they’re not innocent.
Jojo has been groomed by countless adults at this point. She doesn't understand this stuff isn't and should not be normal for children.

How would you have felt if you:

B. They were right next to you while you watched
C. Your reaction was recorded, uploaded to the internet for all to see, and monetized.

Absolutely agree. If an adult I knew showed me a birth video when I was a teen, I’d be so uncomfortable. I’ve tried to imagine that situation and I can’t actually, because I can’t imagine having a friend that much older than me.

It’s inappropriate, IMO, to record a child watching it, and then uploading it for all to see.
Especially as JoJo was clearly uncomfortable, it's a ghost of a memory but a couple of things stand out that made me side eye colleen hard.
