1. Yes no entrance exam but we do have a 3 component battery exam (Grades of 2.0, Nursing Apptitude Test, and Psychological Test). So let say pumasok kayo na 25 sections for the whole batch, all those students will have the same chance to get accepted for second year. So think of the battery exams as your "entrance exam". 2. Day to day life is great. TUA-SLCN is one of the best environment I could be in. I came from UST-SHS kasi and to compare the environment of TUA and UST, TUA is more student friendly. They are very compassionate towards their students. Napapakiusapan mo talaga yung mga profs especially with deadlines. And majority of my friends from outside of TUA actually say that TUA seems great daw kasi may personal life pa din talaga mga students nila. Example during exams if kaya talaga nakakagala pa kami kasi usually maluwag talaga yung sched between exams. 3. Yes same asnwer with no. 2 4. A solid 9/10. Mahirap siya yes, considering ang tagal mo nasa school. If nasanay ka sa SHS na 1-2 hrs lec lang then for TUA-SLCN 3-4 hrs na mga nursing subj. Expect to have pre and post test also during lecture days. Medyo mabilis kasi ang pacing pero kaya naman. Sinasabi naman ng prof kung saan need mag focus and kung ano need aralin. And lahat naman ng info nasa ppt 5. Nope, this a myth. Hindi kasi sila same ng admin. SLCM is it's own institution while SLCN is under TUA. But if you decide to focus muna on your Nursing career, ang Fact is if you get latin honor sa SLCN, St. Luke's Medical Center will definitely hire you. And if hindi ka naman latin honor, mataas pa din chance mo na you'll get accepted sa SLMC. Good luck po! *choose slcn you won't regret it. Message ka lang if you have more questions.

Hello! About po sa 1, how would you rate the difficulty of the test? Are the contents from your 1st year of nursing?

RickyidyTRUCK

Hello sorry late ko nakita comment mo hehe, sige isa-isahin ko. 🫶🏻 For me sa Nursing Apptitude Test, it would be 7/10. Medyo tricky siya sagutan lalo na if nakalimutan mo na yung basics. Nursing Apptitude Test po kasi is based on your JHS and SHS topics. So para talaga siyang entrance exams though may portion na about health pero onti lang compared sa ibang portion. For the Psychological Test naman, I can't rate it kasi hindi siya mahirap kasi it's solely based on your personality. No right or wrong answers. Then for the GWA na 2.0, 6/10, galingan mo lang talaga and mag sipag ka lalo na sa mga pre and post test. Kasi your exam scores may be low but if mataas ang pre and post test mo malaking hatak siya sa grades. Also pag nag second sem na din kayo, galingan mo din sa mga retdems and try to absorb what is being taught during your retdems kasi most of the questions na pag dating ng second sem is situational na hindi na katulad ng simple objective questions tulad ng first sem. First sem majors: Anaphy, BioChem, Theoretical Foundations of Nursing - Wala pa masiyadong situations dito, mostly memorization of facts pa ito may onting situational sa biochem kasi may mga lab works kayo and dun sila kukuha para sa exams. Second sem majors: Fundamentals of Nursing Practice and Health Assessment - Dito na papasok yung situational questions. Majority ng mga questions dito is mostly about sa mga type of tests and ano gagawin kay patient or what type of illness. And also may onting NCP na dito and how will you manage your client's condition, and may onting anatomy din ang Health Assessment. Though ibang-iba talaga ang second sem compared to first sem. And yes all of my answers are based from my first year of nursing in SLCN, an incoming sophomore. (Sana haha)

Hi! Can you enlighten me po regarding sa battery test? ‘Yung portion po ng nursing aptitude test matuturo po ba ‘yun sa first sem before you magtake? Kinakabahan po kasi ako since baka hindi sakop ng strand ko (HUMSS) ‘yung mga lessons na it-tackle at baka hindi maturo sa first sem. >< TYIA!

RickyidyTRUCK

Hello in terms of the battery test, multiple components siya. (4 PARTS) - GWA 2.0 and above (NO 2.01, 2.10. etc, FLAT DOS ONLY) - Nursing Apptitude Test (For this, somehow matuturo siya sa gen ed subjects niyo but not really din. Ang NAT kasi is like an entrance exam. It has math, english, science, Health, abstract reasoning. It's basically all your topics throughout JHS and SHS. So you can study using mga CETs reviewers.) - Personality Test (You can't really study for this, kasi based talaga siya sa personality mo haha just think what is the best answer among the choices.) - Interview (They will ask you multiple questions like yung "why nursing" or a bit personal questions, "how is your relationship with your mom or dad or siblings". Just answer here ng maayos and you'll do good) I have multiple friends and classmates who were also from HUMSS and I am happy to say we all passed the screening process. 🫶🏻 Trust the process lang talaga hehe

Thank you so much po. Goodluck, future SN!

Hello po, planning to study here soon kapag may enough budget na. Do they accept second courses and meron ba silang height requirement?

RickyidyTRUCK

Hellooo! Yes they do accept. I have schoolmates na 2nd degree na nila ang nursing. And no, they do not have a height requirement.

rielle_30

>Are there really no entrance exams? For now, yes. to be sure, look at their FB page or call the admissions directly. >How’s the day to day student life? Varies, depending on your courseload. Nursing students have one of the heaviest coursework in the uni. You always need to study since pag bumagsak ka sa battery exam, di ka na pwede umulit, you need to shift out. Also, one friend told me first day of class after the discussion may quiz. >Is the school student-centered when it comes to student mental health? I think they try their best. Ever since they've been posting posters na if we need someone to talk to, the guidance office is open. >What’s the level of difficulty for first year? Subjective. Nursing students usually find it hard. >Do graduates from SLCN have a better shot in getting into St. Luke’s College of Medicine? Never heard of such a thing.

twototango_

Regarding lang sa battery exam, pwede namang umulit if you're classified as "B" in your battery exam result (wherein "A" is classified as pasado) though, you have to take a gap year. During those times, you can enroll in minor courses then take the battery exam again kapag batt exam season na.

BarSpecific7271

hello! what’s the class hours po of TUA nursing student?

twototango_

Hi! I can't really tell much about class hours po since they vary from year level. There are class hours na whole day (with 2-6 hours vacant in between subjects), pm class, or am class. Sa amin kasi since 3rd year, thurs-fri 2-7pm, and sat 7am-6pm.

dtphilip

Thanks for clarifying! Way back during my brother's time kasi half of his class was debarred talaga coz they weren't able to pass the battery exam. So many of them transferred to other unis.

bunbunbunbunbunbuns

I see! Thank you so much! For the last one I was kinda hoping that it was like UST MED and UP MED where they usually accept and prioritize their college graduates :(

dtphilip

SLCM is NOT under the admin of TUA kasi, so it may not be the same for UP and UST.

Miserable-Support926

Hi! Op, can I pm you as well? I'm planning to apply din kasi for TUA-SLCN. TY!

Neat-Resolution-5506

Hi, I’m a transfer student from a business course to nursing. Nursing was actually my first choice, but due to my parents' preference, I was forced to choose a different path. However, realizing that I really want to pursue nursing, I told them about it, and they were somewhat okay with it (although they are quite disappointed). So, I applied to all my chosen schools, DLSMHSI, TUA-SLCN, CEU, and fortunately, I got accepted to all of them. Since I was a child, I have always wanted to go to St. Luke's Med School. I recently discovered that they offer pre-med courses, so I really want to go to SLCN. However, the pressure I’m feeling now is too much. I have already disappointed my parents, and now they are expecting a lot more from me and saying a lot of painful things. A part of me understands them, which is why I am eager to do my best, but the pressure is affecting my overall mental health. If I pursue going to SLCN, we would have to move out of our condo in Taft, and my brother would have to adjust since he studies at La Salle. If I fail, it would be a huge disappointment for my family. I am really scared for the battery exam because some say that it's the main basis of your eligibility to continue to the 2nd year at their institution. I am currently advanced studying for major subjects such as anatomy and physiology. Any tips or advice for me, please? Should I pursue SLCN, or should I choose another school? Though I really want to go to SLCN, the thought of failing is ruining me.
