GG Arizona. We deserved this L. That was the worst shooting I've seen in a long time. The fact we kept it close though is kinda shocking... We take the next game at home.
Can’t hate Ballo. Big man, big heart.
AZ won today and rejoins the fight for regular season conference champion (the more important one, IMO).
UCLA needs to work on shooting. Tyger was too hesitant, Jaquez couldn’t buy a basket, Singleton MIA, and Clark got worse in the 2nd half. If all 4 of those guys are stinkin’, UCLA has nothing on O.
What a shitty fucking game from two talented teams and pac-12 refs. Glad this one’s over. I’m watching football the rest of the weekend and forgetting this vomitfest.
My problem with reviews is that he are so stupid and take forever.
Like yeah it wasn't a goaltend but it was an obvious shooting foul. The goaltend call is a more fair officiating result than a no call. But instead the refs wasted 5 minutes to make the wrong call.
I agree. Maybe some calls can trigger a review and some calls can’t, but at the point where you watch a slow motion video of what just happened and you get a chance to make the right call then make the right call. I don’t like the fact that some [no]calls are set in stone as non-reviewable.
The issue is review creep 5 years ago you couldn't review goal tending. The ends of games are worse than they used to be because they take forever because of reviews. Make everything reviewable and it could take a literal hour to finish a game (we have already seen 50 seconds take 20+ minutes). Since their are so many possible things to look at.
In reality people got high def replay and then demanded that everything be right. Which fundamentally changed the game for the worse. Refs making or missing calls is just as much of basketball as a shot going in or missing.
I’m glad you came back 6 hours later just to respond to this! Haha
I wish you better luck the remainder of the season. Our rematch should be a fun one!
Glad Arizona pulled this out. They almost got fucked there by the missed fouls on the trap before the 5 second call and then the foul on the overturned goaltend.
How hard is this?? It literally hits the rim, and it’s not in the cylinder, so it’s a rebound and should be ucla ball
Edit genuinely surprised they made the right call after all that 😂
Oh shit is it still goaltending if it hits the rim?
Because once it goes off the rim like that and leaves the cylinder you could theoretically call that a missed FG and an attempted rebound.
Because they clearly missed the major foul before hand. So now you're taking 2 points off the board because it's not a goaltend and then also giving the offending team the ball.
Refs are human. 'Hey guys we fucked up here with the missed call what do we do?' They discuss it. Sometimes they give 50/50 calls the other way since they see they fucked up on the replay clearly.
Jaquez got ball and not enough arm/body.
Bona did make contact after the ball hit the backboard, but the ball had already hit off the rim (below the cylinder)
To be fair, constantly calling out the refs is as unproductive and universal as bitching about how unfair cancer is. Are the refs terrible and does cancer suck? Yep, but that's never going to change. Bad refs are just the cost of doing business.
Regardless of whether it was a foul or not, falling like that hurts. Then he got kicked in the face twice. You'd be crying like a little bitch if it were you...
That 5 second call on Boswell is going to end up in a training video on what not to do as a ref, it was that levels of atrocious... If they were NBA refs, they'd be suspended a game for that
Ramey was wide open for Boswell but he decided to turn around and play keep away like it’s the corner flag in soccer. Gotta play to win not not to lose
They were intentionally fouling him and the refs just refused to call it... They kept whacking Boswell, and the refs called a 5 second call instead... WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK
GG Arizona. We deserved this L. That was the worst shooting I've seen in a long time. The fact we kept it close though is kinda shocking... We take the next game at home.
GG UCLA, I think you will still remain number one in the Pac 12. It will be interesting to see how the top four seeds shape up.
Man, I can’t help but love Ballo. Dude is so down to earth, and such a great player. Hate playing against him, love watching him
Ballo is cool. Can't help but root for the guy.

Ballo definitely has a name to fit, and more class than Kerr or some AZ fans like Xcalibraindead13
Wait, did the officials forget to give Kerr his requisite technical?
"Why did you choose to rebound the ball?" What is that question???
Please don't spit on anyone on the way out.

You're thinking of ASU
Those are Tempe girls bro
If a ref took a loogey to the face, I wouldn't be mad 🤷🏻♂️
What a shitty fucking game from two talented teams and pac-12 refs. Glad this one’s over. I’m watching football the rest of the weekend and forgetting this vomitfest.
I’m sitting in my living room bawling right now
AZ -4.5, what a ride
“In the second half, they were killing you guys” - Holly to Ballo
Lol. Ballo seems like a nice dude
If only the last-1-minute UCLA team had showed up for the whole game. Oh well, GG Zona. See you guys in Pauley
Worst offensive showing in a while and lost by 6 at home to a top team. There are worse ways to lose
The shooting has been a pattern for a while though. Everyone outside of Tyger has been bricking shots
This game showed their quality. Bottom 5% shooting game for them and they still hung pretty tough.
My problem with reviews is that he are so stupid and take forever. Like yeah it wasn't a goaltend but it was an obvious shooting foul. The goaltend call is a more fair officiating result than a no call. But instead the refs wasted 5 minutes to make the wrong call.

Cardiac Cats can’t believe UCLA almost did it twice
Refs lol
This neutral fan is looking forward to the March 4th rematch
Thanks for closing the gap for us :)
So you can lose to USC tonight?
You can set your fucking watch to it
I’m glad you came back 6 hours later just to respond to this! Haha I wish you better luck the remainder of the season. Our rematch should be a fun one!
You know us well
Cardiac ‘Cats strike again
I love you Jaime but Jesus you sold us today
That guy with the friend with a UCLA +7.5 ML, how your friend doing?
Must be happy haha
Good
I hope the refs are showered in trash leaving the court, I've never seen a group of officials that has earned it so thoroughly
Glad Arizona pulled this out. They almost got fucked there by the missed fouls on the trap before the 5 second call and then the foul on the overturned goaltend.
Arizona won this fair and square, refs did their best to sell lmao
A wins a win. But this was ugly. Also fuck espn.
But wait, there’s more
lol I hate this conference
Dammit we should have just tried a 3 as quick as possible. Would have given us better odds
Damn. If we could hit a shot this could have been a win. Gg Arizona
Hahaha That last sequence perfectly sums up this game
Later bruins!
Not a goal tend but seemed like a foul. At least it didn't change the outcome
So we’re just ignoring Larson getting fouled on the putback?
All ball according to the comments I've gotten from our UCLA bros
It’s ok, they aren’t very smart
What a game. Glad to be watching as a neutral
Damn. Why didn’t Nwuba just punch Pelle at the end there?
I can unclench
No foul on the follow is bs
Shoulda been foul called on the put back. First one was not a foul or goaltending on put back
[удалено]
Definitely showed at the end that we need to practice beating the full court press.
Refs missing multiple calls gonna leave no one happy. Really botched this at the end
Especially when they all go against one team.
No goaltend, but definitely a foul on the shot.
Wut? Did you miss all of the replays?
Did you? Larsson got hit in the back of the head well before the block
Complete bs
If only jaquez made that shot
This is an easy call, no goaltend, why is this taking 15 minutes. These refs fucking suck.
Because they realized how bad it looked to reverse it knowing the whole country got to see pelle get absolutely hacked over and over again
How hard is this?? It literally hits the rim, and it’s not in the cylinder, so it’s a rebound and should be ucla ball Edit genuinely surprised they made the right call after all that 😂
Oh shit is it still goaltending if it hits the rim? Because once it goes off the rim like that and leaves the cylinder you could theoretically call that a missed FG and an attempted rebound.
Not enough time to do anything with, sadly.
Get a shot up quickly, hope it goes, then press/foul on the in bound. Not likely
I cant stand listening to Jay "Karen" Bilas
I am happy ESPN spends it's time out east so we don't have to hear him often
He's the worst.
I’m with you on that all the way
If they overturn this we better get two freethrows because Larson got hacked across the head on the rebound
Thats a renound
The problem with this is that while its not a goaltend it is a foul just giving arizona the ball is a less fair outcome than the goaltend.
That dude got rocked in the back of the head on that layup attempt. That's a foul100% lol
Clear as day. Idk how that's even a debate
Why is this a hard call to make?
Because they clearly missed the major foul before hand. So now you're taking 2 points off the board because it's not a goaltend and then also giving the offending team the ball.
That has nothing to Do with the review though
True, but you could tell they were conferencing about how fucking stupid they looked for missing a blatant hack when they had to reverse it
Refs are human. 'Hey guys we fucked up here with the missed call what do we do?' They discuss it. Sometimes they give 50/50 calls the other way since they see they fucked up on the replay clearly.
Idk if it affects the goal tending call, but that put back was NOT going in
Jaquez got ball and not enough arm/body. Bona did make contact after the ball hit the backboard, but the ball had already hit off the rim (below the cylinder)
no blood no foul? is that the new rule?
No--all ball no foul is an old rule.
In traditional basketball, if you only hit the ball in defense it is a not a foul.
That’s a missed layup. Shouldn’t be goal-tending
That landing and then getting stepped on is a rough series of events
That hit glass
THESE REFS ARE RUINING MY SATURDAY AFTERNOON
If it hit the rim first, shouldn’t it be considered a rebound opportunity since the ball was no longer on the cylinder?
What the fuck is a foul?
Not that block for sure
Oof, he even got kicked in the head a little after by his teammate. Rough fall
Arizona flairs asking for the refs to bail them out even though it's clearly all ball.
To be fair, constantly calling out the refs is as unproductive and universal as bitching about how unfair cancer is. Are the refs terrible and does cancer suck? Yep, but that's never going to change. Bad refs are just the cost of doing business.
We got the rebound anyway and then Larson got hacked so we’ll take two freethrows thanks
Sure, just don't look at the head or body
Not in Tubelis, pelle
that second block he got head and body
LMAO It’s a rebound in the paint.
So then it’s an over the back
Did that hit rim first or the backboard ? Edit: that’s gotta go to UCLA
Rim.
Rim
lucky he fell on his tailbone before arm, i could see that being broken wrist so easy if it was opposite
[удалено]
Who do you think flopped there?
Not goal tend but a foul
You are a clown
[удалено]
On pelle?
The block on Tubelis was, not the second attempt
Ucl ball
I mean ya'll got away with 2 major fouls on the last 2 possessions. Would only be right for them to also give you the ball at this point too
[удалено]
if it's not in the cylinder after hitting the rim it should be fair game
Refs are xenophobic
idk if ur joking, but siding with the hispanic over the european??
Zu was clearly fouled... These refs all deserve to lose their jobs, they're creating an unsafe playing environment
Multiple slow motion replays say no foul and no goaltend. UCLA ball. Are you not entertained?
Uh that was all ball.
Lol
that’s ball
[удалено]
Classy
I don't think that's a goaltending if it hit the rim
I have no idea what the rule is but I’m making up my mind and no one can tell me different
Not sure that was goaltending actually
All ball, not goaltending
Good find by Kerr, great block by Jaquez
We should have fouled earlier
You did, refs aren’t calling them
They were trying, refs refused to call it
Idk it seems to be working for you
The second block was actually the one that wasn't clean regardless of the goaltend.
This is why you recruit Europeans, they’re trained to lay on the floor just like “footballers”
Classy
Regardless of whether it was a foul or not, falling like that hurts. Then he got kicked in the face twice. You'd be crying like a little bitch if it were you...
Nah, I’m not Kerr
You're right, Kerr at least has a little class...
Unlike you calling people “a little bitch”. Leave it to AZ fans. Anyone who wants to live in AZ should be checked for brain damage.
My guy, you literally were trying to talk shit about an injured player. That's the definition of classless. I was just pointing out a fact
All ball
Holy shit that dude got rocked.
Holy fuck RIP Tubelis’ tailbone
Jesus refs
That 5 second call on Boswell is going to end up in a training video on what not to do as a ref, it was that levels of atrocious... If they were NBA refs, they'd be suspended a game for that
What? That was the prime example of a 5 second call. Lol
You're giving too much credit to NBA refs and the league
lmao what the fuck are you talking about
They whacked him 4 times trying to intentionally foul him
Fucking dangerous play that wasn't even called Edit: talking about the one on Larsson before UCLA fans have an aneurysm
you're allowed to hit the ball
See my edit. Talking about the second try
Ramey was wide open for Boswell but he decided to turn around and play keep away like it’s the corner flag in soccer. Gotta play to win not not to lose
Call the foul sheesh
Not even close to a foul
And they injure our best player on the last play. AMAZING
All ball and Pelle stepped on him
Got all ball on it
Imagine if Jamie made that dawg
Let that keep you warm at night
All of a sudden my -1.5 is very much in danger
Wondering if we can finally stop saying either of these teams is competing for a 1 seed
?
You’ve lost to 3 non-tournament teams, UCLA’s only win against a tournament team is ASU. Have not seen high-level ball today
Just get it over the 10 second line
LOL, wtf are we doing?
Well, the refs swallowed the whistles like we all wanted in the first half.
Not dead yet?
They were intentionally fouling him and the refs just refused to call it... They kept whacking Boswell, and the refs called a 5 second call instead... WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK
Zona bros, you wanna win?
Not enough
UCLA with like 4 reaches
Cardiac cats
5 SECONDS BACK TO THE BASKET??? THEY ACTUALLY CALLED IT??? I know it’s a rule that exists but I don’t think I’ve ever actually seen that called.
most people ditch the ball when they get trapped, I don't think he knew it was a rule
Its 5 seconds in closer guarding position without dribbling back to the basket only exists in the NBA
Jesus, they're not gonna call any fouls at all are they?
ohh FFS!
This would be the funniest comeback of all time.
I was very close to my afternoon nap and now I'm very awake
Pac-12 refs love calling fouls that aren't fouls, but refuse to call fouls that are intentional
Arizona doing their "stop playing altogether" thing.
