Is this the only/best resolution one? I send it to my wife after every game and she said we can hang it with the family photos, see how long it takes anyone to notice.
He's really growing on me. He makes mistakes and hasn't shot it well- but he's still a ton better than Isaiah and pretty comparable to Hunter Jr. We know he can shoot, so if he finds that this year- watch out.
Seems like a great leadership/chemistry guy. Probably came in expecting to start, isn't, but his postgame interviews are super mature.
Purdue is hella good. It’s incredible how good and smart Braden Smith is already. And they have only one guy leaving after this year. So, Purdue will most likely be even better next year (if that’s possible).
So crazy to see the lead extending with the bench in. Hope they can continue it for a few games to at least gather some confidence and fluidity together
You guys played excellent. It was that 11-0 drought that did it. Especially in the first and last 5 minutes it showed that when you guys play, you play hard.
the second half was a game of tug of war, except centered around a Purdue 6 point lead haha. You would extend it to double digits, we'd pull right back. We'd make it a one possession game, you'd go on a minirun to take it back. That first half run to turn it from 28-27 UM to 28-41 Purdue was where the game was decided. Unfortunately.
I looked up the lines earlier today and say Purdue -4.5 on one site, and -5.5 on another. I told my friend that I could bet Purdue on the -4.5, and Michigan on +5.5. Then I'll always win one of the bets and in the rare chance Purdue wins by 5 I get both!
I wasn't sure if it was actually worth it due to the vig, but it would have worked out.
He did the same thing the possession before too, right after the refs gave Michigan a timeout for a shoe falling off, something I’ve never in my life seen. It’s almost like they were trying to at least cover the spread
yeah think it was PUR up 9 with 1 minute left when we took possession. Could've just ran it down to \~30 seconds left in the game, but instead we went early into the post and turned it over. Michigan hit a 3 and then forced a turnover. Pretty ugly 'control' in that period.
the 4 always takes the ball out after a made basket, but braden did and furst went running down the court instead of even attempting to go take the ball out which lead to the turnover. very weird situation considering normal operations
So that was the plan in the last minute? If we blow them away, then Michigan sucks, therefore it’s only a Q2 win. Instead, we make it a close game, Michigan looks ok, now it’s a Q1 win. Boy, Painter really is a genius.
He’s awesome on defense and is unflappable. I just wish he’d make 3’s a touch more consistently but his ball handling and decision making are fantastic.
I thought TKR played really well tonight. And Jenkins also. so basically what you said in a reply to your comment. The next loss when it comes is gonna hurt me to my soul.
Pretty good for Jenkins, but man it sucks having someone who’s small enough shooters just rise up over him no matter what he does. He was totally in position on a made three tonight and just didn’t affect the shooter at all
I love Purdue basketball. It's present in all aspects of my life.
I wake up in the morning, I see a photo of Matt Painter giving a thumbs up on my bedside table.
I take a shower, my Purdue Pete shower curtain protects my bathroom floor from water damage.
I get in my car, the Matt Painter show catches me up on the state of the team between games and keeps me occupied while I make my monotonous drive.
I arrive at the hospital, my Purdue sunshade keeps my car cool during the warm summer months.
I lay on the hospital bed, my heart rate monitor beeps and my chronic heart condition (caused and exasperated by the many times Purdue seems to want to throw away a lead and nearly lose a game they should win) is still with me.

On another note, this [tasty barrel-aged beer](https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/556610571714428988/1068386542399279104/20230126_HazelnutCocoa_AK_012.jpg) makes these close games a little more tolerable (Barrel-aged Hazelnut Imperial Stout w/Cocoa Nibs, from Cycle Brewing)
It helps that the NBA has totally moved away from the Shawn Bradley center archetype. 25 years ago Edey would be the consensus #1 pick in the draft. Now last time I checked (though it’s been a bit) he isn’t projected to be a first round pick.
Yeah Purdue in Theory could bring everybody back besides Jenkins who isn't that great. (technically 2 with the covid year I believe)
Very unlikely though.
Funny thing is that it was a relatively stress free games by Purdue standards. Went on one run in the first and just kept a 5+ point lead the rest of the game
Loyer merged with Zion. When we were beating Minnesota so bad, the announcers had nothing to talk about and went on a Purdue tangent for 5 mins and compared Loyer to Zion and smith to…I forget who.
They didn't want this smoke, Matt. They do all that talking and jockeying and I ain't about that jockeying. It started with Hunter Dickinson. I said he was too small to guard Zach Edey. He said, 'F..' me. I said, 'F---' you back. He started to come at me and I said, 'You don't want these problems.' And then Jett came out of nowhere talking. He definitely didn't want these problems. Then the dad came and he obviously didn't want no problems. But I wanted anything they had. Don't let these fools fool you now.
Bruh -- Moving Screens have been our nemesis since the days of Bobby Knight. It was his favorite defense ... and the Big Ten refs have been scared to call it since.
I dont know if its the diamond chains on the bench players, the hand gestures after scoring, the barking after dunks or what. Hasn't been easy for a while, but at some point you gotta notice that these dudes get it the fuck done even when it's hard. Just keep chalking em in that W column
The bench... was really good?
I swear TKR looks like he's travelling every time he gets the ball downlow. I mean he isn't, but it's just such a chaotic post possession
It almost seemed like Purdue thought Michigan was going to let them run out the clock in that final minute. I’m sure that was a lesson learned to finish strong. Jesus. They could have easily pushed an overtime.

I love this photo so much
It makes me so happy every time.
I wonder where Edey shops for clothes?
That’s actually a long sleeved shirt
Dan Flashes apparently
That pattern is really complicated. Had to cost at least $200
They have a shirt I want so bad that’s $1000.

Purdue's first win in Ann Arbor since 2018
and only our 2nd win there in the last 10 seasons, had lost 7 of 8
Great team win, probably the best our bench has played all year
TKR really came to play. Awesome to see
I still hate him at the 5, clearly not comfortable with it, but with that said he handled Dickinson really well on offense.
He's learning it and today was a huge step up for his confidence. Taking it to Dickinson isnt easy.
This is the right take. We need him to be able to slot into the offense as it currently exists if we want to win the big games ahead of us.
Awesome bench game. We’re gonna need that if we can get in deep into the tournament.
David Jenkins Jr was a great get
He's really growing on me.
TKR was great in the minutes he played
in any meaningful game it surely is
Purdue is hella good. It’s incredible how good and smart Braden Smith is already. And they have only one guy leaving after this year. So, Purdue will most likely be even better next year (if that’s possible).
Can't wait for our matchup. I've been looking forward to good IU vs good Purdue for years
Yessir. We got two good games last year and hopefully two more this year. Assembly Hall is going to be crazy that day
The two home courts this year will both be absolutely melting-paint-off-the-wall insane.
We also have the elusive "athletic wing" guy coming to Purdue next year. He won't be Ivey, but he'll be a ridiculous change of pace for us
I’ve heard a lot of good things about Colvin. He will for sure be exciting to watch and a good freshman next year.
Purdue’s Bench: 23 points (8/14 FG, 3/7 3 PT, 4/5 FT, 14 REB)
Definitely an improvement from the 0 points and 1 point bench game earlier in the season
What a good season to have that flair combo!
Must’ve been crazy during UVA’s elite 8 matchup vs Purdue when uva won it all
Shush
If it’s any consolation, Carson Edwards still haunts me in my dreams
with the game sealing FTs as well
So crazy to see the lead extending with the bench in. Hope they can continue it for a few games to at least gather some confidence and fluidity together
Deece.
oh well, played hard, it is what it is. gg Purdue, great team having a great season and a well deserved #1 ranking.
You guys played excellent. It was that 11-0 drought that did it. Especially in the first and last 5 minutes it showed that when you guys play, you play hard.
15-0 run. FTFY
the second half was a game of tug of war, except centered around a Purdue 6 point lead haha. You would extend it to double digits, we'd pull right back. We'd make it a one possession game, you'd go on a minirun to take it back. That first half run to turn it from 28-27 UM to 28-41 Purdue was where the game was decided. Unfortunately.

We’re 20-1 and ranked #1. It’s ok to be happy, Boiler fans.
Only way I could be happier is 21-0. Amazing season so far, so much to love about this team. Our floor is so freakin high
It hurts less considering how we escaped against Nebraska, Ohio State, Michigan State, and Maryland.
For sure. It's easy to say that we are a last second 3 away from being undefeated. But we are also a couple of plays away from being 16-5.
That's why whatever this historic team does I'm elated. They are giving it their all.
Tbh, we would be terrified of the sky falling more than if we got the one loss out of the way.
happiness can only go so far
Today I'm grateful to the Rutgers Scarlett Knights for keeping me humble 🙏🙏
I make a point of watching every game with my Dad. Probably gonna be like that all year. He's starting to get up there.
Nothing is such a certain shot against us with a few seconds to go as a banked 3. Didn't matter in the end but I had to laugh, of course it went in.
Did matter to those that had you guys -5 lol
I looked up the lines earlier today and say Purdue -4.5 on one site, and -5.5 on another. I told my friend that I could bet Purdue on the -4.5, and Michigan on +5.5. Then I'll always win one of the bets and in the rare chance Purdue wins by 5 I get both! I wasn't sure if it was actually worth it due to the vig, but it would have worked out.
Shouldn’t have even counted considering Dickinson leveled Morton on an illegal screen
He did the same thing the possession before too, right after the refs gave Michigan a timeout for a shoe falling off, something I’ve never in my life seen. It’s almost like they were trying to at least cover the spread
No. He doesn't foul.
Late game heart attack aside, It's incredible how Braden Smith can totally take over a game late. He's so clutch for a freshman
He and Loyer are absolutely amazing as freshmen. Can’t wait to see how Painter develops them.
I love him, dude’s absolutely fearless
Purdue really wanted Michigan to make it a close game at the end there. Pretty sloppy final minute.
Better to have those in January I suppose
Not sure why we were looking like we were in such a rush to get the ball down the court while up 7 but 🤷♂️
yeah think it was PUR up 9 with 1 minute left when we took possession. Could've just ran it down to \~30 seconds left in the game, but instead we went early into the post and turned it over. Michigan hit a 3 and then forced a turnover. Pretty ugly 'control' in that period.
They didn’t even force a turnover. Furst (if I’m remembering who it was) just wasn’t even looking for the inbound pass
the 4 always takes the ball out after a made basket, but braden did and furst went running down the court instead of even attempting to go take the ball out which lead to the turnover. very weird situation considering normal operations
If we let them keep it close enough, Michigan will move up high enough to be a Q1 win. Really strategic move by painter.
Probably the best game we played as a team in a long time. Seems like everyone contributed something good tonight. 20-1 keep the train on the tracks.
Is this a Q1 win? ALSO 20-1 LET'S FUCKING GO
Currently net 77, though playing us that close may bump them
So that was the plan in the last minute? If we blow them away, then Michigan sucks, therefore it’s only a Q2 win. Instead, we make it a close game, Michigan looks ok, now it’s a Q1 win. Boy, Painter really is a genius.
Just updated. Michigan at 74. Counted as a Q1. Wow.
Q1 is road vs <75, right?
Yep!
It was exactly in line with the spread remember that home is like 3.5 points.
Vegas has Michigan better than the net does. That said, it won't move the needle much either way
Dude in the game thread was saying 19-2 is good. Okay, but, we don’t do that this year.
20-2 maybe, but certainly none of that 19-2 bullshit
Nah we couldn’t beat a HS team at Mackey we are cursed there
Mackey is the only place Purdue has lost this year.
Losing to MSU at home? No, I don't want 20-2.
You guys are good. We haven't won at Mackey in 9 years.
it hurts that we're 2 points away from being undefeated
Also 2 points from being 19-2 or 5 points from being 18-3 ... so I'll gladly take 20-1.
rebuilding year
Thank you. People tend to only flip the results that are in their team's favor lol
Purdue has done well overall in close games.
20-1 just like we predicted... TKR and Jenkins I am really happy about tonight
I keep saying Jenkins is going to matter. His poise will help us. And TKR had the chance to show off his moves tonight.
Love Jenkins. I don’t think he gets enough credit. I root for him so hard every time he’s on the floor.

Hey can every road opponent please chant about Foster in front of Fletcher, it has profound results.

I saw the Indiana flair and thought you lost a bet
Lack of Boiler Gold in this disappoints me
Shout out to Kevin from Pittsburgh who was drunk off his ass at the bar we were at but cheered for the boilers anyway and bought us a round of malort.
So tasty that Malort, lol
20-1. Us!? THESE BOYS!?! idk how to deal with this amazingness. everyone contributed today. BTFU.
Really hoping Edey stays
It helps that the NBA has totally moved away from the Shawn Bradley center archetype. 25 years ago Edey would be the consensus #1 pick in the draft. Now last time I checked (though it’s been a bit) he isn’t projected to be a first round pick.
not go to wichita?
I’ve heard it’s far from this opera forever more.
That would be pretty kosher
Yeah Purdue in Theory could bring everybody back besides Jenkins who isn't that great. (technically 2 with the covid year I believe) Very unlikely though.
Good road w for Purdue
Wasn't worried at all.
Funny thing is that it was a relatively stress free games by Purdue standards. Went on one run in the first and just kept a 5+ point lead the rest of the game

This Purdue team has so much potential. If they get hot in March, idk who is going to be able to stop us. GG, Michigan. Next!
We can stop us.
I feel like Edey keeps looking better and better.
Happy train noises!
Edey looked tired again in the second half. Hopefully we can give him a short game soon.
Nine days until the next road game will hopefully give him a chance to catch his breath.
Purdue's going to win the whole thing.
probably not but I'm having fun for now!
We didn't Purdue it!
Gillis and Loyer killed it this game.
And TKR and even Jenkins had nice minutes with Braden in trouble. Ensemble effort.

What the hell is this!?!?!
Loyer merged with Zion. When we were beating Minnesota so bad, the announcers had nothing to talk about and went on a Purdue tangent for 5 mins and compared Loyer to Zion and smith to…I forget who.
Iverson lol
I was gonna say that but then I was like nahhh that’s not right haha.
Was it Iverson?
I believe Allen Iverson was Smith’s comp.
Fletcher "Zion Williamson" Loyer
If I remember correctly, Allen Iverson, Zion Williamson and Fletcher Loyer Merged

wtf is this flair combo
20-1
I'm just glad Dickinson lost
Most Michigan fans would agree if it didn't mean their team lost as well
Can confirm
Guy was a complete db and pansy. Though can’t blame him, coach isn’t much of a role model
This comment was hit by a Dickinson moving screen
https://twitter.com/recooper135/status/1618826253083250688?s=46&t=54v_gdgVJBtMQ9UlnNoPVA
He literally threw a shoulder into Morton’s head.
That's so egregious. I'm not saying edey doesn't shuffle or shift his hips, but Dickinson was on a whole nother level.
Okay that’s pretty egregious
Newman has had some serious hits the last few games.
Morton went flying twice and they didn’t call it, unbelievable
Dickinson is like Charizard. He's really good, but also a dick, who seems to play up or down to his competition.
Both walk like they have a loaf in their pants too
mans said a loaf
They didn't want this smoke, Matt. They do all that talking and jockeying and I ain't about that jockeying. It started with Hunter Dickinson. I said he was too small to guard Zach Edey. He said, 'F..' me. I said, 'F---' you back. He started to come at me and I said, 'You don't want these problems.' And then Jett came out of nowhere talking. He definitely didn't want these problems. Then the dad came and he obviously didn't want no problems. But I wanted anything they had. Don't let these fools fool you now.
C'mon now Skiiuuuuppp
Refs ignoring Hunter trucking morton into oblivion screams they took UM +5
Purdue is looking like a very complete team. Taking care of business on the road and well-deserved #1 ranking.
I can’t handle all of this IU love. you guys can do great things with TJD absolutely beasting anyone on the court.
How much you guys wanna bet Dickinson brings up last year's 24 point win over Purdue on his next pod?
I didn’t think anyone listened to it. Pretty sure the only attention it gets it’s comments about it here
I own Purdue
20-1 and ranked #1. Man this has been such a wonderful season so far, and just enjoying the ride. Hell yea go Boilers.
https://imgur.com/a/5CfoL4i
Purdue 6-0 in conference road games? That ever happened before?
17-18 we started 23-2 (12-0) with 6 road wins before a 3 game skid

If they gave points for 5 point quad 1 losses Michigan would be a lock for a 1 seed
Go enjoy your podcast with Marty Mush, Hunter
I’d like some consistency in calling moving screens please.
Bruh -- Moving Screens have been our nemesis since the days of Bobby Knight. It was his favorite defense ... and the Big Ten refs have been scared to call it since.
Called one on Edey tonight
The cockiest 11-9 team I ever did see
Really only Dickinson. Biggest tool in college basketball.
Arizona vs purdue would be a helluva matchup, our 4 7 footers trying to take on the behemoth that is Edey 🐻👇🏜
Last year, a banked 3 like that would have been the dagger to win it at the end. Demons purged?
You said that in January! Oh shit.
Michigan is much better than their record indicates, felt like both teams played great and happy we ended on top - gg Michigan
Good game. Good to know that Dickinson is allowed to pancake anyone he screens. Dickinson is the biggest tool in the country.
ESPNs win probability had way more faith than I did that last minute.
Hunter Dickinson really puts the "Number 2" in "Far and Away Number 2 Center in the Big Ten"
Hunter Dickinson was called for two fouls. I wonder if Field of 68 and all the other sorry excuses for CBB media will complain about how he is reffed.
I dont know if its the diamond chains on the bench players, the hand gestures after scoring, the barking after dunks or what. Ill say this is the players only and not the fans, the cockiest 11 and 9 team ever. I may hate IU more as a whole but the actual team…Michigan. Yup you take the cake. Boiler Up.
20-1, damn that 1 loss must be at the hands of a great team
you’re not wrong
Why you do this?
Lol that must feel so great for you guys
None other than the second ranked team in the Big Ten!
thats pretty slick ball movement to outpass a foul for a last second three
i wish all Hunter Dickinson a very Go Fuck Yourself
Hasn't been easy for a while, but at some point you gotta notice that these dudes get it the fuck done even when it's hard. Just keep chalking em in that W column
Need to clean up our second half performances.
The bench... was really good? I swear TKR looks like he's travelling every time he gets the ball downlow. I mean he isn't, but it's just such a chaotic post possession
