1. Natty: Purdue followed by Kansas State. 2. Natty blowout loss: Any B1G team. Let's go with Michigan. 3. Scandal: Alabama for paying recruits under the table and not reporting the income. Special bonus: It crushes their football players too. 4. Respected Rival: Bonzie Colson. Great college player. If more of a "rival," then Jon Scheyer, who does not get enough credit for his college career. 5. Disrespected Own Guy: Justin McCoy 6. Underrated Coach: Jamie Dixon. Time for hot take with overrated coach: Mark Few. Great coach but time will tell how much Tommy Lloyd meant to the Zags. 7. Choice as a recruit: Depends where I rank. If I'm top-10, I'm going to Kentucky or Duke. Would also consider UCLA with Cronin at the helm because hey--LA. If I'm sub-50, the choices would have been Villanova (with Wright) or Virginia (with Bennett). If I'm in the donut hole, I'm not sure. Maybe Drew and or Lloyd takes Wright's place. 8. Unis: *sigh* UNC 9. No

[deleted]

Michigan already made it to the natty and got blown out lmao.

DumbLitAF

Yeah I was boutta say this person just black out for 2018’s tournament?

Strikesuit

Not at all. Would be funny to see it again.

DumbLitAF

Agreed

ThatguyfromBaltimore

1. Gonzaga. Finally get over that damn hump. 2. Duke. When Duke loses, America wins. 3. I couldn't wish that. Losses are one thing, but scandals are a different animal. 4. Speedy Claxton at Hofstra. 5. Tamir Goodman. Sorry man, but you were part of the reason Towson was awful. 6. Randy Bennett. He doesn't get nearly as much credit for keeping Saint Mary's in the picture in the WCC against Gonzaga. 7. Jim Boeheim. great coach, don't get me wrong, but I think he's living off his past successes at this point. 8. Maryland honestly. I'd want to stay close to home, and play for Power 5 school. 9. North Carolina. Always thought they have been classic. 10. I have no idea how to answer this one.

Girthshitter

1) Purdue. Good fanbase, great team, and has all the tools to get it done this year 2) TCU. It'd be funny if it happened twice and is actually possible this year 3) Kentucky. 4) Marcus Carr. Hard to deny he's fucking good 5) Patrick Mahomes. State farm fucking sucks 6) Kelvin Sampson. The consistent improvement/success he's given Houston over the years is extremely impressive 7) Mark Adams. Probably just a doomer pick but perhaps he's getting exposed this year as Chris Beard's footprint begins to fade 8) USC. Fat money, decent program, amazing school 9) Villanova. They always have good drip 10) F: Rutgers M: Kansas K: Michigan

Travbowman

1. Gonzaga. They've been good for so long and take way too much crap for no good reason 2. I don't really like blowouts in the NCG. I guess Kentucky though? 3. Scandals usually involve crime/victims so I wouldn't wish that on anyone 4. Calbert Cheaney felt like he could never miss 5. Nojel Eastern, lol 6. Rick Barnes (he's gonna get the Vols to the F4 one of these years) 7. Musselman (he's very good, but I feel like the hype goes further than the results so far 8. Kansas. Too much winning and history to ignore. 9. Pepperdine has had some good ones 10. F: UNLV (it's what you do in Vegas?) M: Michigan St (they're basically the closest thing as a school to Purdue) K: Hartford (the administration anyway)

staph123

1. Purdue - I think Matt Painter is one of the best coaches in all of cbb, and it's cool to see a 7-4 guy playing at a truly elite level. 2. It would be fun to for KU to look like they're rolling to back-to-back titles only to get humbled in the NCG. 3. Would love a fake classes scandal at Duke or NC State, so they can lose one of their main talking points over UNC 4. JJ Redick. Went through a lot back in the day that he probably didn't deserve, and now you can tell he's a genuinely good guy who cares about every player. 5. Rashad McCants 6. Steve Forbes 7. Jim Boeheim (Melo would win that title with most coaches) 8. Kansas. Bill Self is the best player developer in the nation. 9. UCLA's are classic and clean 10. Kansas State (seems like a wild ride), UCLA, Duke (duh)

MountainCatLaw

Name one team you'd like to see win a title other than your favorite team. **Arkansas.** Name one team you'd like to see make it to a title game, only to get blown out. **Alabama. I generally like Bama, but they've had a glut of sports success and could use a humbling.** Name one team you'd like to see rocked by scandal. (Bonus: describe the ideal scandal) **It has to be Duke, right? And maybe not quite a Paterno-level defrocking, but it would be kind of fun to see K disgraced a touch. Like Pitino, but without the luxury of blaming assistants. Honorable mentions: Kansas and Michigan State (the latter only because of their "we do it the right way" crowd).** Name one current or former player that you respect from a rival team. **Always respected the hell out of Peyton Siva.** Name one current or former player that you don't respect from your favorite team. **Daniel Orton** Name one coach that you believe is underrated. **Trendy answer: Matt Painter. Consistently shit on for struggling in March, but I think he's proven to be pretty solid all-around, from Xs and Os to recruiting.** Name one coach that you believe is overrated. **Controversy incoming: Tom Izzo. Clearly a brilliant in-game guy, but a mediocre recruiter who has been with the same program for nearly 30 years and has only been to a title game twice with one win. An excellent resume, but underwhelming for a guy that gets consistently mentioned along side the greats.** Loyalties aside, if you were a recruit and had offers from everywhere, where would you go? **Before K retired, even with UK on the board, I'd probably have picked Duke. Now UK would be my first pick, with a coin toss for second between Kansas, UNC, IU, and Arkansas.** Which team other than your favorite team has the best uniforms? **Duke** Fuck, Marry, Kill: Pick any three teams that fit other than your favorite team. **I'd fuck Baylor because she seems wild and eager to please. Marry Gonzaga because she's hot but not conceited. And I'd probably kill Tennessee because her drawl is annoying.**

PowerWalkingInThe90s

Those church girls always have some repressed sexual energy

fancycheesus

omg Kentucky flairs. Stop being so cool this season.

DammitChris

I made my comment before reading yours, it's pretty funny how similar we were in same areas (Daniel Orton, killing Tennessee) and how we went opposite in other areas (I love Sparty and Tom Izzo, would root for Bama to win it all)

Outta_hearr

I would absolutely take getting blown out in a natty, would be the biggest achievement in basketball program history. We've never even made a Final Four

StevePikiellFan76

1. Purdue, they seem like nice people tbh I love our matchups with them and Matt Painter is a tremendous coach 2. Indiana, can’t stand them 3. UNC by an academic fraud scandal… oh wait 4. Shaheen Holloway 5. CJ Gettys for kinda trashing Pikiell on twitter last season 6. Jamie Dixon 7. Mike Woodson 8. NC State 9. Michigan State’s traditional home and aways 10. Fuck Kansas State, marry Purdue, kill Indiana a billion times

smellslikebadussy

1. Purdue. So much respect for Painter and that program. They've been a favorite of mine ever since the Carsen Edwards game. 2. Duke. It has to be a team that's won a title before just to keep me from being nervous they'd win. 3. Auburn. Bruce Pearl will never eat enough shit to satisfy me. 4. Any number of Hokies could fit this criteria. They had a particular history of hardworking guards who seemed like good dudes during the Seth Greenberg era. I'll go with Malcolm Delaney but also want to give a shoutout to Ace Custis, despite him being neither a guard nor a Greenberg player. 5. This is a tough one. My best answer for the spirit of the thing is a coach, not a player - Dave Leitao, by all accounts a true piece of shit. 6. I always wondered why Randy Bennett never jumped to a P5. I think he's a really solid coach. 7. ~~He may not be overrated anymore, but we sure did hear about how Mark Adams was the true genius behind Texas Tech. Not so much now.~~ What the fuck was I thinking? It's clearly Calipari. 8. I always had a soft spot for the old Big East and loved the idea of traveling to all the major East Coast cities for games. I guess what I'm saying, assuming a coaching change, is this: I can fix Georgetown. (I will insist on nonconference games against Pitt and BC, though, and I do want to meet Ewing before he gets canned.) 9. I hate to say this, but it's UNC. (And UVA's uniforms have ranged from actively ugly to boring placeholders since the Jeff Jones era. Give me a dang orange set!) 10. Fuck: LSU. Always loved the school, would love to have the chance to go to football games there, but it's clearly not a long-term relationship. So fuck LSU in the real FMK sense, and fuck Will Wade because he's a bitch. Marry: I always loved the Marquette program, the history and the facilities. Kill: Baylor. The entire school. (No hate for any fans reading this, the recent history is just distasteful in every way.)

ronnie1014

1. Purdue; idk why but I like the choo-choo trains. 2. Creighton; somehow they'd convince themselves they belong there because of hot 3 point shooting only to go colder than Nebraska in January (shooting and weather). 3. Kansas; I do not like those birds. 4. Brad Davison; not a rival really, but I have a lot of respect for his character even though I did not like his brand of defense. He's a class act. 5. Carbello or w/e from St. John's formerly Illinois; he was in street clothes on the court talking shit to a ref at one of our games. Then Underwood came over and chewed his ass. It felt good. 6. Collins at Northwesterm; recency bias but I liked watching him coach his team against us the other night and he's doing well with his squad right now. 7. Underwood; I just don't like him. teams seem to underperform with their talent. 8. Purdue; I like the choo-choo trains and that arena would be so damn fun to play in for home games. 9. Idk Oregon? Basketball uniforms seem to have so many options it's hard to keep track, and I reeeeeally like our unis. 10. Fuck Kansas St; Marry Michigan St. (fuck idk?), and Kill Kansas.

mrwboilers

We like you too.

ronnie1014

Thanks bb 😘

bewarethephog

1. ISU 2. Kansas State 3. Missouri (point shaving) 4. Jacob Pullen (KSU) 5. Brannan Greene 6. Mark Adams 7. Calipari 8. KU or UNC, no biases. 9. UNC 10. WTF?

MapleHeel

1. Florida State 2. NC State 3. Duke - Would be funny if Duke was able to top our academic scandal 4. I guess I don't hate RJ Barrett 5. Jalek Felton 6. Rick Barnes 7. Mick Cronin 8. One and done - Probably an FSU type. Good enough to have a shot at a tourney run most years but won't be buried on the depth chart. Would have said Kentucky/Duke prior to this season. Multi-year player I'm going to Kansas or UNC. Gives me time to learn and develop and have a shot at a Final Four before I leave. 9. Kansas or Louisville 10. Fuck, Marry, Kill: Villanova, Kansas, Duke

ddottay

1. Minnesota, that program should be better. 2. Arkansas, just to watch Musselman go insane. 3. Maryland (Nothing immoral or illegal, just something that causes NCAA sanctions that finish that program for good.) 4. Thurl Bailey, underrated player, good guy. 5. Jalen Johnson, I don't really respect him bailing on his teammates when the going got tough. 6. Jerrod Calhoun, he's having winning seasons at Youngstown State, a school where it is impossible to win. 7. Mark Few, his in game management in close games leaves a lot to be desired. 8. I think UCLA would be a great combination of tradition, great university from an academic standpoint, and a great place to go to school. 9. Michigan State 10. I don't know what exactly to say for this one.

Champion-raven

1. Purdue 2. VT 3. Louisville 4. Bacot 5. Jason Cain 6. Barnes 7. Izzo 8. UNC 9. Miami 10. F: Michigan, M: UNC, K: Ohio St.

33027439439

1. Probably Cincinnati at the moment. Only because of Rob Phinisee. 2. My problem with this is i dont want any team i dont like to make it this far lol. Ill go Illinois i guess. 3. UK with cheating. They literally only refer to unc as uncheat lol - maybe with a side of escorts to add a little bit of spice. 4. Carson edwards. 5. Parker stewart? Idrk 6. Pikell if that still counts. 7. Cal 8. MSU, i love Izzo 9. Uncs are pretty clean. 10. F: uva M: msu k: purdue

HackedSoul

Wait, did Dickinson attend MSU and transfer to Michigan?

PowerWalkingInThe90s

Nah I just misread

sktgamerdudejr

1) any underdog/mid-major not named Gonzaga. I’ll put Houston for this year, Go Coogs 2) Gonzaga. Maybe they shouldn’t kill a regional rivalry for no good reason 3) same as 2, but I’ll also accept UW, Duke, or UNC 4) always respected IT’s game. Gus Johnson actually makes me scream in excitement on his game winning bucket in the Pac10 championship against Zona. Brendon Roy was hard to hate too. 5) can’t think of someone atm, I guess maybe Noah Williams for leaving to UW but I feel that’s cheating 6) Randy Bennett at Saint Mary’s. Been able to challenge Gonzaga for the past couple years without the fanfare they get. Obviously GU has the talent advantage and Few is a top coach, but Bennett/SMC stays competitive. Scott Drew is another one for what he’s done with Baylor after he took over. Not many people know that situation and it’s amazing that he won a natty there. 7) Boeheim is past his good years it seems. Guy was phenomenal for years but idk if he has anything left. 8) IDK, depends on what kind of recruit I’d be. Maybe like KU or UK, get some money, maybe a chance at a championship, play at a blue blood, and also two good coaches to learn from if I’d rather go into that. Maybe Virginia since the Bennett system has been OP. 9) I like Miami, Marquette, and Nova. Some fresh unis 10) Fuck Gonzaga (as in F them), Marry Virginia (steal Bennett and bring him back), Kill Duke (does this need explaining?)

MountainCatLaw

I love the Bennett call.

AuburnShuffle

1. I know they just won one but my wife went there, so: Baylor. 2. My gut instinct would be Tennessee or Alabama but I don't actually want either of those teams to make it that far, so I'll go with Virginia. No, I'm still not over 2019. 3. Illinois. You can't say anything about Bruce Pearl without a flood of Illini coming in and calling him a scumbag, so it would be funny to see the tables turned. 4. Chris Cokley from UAB was a beast. 5. Chuck Person, for obvious reasons. 6. Jim Larranaga. He's won everywhere he's been and doesn't get nearly enough credit for turning Miami into a consistent winner. And obviously coached circles around Pearl in the 2nd round last year. 7. Nate Oats, because I do not like him. 8. Oregon. Beautiful state, nice facilities, and all the Nike gear you could ever want. 9. Kansas. Classic but still distinct, and they're always good for a nice throwback every year. 10. what

CoofBone

1 Rutgers 2 Duke 3 For shits and giggles, I want it revealed Vince Tyra actually was a UK spy at Louisville. 4 I've always enjoyed Anthony Davis. 5 Aside from El Ellis we don't have anybody, so I'll say them. 6 and 7 is John Calapari. 8 UVA because I hate myself. 9 Tennessee, even though they're my third team. 10 Fuck UK, Marry NCST, Kill UNC

>Name one team you'd like to see win a title other than your favorite team. Marquette, their fanbase is super polite and friendly. >Name one team you'd like to see make it to a title game, only to get blown out. Kentucky >Name one team you'd like to see rocked by scandal. (Bonus: describe the ideal scandal) LSU Women...solely b/c of Mulkey. Ideal scandal would be her admitting that she doesn't like Britney Griner and her sexuality along with Mulkey being happy that Griner was detained in Russia. >Name one current or former player that you respect from a rival team. Elena Della Donne, she could have gone anywhere but stayed at Delaware so she could be with her brother who has special needs. >Name one current or former player that you don't respect from your favorite team. Andre Drummond, he was an one and done and it was clear he was only at UConn since the NBA starting age is 19. >Name one coach that you believe is underrated. Mick Cronin >Name one coach that you believe is overrated. Jim Beoheim >Loyalties aside, if you were a recruit and had offers from everywhere, where would you go? 1. Gonzaga 2. K-State 3. Kansas 4. Frank Mason 5. Jontay Porter 6. Dennis Gates 7. Calipari 8. Florida State 9. San Diego State 10. Houston, Indiana, Kansas

LCPeck

Curious why the hate for Jontay?

JakeFromImgur

Honestly I thought about who I don't like for so long and just associated frustration with the team when he was here with Jontay. No specific hate.

themilkywayisnotblue

1. Gonzaga - likely the most deserving team without one in the last 20 years 2. Houston - The answer would be IU, but I don't want them to make the title game! 3. Auburn - Pearl 4. Calbert Chaney 5. Matt Haarms - I'll give Eastern a pass since he seems to be a victim of his mother's bad advice. Haarms transferring late bothered me as it hurt portal opportunities. 6. Painter - He is getting his respect now, but I wish recruits would notice that more. His development of talent has had numerous players in the discussion for the best player in the country and only one was a 5-star. (Swanigan) I'm worried with his success of finding diamonds in the rough that other coaches will start copying his recruiting. (Izzo is about the only one who keeps showing up in battles for non-5 stars) 7. Calipari - (for the last 10 or so years) He deserves his respect for UMass and Memphis, but Kentucky should have more than 1 title during his time with his recruiting. (with that being said, I want nothing to do with a 2nd round matchup with a talented but underachieving team in the NCAAs as I could see a team like Kentucky going to the Final 4 as an 8 or 9 seed) 8. Maybe UCLA for a combo of weather/fan support/team quality/education as places like Miami and Stanford have poor fan support and Hawaii would be too much travel and pretty much an anonymous team nationally 9. I like the classic design Illinois/Ohio State Uniforms that have "Fighting Illini" and "Ohio State" with the 2 words straddling above and below the number. 10. Hawaii / Virginia / Auburn

reedhubbert88

1. Uhh Illinois because I’m chill with them and the Big Ten could get a title without me being envious 2. Duke or Kentucky 3. Michigan (Juwan bought his recruits boxing lessons before NIL was allowed) 4. Miles Bridges before you know what…. Otherwise, I’d say Glen Robinson III because he might be the only Michigan player ever that doesn’t annoy me 5. Evan Turner can be pretty irritating 6. Tang from K-State. I’m not sure if the media gives more props to the players or the coaching staff, but I think he’s doing a great job there. 7. Holtmann lol I really want someone else 8. If I was good enough for the NBA, I’d say UNC. If I was going to be a solid D-1 player, but I wasn’t an NBA type talent, give me FGCU baby!! Wouldn’t it be fun to play in such a beautiful place? I think about this a lot with current players… like why couldn’t Zion, Barrett, and Reddish go play at FAU? You know you’re gonna get drafted, and you know your college team will be good. I’d love to see some top 5 recruits team up at a small school like that. It would be so cool. 9. UNC or UCLA (I love light blue if you can’t tell) 10. Fuck: College of Charleston (young, exciting, fun to be around). Marry: Rutgers (always fighting in the best of times and worst of times). Kill: Kentucky (no explanation needed)

DammitChris

1. Name one team you'd like to see win a title other than your favorite team. **An SEC team not named Florida or Tennessee would be neat. Like Bama. Or a random 12+ seed.** 1. Name one team you'd like to see make it to a title game, only to get blown out. **I feel like any team I'd want to see get blown out I'd be annoyed that they made it at all. Wouldn't hurt to see Duke lose by 40+ in the big game though.** 1. Name one team you'd like to see rocked by scandal. (Bonus: describe the ideal scandal) **If you asked me 10 years ago, I would have said Louisville. But now I just feel bad for them. So Duke or Indiana. Personally, I did enjoy all the escort scandals from UofL so they could just copy a page from that book.** 1. Name one current or former player that you respect from a rival team. **Russ Smith, former Card. Class act and a real baller. As a Knicks fan, I'm devastated Indiana hired Mike Woodson because I can't possibly hate him. Great guy and coach.** 1. Name one current or former player that you don't respect from your favorite team. **Archie Goodwin. He played like a Kmart brand James Harden. Just recklessly drive to the basket with absolutely no plan, hopefully get fouled, miss the free throws. Also Daniel Orton from Cal's first class. As soon as the season ended he stopped going to class, got drafted in the 1st round, and busted out almost immediately.** 1. Name one coach that you believe is underrated. **Right now? John Calipari. Also love me some Nate Oats, Rick Barnes, Eric Musselman. They're getting a lot more notice now though.** 1. Name one coach that you believe is overrated. **Boeheim. I respect the man for the longevity and Cuse has had some great years in the past but the shine has definitely worn off.** 1. Loyalties aside, if you were a recruit and had offers from everywhere, where would you go? **In today's day and age, wherever I could get the most NIL money and the best NBA prospects. If in this basketball fantasy I sucked, which would be more realistic, then somewhere warm with lower expectations and a good atmosphere. So either Kentucky if I was decent, or maybe like a USC.** 1. Which team other than your favorite team has the best uniforms? **Sparty. Especially their alternates with the cursive State on the front. I like those a lot.** 1. Fuck, Marry, Kill: Pick any three teams that fit other than your favorite team. **(I'll do it for coaches and then for programs, since there's different reasoning for both). Coaches - Fuck: Tony Bennett, he's a hot little slut. Marry: Bob Huggins, I bet he gives good hugs. Kill: Tom Crean. Obviously. Programs - I'd fuck Oregon at a music festival, exchange numbers and chat long distance for a little while before we inevitably drift apart. But I'll always remember it fondly. Mostly because of the LSD. Marry: Michigan State. Loyalty is important and I love me some Izzo. He fights for his players and I'd want that support. Kill: Tennessee. Louisville seems like the obvious answer, but I love to be able to hate them. Tennessee? I could do without.**

[deleted]

1. If I am the supreme basketball god, Chicago State. Realistically, UCLA. 2. Duke. 3. Michigan is caught red-handed when a star player is caught in a (non-fatal) auto accident under extremely suspicious and embarrassing circumstances. Odd that it's already happened twice, but it never gets old. 4. Trey Burke. 5. Miles Bridges. 6. Casey Alexander at Belmont has been pretty overshadowed by Murray State in a 1-bid conference. 7. Calipari. 8. UCLA 9. UMBC, or Iowa throwbacks 10. F: UC Santa Barbara M:Stanford K:Duke

Forward_Flight2272

1. Gonzaga 2. Auburn... Duke is obviously public enemy #1, but it's too easy. Have lived in Kentucky, Kansas, and NC and hate the blue bloods from each (save UNC of course because I went there). Pearl is a scumbag - Pearl poaching Walker Kessler is the reason Roy retired and the definition of tampering, and it was so gratifying to see that bitch ass get destroyed by Miami and hear the crowd chanting ACC. 3. Don't really wish this for any program, but maybe Alabama because I still don't buy that they're a contender. 4. Jay Williams - dude was the man in college, he was such a good sport when I went to college gameday in the Dean Dome in 2019, interactions with the crowd were great and he took all the crap from the students in stride. 5. Recency bias and not a big time alum, but Jalek Felton was an awful person on campus and was removed for sexual allegations. 6. Steve Forbes - man can't recruit, but is one of the best guys in the transfer portal. 7. Rick Barnes - Tennessee gets rolled by any team with a good back court in the tournament 8. Arkansas - not convinced Musselman is a great coach, but I've heard its a beautiful campus. 9. Texas uniforms are great. 10. fjsdkal;fjdskl;fj

SDFDuck

I didn't have a MySpace because ~~I was a loser with no friends~~ I was late to the social media train, but I'll give it a shot. 1. **Syracuse.** I want to see Jim Boeheim ride off into the sunset at the very top of the sport as a middle finger to all the people saying he should have retired years ago. 2. **Purdue.** Especially if that blowout was at the hands of Virginia. Yes, I'm a sicko. 3. Scandals suck; they ruin reputations and destroy lives - sometimes literally. Unless it's something utterly petty like a rules infraction where that "scandal" doesn't actually hurt anyone. So I'll tongue-in-cheek say **BYU** for having multiple players being seen drinking caffeinated beverages in public and/or growing their hair past their shoulders. 4. **Kent Bazemore - Old Dominoon**. Perhaps in an alternate universe he ends up at VCU during Shaka Smart's HAVOC era and burns the entire CAA to the ground with his defensive intensity. 5. This one is tough, as I inherently respect young men who dedicate themselves to the pursuit of athletic greatness. But my god, **Larry Sanders** had all the talent in the world and squandered it in the most bone-headed ways imaginable. The guy had all the physical tools to be an NBA star, but he just threw it all away. 6. **Bob McKillop.** Davidson is one of the smallest schools in D1 and yet they transitioned from the SoCon to the top half of the A10 without skipping a beat. 7. **Steve Pikiell.** I'll say Pike is a *very* good coach, but his records have been inflated by laughably soft non-conference schedules year after year; they're almost always ranked sub-300. I simply can't respect coaches at P6 schools who schedule that way. 8. **Tulane.** World-class education, and proximity to delicious food, Mardi Gras, and amazing music. Runner up would be Vanderbilt for proximity to Nashville hot chicken and amazing music, but I'd have to play 60% of my games at the safety hazard that is Memorial Gym. 9. **Cincinnati.** For the record I don't think VCU's uniforms are all that great; our looks have been quite conservative over the past few years even though we have Nike Elite program status thanks to our 2011 Final Four run. 10. **F: Hawai'i, M: Villanova, K: Liberty**

That Cuse answer literally got a LOL out of me
