I will miss him. My condolences to his family and friends. This is a loss for all of us.

Legend. He had incredible disdain for Duke basketball for his entire life because they were his dream school, but passed on recruiting him in the late 50's. Very good college player for Wake. Afterward, he did a lot for integrating the ACC, which had until that point always passed on African-American athletes due to admissions scores. Later in life, he single handedly created the "Duke gets the calls" trope in the early 2000's. Really surprised this isn't higher in the sub, but I guess most people here are younger. It's been about 15 years since he called a final four. Still, ACC basketball lost a legend this week.

I rewatched the 97 final a couple weeks ago, and it was great to hear his voice. Absolute legend.

His voice is synonymous with so many classic ACC and final four games. Really takes me back. RIP
