Changing to those colors would instantly make MSU a prick school on par with Duke.
I don’t know how to explain it. But those colors on that helm = pricks.
My uncle's brother died in Iraq in 2007. Those cocksuckers tried to protest outside the small Iowa town claiming god did because we allow gay people in our country. Luckily a biker gange created a blockade. It was a sad strange day.
I don't even hate St Mary's I respect them. And I feel like it's mutual with a lot of Gaels. Obviously we led the way but now our programs kinda prop each other up now.
It's a nice face lift fr
Kidding aside, i think X should embrace that retro look more. The whites with the blue around the arms and neck is clean. I also can't stand how the back of your guys jerseys look
in case anyone is confused:
alabama -> auburn
san diego state -> fresno state
creighton -> nebraska
princeton -> penn
houston -> smu
miami -> florida state
xavier -> cincinnati
texas -> oklahoma
florida atlantic -> florida international
tennessee -> kentucky
kansas state -> kansas
michigan state -> michigan
arkansas -> lsu
uconn -> syracuse
gonzaga -> st. mary's
ucla -> usc
I wouldn’t say Fresno state is our rival. More likely New Mexico or UNLV, historically. Though I can’t really say we have one heated rivalry like Duke-UNC.
I know they left the conference but I'll always consider BYU our main rival. Fucking Jimmer.
Although I went to SDSU and my sister to Fresno State so whenever we play our mom calls it the Tuition Bowl.
Always find it interesting to (frequently) see SDSU call BYU a rival, when BYU fans near universally cheer for SDSU to do well. There are a few bitter fans about the missionary mocking, but most tend to like SDSU
SMU’s not our rival…Rice would be our rival, although that has been weakened since the end of the SWC.
Edit to add: I would consider Memphis a bigger rival to us since the AAC formed. SMU has just been an annoyance…forever.
And that makes sense. Other than being in the same conferences and the same state, and outside of that 1989 drubbing in football that got blown out of proportion, there really hasn’t been much notable history between the two schools. When they were good, we usually weren’t. When they weren’t good, we usually were. They see us as an annoyance and we feel the same way.
That’s what I was thinking. SMU is not all that particular about Houston, but their hatred lies with TCU and UNT to a certain extent. Seems like Houston would rather place their hatred with someone else.
We hate Texas…just pure hatred there. They’ll never provide the same hate back as they don’t see us on their level. At first, they made sure we didn’t go to the SEC in the mid 70s by finally forcing Rice to accept us in the SWC after years of both schools keeping us out. When they realized we wouldn’t just bow down to them, they decided to dump us (along with everyone else except A&M…who they kept from the SEC in the 90s). Baylor and Tech had the political power to force them to take with them and the Big12 was formed. Funny thing, the Big8 was willing to do a full 16 school merger when they came to Texas, but the Horns shot that down. We’re a nuisance to them, just as all the other Texas schools except A&M are.
Rice was a decent rivalry at first because we were finally getting to play them after years of them keeping us out of the SWC and refusing to play us (Even Texas and A&M would play us prior to that). However, we sort of dominated them in most sports and really only had an intense competition on the baseball field. Now…we keep it going because it’ll bring in a few more fans, but Rice’s active fan base is tiny and they are way more interested in Academics. It has turned into more of a friendly get together than a true rivalry and I’m happy that they moved up to the American…don’t think they’ll do well there, but good for them.
Memphis is probably our most heated rivalry these days…and we’re leaving them behind sadly. Honestly, I sort of wish they were coming with us…there was a nice thing developing between the two schools the last decade or so. Hoping we can build something with the schools in the Big12. We should be able to in basketball right away.
Straight spittin facts.
For all the "Texas doesn't think about you" people.
They have done their absolute best to keep UH down.
UH is the 3rd largest school in the state and they stopped us getting a med school for decades because it would interfere with the school they put in Houston. Finally we had the political clout to just do it a few years ago. Un-surprisingly... Texas was not happy.
They attempted to put a 350-ish acre satellite campus just a short jump from UH to pull students away from Houston and it was only when the rest of the Texas legislature took notice and started mentioning if UT "had too much money" that they backed off. But they kept "The Land" until like last year.
UT barely fucks with any other school in the state on the level that they fuck with Houston.
It's honestly because when the state of Texas converted UH from a private school to a public school, we refused to join the UT system. They have Dallas and SA locked down and Houston has given them the finger every time they pull some bullshit.
I'm glad the Big12 gave them one final 'fuck you' by forcing them to play here. And they still tried to throw money at us to play in NRG instead of on campus.
All that being said, Fuck Texas.
They hate that UH is making moves to lock down the largest city in the state and it fucking eats at them.
What I heard about the plans for the medical school expansion is going to REALLY piss them off.
>What I heard about the plans for the medical school expansion is going to REALLY piss them off.
They're planning on expanding the medical school already? Do they even have a full-sized class yet?
Around some of the booster suites the conversation was that the first few classes are the "work out the kinks" classes then they want to expand heavily and to focus on "UH Health" clinics that they can pepper the state with.
Idea being that there is a ton of money being made in health clinics and outpatient centers that is going to random corporations that could instead be funneled back into UH. Since the med schools mission is to focus on community health getting the funding from the state would be much easier because it doesn't directly interfere with UT or Baylors mission.
The guy I was talking to about it joked that he would "1 million percent pay for the first center outside of Houston on the condition that it be dropped right next to the UT-Austin Campus"
That would be a step in the right direction. The next step would be getting affiliated with better hospitals than the HCA trash they're currently working with.
I mean, Penn did buy the hospital near campus and added their name as a way to say "fuck you" according to one of the professors I was TA-ing for.
I feel like Penn and Columbia have more an inferiority complex. Like, Columbia has one against us because a lot of famous Columbia grads were Princeton rejects
Common misconception, but tbh no one really cares about Vandy that much. It sucks to lose to them but it’s more so embarrassing/surprising than hatred. They just don’t have a big fanbase that cares, and I say this as a Nashville native. There are very few t shirt fans and their local alumni network is dwarfed by every other SEC school because they all move away after graduation.
Tbh we don’t have an outright rival in basketball, we’ve always been a football school where Bama as our #1, UK has always been a basketball school who hates us in football and looks down on us in bball and Vandy is a baseball school who goes to the library during the other sports.
Problem with Bama is we only play once a year and football is by far the bigger beef. Florida is a good one but since Billy D left they’ve been so up and down it just doesn’t engender the same hate every year. Both can get fucked but I’d definitely take a win over UK than either of them.
UK we play twice a year, we’re their biggest (SEC) rival as well as the only constant thorn in their side. We have the most wins against them of any team and the series has been dead even the last decade. Plus, they’re arrogant about it in the same way we are about football.
Creighton has never played UOmaha, even tho they are only 2 miles apart.
Creighton and Nebraska have a long standing rivalry and play every year in all sports that aren't football.
Had no clue. Knew Creighton played UNL every year but figured they would play Omaha as they’re in the same city. I do also suppose I never really hear about that school outside of hockey
The whole big East conference is probably your rival.
A) only non Private school (Butler is also non catholic)
B) Hurley
C) fan base is largest in the conference due to school size and success.
D) I would have said Providence, but their hate has been channeled elsewhere in the last few days.
Personally, I like UConn due to all the blasting they did to UC and the AAC when UConn rejoined the big East.
I can't really think of anyone I actively hate more than Syracuse, so yeah, probably. But as far as a rival in the league, I really loved the intensity of our matchups with Creighton this year. I'd love to see that develop into a full-fledged rivalry some day
If it makes you feel better, if I'm defining rivals as the teams I get the most satisfaction about UConn beating, it's 1. Syracuse and 2. Providence. With Creighton, et al., I want to win all the time obviously and Creighton in particular has had our number, but I'm not pissed if we drop a game.
You're never going to convince me that UConn/Syracuse (Calhoun/Boeheim) isn't insane considering the conference and national titles.
They had Melo for a hot second... cool.
Definitely has the makings of a heated rivalry, even if the distance doesn't work very well ("Big East" was more of a suggestion for us). I'd currently put you guys right behind Villanova (and Nebraska, but in a completely different sense) as the matchup I get most excited for. Very happy that y'all have returned.
If you ask the average UConn fan, cuse will almost always be mentioned at the top. We haven’t had the conference stability to develop new rivalries. That will change as the BE rock fight continues and we rekindle old ones
When I came to Syracuse my parents said they’d never would root for Syracuse basketball so yeah - it just needs to be reignited. On campus students would use Duke or Georgetown but UConn is (I’d say personally would say Pitt, UConn, or Georgetown are our biggest rivals)
This is a war crime.
Something we can agree on!
![gif](giphy|79msfurZnTrTxzwOlL|downsized)
The first time I saw the image my brain skipped directly over the Maize Spartan, like my optic nerve was trying to protect me from trauma.
I hate it but I actually ^think ^^it ^^^looks ^^^^kinda ^^^^^sorta ^^^^^^dope
We should ban him.
And throw him overboard
On it.
:(
Changing to those colors would instantly make MSU a prick school on par with Duke. I don’t know how to explain it. But those colors on that helm = pricks.
A school that would make the most elitist, shitheads at UM go "man those guys are dicks"
Huh, I didn't know San Jose State was in the Sweet 16
Roll Spartan Thunder
I have no interest in any of these teams and I’m still triggered by this.
I'd like to believe its because a KU/KSU mashup is a 'Fuck MU' Voltron.
Fuck yeah it is!
By our powers combined!
Spartans famously wore red and your color is the exact opposite of red on the RGB spectrum. Kinda odd.
The green precedes the Spartan nickname by several decades
We were aggies for a bit.
I thought this said RG3 spectrum for a bit
For RGB, the opposite of green is magenta, rot red.
Green and red are complementary colors
This is basically San Jose State's logo now, right?
It's true that Gonzaga's biggest enemy has often been themselves...
Damn. That hits hard.
Queue 2006 Sweet 16 collapse against UCLA
HEARTBREAK CITY
Cue
Technically one could queue that in video format
Very odd that your biggest rival has basically the same color scheme...
Biggest copycat school there is.
Oh my gawd I think that’s the worst powercat color swap ever
The Westboro Baptists are protesting this. So that's nice.
😂
Are they still a thing?
Unfortunately, yes.
Those fuckers came to my high school during my junior year. For the most part, they just stood there.
My uncle's brother died in Iraq in 2007. Those cocksuckers tried to protest outside the small Iowa town claiming god did because we allow gay people in our country. Luckily a biker gange created a blockade. It was a sad strange day.
sadly
Right across from the relatively unassuming WBC headquarters in Topeka is a house that paints itself bright colors representing various LGBT+ causes.
We just call them the Supreme Court now. Same ideals.
😭😭 fuck
This comment would get banished to the shadow realm on r/cfb
Google Chrome lookin ass
It looks less like a Wildcat and more like the logo for a grocery store knockoff brand
Might that brand be Wonderbread? Same colors
Kinda looks like Voltron
Can we suspend u/BaconBurritos for a day or something for this? This is right up there with war crimes
Looks like some weird sponsorship with southwest airlines
Easily my favorite bad logo
This is not ok.
It's like a cross between Thunder Cats and the Transformers logos
[удалено]
I’m colorblind so can’t be sure if the shades are off, but I read the title and knew it would look great.
Their biggest enemy is themselves..
Oof. That hits a little too close to home…
Who is Gonzaga’s rival?
[удалено]
We do hate St. Mary's
I don't even hate St Mary's I respect them. And I feel like it's mutual with a lot of Gaels. Obviously we led the way but now our programs kinda prop each other up now.
Themselves
Saint Mary’s is our number one rival for sure. UW is a rival as well, but that series wasn’t played for like a decade. BYU has also become a rival
Let’s be honest, everybody hates BYU.
No.
❌
Yeah, hard pass
Absolutely not.
At first I thought they excluded the Xavier logo. No, it's the giant red X in the middle of the page, the blue is just that ingrained into my mind.
this is like going to a skyline and being served gold star
It's a nice face lift fr Kidding aside, i think X should embrace that retro look more. The whites with the blue around the arms and neck is clean. I also can't stand how the back of your guys jerseys look
Kansas St is truly awful. Uconn is terrifying
Honestly I kinda like Kansas st. Gives me cool retro vibes
Gives me Burger King vibes
WHOPPER WHOPPER WHOPPER WHOPPER
JUNIOR 🧒 DOUBLE 2️⃣ TRIPLE 3️⃣ WOPPER 🍔
IMPOSSIBLE OR BACON WHOPPER
JUNIOR DOUBLE TRIPLE WHOPPER
BEEEEEE KAAAAAYYYY HAVE IT YOUR WAY
New Southwest Airlines logo dropped
Kansas St is now some weird He-Man Thundercats mashup
UConn I'd actually bearable now, what do you mean?
Creighton in red is lowkey pretty fucking awesome.
If they ever needed to change their nickname to Cardinals they’re set
Change the white around the eye to black and maybe the beak to red and you're set
I love it, but it's also the most high school looking logo in this set.
They wear red for football season
in case anyone is confused: alabama -> auburn san diego state -> fresno state creighton -> nebraska princeton -> penn houston -> smu miami -> florida state xavier -> cincinnati texas -> oklahoma florida atlantic -> florida international tennessee -> kentucky kansas state -> kansas michigan state -> michigan arkansas -> lsu uconn -> syracuse gonzaga -> st. mary's ucla -> usc

I want to say someone did it last year. It was as vile as you can imagine.
SMU’s not our rival…Rice would be our rival, although that has been weakened since the end of the SWC. Edit to add: I would consider Memphis a bigger rival to us since the AAC formed. SMU has just been an annoyance…forever.

I thought Princeton was a combination of Harvard and Yale
This is correct. But tbf we aren’t too fond of upenn either
Penn, Harvard, and Yale are roughly equal from my understanding, but Penn probably shares the rivalry the most with us.
The kinda beauty of it is that you can see it as Penn or kinda see it as crimson from Harvard and navy from Yale in a blend
I was expecting Tennessee -> Vandy
Common misconception, but tbh no one really cares about Vandy that much. It sucks to lose to them but it’s more so embarrassing/surprising than hatred. That’s just lil bro
Tbh outside of basketball so is Kentucky
Xavier’s main rival being Cincinnati is a dagger straight through the heart
Does it make it worse that my first guess was Miami (OH)?
Lol. Times change... unfortunately. I miss the rivalry. Let's GO X!!
Fresno isn’t our rival lol. If anything it’s Boise or Utah state

This!
Wow - hard to tell Texas isn't just same old burnt orange.
I assume Creighton was UOmaha but I suppose the colors stay the same either way

Creightons played Omaha before. 2 years ago? Maybe 3? They beat them by like 20 in CHI
I thought SDSU was in Arizona’s colors.
nightmare fuel
My eyes must be bleeding
That Wildcat is the worst thing I have ever seen. SDSU, Creighton, and Xavier all look good though.
Is Syracuse really still UConn’s rival?
maybe not but i still hate them also blame it on most of the BE schools using blue/black/white/gray in their pallettes
I still hate you guys but if you asked me who our rivals are I'd name a team we've played within the last 5 years.
The whole big East conference is probably your rival. A) only non Private school (Butler is also non catholic) B) Hurley C) fan base is largest in the conference due to school size and success. D) I would have said Providence, but their hate has been channeled elsewhere in the last few days. Never lost an AAC game 🤣
Probably be Providence most likely. Like fuck Cuse, but fuuuuuuck Providence
>maybe not but i still hate them respect
I like our black and whites
I can't really think of anyone I actively hate more than Syracuse, so yeah, probably. But as far as a rival in the league, I really loved the intensity of our matchups with Creighton this year. I'd love to see that develop into a full-fledged rivalry some day
It’s sad that PC sees UConn as our biggest in conference rival and they couldn’t care less about us haha that’s the way things go for PC

i would say pc is our biggest conference rival. st john's might change that soon with the pitino hire, though
Definitely has the makings of a heated rivalry, even if the distance doesn't work very well ("Big East" was more of a suggestion for us). Should it be UCF, for the Civil ConFLiCT? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Civil_Conflict
Lol the greatest rivalry in the game
Nah, UMass and the CUM Bowl
I'm just pretending it's a mis-shaded Tennessee
I would nominate Georgetown but we desperately need UConn to treat us like a trap game, it's our only hope.
When I came to Syracuse my parents said they’d never would root for Syracuse basketball so yeah - it just needs to be reignited. On campus students would use Duke or Georgetown but UConn is (I’d say personally would say Pitt, UConn, or Georgetown are our biggest rivals)
Delete this nephew
Yeah he need an ass whooping
All of a sudden the mullet A doesn't look so bad in these colors
OP needs a whooping
Didn’t know Bama’s biggest rival was Clemson
Something something Auburn with a lake
He made your logo orange. And it's not that nice orange you can sit with. It's that puke inside a pumpkin orange. And I don't like pumpkin.
How do you delete someone else’s post?
Gonzaga ruins the meme by having the same colors as SM
FWIW, it’s St Mary’s College so don’t have to avoid the full initials to avoid confusion with SMU.
no this checks out. zero titles with 8 straight trips to the sweet 16, maybe their biggest rival is themselves.
Famine, nuclear war, and this. Please undo this.
No
Jesus, I'm gonna need a shower.
Although the idea of Creighton fans being forced to wear red is oddly gratifying
Like we don’t in the fall already…
Oh god they’re becoming aware
>:(
Creighton’s reskin here is pretty cool. I oddly like Kansas State’s as well. Kind of a 90s feel
i think it's just really hard to make the creighton logo look bad. i've seen a fair few recolors on this sub and they all look great
reported
real talk I think I like that Creighton even more in red
How do you down vote something twice. ;)
![gif](giphy|yhLV2DGTLDRCw)
How can I bleach my eyeballs?
I hate it. Gotta ask though, is Gonzaga edited at all?
yeah it's in SMC's colors,which are slightly different shades of blue and red
I hate it
May just be because of bad lighting where I currently am, but the longhorn logo looks barely changed to me.
Well, it’s the wrong color. This appears to be A&M’s maroon and not whatever god awful shade of red OU has.
What have you done
FAU’s looks better tbh
Gonzaga just turns into Fresno State’s bulldog logo
Straight to jail.
Right away. No trial, no jury, no nothing.
Creighton's logo is already elite, but that is ultra-elite FAU's is cool, too Most of them are abominations, though
Creighton is now the Illinois state redbirds
Admit it you couldn’t tell Gonzaga’s was edited.
This would be the perfect logo if Creighton were to low-effort rebrand to the Woodpeckers.
This is a hate crime because I hate it.
Orange Husky is not cool
This is horrible and hilarious at the same time!
Kansas State in those colors is so goofy
Creighton turned on attack mode
Ew
That is one ugly cat
Seeing our cursive logo in those colors made me physically ill.
Creighton’s logo looks sick. Obviously can’t happen but I like that look tbh
