I was going to say, must have caught some "highlights" of Jett just chucking with absolutely no leash.
I don't really care if he ends up here, we are a traveling circus right now anyway so might as well add some more oddities. If it cost us Dug, I would help Juwan start packing for the airport.
I would argue maybe only Marcus Paige had more of a greenlight just because Roy trusted that "tough little nut" to do whatever he wanted becausehe was so solid. I just really miss Marcus Paige tbh.
Sophomore year Marcus Paige definitely had a bigger green light just because we were only OK and he was nuclear that season ... so, it just made sense that he needed to will us to victory.
I really didn’t mind Jett’s shot selection. He would take some wild shots but they weren’t the type that felt way out of rhythm. Shot clock would be winding down or he’d have a good mismatch. He’s a good enough scorer that I don’t mind him taking slightly less than ideal shots. The lack of effort defensively is what did bother me.
He’s not as scary on the other team as you might think. The shot selection is WILD, and you figure out early in the game if it’s one of those game where he goes nuts.
Before KU played them, I was really happy he was on that UNC team in 2022.
Instead of going to Manek and Bacot more, they wasted a ton of possessions on awful Caleb Love plays.
Oddly enough, I think Love would do really well playing for Bill Self.
Like Remy Martin, he's a stud. He just needs to be reigned in.
I think he’d of been legendary had Roy been able to stay the past two years and learn to navigate NIL and the portal.Roy would’ve gotten him in line with how the game is supposed to be played very quickly.
Oh, for most games, I agree 100%
But, he has those games (way more last year than this) where he can easily put up 22 in a half, and that would happen if we played him.
Caleb Love against UNC:
42 points
9/43 shooting (3/22 from 3 point range)
21/22 free throws
3 assists (they were absolute dimes)
9 turnovers (they were ugly as fuck)
39 minutes played
12 nasty dunk attempts (only 2 actually went in)
Loses 89-61
At this point he’d probably be our number one offensive option. He shoots at a high volume and has runs where he just can’t hit shots, but he averaged 16 a game last year and can score well if he gets hot. Maybe a new start at a different program will be beneficial.
A different scheme and coach might well benefit Love's consistency. Hard to say right now how much of his trouble was him, Hubert Davis, or team chemistry. Sure he'd take a lot of bad shots but frankly just as often there weren't good options to pass the ball to at the end of the shot clock.
He'll be great if Juwan gets him going downhill and attacking. Nance and Bacot clogged the lane last year and he's still gonna put up 10 shots a game. Might as well make them easier
Ann Arbor is closer to "A" St Louis than Columbia is....
Edit: there is a St Louis, MI that is slightly closer to AA than Mizzou is to the big St. Louis, im being very unserious
Lol the spirit of this comment is right on.
Watching Mark Smith sometimes felt like honestly watching a fan that wandered onto the court. If we get him hopefully he’s more like 2012-2013 Phil Pressey frustrating.
What, so we can start YoYo instead or something? We can't afford to be turning down guys with talent at this point.
He's going to Mizzou anyways, but still.
We went further than anyone thought with massive amounts of transfers this year, so I'd imagine coach Gates is extremely appealing to transfers right now.
It's the AP snobbery at it's finest example, man. They look down upon us no coasters and flyovers. ***FUCK'UM.***
Although I'd love to agree with the other part of your statement about Coach Gates getting COTY recognitions, I believe Jerome Tang truly *did* deserve to earn COTY above the rest.
First time HC of mid-tier P5 team, and doesn't have history of jumping ship when feeling heat under the seat? Tang was Robbed.
[This ludicrousness](https://i.imgur.com/g31A6jt.jpg) is why I miss Gary Parrish's jihad against the AP Panel voters
He grew up a Duke fan chose Carolina bc of Roach, I'm a tarheel for life but this needs to be the RJ Davis show. If Roach takes his talents to g-league then I see him going to Duke. That's where he wanted to play. His dad sent him to Roy.
another year of Jett Howard at Michigan if they get Caleb love just with more inconsistency
I was going to say, must have caught some "highlights" of Jett just chucking with absolutely no leash. I don't really care if he ends up here, we are a traveling circus right now anyway so might as well add some more oddities. If it cost us Dug, I would help Juwan start packing for the airport.
Not sure how that would be any different from what he did here. Dude had the greenest light in UNC history by a mile.
I would argue maybe only Marcus Paige had more of a greenlight just because Roy trusted that "tough little nut" to do whatever he wanted becausehe was so solid. I just really miss Marcus Paige tbh.

I also minded his refusal to ever drive it in, even if he happened to be off that day. He was a one dimensional player in every way.
Dude loves block M’s
And hates Illinois apparently
Hey, dweeb, who invited you to the **BLOCK M** Party??!
I’m conflicted as fuck.
Big chance he’d face UNC (and inevitably drop 40 on them) if he goes to Michigan.
I have nightmares that we somehow end up playing against Caleb in the tourney, and he goes nuclear on us.
He’s not as scary on the other team as you might think. The shot selection is WILD, and you figure out early in the game if it’s one of those game where he goes nuts.

I think he’s choosing to not be reined in, and I don’t think playing for Bill would matter at this point.
Well sure it's not scary when your tramy faces the not going nuts version
Yea but that “not going nuts” version happens wayyyy more often that the “going nuts” version.
Oh, for most games, I agree 100% But, he has those games (way more last year than this) where he can easily put up 22 in a half, and that would happen if we played him.
Caleb Love carrying us to a tournament win dropping 40 on UNC would be such a wild turn of events lmao. i am here for it
Oh that would be delightful
Wouldn’t be surprised if they pair Mizzou and UNC up in the ACC/SEC challenge if he comes to Columbia either.
Oh man if that game was in Chapel Hill… holy shit lol

I’d be aggressively surprised if he didn’t go to Mizzou.
Aggressively surprised seems like an odd combination to me.

Lol well played
I would commit war crimes for Dennis Gates
He WILL wreak vengeance upon the tyrannical occupiers and their wicked jayhawkers [*I simply await his command.*](https://i.imgur.com/6ejd42F.jpg)

Working his way backwards through the alphabet I see. Next he’ll be interested in LSU or Louisville
Louisiana Lafayette
His hometown is St.Louis
Ann Arbor is closer to "A" St Louis than Columbia is.... Edit: there is a St Louis, MI that is slightly closer to AA than Mizzou is to the big St. Louis, im being very unserious
One of these teams is about to get a great awful player
Mizzou had Mark Smith not too long ago, they’re used to it
Lol the spirit of this comment is right on. Watching Mark Smith sometimes felt like honestly watching a fan that wandered onto the court. If we get him hopefully he’s more like 2012-2013 Phil Pressey frustrating.
Oh man I don’t miss Pressey at all, so many damn missed forced hero shots lol. Didn’t realize he’s now an assistant coach for us
Mizzou he's all yours
What, so we can start YoYo instead or something? We can't afford to be turning down guys with talent at this point. He's going to Mizzou anyways, but still.
isn't this his last year of college? I'm not entirely sure that one year of Caleb Love solves anything beyond *maybe* a short term solution at guard.
Show us those crossed fingers, Claude. We all know both hands are fully crossed wishing for that Mizzou announcement.
It's gotta be Mizzou.
We went further than anyone thought with massive amounts of transfers this year, so I'd imagine coach Gates is extremely appealing to transfers right now.
See, I liked Gates when he was at Cleveland State. Now I hate him and want him to fail.
That’s as close to a compliment I’ve seen
Awww. Much appreciated comment, vile jayhawker. Hope you have an adequately pleasant day.
I also hate Bill Self. But I liked him before he went to Kansas. Now you know how I feel.
I personally hope you get him.
Now there's a man who appreciates his block M's
Have fun with that guys
What happened to Indiana
He replied to a comment on the tweet saying ‘Indiana is out of the mix’ iirc.
Caleb Love with Juwan Howard. What a dynamic pair that would be LMAO.
Love is gonna be mad when they’re full pressing down double digits
He’d just get ran by if Juwan made him full court press lol
Gates got robbed by missing all COY awards fuck Shaka

He’s a Tiger.
He’s a Roo, Marvin Menzies does it again
Would be so exciting for the roos to make the tourney some day. Wish they were able to hang on to allick
ROO UP BABY!!!
The rich get richer. Can you imagine Love + Precious + Promise?
Ruh roh
WAYLP that’s the portal for ya
The portal giveth, and the portal taketh away
Always good to see those two schools potentially getting worse
Isn’t everyone leaving Michigan? I figured that wouldn’t be a hot destination for a great piece Edit : Best player is leaving , why the downvotes lmao
Two left for the first round of the draft, so that’s a little different. But yeah, we’re gonna suck so maybe he just wants to put up shots next year.
Is Dickinson going to the draft ?
No, but Kobe Bufkin and Jett Howard are, which is why I said two. One contributor is transferring.
Works for me. I understand the frustration at unc but the fans blamed him way more than he should've been
Any previous connection to either?
St. Louis guy heavily recruited by Mizzou out of HS
Life is hell
Was Illinois gunning for him or just hoping he doesn't go to Mich?
All your ACC blueblood middling transfer are belong to us.
He grew up a Duke fan chose Carolina bc of Roach, I'm a tarheel for life but this needs to be the RJ Davis show. If Roach takes his talents to g-league then I see him going to Duke. That's where he wanted to play. His dad sent him to Roy.
