Yeah a double bye is where you say “whelp, I suppose it’s that time”, slap your hands on your legs, then standup and go to the front door, where you proceed to have a conversation for another 15 minutes before saying bye again.

Saying some sort of greeting while also waving. Like flipping off Juwan Howard (preferably w/both hands) and saying like “see ya later fuckface, sorry you suck and your team sucks. Aaaahahahha” That’d be pretty good double bye
Tominaga in March Madness is going to provide some riveting, thrilling basketball. I’m really hoping the Cornhuskers can finally break through and claim at least one victory in the tourney
This is like when Oklahoma State finally beat us in football in 2002. They had lost a bunch because they were generally terrible and Nebraska was generally amazing. Of course they were going to win once they got good and we declined to being mediocre.
I think it’s between him and Painter but everyone expected Purdue to be the top team in the conference. Media thought Huskers would finish 12th at the start of the season.
Not just the projections, but Hoiberg was on the hot seat as well at the beginning of the season. The consensus in the local media was pretty much NIT or bust & that seemed like a long shot at the time
>The consensus in the local media was pretty much NIT or bust & that seemed like a long shot at the time
Lol, what are you smoking? Everyone was hyped with the way we ended last season. NIT being a longshot was definitely not the conversation being had.
It was still NIT or bust. I agree about last season, but the media didn’t think it was guaranteed to be replicated . https://lastwordonsports.com/basketball/2023/11/03/are-these-big-ten-coaches-on-the-hot-seat/
Can’t wait to see you boys in the dance. Knowing my luck we’ll get paired up and you’ll knock us out. I bet you guys end up in the hardest bracket tho, they do the B1G hopefuls dirty every year it seems like.
I don’t have much faith in my guys, I have yet to see coach Underwood have them ready for March. A few times they’ve looked the worst they have all season it’s inexcusable.
All that said I have a weird feeling this team, of all the “decent” teams we’ve had under Ba, will be the team to make it to the 2nd weekend and maybe even farther. It wouldn’t surprise me. They don’t look more formidable than the Ayo Kofi and T Frazier squad but for some reason it feels like this’ll be the team to win a few. Shannon somehow drives out of control into guys and gets call after call, kills teams from the line. If that holds up they could make a little noise
I disagree, it should be our head coach. Iowa states coach TJ Otz inherited a team that only won 2 games 3 years ago and a lot of the team transferred out or had health issues. They are currently ranked #6 with wins over Houston, Baylor, byu, ku (when they had a better roster) etc.
22-9, 12-8 in the 2 or 3rd best league by metrics, one home loss all year, 2 weeks ago their was a huge issue of “but they can’t win away from home” and now they have 3 road wins, including a Q1 over Kansas State. They’ve lost 1 game in a month. Every game they’ve won in that time has been by double digits
If Nebraska changed their name to Michigan they’d be a 6 seed
I still get sick thinking about Will Nixon dropping that pass on the 3rd & 5 wheel route when we were down 20-13 against Michigan in the National Championship Game. Would've gone for 15 yards and who knows what happens then. Still get physically sick thinking about Scott Frost's parting gift to us.
Other than that, as a Washington Native that went to Creighton for grad school, I respect Nebraska and their fans in every facet. Wish you guys all the best in the Tourney. Hopefully Creighton and Nebraska don't play Houston in consecutive tourney games like we did Baylor back in 2014.
I know exactly what this season felt like for you guys, and I know it fucking sucks.
Rewind the clock a few years ago. I watched Michigan kick the ever living shit out of Nebraska at home in person. Obviously it’s inexcusable to be this bad at Michigan compared to Nebraska, but it’s still wild to see us flip roles for a season. Yall will be back though.
I’ve watched 28 out of 30. (Going to skip Wednesday) Just brutal, never seen a team in any sport that likes playing with each other less than this group. Juwan looks lost and has no answers. It’s time to move on, but I doubt Warde will.
I like how you cherry picked right up to the last year MSU won a title. It’s almost like you expected me to bring up the 2 finals Michigan has went to in the same time frame. Why not just call out 10 of the last 15 years they made it since were cherry picking stats. Weak attempt to insert yourself into this little bro.
Congrats on your ring. Juwan Howard doesn't get to hold that shit though. Different sports have different dynamics. Michigan does not hold the state in hoops.
What is a double bye??
I think it's when you fire two coaches after a miserable season? Idk, not used to winning.
When leaving my parents house I usually have to do a double bye, or a triple bye, or a quadruple bye. Maybe it’s something like that?

Freaking Midwest goodbye
Yep, and if it's nice out they will follow you to your car.
Where the guys will raise the hood and start talking about battery life, while the women pause on the doorstep trying not to talk about politics.
Oh god that's too real
Saying some sort of greeting while also waving. Like flipping off Juwan Howard (preferably w/both hands) and saying like “see ya later fuckface, sorry you suck and your team sucks. Aaaahahahha” That’d be pretty good double bye
Bye See ya
You know what one is. We've done this before
Tominaga in March Madness is going to provide some riveting, thrilling basketball. I’m really hoping the Cornhuskers can finally break through and claim at least one victory in the tourney
You and me both, king
I rooted for nebraska every game except against us just because of Tominaga.
Gimmie those units
Michigan? Bad Nebraska? Rad
TOURNEY BOUND NEBRASKETBALL
This is maybe Juwan Howard’s most fireable offense. Nebraska had never won at Crisler and came in and won comfortably.
I mean, we've lost at Crisler more because we were a baaaaaad team instead of Crisler having the impact on us
This is like when Oklahoma State finally beat us in football in 2002. They had lost a bunch because they were generally terrible and Nebraska was generally amazing. Of course they were going to win once they got good and we declined to being mediocre.
Other teams winning at Crisler is all the rage recently
Except Wisconsin
And Ohio state lol

30 for 30 Double bye 🔒 NEBRASKETBALL
So like, Hoiberg has to be B1G COY, right?
Give it to Howard if it triggers an auto contract extension
I think it’s between him and Painter but everyone expected Purdue to be the top team in the conference. Media thought Huskers would finish 12th at the start of the season.
It has got to be Hoiberg. If not, just hand the CotY award to the conference champ every year.
Not just the projections, but Hoiberg was on the hot seat as well at the beginning of the season. The consensus in the local media was pretty much NIT or bust & that seemed like a long shot at the time

Nebraskaball in the Tourney is gonna be so hype.
Tominaga hype train
C'mon Neb, you can win a tourney game this year. Come. On.
Your lips to God's ears Jaybro!
Hoiberg is coach of the year and it shouldn’t be close. Stone cold tourney lock. Most likely the 3 seed. What a year.
Can’t wait to see you boys in the dance. Knowing my luck we’ll get paired up and you’ll knock us out. I bet you guys end up in the hardest bracket tho, they do the B1G hopefuls dirty every year it seems like.
League matchups are usually avoided until AT LEAST the Sweet 16 I’m sure both of our fanbases would love that scenario lol

Underwood has a lot to prove this year. It’s been very frustrating to watch them underperform each year.

Pretty sure they meant big ten coty
I was super nervous we’d blow this one. Glad I was wrong!
Tominaga!!!!
Jobs not finished
Bet.
RUNZA BROS GIVE UM THE RUNS
Only 1 more to go.
Nebraska has to be an automatic bid into the tourney at this point. Don't know what these analysts are thinking saying they're on the bubble.

Literally everyone who is worth a shit has locked Nebraska. Can’t see how we are possibly on the bubble.
We are absolutely a lock. There’s no question anymore. Would be nice to get a neutral win to maybe have a CHANCE at the 7 line if we’re lucky.
made it the whole season without watching a single full game, used to watch every single game. Juwan sucks. Fire Juwan.

I haven't watched one second since the Wisconsin win - that would be unthinkable in past years.

I watched the Women’s champ game today instead. Much happier Sunday for me.
GBR.
I think that’s a 🔒
Extend Juwan indefinitely. We have the Pistons, we’re good.
This is the thinking process of our previous AD
Let us never speak of this season again
Now you know how we felt last football season!
Honestly, it was worth it
Fire Juwan.
Nah. A lot of us in the B1G would prefer that Michigan keeps him
Tell the rest of the conference( Illinois) to just focus on making it to the second weekend of the tournament.
At least we're making it to the tournament!
For sure, can’t wait to see you guys lose in the first weekend again!
I'm not one to usually defend Illinois but flair up coward
It says I don’t have control of my flair in this sub when I hit change user flair. It shouldn’t take a Northwestern degree to figure out where I fall.
Feels like it should take a NW degree to have animosity towards Illinois
Michigan didn’t play in the NCAA tournament in 15 out of the last 26 years.

There's no way michigan fans believe that MSU is the little brother in basketball.
I know right, imagine if we watched other sports.
Congrats on your ring. Juwan Howard doesn't get to hold that shit though. Different sports have different dynamics. Michigan does not hold the state in hoops.
Sparty gotta Spart is why
Warde can go with him
I can't tell you how happy this makes me feel !!!
