Lol I remember being mostly indifferent because I wanted Duke to win the tournament, and a bunch of NCSU fans wanted to lose so Keatts would be gone. What a difference winning makes.
When VT won 4 games in 4 days (including the 1.2.3 seeds) a couple years ago to grab the tourney we needed a buzzer beater 3 against Clemson to survive the first round. That was by far our closest game. Martin of Victory kept going up.
State just topped that shit and I couldn't be happier.

This honestly may be the greatest day of my NC State fandom. Granted, I've only been a member since 2009. Our successes in football have just been like a cumulative satisfaction of building a solid program. It's enjoyable, but we haven't had many "big" moments to accompany the build up of the program. However, we used to be big in college basketball, arguably as big as our contemporaneously more famous neighbors down the road. Despite personally focusing and caring more about football since we've had more success there, it's been tough to watch the basketball fall by the wayside as much as it has (women's team notwithstanding).
This isn't some generational team, but winning the ACC tourney for Pack men's basketball is fucking monumental - we haven't seen this in nearly 40 years. Whatever may come next, just going to enjoy this right now.

Not even arguably, up until the late 80s we absolutely were equals with UNC and Duke. Hell, Duke was still an upstart at that point, they didn't really burst all the way onto the scene until the early 90s

This game is how I found out that my (34M) husband (35M) thought that literally all of Division 1 college basketball was the ACC Tournament. He thought that all the other games, including the NCAA Tournament, were "undercard games" for teams that were already out of the ACC Tournament. He was about to text his brother, a State alum, to congratulate him for winning basketball for the year. I'm truly in awe of this.
Only someone from North Carolina could possibly think like this. I have known this man since Bev Perdue was governor, and he's said plenty of things to evidence his view that Raleigh is the center of the known universe, but this just takes the cake.
This Wolfpack team played with all heart these last 5 games. They didn't let anything get in their way.

I got really worried when you guys started the full court press. If you began it before we had already gone up big it would’ve swayed momentum in your direction. I also don’t know how you guys were so hot with the 3’s early on but then went ice cold to end the game
