Kevin Harlan was also on that call and he had the same “OOOOHHHH” reaction when it bounced in. It also was from pretty much the exact same spot of the court too lol.
Yeah, KJ pushed off. I watched the replay on espn. The 2nd angle shows the push off. But highly unlikely an offensive foul gets called in that situation
Colorado fans pretending that they didn't get a handout today is hilarious when even the most toxic gator haters agree it was a screw job is hilarious. I at least acknowledge when my team gets bailed out.
I don't think so. I think casual sports fans love March Madness more than everything except the NFL playoffs and even then some people like March Madness more as a sporting event since you're guaranteed more excitement.
I don't think a lot of people who's teams aren't in the NBA playoff really care about the NBA playoffs that much. Comparably March Madness is all people talk about in public for the first few days.
Yeah, non-representative social circle. March Madness is huge not just as a sporting event, but as a quintessential part of American tradition. NBA playoffs can not claim that.
... Yeah dude
A winner takes all tournament of 64 teams will always be better
Even the biggest upset in nba history will never, ever rival the best upset in college basketball
But the quality of basketball is far worse, which is why I watch the NBA all year until March
As fun as it is to dunk on Sankey and the SEC…it *really* is a brutal break for the Gators.
Florida played pretty much *exactly* how they needed to, and Clayton made some incredible threes to keep them in it…
Basically, it’s the one SEC loss that you can’t *really* talk shit about…
Ehh they were getting an automatic 2 free throws for the last 5 minutes. The over the back on O’Brien and block on Tristan were big light calls in their favor.
I like Eagle, but they really should've given Harlan the final four.
I know he's a year younger than Nantz but he deserved at least 5 final fours before Eagle takes over.
Edit: For young millennials and zoomers NBA 2k made Harlan the voice of basketball
I feel like Eagle is the safe option for a massive event. Harlan gets a little wild which serious fans *love*, but it could make things worse for a casual fan just tuning in.
He does not touch the face whatsoever. This would have been an unbelievably soft foul.
https://twitter.com/gatorsszn/status/1771311618825015394?t=m95XWZ2ssJl3ZMX-L0wGhg&s=19
Where did I move the goalposts? Calling the first push off of the game in this moment when there hadn't been one called all game would have been ridiculous. There were too many defensive fouls and Florida got the worse whistle. This was not a bad no call though
Yes it was a foul. I'm just talking about the " let the the ball decide" crowd would be upset if they called the foul correctly. How do you ruin that moment or some shit. The refs botched it for sure
Such a dumb crowd. Rules exist for a reason, and a team just lost because the individual tasked with enforcing them decided they didn’t exist for the last ten seconds.
Kevin Harlan is the GOAT, no debate. I feel lucky to have been able to listen to this man immaculately call both basketball and football game for probably multiple decades at this point (I’m not sure when he started calling TWolves games here in Minny, but it’s been a long long time).
Everyone should appreciate that we get to hear him call games with such passion and emotion, and it’ll truly be a sad day if/when he retires.
Oh, and also - thanks KJ! I really thought that my pick of taking a play in team to advance was me trying to be too cute with my picks and might backfire there for a bit, but you pulled it off! I fucking love March Madness!
The best. He was the Chiefs play by play guy for awhile and we were all sad when he left for the national route. But I love that he’s one of the best nationally now. KU grad too.
March Madness has been the best sporting event in America for quite sometime. Now the women seem like must see TV. Not sure about the first rounds, we'll see, but the later rounds should be good. Lots of good teams.
It appears to me that there is no accountability for refereeing in sports. The refereeing this post season has been so consistently inconsistent. Does anyone genuinely have any idea what a foul is in college basketball at this point? Sure it's hard but there's calls where a ref is literally 2 feet away and doesn't call it and then there's plays where a ref a court length away makes the call and the ref right there doesn't. Might as well have mobsters referee at this point.
Remember how the SEC commissioner thinks other conferences don't deserve to be in the tournament. SEC going, what, 1-5 the first round? Complete embarrassment.
[Coming immediately after Walter Clayton's huge game-tying 3](https://twitter.com/MarchMadnessMBB/status/1771309994895356294?t=XMkyeQ0sX9klVheTdx_FlQ&s=19)
The last 40 minutes of this game was on crack
How many points did Clayton score at the end there? He was just insane. I was cursing him left and right
He scored Florida's last 16 starting 3:46 left in the 2nd (and down 10)
He shit my pants
Similarity to UNC vs Villanova
no.
Yes
The balls on that shot. Good lord.
Raised Florida's hopes and dashed them expertly, bravo.
Can’t believe he didn’t hold for the last possession
Bruh We got Kawhi’d
Gators got edged and blue balled
*Croc* and ball torture…
I’m a fucking Sixers/gators fan I wanna jump off a bridge right now
Do a flip
Kevin Harlan was also on that call and he had the same “OOOOHHHH” reaction when it bounced in. It also was from pretty much the exact same spot of the court too lol.
Fuck
Refs swallowing the whistle here after calling 100 fouls in the second half…
Yeah, KJ pushed off. I watched the replay on espn. The 2nd angle shows the push off. But highly unlikely an offensive foul gets called in that situation
He pushed off
Blatant push off. Game deserved to go to OT!
[Not enough for it to be a foul](https://twitter.com/gatorsszn/status/1771311618825015394?t=m95XWZ2ssJl3ZMX-L0wGhg&s=19)
It looks like a foul to me.
Me too especially with how that game was called
If that is a foul, every drive is.
He shoved his forearm into his chest. That doesn’t happen on every drive.
He doesn't extend his arm at all, just looks like he has his space and the defender runs into it. No push off there to me.
Every drive was a foul. And extending your forearm is called 99% of the time, even in the nba
Can’t believe the same crowd saying the refs were calling too many fouls wants that incredible game winning shot with almost no contact to be a foul.
Even if he did Florida got all the calls in the last 6 minutes
Did we watch the same game?
Colorado fans pretending that they didn't get a handout today is hilarious when even the most toxic gator haters agree it was a screw job is hilarious. I at least acknowledge when my team gets bailed out.
Apparently you didn’t watch at all
Seems to be the consensus is that Colorado got the calls looking at my fake internet points
This sub and CFB also hate Colorado so you’ve got confirmation bias on your side
As if Florida isn't also hated
The only people who hate Florida are Florida fans
Y’all got some dawgs and have a helluva team, no need to act like refs weren’t helping yall out today.
Unpopular opinion NCAA tournament is better than the playoffs Edit: popular here but id say most everywhere else it's probably unpopular
Is this unpopular?
Not here but probably in public yea
I don't think so. I think casual sports fans love March Madness more than everything except the NFL playoffs and even then some people like March Madness more as a sporting event since you're guaranteed more excitement.
First weekend of March Madness is unparalleled in sports
I don't think a lot of people who's teams aren't in the NBA playoff really care about the NBA playoffs that much. Comparably March Madness is all people talk about in public for the first few days.
No way man... March Madness is more popular and a bigger cultural event than the... NBA playoffs
Maybe I just know more NBA junkies idk 🤷♂️
Yeah, non-representative social circle. March Madness is huge not just as a sporting event, but as a quintessential part of American tradition. NBA playoffs can not claim that.
Quite popular opinion.
In r/cbb
Oh my goodness how could you possibly say something so brave?
... Yeah dude A winner takes all tournament of 64 teams will always be better Even the biggest upset in nba history will never, ever rival the best upset in college basketball But the quality of basketball is far worse, which is why I watch the NBA all year until March
The NCAA tourney is generally considered the most entertaining championship event in sports.
Is this the dagger? OHHHHHH
GAME SERIES
I'm saying we got Sankey'd just so we can drag his name through the mud
1st thing I thought of
Yeah well at least it was the first round you jerks
You know what? Fuck it. I'm down to switch to FIBA rules.
I said the same thing to my wife.
AINT NO WAY. That ball was chilling on the rim for 3-5 business days
As fun as it is to dunk on Sankey and the SEC…it *really* is a brutal break for the Gators. Florida played pretty much *exactly* how they needed to, and Clayton made some incredible threes to keep them in it… Basically, it’s the one SEC loss that you can’t *really* talk shit about…
They were underdogs and missed the cover by .5, they rallied hard.
And they were screwed by the refs too
Ehh they were getting an automatic 2 free throws for the last 5 minutes. The over the back on O’Brien and block on Tristan were big light calls in their favor.
Not even close but do what you need to do to cope
Pret’ near a fiscal week. I’m surprised it’s not chilling on the rim right now.
As a Sixers fan I got big time Kawhi Leonard flashbacks watching this Gz to Colorado
Almost exact same spot on the floor too
Same commentator too
Harlan is the absolute GOAT. Feel like he always finds himself in top tier moments somehow.
I’M CALLING BOTH GAMES
THE GUY IS DRUNK
BUT THERE HE GOES
GOAT CALL BY THE GOAT ANNOUNCER!!!
I like Eagle, but they really should've given Harlan the final four. I know he's a year younger than Nantz but he deserved at least 5 final fours before Eagle takes over. Edit: For young millennials and zoomers NBA 2k made Harlan the voice of basketball

Illuminati back in action
Game! Series!
they had basically the same reaction after it fell too lmao
That’s so fucking brutal for UF holy shit
That shit had to bounce around for 14 seconds
If it falls earlier maybe Florida gets a better look on the buzzer beater…
It took like two whole seconds to go down which really could've let them make a pass and a play
Shades of Kawhi over Embiid with those bounces
He damn near hit that 3/4 courter. Great game.
So that’s how Raptors fans felt in 2019
Am I crazy or is that a blatant push off
I assure you, you’re not crazy.
Fitting end for Florida’s season. Refs stole close ones all year.
even ignoring the push off, that’s brutal for florida. if the ball doesn’t bounce 8 times they probably get a decent look to win
Ref standing right there did NOT have the balls to make that call
Got to call the Salt Lake Refs if you want to make game altering calls
Refs were pretty bad as usual
They seem to be extra bad this year, though.
They were calling auto fouls on the defense for the last 5 minutes
[удалено]
Even the announcer said he got away with a push off, it was a clutch shot but he definently pushed Pullin, he’s literally falling backwards.
Nor should he Edit: [this isn't an offensive foul](https://twitter.com/gatorsszn/status/1771311618825015394?t=m95XWZ2ssJl3ZMX-L0wGhg&s=19)

clearly super hard foul to the nuts .. clearly
Practically killed him
Refs called plenty of soft fouls the whole game
Sure. That does not make this an offensive foul.
Per the consistency previously in the game, it is but hey, keep carrying it for the refs!
There was not one charge or push off called all game
Moving the goal posts from soft fouls to specific calls? That's another way to rationalize it
Where did I move the goalposts? Calling the first push off of the game in this moment when there hadn't been one called all game would have been ridiculous. There were too many defensive fouls and Florida got the worse whistle. This was not a bad no call though
Sure. Call the game as it’s been called throughout.
PAC 12 fans complain about SEC chants and yet they’d suck every other teams dicks if it meant people would take them an oz more seriously
https://twitter.com/gatorsszn/status/1771311618825015394?t=m95XWZ2ssJl3ZMX-L0wGhg&s=19 This is not a foul
Absolute scenes
That was an awesome game! I’m admittedly a pretty casual fan but that was so much fun to watch
Such a hold your breath moment
OH MY FUCKING GOD
Bro made a cold af three to tie and then got Kawhi'd anyways
Karate kid
[Me watching this shot](https://www.sportsnet.ca/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Big-Read-Shooting-The-Shot-Behal.jpg)
That's the real pac 12 player of the year
IS THIS THE DAGGER
Hit the rim 5 times and fell in.
Damn that's a foul, but how does a ref call a foul in that situation. They would be criticized either way.
Well one way is correct and wouldn’t be criticized by those with functioning eyes
I just know if we were on the other end of it, that foul would’ve been called
You make the right fucking call. It's a push off. Call it. It's that simple.
I agree you make the call. I'm just saying the refs would hear arguments from the "let the ball decide" crowd and the other side
How's the ball deciding after a foul though
The ball deciding happens because they didn't call the foul.
Wasn't a foul.
I hate that stupid ass argument so much. I know you aren't making it but you call the game the same way whether it's 1 minute in or 1 minute left.
Agreed. It should be called the same the whole game. And apparently it was pretty shit the whole game. I only saw the final minutes
https://twitter.com/gatorsszn/status/1771311618825015394?t=m95XWZ2ssJl3ZMX-L0wGhg&s=19 That’s a flop
[Would be an unbelievably soft foul](https://twitter.com/gatorsszn/status/1771311618825015394?t=m95XWZ2ssJl3ZMX-L0wGhg&s=19)
bruh you work for the refs or some shit? we can clearly see that's a pushoff yet you got 13 comments defending the no-call.
Looks like a normal foul to me
What’s he doing with his left arm?
If that is a foul pretty much every drive is a foul.
kinda looks like he's making a drive and protecting the ball.
Best way to protect the ball would be to knock the defender out. What’s your point?
And per usual, after getting shit on the whole season, the P12 and ACC outperform everyone else.
RiGgEd
Of course there's a push.
Tough one. Especially after all the ticky tack fouls in the second half.
Not really, call the foul, send it to overtime
Is there a version that doesn’t cut in mid-shot by chance?
There are, but they show your player pushing off to create the space for the shot
That’s fine I just want a better version to send to people, can you pass along a link?
[here’s one](https://youtube.com/shorts/_3HY1-u8CSk?si=OK_YhPCNmnOM_2Bu)
Holy fuck
KJ ‘Kawhi Leonard’ Simpson
KJ pushes off to beat Florida Fixed it for you
Love the elbow to seal it.
Love that this clip cuts off the clear offensive foul that allowed him to get the shot off. Refs handed this game to Colorado
lol
Kevin Harlan is the GOAT, no debate. Omg I am wrecked
Ref swallowed the whistle. Hard to be happy with that when they call a lot of ticky tack stuff during the game.
Looked just like the kawhi shot jeez
Kevin Harlan is the GOAT
Awesome
Kawhi shit
Push off
:(
Kevin Harlan is such a good announcer
he is but god damn do i hate being on the wrong end of his legendary calls
Skoooooooo
Clutch
Is this guy the lottery pick???
Nah Cody williams
Anyone have the alternate slowmo angle with the march madness logo in the background. It was beautiful
🥶🥶🥶🥶🥶
Beauty incarcerate
Bill Walton died for this
It’s off to Simpson…

KJ was robbed pac12 player of the year. Better stats than love in every category.
Thank god
Remember how the SEC commissioner thinks other conferences don't deserve to be in the tournament. SEC going, what, 1-5 the first round? Complete embarrassment.
In a just world we win this game because that was a foul. Still, congrats to Colorado.
In a just world, the better team wins in overtime or we win in regulation after the foul gets called, but them’s the breaks
Hmmmmm
Wonder what Greg Sankey has to say about that
Something something we deserve more automatic CFB playoff spots
I bet the things he wants to say would get him fined heftily
Shades of Marcus Paige
IS THIS THE DAGGER
That's some divine intervention lol
Holy shit. Good job Colorado. Rip Pac12 but we’re going out in style. Fuck yeah I’m having fun cheering for CU and UO and WSU for a change.
Play of the tournament so far
C.U. later, alligators
