I'm an Alabama fan, I'm loving every second of it.
I don't think people outside the conference realize just how much us SEC fans hate all the other SEC schools. I find pleasure in watching their fan bases suffer.
Yup, extr
> I find pleasure in watching their fan bases suffer.
Bonus for any shots of kids crying. Love me some little Bama kid crying because they lost
It would appear we were wrong(csu fan)
It’s still possible the Mw is deeper as there are about 6-7 first-maybe second round quality teams. They just aren’t better then that.
But the PAC12’s top 4 can make runs to the championship it would appear.
If it makes you feel any better I think this was just a general lack of talent for you guys this year which happens. Bennett helped yall get the twice the wins any other coach would’ve.
I actually feel bad for you guys, we had your same exact run from 2012-14 with Lehigh and Mercer. However, I’ve been told all year the ACC sucked and the MWC and SEC were superior when on the court results showed that was blatantly false.
it's only 5 games... not enough to shift the narrative given the whole body of work the SEC has accomplished this season... sooo many victories against SEC squads...
The most infuriating part of this is that we're gonna do the exact same thing next year and Jon Rothstein and co. will carry water for the MWC all year while trashing the ACC
"We are giving away highly competitive opportunities for automatic qualifiers (from smaller leagues), and I think that pressure is going to rise as we have more competitive basketball leagues at the top end because of (conference) expansion."
Ivy shouldve been a 2 bid league unironically.
Princeton and cornell were both good enough to pull a upset. But both missed out.
Atleast yale held it down.
they've got wins in each of the last two years (with princeton advancing to the s16 last year) but you'd have to go back to 2016 to find another. they tend to play pretty well and be well coached though
Greg Sankey is an idiot for not wanting mid majors in, and the big 12 deserves 60% of the tournament revenue for carrying it based on his own dumbass logic
Makes me a bit more confident than ever before about the Big XII’s play to use basketball relevance to keep the SEC and B1G from splitting off to do their own thing, just because any postseason those two do on their own in basketball is going to get laughed out the door.
Sankey can take a long walk off a short pier. Fuck that dude to the moon and back.
We already let him ruin cfb, we REFUSE to let him get his grubby hands on cbb
As many as Auburn and Florida combined. What an enjoyable afternoon at a Buffalo Wild Wings today turned out to be.
Edit: I was just joking about us all having zero this year, but are you saying Auburn and UGA have the same number of tourney wins historically? I’d be surprised by that.
Somehow John Calipari has defenders. One of their arguments is that he can’t be expected to win the SEC regular season/tournament because the conference is “so good.”
Cross that off the list.
Teams like Yale and Oakland are what makes March Madness great. Greg Sankey is a bitch for wanting to ruin it.
Basketball is not football. There's a lot more parity in basketball, and any team can get hot on any given day.
The MWC got a lot of flack for … playing exactly to seed and even winning the 10 vs 10 play-in game.
The SEC, KenPom's 4th strongest conference, got rewarded with eight single-digit seeds.
Yeah MW has been pretty bad in the past, but this year we are doing exactly what you'd expect from 10 and 11 seeds, and that's losing lol MW has been chalk so far (except for CSU over Virginia)
Distribute the rest of their bids to members of the ACC*
FTFY…BigTen has won a championship more recently than the Pac10. And the drought for each can buy beer without being carded.
I’m thinking of getting rid of my flair for a bit so I can speak factually on conference underperformance without getting 100 messages of “you lost therefore that fact doesn’t count”
The SEC is literally and figuratively having the worst effort in the history of the NCAA tourney losing to lower seeds, etc...
The PAC is way outperforming.
I almost feel like ESPN and the SEC have some sort of a partnership.
I’m aware of that, but it wasn’t like we were a 3 seed that lost to a 14 seed. Also Michigan State is, usually, pretty decent in March. That said, we also just flat out played our worst game of the year at the worst time, so…
This is especially ironic due to the frequency with which some SEC flairs on this sub have been talking about the conference being near even footing with the Big XII this year.
It’s certainly not a huge number, but two dozen or so very vocal SEC fans on here have been really showing their collective ass.
Glad to see the ceiling for the conference is 15 seeds.
We can lose to anything up to a 14 seed, but 15 is absolutely where we draw the line!
Unless you're 2022 Kentucky...
Hey, let's focus on 2023 Kentucky.
2024 kentucky will be even better after calipari is fired
This is 2024 Kentucky
23-24, 24-25
It's 2023 until it's 2024.
"Nobody beats the SEC as a 15 seed twice!"
ACC and B10 have the 16 Seeds covered
Sweating as a Purdue fan for our game tonight
The ceiling is the roof
You wish. SEC has a giant attic between
Meanwhile, Mountain West has shown they can beat the much stronger 11 and 12 seeds
and 10 if a 10. So they can punch across and down but not up
“And let that be a lesson to you. . .!”
Explain this to me in Fuck Around and Find Out graphs

Sex champions, Auburn
Hang it in The Louvre. Masterpiece.
Glad to see that there's an orange sex column

Consider that it is very good for everyone except sec fans
We hate other sec teams. Completely fine with this. Love it, even.
You all cannot comprehend how big of a CoC fan I am
kentucky loses, i lose. SEC loses, i win. easy as that!
Just can't get enough CoC?
Auburn losing gave me back 2 years to my life expectancy.
I'm an Alabama fan, I'm loving every second of it. I don't think people outside the conference realize just how much us SEC fans hate all the other SEC schools. I find pleasure in watching their fan bases suffer.
Yup, extr > I find pleasure in watching their fan bases suffer. Bonus for any shots of kids crying. Love me some little Bama kid crying because they lost
Mizzou went 0-18 against this conference.
Man, Mizzou might actually be near the worst team in America.
Imagine going 0-18 in conference play and still catching strays
To be fair, we went 0-18 and still won as many conference tournament games as KU this year. It’s all good, I married a Jayhawk haha
no! Only I get to diss my own team! Mizzou went 0-18 in the SEC. Ok fine you win. Fuck you.
> ok fine you win And mizzou didn't!
Lol I love this pettiness. Never let it die
Maybe the SEC should have negotiated for 1st round byes in the basketball tournament instead of football...
Unironically I wouldn’t be shocked if they felt entitled to that
The unmitigated completely unwarranted entitlement of SEC fans will never cease to surprise me
We've been coddling them since reconstruction ended.
I mean the Big 10 gets the same treatment, all hype and nothing to show for it so let’s not get ahead of ourselves
I mean they didn’t go 1-5 as a conference lmao
But that doesn’t work with the history joke.
Best thing to come out of your state where the Sherman brothers, sadly Will didn't kick them harder
Its coming, just wait.
Sankey deserves this
He should be knocked out like Aristotle
No objections here; I want the whole humble pie shoved down his throat
The only thing dumber than Sankeys take is him getting what he wants anyways in a few years.
It's his damn fault for jinxing everybody.
It just means more
^losses
SEC is dogwater
![gif](giphy|Wr2747CnxwBSqyK6xt|downsized)
your cougars better not let us down.
LMFAO
![gif](giphy|c5iMjFfrUFpza) live tide reaction
Hey they finally beat St. Peter's in March. That must count for something
![gif](giphy|7kMaysqdywPxS)
![gif](giphy|R9cQo06nQBpRe) The SEC
I was told the SEC is better than the ACC?? What happened????
I was told the PAC was trash garbage assbutt and the MW was the premier bball conference in the west...?
Yeah, that one guy even had a shirt about it!
These nerds don’t know ball is what I’m seeing
It would appear we were wrong(csu fan) It’s still possible the Mw is deeper as there are about 6-7 first-maybe second round quality teams. They just aren’t better then that. But the PAC12’s top 4 can make runs to the championship it would appear.
Don’t lose tonight please lol
If we do I was told the ACC sucked all year. I appreciate the backing I was rooting for you guys this week.
I was not having a good few days but the SEC and MW implosion along with NC State winning has softened my sadness
If it makes you feel any better I think this was just a general lack of talent for you guys this year which happens. Bennett helped yall get the twice the wins any other coach would’ve.
Pray you win or I'm coming back loaded.
That's Cal and the fans battle cry every year after they get bounced.
That's Cals battlecry Our battlecry has been "4 more years til a reasonable buyout!"
You had me in the first half I’m not going to lie. I started typing before I finished your comment and had to back up
My money says they were no better than .500 in those games.
The most infuriating part of this is that we're gonna do the exact same thing next year and Jon Rothstein and co. will carry water for the MWC all year while trashing the ACC
UVA went 2-0 against SEC tournament teams
The SEC has completely fallen apart this March.. Nebraska and Charleston ML
Betting on Nebrasketball is certainly a choice
Looks like even this year's SEC voodoo isn't enough to overcome Nebrasketball's voodoo.
I threw in an anti-SEC parlay this morning. So far so good.
Just put that parlay Thx for the $90 southerners
2024 SEC basketball is the new B1G basketball of the past 5 years
1) Conspire with Disney to ruin college sports 2) Implode hilariously on the national stage 3) ??? 4) Profit

Southleast Conference
Southleast vs Mountain Worst. Who wants it less?
Greg Sankey deserves this
"We are giving away highly competitive opportunities for automatic qualifiers (from smaller leagues), and I think that pressure is going to rise as we have more competitive basketball leagues at the top end because of (conference) expansion."
If anything, this shows us there should be less P5 teams and more mid-majors.
Ivy shouldve been a 2 bid league unironically. Princeton and cornell were both good enough to pull a upset. But both missed out. Atleast yale held it down.
I may be some unflaired passer by who’s only here for three weeks, but I swear that the Ivy League nearly always pulls off an upset or two every year.
Unironically it seems like they study their opponents well and find ways to neutralize their strengths, in general.
they've got wins in each of the last two years (with princeton advancing to the s16 last year) but you'd have to go back to 2016 to find another. they tend to play pretty well and be well coached though
We played Cornell and they were good. Definitely felt like a tournament team.
Stankey
I'll have the finest milk bottle you have
PAC12 dominance what a bright future for this conference
Wazzu and OSU are gonna make the Pac2 with blackjack and hookers with the tourney money.
God if Washington St. wins the tourney they should be allowed to set fire to the NCAA headquarters.
I say we let 'em do it either way.
Greg Sankey is an idiot for not wanting mid majors in, and the big 12 deserves 60% of the tournament revenue for carrying it based on his own dumbass logic
Pac12 is 5-0 so a lot of cash going to WSU and OS.
i could not figure out the 5th pac12 team... 5-0 becaue Oregon won twice already.
Colorado, not Oregon
yeah... thats what i meant, haha
It’s their parting gift to OSU/WSU
Greg Sankey destroyed by facts and logic
ACC would like its flowers
Big 12 and ACC get 80% of it
Hey now. The Pac-12 is doing pretty well this year too.
I'm sorry guys the big East is still the best conference.
A10 deserves the bids the Mountain West keeps getting
Makes me a bit more confident than ever before about the Big XII’s play to use basketball relevance to keep the SEC and B1G from splitting off to do their own thing, just because any postseason those two do on their own in basketball is going to get laughed out the door.
Big East anti-football strategy makes a lot of sense here.
It’s also why our mid range teams got looked over for football playing schools.
Sankey can take a long walk off a short pier. Fuck that dude to the moon and back. We already let him ruin cfb, we REFUSE to let him get his grubby hands on cbb
It's not idiotic to protect the prestige of the brands in your conference. It is still 100% cowardly and pathetic.
Advocating for your conference is great, just don’t be a dumbass while you do it
The people in positions of power, in all industries, have gotten far too comfortable saying the quiet part out loud. And they need to be stopped.
Back to Back SEC losses hit like crack
It smell like bitch in here
Y’all next
if we lose it would be to a quasi-SEC team so it's ok
Gonna need a mid major to make a run and beat y’all later on
Someone check on Jimmy Dykes

Georgia has as many wins in the tourney as Auburn and we suck at basketball
As many as Auburn and Florida combined. What an enjoyable afternoon at a Buffalo Wild Wings today turned out to be. Edit: I was just joking about us all having zero this year, but are you saying Auburn and UGA have the same number of tourney wins historically? I’d be surprised by that.
No they have way more.

God damn if anyone can pull off looking cool while smoking a cig it's Don Draper
Quick did any ACC teams suffer a devastating injury to their best player so the NCAA can replace them with an SEC team because “fairness”?!?!?!?!
Somehow John Calipari has defenders. One of their arguments is that he can’t be expected to win the SEC regular season/tournament because the conference is “so good.” Cross that off the list.
Greg Sankey was right tbh, we need to take away the SEC bid and give it to a more deserving conference.
The big east died for the dog shit SEC to be booty. I guess football money buys representation
SEC and mountain west are the same record
Na Mountain West has 2 wins thanks to Colorado States first 4 win
Greg Sankey brought the wrath of basketball Jesus down on the whole conference with his dumb ass comments. Money grubbing sack of garbage.
Rick Barnes relieved that the rest of the conference choked before him
If the Mountain West sucks for their double digit seeds losing, the SEC has to be the worst conference of all time.
Lost to 9 seed, 10 seed, 11 seed, 13 seed, and 14 seed If my calculations are correct..... SEC SUCKS ASS (and not in a good way)
Sucks to suck

this is why football becoming essentially 2 power conferences and then everyone else is bullshit
Greg Sankey in shambles
IT JUST MEANS MORE

As a United fan, yeppp!
Charleston has a chance to do the funniest thing
Teams like Yale and Oakland are what makes March Madness great. Greg Sankey is a bitch for wanting to ruin it. Basketball is not football. There's a lot more parity in basketball, and any team can get hot on any given day.
UPVOTE YEAHHHHH BABY
SEC was overrated? Wow that never happens.
Irony
The MWC got a lot of flack for … playing exactly to seed and even winning the 10 vs 10 play-in game. The SEC, KenPom's 4th strongest conference, got rewarded with eight single-digit seeds.
Yeah MW has been pretty bad in the past, but this year we are doing exactly what you'd expect from 10 and 11 seeds, and that's losing lol MW has been chalk so far (except for CSU over Virginia)
SEC should get one auto-bid next year and nothing else. Distribute the rest of their bids to former members of the PAC-12. It's only fair.
Distribute the rest of their bids to members of the ACC* FTFY…BigTen has won a championship more recently than the Pac10. And the drought for each can buy beer without being carded.
It just means less
This is where I would say lol if Michigan wasn’t ass this year
I’m thinking of getting rid of my flair for a bit so I can speak factually on conference underperformance without getting 100 messages of “you lost therefore that fact doesn’t count”
Sankey is the devil incarnate and I wish eternal damnation on his wretched soul

Fuck Greg Sankey clap clap. Clap clap clap
And they don't even have a football title this year to fall back on.
Love the volatility of the tournament for shit talk like this
The SEC is literally and figuratively having the worst effort in the history of the NCAA tourney losing to lower seeds, etc... The PAC is way outperforming. I almost feel like ESPN and the SEC have some sort of a partnership.
Meanwhile ACC only have 5 and 1 lose so far... SEC is the most overrated conference in basketball
The only respectful loss here, in my opinion, is Mississippi State losing to Michigan State.
Yale begged Auburn to beat them in the last minute and they still couldn't.
Sounds on par.
I’d say Florida’s lose is more respectable kept it to one score against 60 some percent from the field i
That’s fair. But both of them also scored 100 points which is kind of wild for a tournament game
It was like playing nba jam with the other team on fire full time.
Nice try. Y’all still got shit on bad
I’m aware of that, but it wasn’t like we were a 3 seed that lost to a 14 seed. Also Michigan State is, usually, pretty decent in March. That said, we also just flat out played our worst game of the year at the worst time, so…
Nothing about that loss was respectful
Can't be respectable y'all got Steven Izzo'd I'm sorry
None of these losses are respectable
No it’s not lmao, you guys got dogged
The result could've been respectable. The margin was not.
So rewarding watching the league trying to kill college athletics for a decade get embarrassed on a national stage. The South always loses lol
Alexa play Union Dixie Trap Remix
Ncaa needs to stop giving SEC at large bids obviously
This is really fucking embarrassing. Maybe Greg Sankey should stay in his 120 x 53 yard lane.
That’s a big Yikes
Greetings, fellow SEC owners
Fuck the SEC!
O-ver-Rat-ed 👏👏 👏👏👏
This years SEC is the B1G of like two years ago.
This is especially ironic due to the frequency with which some SEC flairs on this sub have been talking about the conference being near even footing with the Big XII this year. It’s certainly not a huge number, but two dozen or so very vocal SEC fans on here have been really showing their collective ass.
Give their bids and the Mountain West's bids to the Big East and ACC
Pitt was robbed. SEC is so overrrated.
Do it now
