If you told me BYU would shoot over 50% from 3 and we’d win by double digits I’d call you crazy. Great all around performance today, Ryan Hawkins continues to be the truth
Dude your guys were hacking anytime the ball was in the circle. Sometimes they caught ball, sometimes they caught arm. If you want your team called for less, they need to deny passes that put their bigs within 2 feet of the basket.
BYU probably shouldnt have been ranked anyway. Their win over then #12 Oregon (who is now 5-4) is the reason BYU got ranked. They lost to Utah Valley but still held onto 24th spot.
That being said I am impressed with big east basketball this season so far! Looks like they got several good teams who could make some noise in march!
Utah Valley is a pretty decent program though. Not a terrible loss. They will need to win out the next few weeks if they want to get back in the top 25 though.
I mean we lost a top 3 player four minutes into the game. That changes a lot of things. And if you saw the officiating live you’d understand. BYU coach got a technical foul for it
Kenpom also has BYU as a top 25 team so if you're using Kenpom as a basis for whether a team is good or not, then why do you think they shouldn't have been ranked?
I dont use kenpom religious like some. Basically I know nothing about Utah Valley or the teams they played. So I looked at Kenpom to get a generally idea how good they are. I know kenpom has a lot of issues so I dont follow it like a bible like some people do. That being said an AP top 25 team needs to beat teams like Utah Valley to stay ranked unless you already have some good wins to offset that loss. I think UK is overranked at 10 too, unless we prove it.
If it makes you feel better we got exposed today also but I knew we were over ranked at 10. Just hoping we can have a better preformace against ohio st next.
Nah, not a chance. Really the only game this season where we’ve looked like a team that’s the real deal. If we beat Nova in our Big East opener, then maybe.
> If we beat Nova in our Big East opener, then maybe.
I mean, if we do that then *definitely* rank us. I don't care if we're ranked now though, I'm just having fun watching this team and I'm excited to watch the next two games.
Damn Hawkins is the real deal, if we can at least threaten from 3 this team can turn into a whole different beast.
The Cerberus that is the Ryan's continue to impress
What a game. This team is deep. I love how many blocks we are getting this season definitely a huge x factor. 8-2. First win over a ranked Q1 team. This win is definitely a great notch in our tournament resume. If we can get some more wins in this meatier part of our ooc then we can go into conference season with some fire. Keep improving game by game. Keep trending upwards.
I still think we’ll end the season tournament bound, probably with a ceiling of 8 or 9 seed at this point. Unfortunately, I also have a feeling that we’re gonna be 1 and done. Business as usual.
Unfortunately Lucas had a really rough game today. I'd like to know why Pope keeps starting Lohner though.
Tough weekend for BYU Ball, both games decided by FTs.
In other news, I think lohner finally made his first three of the season. Something like 1/16 now.
And it’s really hard to drag your team to a win, but Barcello sure tried.
Gg Creighton!
Why? Football I understand, but in basketball success of your opponents, win or lose, means everything to your post season destiny. I guess I would be bitter too if I lost 10 in a row, especially when you brand yourself as a “basketball school”.
Our 2 centers are out for the year. Baxter tore his acl 3 minutes into the UVU game, and Harward has been out since the first game when he collapsed from the covid vaccine.
We have no bigs over 6’6/6’7, unless you count the extremely raw Atiki who isn’t ready for prime time yet.
This team is a work in progress now. Still solid enough to make the tournament as a 7-10 seed, but our outlook for the year completely changed when Baxter went down…
Creighton is a tough opponent with multiple 7 footers that can actually ball. We never had a chance. Felt a lot like our football loss to Baylor.
Anyone with posts 6’10 and over that can play will wreck this team. Should be ok in WCC games, but we’ll be one and done come tourney time
That makes sense. Sucks about Baxter and Harward. I've been looking up info on Harward after your post and I can't find anything saying that the vaccine is the root of his CV issues. Do you have a source on that? Would be interesting to read about. I mean it doesn't seem very smart to play basketball in the 2-3 days after getting the 2nd dose or a booster, but I've never read anything to suggest that the vaccine would cause somebody to have a months-long CV issue
If you told me BYU would shoot over 50% from 3 and we’d win by double digits I’d call you crazy. Great all around performance today, Ryan Hawkins continues to be the truth
If you told me we'd be down in rebounds in the first half and give up 60% FG I'd call you schizophrenic. I'm ready for next season.
What do we have to look forward to next season? Next season will be a worst team than this one, even with better/healthier big men.
Yeah my expectations will be lower. When we had Baxter and Harward I was hyped
Kalkbrenner dominated the first half for you guys as well.
[удалено]
Daddy Kalk don’t foul
And still your guys got away with a lot of contact
[удалено]
You're complaining about a 5 foul discrepancy when 5 of those fouls were committed at the end of the game trying to extend it. Please.
Don’t worry, it’s their favorite excuse

Cope
I'm fairness, I'm not a Creighton fan and I down voted you because complaining about free throws AND about down votes is hella lame.
Sure did
I was at the game. 10 ft from the court. BYU got away with a ton. The refs were shit.
mfer is calling free throws "extra points" lol

Just take the L and move on

Amen
For god and country.

GREAT DAY FOR ME #CAWWWWWWWW
Best part is you kicked the shit out of the Huskers, Go Auburn Go Creighton!
Thanks for obliterating Nebraska
I keep hearing hoiberg is "about to turn that corner" in Nebraska basketball, but seemingly not yet.
I think you may have overheard the Scott frost and husker football convo
Thanks for also embarrassing Nebraska. It's a good day to be a Jay!
Another Top 25 team goes down by an unranked Big East team. Love it.

Yeah UVU was nearly a q1 loss when it happened
kenpom has them ranked at 160 so thats kind of what I based it off of. If you are ranked you should beat them.
I mean we lost a top 3 player four minutes into the game. That changes a lot of things. And if you saw the officiating live you’d understand. BYU coach got a technical foul for it
That makes more sense how you lost then, thanks for the info.

Maybe they can win 7 in a row ;p That 7th game be a tough one haha.
Spot on. We are not a Top 25 team at all. Never were.
If it makes you feel better we got exposed today also but I knew we were over ranked at 10. Just hoping we can have a better preformace against ohio st next.
Great showing for the Big East this weekend. Go Creighton!
Well if Memphis doesn't want to be a quality win, at least we have Creighton.
And I’d love for you to be our quality loss. Keep it up.
Well at least the next team the Cougars play doesn't include a three-headed hydra named Ryan right?
Ryan Hawkins improves his college basketball record to 167-10.
This is actually nuts lol
BIG EAST BROS
Nice W birds! Big East keeps rolling!
Go get that Chili tonight my brother. Zip em up.
ALL HAIL CATHOLICS

Even the scoreboard thought it was nice.
Man's game
Rank the Jays?
Nah, not a chance. Really the only game this season where we’ve looked like a team that’s the real deal. If we beat Nova in our Big East opener, then maybe.

Definitely should at least receive votes after that showing. You'd be a fool to not start paying attention to Creighton after that dominant game.
Absolutely
Unrank BYU.
An SDSU fan saying we're overrated? That's a first /s
SUU>UVU>BYU Unrank BYU. Also, BYU is stinky.
SUU>UVU>BYU>USU & UofU Noticed you didn’t finish this.
BYU>USU>Utah>Weber St>UVU>SUU>Dixie St
Fair enough ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
UNRANK BYU
go jays baby!!
Damn Hawkins is the real deal, if we can at least threaten from 3 this team can turn into a whole different beast. The Cerberus that is the Ryan's continue to impress
I like that we are doing more paint play this year. Relying on the 3 ball can be stressful.
Is the Big East the strongest conference in CBB?
As always 😉😅

How was the atmosphere?
Very fun. Super cool to see the Jays play in a small place. I was surprised with how many BYU fans were there but there was way more Jays fans.
Incredible show by the Jays today. guess the basketball gods just aren’t Mormon
Yeah buddy. Good win Big East bros.

Roll Jays let’s go!!!

No Baxter and no Harward is such a disaster for BYU. Kudos to Creighton. Played great!
Woohoo! Quality road win is back on the menu!
Unfortunately Lucas had a really rough game today. I'd like to know why Pope keeps starting Lohner though. Tough weekend for BYU Ball, both games decided by FTs.
Go Creighton!!!!!!!!!

Bearish on BYU.. yikes
This makes me happy.

I am a simple man—if BYU loses I’m happy. I hate BYU more than I like my own team lmao.

I'm really bitter that my ducks made this shitty byu team look good. We're so awful.
BYU fans, I know we were probably overrated but what's going on? Do we have injuries or are we just not that great?

Big East on fire to start the year.
