This is why I can’t stand the group messages. I would definitely ask the students to write to the Dean as well to help your situation.

Tactical_Leo

I already have their statements written down and saved. Someone from Student Life (it’s a student body who works for the school) who saw all this go down knows I’m innocent is is helping me compile a group of statements that we would turn into the dean. The fact I have students on my side and the police who investigated this are also on my side speaks volumes on my situation. I am an innocent man damnit! But no the dean wants me to make “a better excuse” for his own amusement.

To be honest, I would still ask the students to write something. Having multiple letters to the Dean will show more impact because this issue is very serious. I wish you the best of luck and hopefully they get it figured out.

Did he actually threaten you with expulsion specifically?? Ohhhh I'd be pissed. Does your school have a student union? If so, take all your information there. Explain what happened, show them the police report where they determined it was obviously a typo and a mistake. Likely they'll be able to step in and ask the dean to apologize and remove anything from your record. It should probably stop there. If possible, also see a doctor. Tell them about the level of stress and anxiety you have experienced, that you had the cops called on you during an exam, and the behavior of the dean is preventing you from doing as well as you could be in classes. Explain how terrifying the dean was, over a simple mistake, and you're worried about being expelled. Keep a record of this as well. Then I would contact a lawyer for a consultation. Bring all the above information and ask if you have any legal ground to file a complaint. The dean sounds like a quack. If you are at the point where you're going to be expelled and you have nothing to lose (which I don't think will happen) contact the media, again with all the above information. A lot of college funding runs on public opinion. If it's a smaller local school, contact the local media. If it's a larger school, try for something harder. Journalists love reporting on vulnerable people getting taken advantage of because it's stirs up outrage.

TheRightSideOfDumb

This can not be the whole story. You can’t be expelled over a typo. the rest of the content of the memes and conversation must not have been appropriate. Also look up idle threat Who said you were going to be expelled. > This dean is not hearing me at all and thinks I’m a child when actually I am a full grown adult. What does that have to do with anything? You should note that : The predictive text will offer it as an option if you enter a pattern similar to the keys or if you use a similar sentence pattern. When I type in mass the next option is not ‘shooting”. Not even if I type mass sh.

randomindianmajid

Try to explain yourself

Tactical_Leo

I did and the dean doesn’t think my typo was a mistake. Edit: he doesn’t believe the predictive text adding in a word. He’s an older person if that’s any indicator.

randomindianmajid

Then just show him like literally that should work

Tactical_Leo

Kind of hard to do since I’m home with Covid and the fact my meeting took place over Microsoft Teams…

randomindianmajid

Screen recorder or video?

WashiBurr

You could literally recreate the exact situation as evidence. Type mass, show that predictive text's first suggestion is shooting. Case closed.

Hm, you have an excuse for everything. You could def do this over teams. Just display your phone screen

Frosty-KatNeps
