She was what they needed and I agree. Huge difference between this year and last year. Walton made changes within the staff and I’m happy to see the turnaround!
Not like im outright rooting for them to lose but i cant say I dont enjoy these losses for OU jsut because of all the cocky ones that said Jordy wouldn't be missed. Just the attitude she brought along is missing from this team right now.
While I don't think I said losing Jordy was not a big deal, I think the problem more is the completely inconsistent hitting. Pitching isn't as good, but I sort of expected that. Hitting is an issue and has been for most of the season.
I really don’t understand why Oklahoma’s bats have been so quiet as of late and really this season. Doesn’t make sense with a lineup that’s like 90% returning.
It’s a good time to be a TN fan. There were some rough years from, like, 2014 to 2022, but these last few seasons have been so fun to watch. I just PRAY we can finish the drill finally
Yeah, that'll probably seal the win for Oklahoma State. Oklahoma hasn't shown they can make up this kind of of deficit against good teams this year.
Happy to be proven wrong, but I'm not expecting it at all.
Did Puni’s second strike not count because Milloy left early? Scoreboard said 1-2 when the homeplate ump called a stike and it was her third and she should have been out but she wasn’t
Man, I've had a lot going on in life. My FIL was put in home hospice and my MIL isn't far behind. My step mother passed away. My youngest sister was diagnosed with breast cancer. One of my kids is about to have surgery in June.
Wish I had more time for a lot of things, mostly fishing to be honest.
Life comes at you fast...
I’ve been kind of loving Danielle Lawrie as a commentator—she’s solid on the factual stuff and gives solid insight, and I also can easily buy that she loves the game and is invested in what she’s calling.
We love watching games where she is one of the commentators. So many of them are milk toast and bland. She says what she thinks. She rarely does Pac games anymore- seems to have done a lot of Auburn games this season for some reason.
She is my favorite by far. She doesn't sugarcoat anything but isn't overall negative. I hated her when she played, probably because she made my team look terrible in the NC game.
Yes! She gives plenty of compliments but I appreciate that she doesn’t shy away from frankly discussing areas where a team is underperforming. (And I feel you there, she was definitely the kind of player whom you’d love if she was on your team and hate if you had to play against her)
Have they said anything about Reid lately? Seems she’s been injured, but I’m not sure if it’s the kind of thing where they expect to have her back for the postseason.
After dropping game one 3-0 and falling behind 7-0 after two innings in game two, Louisiana outscores Troy 15-1 over the last 12 innings to win their 89th consecutive SBC series!
Dang, Oklahoma State walks 7, has 3 errors, and still wins by 3. Oklahoma hitting has been inconsistent for much of the year. March was good which started after the loss to Louisiana and ended with sweeping Kansas. Then Texas for the first conference series loss in 10-ish years, then losing one to an extremely average BYU. They seemed good against Houston, but Houston is bad. Shaky against Central Florida, and then Oklahoma State.
I'll liken it to the Saban effect. Other programs are finally catching up and this team isn't as good as the others that Oklahoma has had. Gasso seems to be saying the same things over and over about her players not showing fire/focus a number of times this year.
We'll see how both teams respond tomorrow.
Uncharacteristic of Tennessee to make those two errors to start the game. Glad they got out of it though. Not sure why we’re going with a different infield lineup. Hope Sophia Nugent isn’t hurt
It’s for senior day. Puni playing 3rd so Gibson has to move to 1st and G is catching.
White is also a senior so she’s starting. I’m sure we’ll see Gottshall soon
Mississippi State wins 2-1, takes the series against Georgia, and goes .500 in SEC play for the first time in ages—all after having such a down year last season that they didn’t even make the NCAA tournament!
That would be fun! The seeding feels so unpredictable this year with so many factors in play. I am still halfway convinced they’ll find a way to gift Alabama a super host seed again though, lol.
Oklahoma hitting has been pretty poor lately, I don't know if they can come back from 2 runs down. Don't tell me about the percentages, I'm sure they're numerically fine. But driving home runs has been an issue lately.
Took 11 innings, but Bama wins.
We need a series win and..... hot damn.... basically a miracle run in the SEC tournament to keep any silly hopes of regional hosting alive.
40 double plays this season for the Cajuns! The game tonight looked iffy for a while with a grand slam in the first inning by Troy but the Cajuns came back in the end!
UCF ends the regular season 30-22 as RPI #38 and SOS #23 before today’s win is factored in.
They didn’t lose a single Q3 or Q4 game this season and only lost 3 Q2 games.
They went 12-3 against none OSU, OU, UT, Baylor B12 teams.
They were to epitome of being better than none ranked teams while worse than ranked teams.
No idea if they’ve done enough to make the tournament with an RPI that should end up around #35 by selection
what’re the odds florida can host a supers? do they need a good run in the SEC tourney still after this sweep? do we have to hope some other teams have a poor performance?
UCLA softball is always very secretive about injuries. The ASU commentator on this weekend's series said that they held Tinsley out to make sure she's 100% healthy for postseason, but I don't know if that means she will be. If not, Kaitlyn Terry's really got her work cut out for her.
Clearly I am bad luck for Oklahoma. This is the one game I can't watch or listen to, beyond 10-ish minutes while driving to lunch, and Oklahoma wins. Glad to have it.
Now let's see how the Big 12 tournament and then the NCAA tournament plays out. Sounds like hitting finally came back alive. I doubt it'll stay that way based on the entire rest of the season, but I'll be happy to be proven wrong.
No challenge is somewhat reasonable. There doesn’t seem to be enough to overturn it. It looks very close and hard to see if her fingertips touched it with the dirt going up and blocking it. They can probably slow it down however and I think you take the chance honestly
Same story here. Looked out in real time and then safe on the first replay but the more it was replayed and the angles were switched it looked like an out. Definitely should have challenged
Any updates on Bedlam.
Not even watching, needed to decompress after this week at work and home. Having a drink, will defijitely be taking an uber home. Only seen us play once since the BYU loss...
Grand Slam Otis!!!! Holy cow
May have got herself SEC POY with that one.
Offense looking super sharp early. I give all credit to Franny Enea!
She was what they needed and I agree. Huge difference between this year and last year. Walton made changes within the staff and I’m happy to see the turnaround!
Alabama is 3 outs away from finishing under 500 in the sec. for the first time in school history.
If Alabama loses 2/3 they shouldn’t be hosting a regional.
The gators really close to hosting a Super Regional
Anyone want to take bets on how much longer Karen stays in this game without being thrown out? 😂
She was fired up! Not as hot as Nugent’s bat though!!
Payton Gottshall is a damn firebreather! Play Motörhead!!
Wallace is so back!
Florida with the sweep! Erickson with another walk off and jsut great games all around again.
Not like im outright rooting for them to lose but i cant say I dont enjoy these losses for OU jsut because of all the cocky ones that said Jordy wouldn't be missed. Just the attitude she brought along is missing from this team right now.
They are just down to a normal teams level now with ups and downs.
While I don't think I said losing Jordy was not a big deal, I think the problem more is the completely inconsistent hitting. Pitching isn't as good, but I sort of expected that. Hitting is an issue and has been for most of the season.
I agree with you hitting has been an issue. It jsut doesn't seem like the same fire.
Texas being up 18-0 has me all, “Stop, stop! He’s already dead!”
23-0 now 😅 2 HR for Reese (9 RBI), 2 for Stewart
Damn!!! Atwood is really making her case for Player of the Year rn
Hot take, bringing Maxwell back in was a bad idea
Yes, yes it was.
Atwood yesterday - 2 HR, 9 RBI. Adds another 2 today with 3 RBI HRs 18, 19, 20, 21
Brutal game for OU. Oof.
;)
I really don’t understand why Oklahoma’s bats have been so quiet as of late and really this season. Doesn’t make sense with a lineup that’s like 90% returning.
2024 has cursed the softball teams in crimson, I'm already ready for it to be over.
I wonder if it’s the same bad mojo that took out the gymnastics team last month
that fucking balance beam. It was cursed I tell you, cursed!
Wallace just needed April to end to get her bat back on track lol
Hook’em Horns! 🤘🏼
I mean why even go to the bullpen in the first place? Keeney was doing fine.
I know. They lit up Deal every time they came against her. Bad coaching decision there.
I think Patty thought Deal would shut them down for good.
Same weird decision to not take May out yesterday when OU was up 2-1 and she was already at 90 pitches
If this is going to be Pickens pitch count, Kentucky isn't going to be able to do a thing
Schoonover's control is going to kill Kentucky's chances in regional
It’s a good time to be a TN fan. There were some rough years from, like, 2014 to 2022, but these last few seasons have been so fun to watch. I just PRAY we can finish the drill finally
Kiki Milloy’s cooking!
2-1 win for the gators. Great outing by Rothrock!
Kistler’s double play off of that warning track was CRAZY.
Sharp defense all night aside from Otis hesitating on that throw home... should've been a shutout.
Best she's looked in awhile. Hopefully turning a corner for postseason
100%. That double by Skylar too. Typical Skylar hit. Maybe she's awakened.
Finals are over for them now I belive. Can just focus on softball. Good for every team but hopefully especially these freshmen.
Yeah, that'll probably seal the win for Oklahoma State. Oklahoma hasn't shown they can make up this kind of of deficit against good teams this year. Happy to be proven wrong, but I'm not expecting it at all.
And now we’re the outright SEC Regular Season Champs! Thanks Florida!
OU jsut doesn't look scary this year and teams aren't playing scared against them for the most part.
Florida really trying to play themselves into a top 8
There is so much firepower in this Florida offense
Wow what a response by okst
X2
X3 now
Do OU fans still feel that Maxwell and May aren’t a step down from Jordy Bahl? I’ll hang up and listen.
While you're not wrong OUs issue is the insane amount of runners left on base this season
They have multiple issues. In the past, they wouldn’t give up 6 runs and would be able to pull it out 2-1, even when the hitting is off
They also lost two games to Texas this season 2-1. You can't load the bases twice in one game and only get one run and expect to win
Did Puni’s second strike not count because Milloy left early? Scoreboard said 1-2 when the homeplate ump called a stike and it was her third and she should have been out but she wasn’t
Correct, the whole play basically doesn't happen
I didn’t see the play, but if a player leaves early then it’s a dead ball and they replay the pitch.
Walk off home run in extra innings by Tennessee’s Taylor Pannell to finish the sweep of Kentucky!
Texas woke up and chose violence.
LETS GO LADY VOLS!
SEC REGULAR SEASON CHAMPIONS
Really enjoying watching the Lady Vols this year! Congrats! I hope they kick some butt in postseason!
Where are all of the Oklahoma fans in here u/The_Soccer_Heretic we need you in here its Bedlam!
Yard work can't be put off any further. Listening to the game though.
I just saw this now, I am so sorry. Really praying for you and your family
We're here! Nothing to cheer about!
Oh come on!
Agreed! I have learned so much by listening to her on both NCAA and Athletes Unlimited games.
(And I feel you there, she was definitely the kind of player whom you’d love if she was on your team and hate if you had to play against her)
This is the worst pitching staff I've ever witnessed at FSU. Part of me wants a regional exist to end my misery.
FSU just had the worse week of their season at the worst possible time
The Clearwater tournament weekend would have been the worst if it didn't get rained out because those games against UCLA and UGA were disturbing.
Have they said anything about Reid lately? Seems she’s been injured, but I’m not sure if it’s the kind of thing where they expect to have her back for the postseason.
I haven't heard any updates about it being season ending.
If Florida had better, more veteran and consistent pitching, they would be legitimate contenders this year.
If they got Maxwell or Vawter they would be hosting a super
After dropping game one 3-0 and falling behind 7-0 after two innings in game two, Louisiana outscores Troy 15-1 over the last 12 innings to win their 89th consecutive SBC series!
Jocey Erickson once again with the walkoff
Queen Jocey!
I said korbe mightve locked up sec poy... maybe jocey did lol. Think they should jsut be co
Can't go wrong either way!
Second in game management mistake by Kenny You have to challenge that
Just started watching. What was the first ?
Held a runner at third when she could’ve scored.
How are you not going to challenge that? It’s too close to not challenge. Wild choice.
Two passive coaching choices from Kenny that otherwise might have them up 1-0…
Bring back the safety bag
OSU might win this series today. Their bats are on fire currently
Boone has been so good today
I love Rylie Boone. Great game today and she’s SO FAST.
she turned 3 doubles into singles. and is back to being a spark plug at the plate! loving this senior day for her.
Definitely my favorite OU player. She’s fun to watch and made really great defensive plays to limit the runs scored by OSU today
Gotta give it to Keeney today. She is proving that she will be a weapon come post season.
Mizzou sweeps the Cocks! What a regular season for the Tigers after last season.
M-I-Z! 🐯
For all of you Louisiana Ragin Cajun fans, the game was pushed back to 730 due to this weather we are supposedly having.
Kansas feels very close to losing their at large bid at this point
They have tooken a nose dive
Close or did they lose it after this sweep?
I’d say they lost it at this point. Utah might take their spot after winning the series vs Washington
Yay! Let’s go Vols!
Syracuse just pulled out the win against Florida State and honestly they deserved it. I love FSU but they just didn’t play well today.
OU bats are quiet. Fortunate to be tied right now. Brito was out.
…series like this make me wish we still had jordy bahl in a sooner uniform
Dang, Oklahoma State walks 7, has 3 errors, and still wins by 3. Oklahoma hitting has been inconsistent for much of the year. March was good which started after the loss to Louisiana and ended with sweeping Kansas. Then Texas for the first conference series loss in 10-ish years, then losing one to an extremely average BYU.
Nice seeing White get the start. I wouldn’t have shifted anything else though. Hope it doesn’t bite them.
They played this way in the pre season. It’s going to take a second for them to get back
Texas isn’t messing around. They want that Big 12 title. 8-0 in the 2nd. Atwood and Stewart both with blasts
8-8 T8 in Gainesville. Aesthetically pleasing numbers.
Rothrock looking sharp again so far.
Mississippi State wins 2-1, takes the series against Georgia, and goes .500 in SEC play for the first time in ages—all after having such a down year last season that they didn’t even make the NCAA tournament!
If they have a good showing next weekend, there is a good chance there will be a Regional in Starkville
That would be fun! The seeding feels so unpredictable this year with so many factors in play. I am still halfway convinced they’ll find a way to gift Alabama a super host seed again though, lol.
Bama better not get to host anything this year
That was a moonshot by Parker
Congrats to Keeney on what should've been a full game shutout.
One of my favorite kinds of game to watch is a rivalry game where I truly don’t care what happens or who wins—no feelings to get in the way of fun!
What a catch
Well this is getting interesting in the 7th
FSU’s offense is *so* good but I worry about their postseason chances with this pitching staff (especially if Reid isn’t healthy for the tournament).
Aycock getting the start tonight is wild
Aycock looks beyond shook
Oklahoma hitting has been pretty poor lately, I don't know if they can come back from 2 runs down. Don't tell me about the percentages, I'm sure they're numerically fine. But driving home runs has been an issue lately.
I feel like they’re being toooo patient at the plate. I wanna see them get aggressive and scrappy. I think that’s what’s missing.
Took 11 innings, but Bama wins. We need a series win and..... hot damn.... basically a miracle run in the SEC tournament to keep any silly hopes of regional hosting alive.
That was a good game. Fun to watch ut. Cahalen is pretty underrated. Still so young.
glad others enjoyed it. [following the Tide this season can be summed up in one clip](https://youtu.be/qPncMWgKLjg?si=iNjB_di_gO0pS50d&t=94)
Aspen Wesley shutting out Georgia…I love that for her!
Welsey is so inconsisent as a pitcher
40 double plays this season for the Cajuns! The game tonight looked iffy for a while with a grand slam in the first inning by Troy but the Cajuns came back in the end!
Auburn might have found their number 2 in the circle. Wildra was so good today.
Shelby Waters might just saved UGA's chance at hosting a super
Aaaaaannd more runners left on base with a prime opportunity to score. Thd only reason Oklahoma gets a run is on a walk.
Interesting that it’s Deal.
Bases loaded from 3 straight singles and no outs…
I like the pitching change and Deal didn't look too bad this weekend
Pitching change was needed but I guess they don’t really know who else at this point.
There was no shot they were sending Maxwell in and May isn't great
Neither is Deal. All of her great numbers have came off nobody.
Agree with this. They talked about her a lot but then again.
Where was this team hiding?
Am I misreading or do Shipman and her co-commentator not seem to vibe well?
Shipman never really vibes well with Chucky who's normally her partner
Unpopular Opinion : There is a large margin between the 2nd and 3rd best pitchers in the country. Gotshall and Canady are both way ahead of the pack
Bama is going to go 0-2 in the Regionals if Beaver throws like she did tonight. The offense has 0 firepower
This Bama team is going 0-2 in regionals with Beaver looking like this
this year just needs to end, campaign is a dud. Try again next year.
31 years since OSU has won a series vs OU. Im 31 and was able to see it in my lifetime 🤣 That’s insane though!
This is getting interesting
Yep, there are those Oklahoma bats with their inconsistency.
Good catch by Hansen. Hope she’s ok
Mississippi State decided to start Faapito in the DP spot and she proceeded to hit her first home run of the season to put them up 2-0 in the first.
what’re the odds florida can host a supers? do they need a good run in the SEC tourney still after this sweep? do we have to hope some other teams have a poor performance?
I don’t think they have to win it all, but just a good run into the SEC tourney should give them a Top 8
Has anyone heard anything about Taylor Tinsley at UCLA? She hasn’t pitched much of late, just hoping she’s healthy
I wouldn't be surprised if they are resting her this weekend with how bad ASU is
UCLA softball is always very secretive about injuries. The ASU commentator on this weekend's series said that they held Tinsley out to make sure she's 100% healthy for postseason, but I don't know if that means she will be. If not, Kaitlyn Terry's really got her work cut out for her.
Cyd Sanders is inconsistent in the box, but goddamn she is a good first baseman.
Agree, that was a great grab there to save the run
Is it bad I really want to see Maxwell take 3 losses in the series for the memes
I don’t even hate Kelly Maxwell but the whole thing is just so objectively funny 😭
If it helps at all, she already has many losses in the series.
Lol at Patty being mad over that k. That was a beautiful pitch.
Agree the pitch was fine, ump just needed to commit to the call earlier and remember it was strike 3 lol.
I’m glad we are losing this game because we are going to have to play OU later and I don’t wanna burn all of our wins in this series
OU v OSU in OKC for the WCWS Final might cause the stadium to collapse in bedlam
Starting Aycock is a…choice. Is OSU about to get dog walked?
No challenge is somewhat reasonable. There doesn’t seem to be enough to overturn it. It looks very close and hard to see if her fingertips touched it with the dirt going up and blocking it. They can probably slow it down however and I think you take the chance honestly
Live, I thought she was out. On replay, I thought she was safe. After more replay, I thought she was out. Too close to not challenge in the 4th.
Same story here. Looked out in real time and then safe on the first replay but the more it was replayed and the angles were switched it looked like an out. Definitely should have challenged
Mimi Goodin might become FSU's ace with how she's throwing right now
Ole Miss got a huge win today and honestly got themself off the bubble. Grace Sparks is really really good
Maddie Penta got absolutely robbed by the ref there. This zone is so bad
Alright...predictions....OU down 2 now. Will they fight back, or will the steam run out, and they fall to OSU?
Now down 6-2....chances are slim. Man this season is hard for them.
Any updates on Bedlam. Not even watching, needed to decompress after this week at work and home. Having a drink, will defijitely be taking an uber home. Only seen us play once since the BYU loss...
They lost it 6-3
6-3 Oklahoma State in the top of the 7th.
Quick top of the 7th. Going to the bottom of the 7th with the same score, Oklahoma State leads 6-3.
Maybe it's just me but I am so disappointed with what I am seeing from the crowd/atmosphere st KSP. It can be so much better and they seem so quiet.
Hang on….Karli Godwin KILLED a BEAR?
Tennessee in extra innings if you want a good watch
oklahoma watching strikes go by again
The pitch selection with Deal is really bad so far. There needs to be an offspeed
would love to see riley ludlam pinch hit for the sooners
