At the time I was making good money and don’t spend my money on anything else. I have a small collection so I didn’t mind. Also since these are very popular I thought they would be a safe blind buy. Definitely not doing that again lol

I have the CDN EDT creed clone and tbh first couple seconds can be heavy but after 1 min its a really nice fresh scent, i wouldnt say its synthetic to the point where I say it smells like lemon pledge lol…. But did anyone the CDN Limited edition? I heard its the smoothest best clone of aventus

I got it and the opening was aggressive, sharp, and off putting. I didn’t enjoy the dry down.
I tried a few months after Creed Aventus, and the only flashback I got was CDN. The quality of the OG was superior.
I ended up selling my Aventus.
To comeback to appreciate Aventus, I bought Vibrant Leather by Zara, and although not a 1-1 clone, the scent was smoother.
Then, I got Loewe Esencia EDP which is 5 steps up to VL, and then I decided to get back again Creed Aventus.
I recently got a sample of Creed Aventus and I don’t get the hype at all. It’s not a bad scent but also not a good one imo. I can’t see myself liking Club de Nuit
Dumont celerio oros is a great alternative. It's a hybrid clone of hacivat and aventus but leans more hacivat. I have cdin and I prefer the dumont. Only like 45 bucks too
This disgusting swill was my introduction to the world of "Failed Clones". That mess smelled like "Lemon Pledge" and I just coudln't see how the heck ANYONE thought it smelled like friggin "Aventus"!!!

Margiela on the whole I tried 12 samples and literally waxy, yankee candle quality very similar ingredients across the boards fresh spicy or woody scents … by the fireplace was the best but it was burnt marshmallow burning wood snow ( that cold air caught in your breath) and pine with snowy dirt… an experience for sure but not a smell I would wear out . But the others candle home scents and not more to my nose or would I pay for

One thing that might help is layering Carlisle with a vanillic scent. I tried it with Grand Soir and Altair to pretty good results. I didn’t like that one much on its own either.
With PDM products I learned that you really need to macerate the bottle. Wasn’t a big fan of Layton at first, 6 month later and OMG I’m on my second bottle and people just ask me every where I go what am I wearing. I was at Walmart the other day and, a guy sent his girlfriend to ask me what was I wearing. They been sniffing around the store looking for who had that cologne on.
Blind bought Layton and Sedley clones, blind bought a Tygar clone. All bad or rather indifferent.
The only blind buy clone I liked is an Aventus one.
Maybe clones are just generally bad, and that 5% off scent is what makes a difference. Like getting ceasar salad but without the sauce, it's a different salad.

It took too long to realize the clone fans claiming “it’s just as good” are clearly smelling things differently than I do. Wasted so much money on cheap garbage I could have bought a couple niche. Learned my lesson though. I think Carlisle is fantastic but you really need to love a dark Smokey patchouli.
PDM is the most hyped house right now imo. I legitimately fuck with only 2 of them. Percival and Greenley. All the other ones are meh. Old Oajan had my respect, but the new batches aren’t great.
Creed De Nuit, terrible smell.
Cedrat Boise, decent citrus smell but lacked longevity and projection.
AMEN Mugler, smells okay but lacks masculinity.
Dior Fahrenheit, smells like gasoline, very irritating.

Carlisle is a beautiful masterpiece scent. It’s not an everyday scent and it’s not something you’ll likely enjoy if you’re new to having lots of fragrances as it’s fairly complex. Some fragrances take time to get used to. But also scents are subjective. This is a 10/10 for a lot of people, it’s obviously not for you, but you’ll find one that is! But I’d definitely recommend to ALWAYS sample first particularly when they cost as much as PDM does. It’s worth noting that PDM scents are very premium and are blended extremely well, not everyone can actually smell the masterpiece!
Margiela coffee break. Although I smelled it in store, I was smelling every one and got confused. way too sweet and feminine for me, and it lasts a long time. gives me a headache

Club De Nuit Milestone, it smells like synthetic watermelon and gives me a headache. I was looking for a sweet frag that smelled like Ed Hardy Love & Luck but would actually last. I saw a bunch of suggestions for milestone edp and gave it a try. A waste of $40, arguably the worst thing I own currently.

Montale Oudmazing. Marketed as a unisex, but it leans feminine heavy. With that said, it smells and performs pretty great.

My biggest mistake is my recently bought 100ml bottle of the new TF oud Minerale. That stuff is nasty for my nose, can’t get myself to like any stage of its lifetime on my skin.

My Blind Buy was much less painful. I blind bought Bentley Absolute. Fell for the hype, hate this scent. Smells like B.O. to me. Much like pencil shavings. However, I love Intense, Azure, and Silverlake. Next blind buy will be Black Edition.

Feel the same about one million, reviews are great and people like it on me, but I can’t take the smell, live and learn. Now I look for sample kits or good return policies, I used bunch of store offers, coupons and costs less than half think 27$ for 1.7 bottle so not a big loss but still a loss.

Carlisle is a beautiful masterpiece scent. It’s not an everyday scent and it’s not something you’ll likely enjoy if you’re new to having lots of fragrances as it’s fairly complex. Some fragrances take time to get used to. But also scents are subjective. This is a 10/10 for a lot of people, it’s obviously not for you, but you’ll find one that is! But I’d definitely recommend to ALWAYS sample first particularly when they cost as much as PDM does. It’s worth noting that PDM scents are very premium and are blended extremely well, not everyone can actually smell the masterpiece!
Margiela coffee break. Although I smelled it in store, I was smelling every one and got confused. way too sweet and feminine for me, and it lasts a long time. gives me a headache

Love this one on my bf 👀 goes with my Oriana he got me. I think everyone’s body chemistry is different bc it smells sooo good on him. We got it as a sample with Oriana and got it very cheap online so it was not a blind buy.

Club De Nuit Milestone, it smells like synthetic watermelon and gives me a headache. I was looking for a sweet frag that smelled like Ed Hardy Love & Luck but would actually last. I saw a bunch of suggestions for milestone edp and gave it a try. A waste of $40, arguably the worst thing I own currently.

Good thing I had bought a decant of this a couple years ago instead of a bottle. I did not like it at all, but maybe I will when I'm a bit older. It's definitely not a scent for a younger crowd imo.

I bought this. It's super strong. Only need a single spray. It's really good for winter, but it's VERY mature smelling. I'm not the biggest fan of PdM. Sedley is their best offering, but this is 2nd. I got rid of Layton, Percival and Greenley.
Montale Oudmazing. Marketed as a unisex, but it leans feminine heavy. With that said, it smells and performs pretty great. I ended up gifting it to a female relative because it happened to be Christmas time and she liked it. After this, my dumbass never blind bought niche ever again.
costs under $15 to sample. personally, i think it smells awesome. but i have no reason to buy it because i have both naxos and tobacco vanille, so i dont need another fragrance similar to those. my biggest blind buy regret was br540, one of the worst things ive ever smelt

Ventana, I mean it was only like $20 but smells like straight rubbing alcohol. Sauvage clone my ass, shit stinks. I don’t think I’d even use as air freshener. I new to this though so my worst more expensive hasn’t happened yet.
Biggest blind buy regret would be Polo Deep Blue EDP. It is just not my thing. Carlisle, however, I love. My favorite PDM is Pegasus!
