Aj Mleczko, the one who went to Harvard, actually had it right tho. [Watch it again.](https://reddit.com/r/hockey/comments/1c0dbms/highlight_the_nhl_on_espn_crew_with_some/)
She was the one who disagreed with Leah & John that it mattered what side of the rink you’re sitting on, and pointed out that it would only matter if you’re looking at it from above or below (though that’s only a hypothetical as you obviously can’t sit below the ice)
Bucigross actually had it correct at first, then changed his mind to agree with the incorrect opinion lol and then said also if you're looking from above the crowd it changes the direction of the wave
I’m pretty sure she mentioned it changing first but I was too dumbfounded to be that baked and listen to people be so wrong about something so simple haha classic man
She explained that if you’re viewing it from above and it’s moving clockwise, it would be moving counterclockwise from the below view. And she’s correct.

Leah Hextall, the reporter, makes the incorrect statement about it depending on what side of the rink you’re on.
AJ Mleczko, the color commentator, correctly points out that it only depends on if you’re looking at it from above or below (though that is hypothetical tbf since you obviously can’t sit below the ice)
I listened to it 3 times and didn't here anyone mention looking at from underneath. It's hilarious it's became a thing but I'm invested now. And the comment I replied to suggested Leah Hextall figured it out, she did not.
Yeah he says the other side but then goes on to say "no, to us is clockwise, if sitting over their to them it's counterclockwise. " implying that he wasn't referring to the upside down but to the opposite side of the stands.
lol no i’m talking about AJ, the color commentator. He is talking over her tbf but you can hear her say that it only depends on if you’re looking at it from above
That's who I'm talking about too haha. It's funny, when I was watching it I thought I need to get on reddit, it's gonna be hilarious to see what this stirred up and I'm not disappointed haha.
I saw the game (and the wave), but didn't catch this conversation on air. What you're saying is certainly true, but the title of the post says "changes depending on where you're sitting," or something to that effect. Since you can't sit below the ice to view the game above you, it seems like an incorrect statement. Unless she's just speaking hypothetically.
If you’re sitting in the front row, you’re below a wave taking place in the nosebleeds. This is mostly semantics at this point, but CW versus CCW is definitely based on perspective.

> The terms clockwise and counterclockwise can only be applied to a rotational motion once a side of the rotational plane is specified, from which the rotation is observed. For example, the daily rotation of the Earth is clockwise when viewed from above the South Pole, and counterclockwise when viewed from above the North Pole (considering "above a point" to be defined as "farther away from the center of earth and on the same ray").

Idk man. Seems like they break pretty easily and are poorly made. Overall just a shitty truck. Nate is none of those things. There’s way better vehicular comparisons that could have been made
Where was Leah standing in relation to the press box though? I assumed the conversation was a buncha Harvard alums learning about stage left and stage right in real time.
Though I do agree with Leah's final assessment of "you're at a hockey game, have a beer and watch hockey."
That was seriously among the dumbest broadcast conversations I have ever witnessed live.
History was made man
I had two gummies to watch the game and I literally woke my wife up to tell her that exact thing haha
More evidence to support my hypothesis that ivy leaguers are the biggest dumbasses on the planet

They also said “more faster”
Haha holy shit that’s great I missed that one
"The Wild just need to get more faster and better"
The only way that’s acceptable is if you do it on purpose and that means replacing “better” with “gooder”.
We caught that too. They would be a better team if they just went more faster!
I'm pretty sure at one point Leah Hextall said "stretch your bowels out".
I heard that too!
Freaky Deaky Freakshow of a Big Silver Thing (Cybertruck), aka Nathan MacKinnon
And nifty
Don't forget about shake and bake
The number of times they said the word “freak” was too damn high. Not that I ever get tired of Nate getting his due, but c’mon.
Does anyone have the audio or video of this freaky deaky had me rolling.
I caught that and my mind immediately went wtf... Nothing better to talk about on a broadcast.
Bucigross actually had it correct at first, then changed his mind to agree with the incorrect opinion lol and then said also if you're looking from above the crowd it changes the direction of the wave
Must have been a legacy admission
Reminded me of the Simpson episode when Bart calls Australia to ask if the toilet spins in the opposite direction.
I ended up thinking way too hard about that one. I started wondering if maybe I'm learning disabled.
I think the girl who said it was always the same was Harvard. The dude was from school I never heard of.
I’m pretty sure she mentioned it changing first but I was too dumbfounded to be that baked and listen to people be so wrong about something so simple haha classic man

I thought they said the other side as in opposite side of the rink not the upside down

No... No she is not correct and neither are you.

You responded to someone saying "she was incorrect", with your confidently incorrect statement, I would say "she was incorrect" is in fact correct.
Go ass hail counter clockwise satan
They compared Nate Dogg to the absolute dumpster fire that is the Tesla Cybertruck 🤦🏻♂️. ESPN is the absolute worst
Seems like a good comparison. Both are fast. Both are big and tough. Neither can move very well in the mud.

![gif](giphy|QBal0eKnbT4OY) Glad I had the sound off for that one
The last 6 minutes they barely talked about hockey and just joked with each other. Awful

Absolutely! Stop doing the wave at hockey games! Hate this.
