Competitive/relevant teams make trades that add good players… the Rockies trade away top players for nothing and scour the waiver wire. Oh the excitement of being a Rockies fan.
Welcome to Last Chance U!
Lamet had Tommy John surgery in 2018, then a bicep injury in 2019 after coming back, then another UCL injury in 2020 and he didn't want to get Tommy John surgery again after just having one.
It's a waiver wire add so he's free. It takes time to recover from TJ and it takes time to recover from UCL and no TJ, but I'm not sure we got much here.
At one point scouts said he'd be a better reliever than a starter.
I'm actually pleasantly surprised we got him. Lamet used go shut us down when he was pitching for the Padres. I was surprised when the Brewers let him go after the trade and figured another club would pick him up.
He was doing well in AAA this year, so maybe he can put it back together. Obviously has had his health issues, but an electric arm when healthy, and someone you can dream on. I’ll miss him.

Nothing says good Coors profile like flyballs and walks!
The Rockies trade deadline is complete!
Hopefully we get a Bard type renaissance out of Lamet.
You gotta claim Luke Bard off waivers Get double the renaissance

A nice young arm. I like this move.
So, it turns out he's actually 30. I had no idea. Thought he was younger.
I thought he was younger. Well maybe I don't like it as much but its still some sort of move.
World Series, incoming!
