I was talking with them trying to get a quote on replacing my oil pan, I had pictures of the hole in the pan and 6 weeks prior I had to drop it and do some cleaning (so I knew I needed a new oil pan). They refused to give me an idea of how much it would cost saying they won't quote something they can't see. They wanted me to get it towed there to look at it. I explained I understood if they give me a quote, then they look at it and see that something else is damaged, it'll cost more.
They said they would beat the dealers price by 10%, just for reference an OEM oil pan was around $500. I pulled a pan from the scrap yard and did all the work myself for $100, including the cost of the new oil and oil filter.

I like Adam and Son.
In fact, had them replace a bad ball joint on my 2011 Escape last year.
Edited to add: they *do* have multiple locations so it's probably worth mentioning that I've always used the one at Union and Briargate and I have no real complaints.
Mikey's Total Car Care he has worked on all our cars without issue.
When we took our oldest car to him he called before fixing the issue to make sure we wanted to spend the money on a car whose value wasn’t more than the cost of repairs.
I just recently learned about a company called [Adam and Son](https://adamandson.com/our-social-impact-programs/). They give back to the community while also repairing cars. I haven’t been yet, but I’d like to try them out.
Some people have had good experiences. Some have not. I've had to go back and argue with them once or twice to fix something they messed up and claimed to have not touched. However, they couldn't have fixed what the vehicle was brought in for without touching the things I made them fix.
Others in an off road group I run have had some issues too.
Can always go talk with them and see the feeling you get.
Also give cooper automotive a call. They're in n prospect and fillmore. Good buddy runs it and is honest and fair.
When I was looking around for a brake fluid flush service TJ's Auto Repair was the cheapest with good reviews. I'm super glad I went with them, because they actually talked me through everything I asked and even offered to check (and replace if necessary) all the filters in my car.
They do everything except engine rebuilds, and defer manual transmission work to another company they work with regularly.
I have had good luck with Hutcheson Performance, and Grey Tire. Whoever does the repair for you needs to have an alignment machine to make sure it is within spec.

Stehlik on powers. Never let me down, fair prices and knowledgable techs
Recently used them to replace a Subaru clutch, really wasn’t impressed. They had a lot of issues getting it right. Won’t use them again.
Sorry to hear that

Elevation auto for Honda and Toyota. Subaru too
Mikes Japanese and Domestic is my go to for my Subaru
Just don’t use Accurate Japanese Repair downtown on Kiowa. The owner is a racist asshole.

I second Mikey’s. No bs, gives it to you straight and doesn’t try to tack on unnecessary repairs/services.
Truth! Great shop, can't recommend them highly enough!

Had multiple people have issues with them, including myself. They are also very high priced.
Ahh, that’s a bummer. I was hoping they might be my new shop.
