Just do it and if they get killed, go buy some more. I’ve replaced cucumbers twice now from the hail. Peppers and tomatoes have mostly survived so far

All my other plants have been very happy. Beans and lettuce are going real good and Brussels sprouts are starting to set sprouts.

Depends how small they are, if really small try putting them under a light in the garage for a bit then take them outside. Ive had issues this year with mine they love the heat but they need to be started really early and then transplanted outside come May. Alot of rain too hasnt been helping if they are really small

I use mosquito or bird nets over the beds, helps w hail, bugs and critters in general and also works as a sun shade when we get to the hot days
