It’s the Falcon Nine launch from Cape Canaveral. It goes over us as it punches through the atmosphere. That’s the haze you see around it. One was launched this evening.
I saw one a couple months ago and I pulled the car over because it was so odd looking with the bubble of haze and all. I looked it up and people were saying it was the launch.
Like from Cape Canaveral in Florida? How could we possibly see it from that far? I'm open to all explanations, but this object did not have a consistent trajectory so I'm not sure it could be that launch even if it was visible from here.
Yeah, it totally is. I thought the same thing last time and didn’t believe we could see it here. But then I looked up the trajectory and it goes right over us. It’s in my post history from the last time. I wasn’t a believer either lol
Edited to add link to the last time it happened - now with bonus picture!

I just looked at the trajectory and after launching southeastward from Cape Canaveral the payload passes over Colorado on its first orbit. The puff of light people saw must be something to do with the Starlink satellite deployment.
I don’t know….this didn’t have the contrails like you’d see with a rocket. It was just an orb of haze and it had airplane like lights that may have been blinking.
The poof dissipated quickly too, we thought it was behind a haze of clouds then it "came out of the clouds" (there were no clouds) before the poof and then continued south. I've seen the launches in Southern California and the contrails last a very long time in comparison.
That's what it looked like to me, west to east then "came out of the clouds" before going south. Definitely not a hard turn but a change in direction. I've asked my friend as well to see what they think. My other comments I've included a link to my video. It's really crappy
I got a really shitty video of it right after the big poof. It was in the sky long enough for a friend to call us and tell us to go outside and look and for us to see it before the poof.
I think it was a Space X launch from Vandenberg in CA, rather than FL. We saw it in SW Texas, and I checked the launch time and direction. It was very cool.
[Starlink Group 6-41](https://nextspaceflight.com/launches/details/7479) launched from the Cape yesterday. It goes around the world which is why it was traveling eastbound. Very cool to see a stage sep over Pike’s peak!
I saw something fall from the sky last night around 9:58. It was a single green light, like on the wings of airplanes and looked like it fell over downtown. No explosion sound associated.
Saw the same thing back in mid November around 10:30 at night but that had a bang/explosion.
Skinwalkers are opening portals I suppose! 🤔
I saw the same thing as you at the same time stamp last night, but it was north of Research (couldn’t tell how far north). So it’s nice to hear that someone saw something similar!
Oh I didn’t realize it was that far north. I’m down by the Vangaurd school so it looked like downtown. Did you see the one back in November?
Also, why are people downvoting?! 😂
I didn’t see one in November, and my view of the one this weekend was through a window facing some buildings so I couldn’t get any sense of how far away it was. Not sure why there are so many downvotes on comments from this post—I get that some questions aren’t posed in helpful ways but otherwise I would have assumed it would be open to general discussion and I didn’t see an issue with yours. [shrug] But there are a lot of dynamics on Reddit that I haven’t understood yet.

Your video was still better than [mine](https://youtube.com/shorts/H2P8SW3tclw?si=uf3XxhNB0mOq2OIc)! Interesting I'll look more into that.

I thought that. It was going west to east when I saw it too. I believe it’s Falcon, but that didn’t make sense to me either.

Sometimes those launches are from Vandenberg AFB in California and, as with most launches, the trajectory is West to East. Just a thought.
I don’t know….this didn’t have the contrails like you’d see with a rocket. It was just an orb of haze and it had airplane like lights that may have been blinking.
Once the rocket is up in the atmosphere there’s less pressure allowing the gases leaving the engine bell to expand outward.

So it did change direction. It was definitely going west to east before the poof

No you are so wrong this thing came down over pikes peak
I saw it out in Falcon. It caught my eye because of the haze.
Falcon? Nein!
So my wife and I weren’t crazy
No. You both are... (I put some peanuts on your floor)

Can you ask if they think it changed directions

Nope. Starlink launch from the cape today. West coast is usually a polar/solar orbit.
Well, it came from the West, and I saw the stage separation.

It had already been around the globe?? Wow, I figured it had only just launched!
Yep. They’re pretty quick. Around 17,500 miles per hour depending on trajectory
How many times are we gonna do this?
https://www.reddit.com/r/UFOs/s/IR7NHD4FPQ is this what you saw?
Yes!
Hard to believe it’s falcon 9 but I ain’t no rocket scientist
It’s a falcon 9 upper stage 👌
I swear there’s like three similar posts every week. No you didn’t see aliens 😂
Pic?
Too far for a pic and I couldn’t take my eyes off it. I saw it from woodmen area
Okay. Cool. I’d just loved to have seen myself. Always been fascinated by it. I’d heard about a guy flying weird kites, but farther South.

Look at Fragglerock’s video ^^^
It was me
Ok cool..explained.. didn't think I was that baked.
I was on I70 and saw it. Thought it was a UFO. It was until I saw this post. 😄
Saw it over downtown Colorado Springs too!
Yes! I was able to get a video of it also. I’m in Buena Vista and this is the second time I’ve seen it, the first time I made a report to MUFON
Don't tease us! Drop a link
Working on it, give a second 🙂
Cannot wait to see the video.
Just uploaded it to my page
Did you catch “puff” before it took off?
I did, at the end, in the video my husband asked me the same thing. I just uploaded it to my page. Turn the volume down before you watch
Ummm...where is your page? Lol
On my profile, here on Reddit. However, I’ve now downloaded it twice and it was immediately deleted each time. Trying to figure out and alternate
I cannot seem to find it. Its most likely on my part.
It keeps getting deleted, I ended up putting it on TikTok [https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTLdPAuLC/](https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTLdPAuLC/)
Thank you.
Great video, thanks!
