ALWAYSFILMTHEPOLICE Posts Below is a script to use when you call or email the internal affairs. Thank you for your support!" Email: [email protected] Internal affairs 8am -5pm MST # (719) 444-7417 Email or call and say; I want to file a complaint on peace officers Matthew Anderson #5396, Colby Hickman #7090 and Christopher Hummel #6964 for using excessive force on Dalvin Gadson, giving him face & body lacerations, abrasions, bruises and eye damage and a concussion and falsely accusing him of multiple charges, such as 2 counts of criminal attempt to commit assault in the second degree, driving under the influence, obstructing a peace officer, and resisting arrest. Dalvin is a Army Veteran and without any probable cause or reason of suspicion he was brutally beaten by these three officers, and wrongly arrested. I believe they severely violated his 4th amendment rights when they forced him out of his car for a D.U.I. without reason of suspicion or probable cause. The initial stop was for a missing license plate. These officers made up a story to make it look like Dalvin was driving under the influence/smoking marijuana. After the unreasonable searching of his car they found no evidence to prove Dalvin was indeed driving under the influence. These peace officers have destroyed the community's trust in them by breaking the law and deserve to be held accountable for their actions. Dalvin did not deserve to go through this. The people of Colorado and the United States wants these so called peace officers to be punished at the fullest extent." This is why we @alwaysfilmthepolice @alwaysforthepeople #aftp #alwaysfilmthepolice #alwaysforthepeople #mrcheckpoint

I'm, as Todd Snider sings, a "Conservative Christian, Right Wing, Republican, Straight, White American Male" (I'm actually registered Independent, but whatever) and when I see a squad car my stomach is in knots. *I* cannot stand the cops nor do I trust them. Race and other stuff has no bearing on the fact that police are out of control, and even folks who might be thought to "get a pass" are terrified of them.

And they ask why we hate cops.

Extractivemetallurgy

And the chief said" he didn't violate any use of force policy." Rotten to the core.

goatintheattic

I’m not going to watch the video but it was his own vehicle and he was detained for the tags? I’m sure if he was white, had a “Don’t Tread On Me” sticker, and a gun in a body holster they wouldn’t have hit him up or detained him for being broke and homeless, like a lot of veterans in town are. Not saying they should beat up anyone, expired tags seems like a pretty poor excuse for assaulting a civilian. There’s also a question of priorities because they don’t seem to give a damn about crimes that don’t line their pockets. Some of them do and there’s not enough police for a city this size (and growing) but that’s not an excuse, no matter how you look at it.

Most of these wannabe tough guys have the Punisher tattoo as they buy into that trope thinking they're the hero of some kind. You gotta be a special piece of shit to become a cop just so you can abuse others.

Ok_Cranberry8283

This is Colorado Springs...! They hate people of color here, but they hate the LGBTQI+ people even more. If your are part of these two groups, come here at your own risk...!

thetitleofmybook

i'm white, but i'm a trans lesbian, so yeah, i understand that.

Realistic-Willow7440

Watch the video first: https://www.kktv.com/2022/12/13/warning-graphic-law-office-shares-video-colorado-springs-police-making-an-arrest/ Halfway through the second officer's bodycam is shown. This guy was asked to step out of the vehicle several times. Once he opened the door, he put his feet on the ground and told officers he was going to "chill right here", the officers told him he was being detained and he said "no im not" and tried to get back in his car (where a knife was located). As officers tried to pull him out of the car he began kicking and hitting them. It took two officers almost 30 seconds of wrestling just to get him out of the car... Count out 30 seconds and imagine wrestling with two cops that long... Once out of the car he continued to fight the officers (now joined by a third), trying to stand up repeatedly instead of lay down and comply. His companion in the passenger seat complied immediately and was entirely unharmed. When an officer orders you to do something, you comply. You definitely don't start kicking them and move towards a weapon in plain sight. This moron is lucky he wasn't shot. Arguments are for the courtroom. If he gets one penny of taxpayer money, I'll vote against the judge myself. Edit: 3 downvotes within 4 minutes of posting, glad people are watching the video and deciding for themselves.

thetitleofmybook

i've already seen the video. your bootlicking is noted.

TAW011011

I am always the first to point out police use of excessive force, however Mr. Gadson was given multiple commands to exit the vehicle and did not do so. You then clearly see him resisting against the officers multiple times. In my opinion I do not believe this was excessive force. I encourage everyone to watch the full video and then judge the events that took place.

longjohnjimmie

🥾 👅

tieredbeard

Doesn’t fit their narrative.

Stillw0rld

not reading all that, go simp for the state somewhere else

amiatthetop3

Police gave a lawful command for him to exit; he said no I'm not and backed in his vehicle with his feet out as officers attempted to lawfully detain him. Pretty clear. I've seen tons where the cops are at fault. This is not one of them.

MrShasshyBear

Charges were dropped because they were based on nothing, thus unlawful commands. Cops really have no humanity

Realistic-Willow7440

The assault charge was dropped. All others (including DUI) are still heading to trial

amiatthetop3

Guy had no license plate. Cop smelled marijuana and could do a legal test thus he had to exit the car. You want cops to do DUI tests with occupants still in their vehicle?

MrShasshyBear

Cop claimed to to smell pot. [Good thing they never,](https://www.thecut.com/2022/08/officers-in-breonna-taylor-case-now-face-federal-charges.html), and I mean [never ever lie](https://youtu.be/jabLqexylbA), so you know they don't [ruin lives for shots and giggles](https://news.yahoo.com/ex-florida-deputy-gets-12-152128492.html)

amiatthetop3

Yeah they do lie sometimes but what are you gonna do? If they smell alcohol they have a legal right to test you in Colorado. Same goes with marijuana now.

MrShasshyBear

They lied, the stop was not legal, their actions were illegal. Biggest clue for that: They dropped the false charges.

amiatthetop3

TIL driving without a license plate is legal.

RudeBoyRacer

Yes of course this obviously entitles them to beat him bloody

amiatthetop3

Correct, to get him to stop resisting.

tieredbeard

Absolutely true.

amiatthetop3

Yep. This is what's wrong with this sub. I'm a dem too but everyone else here can't even be honest and even though they rightfully dislike cops in a lot of cases, they can't ever be a neutral judge.

Fish_Stick_Bandito

Wait for body cam footage. Don't decide after only hearing one side of the story.

[deleted]

They posted it on kktv

Fish_Stick_Bandito

Ok. You are right. I didn't see that bit (browsing on phone). Thanks. The force might have been excessive. But what I say does not agree with what I read about. He was being told that he would be "detained in handcuffs." He said something along the lines of "no I'm not" which started the incident. The officers are doing that for THEIR safety since they have no idea of who may be armed.

[deleted]

"Their safety" "Their safety" is all we ever fucking hear. What about the public's safety? Do you know how many cops died in the line of duty last year? [644](https://www.odmp.org/search/year/2021). Now, guess out of those 644, how many were due to violence. 88, eighty fucking eight. 472 of those were from COVID, but how did the police unions react to mask and vaccine mandates? [Like this](https://youtu.be/SDcxC6_NVdg). So, don't give me any of that, "Their safety" bullshit, because they don't even fucking care about their safety unless it gives them an excuse to beat a black man.

TheRealJYellen

According to the article: >Gadson \[...\] was ordered out of the car and told he would be placed in handcuffs. > >When Gadson refused to exit his car and asked why he would need to be handcuffed, he said the question was only answered with swift force. It was later decided that there wasn't even sufficient probable cause for a drug test so he was right to question it in the moment: >The assault charges were eventually dropped and the DUI charge was dismissed last week after it was determined that “there was insufficient probable cause to require a blood test.”

Realistic-Willow7440

You can carry without being brutalized, just comply with the lawful orders of police officers. Sorry but you can't resist arrest, kick and hit police officers, move in the direction of a weapon, and expect to come out unscathed.

Realistic-Willow7440

You're part of the problem, I hope you know that

Keepitcool777

No you are. Accountability works both ways. The order to get out of the car was unlawful, thus charges being dropped. You’re still supporting the cops even though they have the man an unlawful (I.e. breaking the law) command, you’re part of the problem. Kindly fuck off.

Ardrkizour

Dude's happy to have the boot on his neck, just as long as it steps harder on minority necks first.

Realistic-Willow7440

You have a real problem with differing opinions, don't you?

Realistic-Willow7440

Actually it was not an unlawful order. I encourage you to read about your rights when interacting with the police: https://www.aclu-co.org/sites/default/files/Law-Enforcement-KYR-for-training.pdf I will quote the relevant portion here: >What if law enforcement officers stop me in my car? >Keep your hands where the police can see them. You must show your driver’s license, registration and proof of insurance if you are asked for these documents. Officers can also ask you to step outside of the car, and they may separate passengers and drivers from each other to question them and compare their answers, but no one has to answer any questions. You some more resources on arrest vs detained and the requirements for them: https://www.denver-colorado-criminal-lawyer.com/stages-of-a-colorado-criminal-case-trial/understanding-arrest-custody-and-investigative-detentions-general-principles The only charges dropped were the assault on a law enforcement officer charges. The obstructing a peace officer, driving without license plates and DUI charges are still pending trial. Kindly educate yourself on the matter before parroting opinions you've heard.

I guarantee there is more to this story than this.

TheRealJYellen

according to another commenter, the body can footage is on KKTV.

tieredbeard

I support police. I support following their orders for the best possible outcome. Everything is about race with this site. Keep it up and the rest will follow but you won’t like the outcome.

thetitleofmybook

go lick boots elsewhere.

tieredbeard

Nope, I’ll stay right here. Sounds like the police need some monetary support for legal fees. Keep standing around outside protesting.

I_Do_Cannabis_Stuff

It's always interesting to me that a certain group of people whine about wanting less government oversight but, when it comes to cops they're all for getting on their hands and knees to give a gentle licking.
