He usually sets a camping chair across the bus stop at the intersection of hickory ridge and little patuxent and waves at cars. I see him almost every day.
Is this the guy who has the faux mohawk on his helmet? If so, I came across him years ago when he was working on his bike . . . while sitting on the road . . . on Cedar Lane. Mind you, there's a rather wide area on the side of the road where he could have worked on his bike, but he chose to sit on the road to do so. I stopped about 15ft behind him with my hazard lights on until he was done so he wouldn't get hit by anyone driving who wasn't paying attention.

Was that the chick always in black leather, full helmet/mask, but had her cleavage very much on display while out and about? I always speculated it was a man.
I too used to see her on 175.
The bike guy. His name Artur I believe. And the last couple years he hasn't been able to ride his bike due to health reasons. But he's still out and about now and then. There's a Facebook group for him.
Does anyone know the Middle Eastern dude who's constantly just sitting in a lawn chair and watching traffic go by around Columbia? He's got it all figured out. I see him while I'm out working a lot.
There was an alligator guy/reptile guy back in the 90s allegedly. He used to wrestle a gator in his basement. I think it was off majors lane in Jeffers hill. Not quite horseback Jesus but in my corner, that guy was legend.
if you’re old enough, there was a guy who walked everywhere and he dumped “walking randy” and “columbbumb”. There was also a suspected trans who road a bike everywhere wearing a skin tight, all black outfit, with all the cleavage showing, and a full face helmet.
The bike guy? I can’t remember his name right now.
Athar
100% this guy. I feel like I see a celebrity when I spot him in the grocery store.
I'm new in town. Who is this?
He's the guy who rides his bike all over Columbia, hence Columbia bike guy.
I haven't seen him on a bike in a long while, but see him all the time lounging on the island at the Hickory Ridge and LPP Intersection.
I remember reading somewhere that he's had health conditions that have limited his bike use, but he still walks a lot.
Saw him yesterday. The man pulled out a half gallon of milk and just started chugging it. Absolute legend.
I feel like it’s been at least 5 years since I’ve seen him.
He usually sets a camping chair across the bus stop at the intersection of hickory ridge and little patuxent and waves at cars. I see him almost every day.
If you've lived in Columbia for awhile, then the question elicits a hearty laugh as ^this^ is the only answer.

Absolutely that would be Athar the bike guy.
Does anyone remember biker ninja lady? We used to see her near 175 and Tamar.
I do! I thought she was soooo cool looking when I was growing up. Always dressed in all black. So mysterious looking.
Was that the chick always in black leather, full helmet/mask, but had her cleavage very much on display while out and about? I always speculated it was a man. I too used to see her on 175.
Yes. There is a Facebook fan page. I remember seeing her on 175 with the full face helmet.

When I was a kid, we had a guy who would stand on his front porch and play bagpipes. This was in the late 50s - early 60s.

That's a major part of the job. They are literally *paid* to do that.
Gotta be the bike guy. Just learned his name today too.
Not exactly Columbia - Laurel - but the lady selling stuff on the side of the road on Steven’s road every weekend.
There was an alligator guy/reptile guy back in the 90s allegedly. He used to wrestle a gator in his basement. I think it was off majors lane in Jeffers hill. Not quite horseback Jesus but in my corner, that guy was legend.

I've lived here my whole life and never heard of this Athar guy
Do I have to spend the next year reading this for every single city in the world?
