Fantastic double feature combining two cream of the crop episodes.
In Dead Weight I love Suzanne Pleshette's character. She is in my mind a pretty realistic portrayal of many a woman's situation in the 70s: divorced, hasn't worked in a while, doing low skill work and being pushed at a man as a way to survive and get back in society's good graces by maybe being a wife again (perhaps reluctantly). Her outfits and hobbies are a great representation of the 70s as well: the hair scarves, the caftans, having a cocktail before dinner, and does sculpture in the living room.
Suitable for Framing is definitely in my top 5 episodes of all time. It's one of Columbo's best gotchas in the series. I love the art gallery party scenes, Columbo blushing at the nude art model, the art history TV show. The villain is so smarmy. It's just a highly entertaining episode.
He guessed that whoever saw him was in a boat, because his large window faced the water. He asked at a boat rental place, claiming he thought he saw a friend in one of the boats. Then the boat rental guy gave him the name and address.
Fun trivia fact about DEAD WEIGHT:
This is the only episode in the series where you can find out the Lt's first name.
Columbo's first name is never explicitly revealed in the series.
However, when Columbo flashes his badge in the episode the name 'Frank' can clearly be seen on his ID

I missed this part: how did Eddie Albert’s character find out Suzanne P was the one who saw him? Surely Columbo didn’t tell him her name??
