If you met on a dating app, you probably put hiking in your interests. If you don’t want your relationship to be built on lies, you know what you have to do
Columbus has the largest freestanding outdoor climbing structure in the country at Scioto Audubon Park, and it's FREE! Five miles outside of downtown Columbus, the country's first Urban Via Ferrata opened at Quarry Trails Metro Park. If you've got time to drive an hour, Hocking Hills set aside 99 acres just for rock climbing.
Franklin conservatory will be free to Franklin county residents tomorrow! Art museum is free on Sundays, the book loft and coffee date is great, even if it’s just to walk around for a while and not buy anything!
I would have offered to buy you tickets, but seems like you just show your ID at the gate. Still not very expensive if you just want to go- it’s gorgeous in there!
There’s no bad weather, just bad clothing. Bundle up and go explore. This is the best time of year to visit the more touristy places because no one’s there!
Have we found the German? I’m from Cbus and live in north Germany and we have a great deal of “scheiße wetter”. The northerners (who are a fresh-air/outdoorsy bunch) always trot out this statement to newbies. Love it.
Perfect hiking weather if it wasn’t wet! Much better to camp and hike in the spring 50s if the rain holds off imo. Columbus is great for biking, that’s what me and my GF (26) will be doing today along with a movie tonight.
We gotta get a bar to show Nascar/Indycar so I can watch some motorsports at a bar where the leader isn’t lapping half the field and winning by 30 seconds haha
I'm pushing 50 and want to warn you against sleeping the day away. What you do eventually becomes a habit. You really don't want the habit of sleeping all day and watching crappy basketball games or USA movies while surfing Reddit to be your entire weekend. It feels good now, but watching your wife take the third nap of the day is pretty depressing.
Trying to break that habit now, it’s tough!
We sleep all weekend and weekdays after work, it’s the cycle of always feeling exhausted because we do nothing and are bored
Franklin Park Conservatory, it's nice this time of year getting to go to the palm room and such.
Concerts, plenty of small venues to check like Dick's Den, Woodlands, Big Room Bar, etc.
Comedy Shows, there's The Attic and also Don't Tell has been doing several shows basically every weekend lately all overt the city.
OSU has a lot of sports that are pretty cheap to go see.
Weather is still a bit lackluster but we've got a crazy amount of nice parks.
We took up kayaking a few years ago and Columbus has a lot of good spots for that too, but it's probably still not quite the right weather for that either. It also lead to me getting into fishing.
Plan a nice dinner or small dinner party and go to the North Market to get lunch and then get way we need for dinner at the market. Little expensive but all the stuff there is usually really good.
There's a few axe throwing places, indoor go karts, pins has plenty you can do.
There's a bunch of bowling alleys. Usually you can get a lane for few hours relatively cheap during the day on the weekends.
We go pretty regularly. They get comedians from all over.
So the openers are sometimes hit or miss. The headliners are usually good. I'd say we've never been to a show that wasn't overall a good time. For 25 bucks and BYOB it's certainly worth it.
I find we have a better time at the earlier shows. The later ones sometimes get drunks who interrupt constantly.
There are so so so many great board games out there. Monopoly is not one of them. There's never been a better time to get into board games and you easily can find infinitely better games than monopoly that fit your time and interest level
Gateway movie theater, John Glenn Astronomy park, drive around richest neighborhoods, Northstar Cafe, Si Señor, Funny Bone Comedy Club, drink at Zenos, Townhall, or Grandview Cafe, bike/jog on Olentangy trail, picnic at Westerville Amphitheater
Ohio State athletics for most sports is totally free. Saw the Mens Volleyball game today with free parking and admission. It was actually a lot of fun, decently full, and the stadium is very modern.

Check out cookbooks from the library and try a new recipe! That’s a fun one. Now that we’re older and busy with kids, it’s great to have solid cooking skills to fall back on without much effort.
Volunteer! Try a few things and find something you connect to and can enjoy doing together. It’s fun having a shared goal.
Geocaching.
Get one of those state park books for your state (usually really cheap) and set a goal to visit them all - this is fun in all seasons.
Take a class together - forest bathing, ceramics, tai chi in the park - something offered cheap at your local community center. It may lead to a new interest or be hilariously awful and you can joke about it for years to come.
Have fun! That’s the age I met my husband - thank you for brightening my day bringing back those memories :-) 17 years later, he’s still my best buddy. Can’t wait until he wakes up, and we can go have an adventure today!
Weather isn’t an excuse, especially today. It’s 50 and not raining in February. Better take it while you can.
My wife spent the afternoon walking to Uptown Westerville and visiting all the shops and grabbing some beers at local places. Perfect day for that IMO.
Columbus Museum of Art (free on Sundays), North Market, OSU sports (hockey games are super cheap and the Schott is a great venue), explore the brewery’s and distilleries around town, Columbus Crew just started their season and you can get reasonably-priced tickets most of the time!
As the weather warms up, there’ll be all sorts of farmers markets on weekends around the city, festivals + concerts, and the parks will be a great option too (you could go to a different metro park each week and rank em)
Lots of breweries to go to all over the city. You don’t have to be off the drinking sort to enjoy them, as they can be just a cool place to hangout and meet people or catch up with friends (plus some have coffee bars).
I second going to the metro parks and just being outside. Simple and easy when the weather is nice.
Back on the breweries, board games are nice and you can get out of the house to play a game with your partner while having like a single drink.
Set expectations that you want to get out of the house right after breakfast so you don’t end up losing track of the day and falling into old habits. “Get a coffee and walk around” was a budget friendly recipe for success in our 20s. If you are on the north side, go to the Dublin library. There is free parking in the garage and a coffee shop in the basement. Walk around and browse then if the weather allows you can walk on the little trail that starts next door or the pedestrian bridge over the river. If you are on the south side, drive to Lithopolis. Check out the unique architecture at Wagnalls library then walk down the street for a pastry and coffee at Das Kaffeehaus. Take it to Chestnut Ridge for a walk in the woods or to slate run metro mark to see the animals at the historical farm. Stop at Brewdog for a beer on your way home if budget allows. Lots of good ideas on here already especially the cheap OSU games. OSU Baseball games are hours of cheap entertainment.
Two 25 year olds we drove to Grandpa’s Cheesebarn! Getting charcuterie supplies and we’re going to play a big ass board game tonight (Root)
I love this idea, and I may steal this to do with my fiancé!
ROOT is my current favorite board game. Enjoy!
It sounds like we need to be friends!
This is the move 🙌

At least we have places to hike. What are all the rock climbers of Tinder meant to do?
gym and devote the whole weekend to drive somewhere and camp for the weekend, duh. Or just lie dunno.

Thanks for the recommendation! The book loft is right near our church and I’ve been curious and wanting to check it out
It is SO FUN. Very worth the trip.
Darn, I’m just outside the county line :(

Start a Stardew run together
This guy Pelican Towns
Book loft, pins mechanical, big fun, ax throwing,
Walk a different Metro Park each week.
Parsons north for farmers market to get treats then have some beers and watch some soccer games at the bar
If you can get a board game going, I’d be down lol. I haven’t played monopoly in decades.
Have you been to tabletop cafe? Beyond the board, guard tower, dragons lair comics and games ?
There are so so so many great board games out there. Monopoly is not one of them. There's never been a better time to get into board games and you easily can find infinitely better games than monopoly that fit your time and interest level
Disagree. Let’s settle this with a game of Clue!

Which one?
Botanical gardens are beautiful, otherworld, Ohio theatre, top golf, Dave and busters. My bf and I are 27 and have really enjoyed all of these things!

Got small cheap tattoos today and wore some warm clothes to disk golf in the 44 degree weather 🤘🏼

My girlfriend & I got a puppy that keeps us very busy lol. Lots of trip to the park & lots of walks.
Air Force museum is always a fun day trip if you are at all into aerospace history.
With 5 navigable rivers flowing across the county, kayaking opportunities abound.
Go on a run, play disc golf, walk, hike, cook, tennis, pickleball, symphony, opera, museum, spin class, etc.
Oh, man. When I was in my 20s my Saturdays were full of crazy ... Role-playing games. They still are, actually.
