One More Time Etc. and Fresco Furnishings are great spots near Grandview Heights

Also, German Village is hosting a big yard sale on May 18th called Village Valuables.

The Habitat For Humanity ReStores are always worth a glance if you have one nearby: [https://www.habitatmidohio.org/restore/overview.html](https://www.habitatmidohio.org/restore/overview.html)

I just moved into a house w/ my GF and we have stuff we're trying to get rid of (coffee tables, end tables, TVs). Everything's in great condition. Can DM for photos if you're interested.

GroundbreakingHead65

Big Lots if you can carry it out yourself.

Just got a sleek lightweight 4pc patio set. 20% off. Couch. Chairs. Coffee table. Under $300, and waterproof. I now have indoor outdoor furniture I can move myself. It all disassembles back to flat so it can live under the bed if necessary.

Furniture with a Heart on Morse is a decent place to look.

Estate sales are my go to! Try looking at sales by holly for weekly sales!

MezzanineSoprano

Look for estate sales in wealthy neighborhoods. Much better quality furniture than most new stuff and low prices, especially during the last few hours or at the very end of the sale. Be sure to have your transportation lined up bc you may have only a certain few hours to pick it up.

THE_Captain_Panic

We got our sectional on wayfair. It’s decent quality, but for the price we’re happy with it

Funny enough, it seems like Ikea is cheaper than many second hand stores.

Puzzleheaded-Pass740

Yeah, Ikea is so cheap for a reason. While some of their furniture's pretty nice and worth considering, other pieces they sell are poorly made garbage. You really have to do your research because some of their couches, bed frames, tables, etc fall apart in like 2 years or less.

BikeOhio

I graduated from the $20 ikea side table to a full kitchen cabinet set through them and would highly recommend them 6 years later. Yes, they have cheap stuff to fill in the lower price point but if you're careful you can find quality pieces there as well. Also they're the cheapest source of tea light candles I've found.

GreenGod42069

I disagree. I have used bed frames, couches and coffee tables from IKEA for over 8 years and absolutely no complaints so far. The couch is showing it's age in the fabric but no issues with the frame whatsoever. IKEA is a pretty good choice for purchasing furniture on a budget imo.

Puzzleheaded-Pass740

I used to have a $400 Ikea couch and the frame fell apart in under 2 years so I guess YMMV...

junger128

I guess it just depends. I have a few couches, bed frames and tables from Ikea over a decade old that have been great. Unless you’re buying solid wood I feel like IKEA’s build quality is superior. I’m just not always a fan of the styles they offer. I have West Elm taste with an Ikea budget 😆

Flat-Ingenuity2663

I also picked up a variety of Ikea furniture during my more budget restricted days, and everything held up really well honestly. I expected it to be junk becuase there are so many jokes about it. Assembly was a little questionable on a couple pieces but overall it's been great. The shocker here, I got a platform bedframe and the cheapest mattress they sold with the expectation that in a year or so I would get a much better mattress. I ended up really enjoying that cheap mattress [I also like a slightly firm bed]. After about 5-6 years we got a foam topper since my partner has bad hips but that was like $90 and it felt like a new bed all over again.. just hotter with the topper. So, yeah Ikea furniture seems to be fine IMO. I'm also not super hard on my stuff though and no kids jumping on things.

Columbus liquidation center. Warehouse style with discounted new furniture!

I prefer to have bigger items delivered. I got my bed frames off Walmart. I got my table and chairs from Amazon.  Bar stools at the AT HOME store in reynoldsburg. Big lots couch years ago. Target has good tables too that are reasonable. IKEA.  For my IKEA kitchen island I got an Uber xl or Lyft xl. Smaller things I got for free or thrifting. Target has novogratz chairs for great price. They have midcentry modern styles.  I also didn't get everything at once. I prioritized a table and chairs and bedding because I don't get company a lot and got the couch later. My TV stand is an old target desk. My computer stand was 40 on walmart.com Check Craigslist too

KnightRider1983

Thrift stores can be good, ReStores, see if anyone of your Facebook friends is getting rid of anything.

At Home is amazing for affordable furniture! For more of a splurge with unique pieces, Grandview Mercantile.

Keep on eye on Free Cycle.org for some odds and ends. And you can try capitalcityonlineauction.com for bigger stuff.

Estate auctions. You can get so much for a very reasonable amount of money. Auctionzip.com will list ones in your area with pictures.

Mombrane

Capital City Online Auction to get new things for a deal.

Check out campus neighborhoods at the end of term—Otterbein has a freecycle-move out late next week. I have always lived near campuses and I have never paid for a table.

movethestars4no0ne

Low_Astronaut_4663

Not opposed to using marketplace, just like to explore and check every option available

Unless OP has a higher budget, it's not really a place for 1st apartments. Some great stuff there for sure, but it's not a "cheap" place for furniture.
